DEMOCRATS NOT TO BLAME? NONSENSE First off .. my apologies to my listeners (I hate doing this) for taking a vacation. No ... seriously. There's never a perfect time to be gone for a week, and this is less perfect than others. That would be because this is my debut week with KSKY in Dallas. I'm so proud to be on that station with so many other fine hosts ... including my friend Mike Gallagher. You see ... I have this nephew who lives in California and he decided to up and get married ... and this is the week. So I'm out here on some sort of a big family deal. I tried to get him to change his wedding date when I found out about KSKY .. but he looked at me like I had just grown a third eye. No matter ... I'm still getting him some his and hers matching coffee cups for a wedding present. Now .. .about Nancy Pelosi. She says the Democrats share absolutely none of the blame for the current financial goings-on. She's wrong. In fact, she's lying because she knows here statement to be untrue. I'm going to unload on this when I get back, but here's your primer: 1. Almost all of the financial problems we see today are based on bad mortgage lending. That would be lending money to people to buy homes who didn't qualify for a loan. 2. The Democrats, under Clinton, strengthened a government-created monster called the "Community Reinvestment Act." This law was then used by "activists" and "community organizers" (like Obama?) to coerce lending institutions to make these bad loans ... millions of them. 3. Now we see what happens when political "wisdom" supplants good loan underwriting. When private financial institutions are virtually forced to make loans to people with a bad credit and job history .. this is what you get. Enjoy it. The Democrats have offered us a candidate who is very anti-private sector. Obama believes that America is great because of government and those who, like him, deride the profit motive. If Americans are stupid enough to believe his socialist drivel and put him in office .. .then we will get just what we so richly deserve. This week is just a preview. These are going to go fast! READING ASSIGNMENTS Nancy Pelosi actually believes that the Democrats bear absolutely none of the responsibility for the current situation on Wall Street. Unbelievable. Remember that columnist who said that if Obama loses, we are going to experience a race war? She has revised her stance: we are already in a race war. The Obama campaign is targeting a talk radio station, yet again, over advertisements that are "anti-Barack." The good news is that the Department of Justice is not going to play this little witch hunt game with the Obama campaign. Harry Reid blasted Phil Gramm for the current Wall Street dilemmas because Gramm was responsible for legislation that deregulated the financial service industries ... legislation that Harry Reid and Joe Biden supported in 1999. Chuck Norris says that a revolution is coming ... and the FairTax is a part of it. A joint report from the liberal Third Way think tank and the conservative Heritage Foundation declares that nuclear energy would vastly benefit the US. Well duh. John McCain and Al Gore apparently have one thing in common ... their knack for technical innovation. A CNN analyst says that the Obama campaign welcomed these "horrific" Wall Street headlines. The latest Sarah Palin smear from US Weekly ... she has a tanning bed! Something that she personally paid for. A student in Texas says she is forbidden to wear rosary beads to her government high school because they could be interpreted as gang symbols. Here's an editorial from Santa Fe, New Mexico: Kids share plenty of blame for our (government) schools' failings. And we wonder why we are experiencing the wussifcation of America ... almost every child in the United States plays video games. Police in Nigeria have arrested a Muslim preacher for having 86 wives. His crime? "Infringing on Islamic laws." Wait, we thought Richard Cohen was friendly to John McCain. Guess not so much anymore. In an effort to be fair and balanced, let's see what the Daily Show had to say about Sarah Palin. |
