VETERANS DAY

This is the day set aside to honor all men and women who have served in our armed forces. Here's a thought for you ... that old man driving that Buick at 20 mph below the speed limit? You know .. the one with the big ears and that driving hat? Give him a break. He might have been one of those who waded ashore on Utah Beach on D-Day. He might have dragged a buddy to safety after seeing him cut down by German fire. We owe these people so much ... whether they saw combat or not. They've been there to defend our freedoms. Now, more than ever, that should mean something to you.

Maybe you'll take the time to read this article from the Wall Street Journal: Soldiers of the Great War.

UNIVERSAL HEALTHCARE ... HERE IS COMES

How satisfied are you with the quality and cost of health care in the United States?
Very satisfied
Somewhat satisfied
Somewhat dissatisfied
Very dissatisfied
Let the talk of healthcare reform begin. And for this we are going to Democrat Rep. Pete Stark of California. He is the chairman of the House Ways and Means health subcommittee and there is no doubt that this guy will be a major player when it comes to healthcare reform.

Our federal government has grown. Big time. And with that growth has been obscene spending by politicians on both sides of the aisles. And at a time when our nation is facing record deficits, Representatives like Pete Stark think it would be a good idea to add hundreds of billions of dollars to that deficit. That's because the Democrats have no plans to cut spending when it is convenient to fund their schemes and dreams ... and in this case it would be universal healthcare. Stark says that he wants to waive fiscal rules – the pay-as-you-go rules (PAYGO) – in order to expand healthcare coverage.

There is no doubt that there have been exceptions to PAYGO ... take this $700 billion financial package. But ironically it was the Democrats who re-adopted PAYGO rules in efforts to make themselves look fiscally conservative or responsible. But once the election is over, they are already willing to scrap it in order to fund their spending programs.

Oh and as if you had any doubts ... Pete Stark also says that he approves of Obama's plan to raise taxes on the evil rich in order to help finance a new healthcare system for this country. A system that will inevitably cost hundreds of times more than originally estimated by virtue of the fact that it is a government operation and it is doomed to be plagued with bureaucracy and mediocrity.

Just know this, dear listeners: The Democrats are pushing this nationalized health care idea because they want more control over YOU. When they control your health care ... which inevitably will ... they control you. The clear solution to whatever health care "crisis" we have is the free market. Politicians have been working for generations to prevent the marketplace from working to bring about affordable health care. Their power means everything to them. If you have to wait for months for an MRI, so be it. If your health care has to be rationed, so be it. It's all about power ...THEIR power.

NEAL ON TV TODAY - TWICE!

Today, Neal will be on CNN with Rick Sanchez 3-4pm ET. The topics will be the GM bailout and AIG. Later, Neal will be on a panel on Larry King Live 9-10pm ET discussing what the GOP needs to do now.

SPEAKING OF GOVERNMENT HEALTHCARE

National Health Service officials in Great Britain are rolling out a new plan to pay blubberbutts to lose weight. Yep, the government healthcare system of Great Britain will spend about $9 million to reward widebodies for trying to lose weight. And that $9 million, folks, is just for one town – Manchester – which will act as a guinea pig for this scheme. No pun intended.

The Points4Life program will allow obese people to win points on their NHS loyalty card (a loyalty card?). They will earn points by showing up to health clubs or exercise classes ...even if they don't lose any weight! They can also gain points by running or walking in the local park where you can swipe your government issued card at a government-run exercise machine that will track your exercise. They can gain points by simply walking their children to school rather than driving them or taking public transportation to work. If they buy healthy food (according to the government's definition of healthy) they can also earn points.

In exchange for your healthy behavior you can use the points to buy health products and services or get discounts on healthy food.

Are you seeing where this is going, folks? Government healthcare cards that track your exercise. Government-sponsored exercise equipment in parks. And who tracks whether or not you walk your child to school in the morning? Oh and the government will also offer "a new award scheme" to encourage restaurants to stock more healthy food. People living in government housing will be encouraged to join a 'grow your own' fruit and vegetable scheme.

This is the government-run healthcare system of the United Kingdom. And you really want this to happen to our great nation?

FOR THOSE OF YOU WHO MISSED IT YESTERDAY

Yesterday I asked you on the air what is wrong with this statement from Valerie Jarrett, the co-chair of Barack Obama's Transition Team:

There is one president at a time. President Bush is still the president. He's graciously invited President-elect Obama to the White House tomorrow to begin their conversations of the transition. So we respect that. He will be the president until January 20th. However, giving--given, really, the daunting challenges that we face, it's important that President-elect Obama is prepared to really take power and begin to rule day one. So we will be working closely with his administration. We're reviewing the agencies now. He will be making key personnel decisions. He gets national security briefings every day now as well, but he will not be the president until January 20th.

It didn't take long for the listeners to get this yesterday. Presidents govern. They manage. They lead. They don't RULE. China, North Korea, Venezuela, and most countries in Africa have "rulers." We don't. This is a hint at the mindset of the Obama crowd. The people of the United States have elected a "ruler," not a leader. A ruler with a penchant for nifty little emblems on his speaking podiums, by the way ....

PRESIDENT ELECT

Folks do know that there is no such thing as an "Office of the President-Elect" don't you? Obamaego at work!

