AND YOU CONTINUE TO SEND YOUR CHILDREN TO GOVERNMENT SCHOOLS

Yes, I've heard it ... and you can bet we'll play it on the air today for those of you who haven't. We're talking here about the video of a government school teacher in North Carolina telling a student that her dad is going to be the military for another 100 years because she was supporting John McCain for President. Here's the video clip, for those of you who haven't seen it.

Now this teacher in the video is a woman by the name of Diantha Harris. She is employed by your tax dollars – and has been for over 25 years. The parents of the student in the video, Cathy, say that Harris didn't do anything wrong. Cathy herself says that Harris "is usually messing around" and that she wasn't upset when Harris said those statements. Keep in mind that Cathy is also in elementary school. Can she really understand what is going on here? But Cathy's parents also say that they aren't mad at the teacher and they believe that Harris is "getting a rough deal" with all the controversy. They don't want any repercussions for the teacher because "there was no harm done to anybody."

Harris has called the parents and Cathy to apologize. She says, "If I could take anything back from that video, it would be that statement. I should not have said that."

Meanwhile, Cumberland County Schools Superintendent William Harrison says that the statements were inappropriate and there will be an investigation into the incident.

How many times have I called our government schools indoctrination centers? It seems that our children are taught from day one that dependence on government is a far better course than true self reliance. They're taught so many things that are just flat-out wrong that it's hard to keep count. Let's see ... America is a Democracy ... you have a right to health care ... Republicans only care about rich people ... you have a right to vote for president ... etc. Is it any wonder that we see so many big businesses stepping up to the government bail-out trough right now? The leaders of this business were taught this stuff by their very own government teachers who-knows-how many years ago.

I'm not buying the sweet innocence of Diantha Harris. I would imagine that this type of propagandizing goes on in her classroom on a regular basis, but she's so popular with the kids that nobody wants to really call her out on this. She got caught on tape – now she's claiming that the tape was altered. Yeah ... right.

BAILING OUT THE AUTO INDUSTRY

Speaking of stepping up to the trough .. Congress is gearing up to bailout the auto industry. Nancy Pelosi and Harry Reid sent a letter to Treasury Secretary Henry Paulson to "review the feasibility . . . of providing temporary assistance to the automobile industry during the current financial crisis." Temporary? Yeah, sure. Check back with us in a year or two. The Pelosi/Reid part of the Troyka They want Paulson to use the bailout money for the auto industry because "a healthy automobile manufacturing sector is essential to the restoration of financial market security." Sorry, don't buy that one either.

The newly empowered Democrats seem eager to comply. If the request is granted, it would expand the federal government's role in private enterprise far beyond what we have seen in the financial sector. Obama's transition team says they are working on "policy options to help the auto industry adjust, weather the financial crisis and succeed in producing fuel-efficient cars." They will do this under existing laws or by passing "additional legislation."

And you'll love this ... don't forget that Congress has already voted to give $25 billion in low-interest loans to the auto industry to help them produce fuel-efficient cars and meet emissions standards. But in typical government fashion, this money "has been hung up by red tape."

YOUR 401K AND SOCIAL SECURITY

Back in October I told you about a House hearing that took place, where the chairman of the House Committee on Education and Labor Rep. George Miller said that sweeping changes are coming to the 401(k) system. Those changes could include confiscating workers' personal retirement accounts and converting them into accounts managed by the Social Security Administration. Just what we need – more government.

The real instigator is a woman I told you about by the name of Teresa Ghilarducci. She testified at this hearing and proposed that the government should eliminate tax breaks for 401(k) plans and other retirement plans. She also went on to suggest that these private pension plans should be converted into universal Guaranteed Retirement Accounts (GRAs).

And what's the motivation? Government knows best, wealth envy, wealth redistribution and power. Ghilarducci says that our current retirement system "'exacerbates income and wealth inequalities' because tax breaks for voluntary retirement accounts are 'skewed to the wealthy because it is easier for them to save, and because they receive bigger tax breaks when they do.'" Do you hear the wealth envy, folks?

Now let's get to the wealth redistribution. In October of this year Ghilarducci explains to a radio station that "I'm just rearranging the tax breaks that are available now for 401(k)s and spreading — spreading the wealth."

And why would Democrats consider a plan like this? Because according to George Miller the "Democratic Congress will continue to conduct this much-needed oversight on behalf of the American people" in regards to your pension plans. See, folks, there is the government-knows-best mentality.

I hate (love) to say this, but I've been telling you for over 10 years that if the Democrats are ever returned to full control of our government our pension plans are going to be in jeopardy. A plan to seize a portion of your 401K and pension plans was being discussed during the early years of the Clinton administration .. then abandoned when the Republicans moved into the Capitol. Just a few weeks ago the President of Argentina announced a plan to seize all private pension plans there. This one's a no-brainer, my friends. All the Democrats have to do is wave the wealth-envy flag; talk about all the advantages the rich had in setting up these plans – advantages that cost the middle and lower class their opportunities to do the same. So, "it's only fair," that these pension plans be seized and rolled into some type of government plan that benefits everyone, not just the evil rich. We're talking about somewhere around $4 trillion dollars here, and that's big change to Obamacons – change you can believe it.

And then, of course, there's the power thing. For decades the Democrats have been playing the "If you vote for the Republicans they'll make you _______! (Just fill in the blank.) Since 1952 the mantra was "If you vote for Republicans they'll take away your Social Security." Just think how powerful the message will be when the Democrats say "If you vote for Republicans they'll make you pay for your own retirement."

Be sure to read up on the government seizing half of your pension plan if you die, only allowing half of your pension to be left to your family. And that's just the beginning.

WHO WILL OBAMA APPOINT TO THE FCC?

There are some rumors that Obama could appoint a man by the name of Henry Rivera to head a transition team for the FCC. Rivera used to be FCC commissioner during the Reagan years. Once he left, the Fairness Doctrine was repealed, which allowed talk radio to flourish. Rivera, by the way, believes in a doctrine of "communications policy as a civil rights issue".

If appointed, Rivera will have the chance in 2009 to replace current Republican Robert McDowell because he term expires. That will give the FCC a three-vote Democrat majority. Even if it is not Rivera, whoever Obama appoints could be very telling for talk radio's future. Keep in mind that the Fairness Doctrine is not a law, it is simply FCC regulation.

EMANUEL AND FREDDIE MAC

Some interesting information about Barack Obama's new chief of staff Rahm Emanuel ... Emanuel served on the board of directors for Freddie Mac at the same time that Freddie misreported billions in profits in order to deceive investors. Bill Clinton appointed Emanuel to the board of Freddie Mac in 2000 where he served for 13 months until resigning to run for Congress. It turns out that at the same time, 2000 to 2002, Freddie Mae misreported billions of dollars. In the SEC complaint, the entire board (including Emanuel) was accused by the Office of Federal Housing Enterprise Oversight of "failed in its duty to follow up on matters brought to its attention."

Ahhh ... but who really cares.