CHANGES FOR GITMO DETAINEES

Another change that we can absolutely expect from an Obama administration is how to handle Guantanamo Bay. Well, Obama apparently knows how to handle it – close down the sucker. But then the question is ... what do you do with the lowlifes that are there?

Under an Obama plan, hundreds of imprisoned terrorism suspects could face criminal trials in the US. Others would be released. And some of the cases which carry highly classified information may end up going to a new court, designed by Obama advisors, which would be equipped to handle sensitive national security cases. You heard it, a new court system.

Here we see Obama running into some realities that he couldn't admit to during the campaign. If you bring these Islamic goons into this country they are immediately vested with full Constitutional rights. This means that if you put them on trial for their barbarism they get full rights of discovery .. the right to look into the government case, investigate and cross-examine the witnesses against them, file discovery motions and the rest of it. Our security operations will be greatly jeopardized and hampered by this nonsense ... but Obama has an irresponsible campaign pledge to fulfill. Let's see if he suddenly gets smart on this one.

HOW ABOUT SOME HATE MAIL

Gotta love these people ....

Subject: cry baby
Name: randy todd
Message:
you are such a little cry baby when you don't get your way. I think your mommie spoiled you. grow up. stop whining. don't you want to be a supporter of the greatest President we have ever had? listen, trickle down doesn't work anymore. trickle up will, except the companies thriving on dirty money today will cease operations because money will not be spent with them. people will vote with their wallets and their new-found wealth. better get right if you want to play.

Do you see the wealth envy in this email? Yeah .. phrases like "dirty money" and "new-found wealth." Poor ignorant Randy can't bring himself to admit that wealth is earned, not "found." Perhaps that's his problem. Instead of working hard and paying careful attention to his decision-making processes, Randy has been wandering around looking for wealth and, alas, he hasn't found any. I also like this "trickle-up" economic growth idea. Would someone please tell me how that works? Just how do the poor create wealth without funding, a job, or some type of economic stimulus from above? Yeah .. that "trickle-up economics" is a sure Nobel Prize winner.

READING ASSIGNMENTS

Neal's guest yesterday was Steve Doocy from Fox and Friends talking about his book, Tales from the Dad Side: Misadventures in Fatherhood. This week for every book purchased, Steve will make a donation to the Wounded Warriors Project in honor of Veterans Day.
A Georgia Republican Congressman is warning of a possible Obama "dictatorship." How I would like to just laugh this off ... but I can't.

It looks like the great Obama Agenda for his first term has suddenly disappeared from the Obama website! They say they are retooling the site. Yeah. Or ... now that he's elected the old agenda is no longer operative?

The Republicans have been beaten badly in two straight elections. Time for some big changes. Are they up to it?

From the Wall Street Journal: (D.) for Vendetta.

From George Will: Obama and the Founder's Intent.

How do you define the push by the unions to end the secret ballot in union elections? Well, "creepy" would work.

We have a new warning from Osama bin Laden about a new al Qaeda attack that will "outdo by far" September 11th.

All hail the age of the intellectuals!

For you global warming nut-jobs out there, take a look at this map. The areas in blue all experienced below-normal temperatures for 2008. Yeah, we really need to deal with this global warming threat.

Barack Obama plans to have his cabinet set and ready to "rule" by the end of this month.

From David Limbaugh: "The most unnerving aspects about the Democrats' sweeping victory Nov. 4 are their intolerance for dissent and their willingness to censor and otherwise suppress their opponents."

But there are some Bush appointees that will remain in power as Obama transitions to the presidency.

Now American Express is in trouble. Evidently one of the ways to help them out is to turn them into a bank holding company. I'm just wondering ... now that there is so much talk of government bailouts for so many companies, is it possible that people think they can get away with not paying their debts now?

Some sad news to report ... Howard Dean is stepping down as DNC chair. Arrrrhhhhhgggggggg!

There is in-house fighting between Democrats over who will be the chair of the House Energy and Commerce Committee ... right now Henry Waxman wants his grubby little paws on the chairmanship. Waxman, in case you don't know, is generally anti-business. Just the guy we need on the Commerce Committee.

Did anybody doubt that the Bush's were going to be friendly to the Obama's as they visited the White House yesterday? People seem shocked by this. Bush has class. Much more than Clinton ... and we'll see about Obama.

There's a lot of talk right now about who will emerge as a leader in the Republican Party for 2012 ... and the person on a lot of people's minds is Newt Gingrich.

Reuters has declared that media bias was largely unseen in the US presidential race. Yeah.... Right.

Here's a statistic that shouldn't shock you. Almost 90% of Muslims voted for Barack Obama in the election.

There is no doubt that Barack Obama will change our relations with Cuba. This could mean lifting the embargo and having direct talks with the Castro brothers.

How much would you pay to attend Barack Obama's inauguration? The asking price could be over $20,000. But don't worry, Dianne Feinstein is already drafting legislation that would make it illegal to sell tickets.

This should tell you something ... for the first time in history the Postal Service is going to lay off workers.

How much of your tax dollars are spent on your town's Christmas decorations? Some things are about to change.

A man in the UK was taken to court because his trash can fell over and the government fined him for "incorrectly placed his rubbish bags beside his collecting receptacle."

A Boeing 737 flying in Europe had to make an emergency landing after it was attacked by birds.

The world's ugliest dog has died. I have the world's cutest dog.
