THE CHOSEN ONE ... JOSEPH BIDEN
What fun this is going to be for talk radio. The Big O has decided that Delaware Senator Joseph Biden will be his right hand man. Last week on Nealz Nuze we chronicled some classic Joe Biden moments ... but from a man who once supported John McCain as a vice presidential option for John Kerry in 2004, he poses a funny choice for The Messiah. That's funny peculiar, not funny ha ha.
Biden, like Obama, is a teleprompter kinda guy. He isn't known for his eloquence off the cuff (in fact, he is known for his politically incorrect comments) and he is notoriously long-winded. But perhaps the reason that Obama chose Biden as his running mate is because of his foreign policy experience. Biden has been the Chairman of the Senate Foreign Relations Committee since June of 2001. But even the AP says that choosing Biden was a show of lack of confidence for the Obama campaign. After all, Obama has criticized McCain for being a "Washington insider" ... everything that embodies Joseph Biden. Oh, wait. Biden rides Amtrak to work every day; According to B.O. that makes everything different. Moveon.org is already furious at the lack of adoration for Obama's choice. In fact, they published a letter complaining about the AP's article "Biden pick shows lack of confidence," saying that is "sounded more like right-wing FOX than an unbiased news organization." The Obama campaign has been pushing this notion of Biden being a family man ... they are trying furiously paint him as a man that is in touch with middle class America. Clearly Obama knows that he need some help in the elitist department. So that is why we are going to throw this comment into the mix to stir the puddin'. How about a remark from Mr. Humble himself, Joseph Biden, asserting that he had a higher IQ than a C-SPAN reporter. When asked about his law school record, Biden looked at the questionnaire and said, "I think I have a much higher I.Q. than you do." Then he went on to say that he ''went to law school on a full academic scholarship - the only one in my class to have a full academic scholarship ... he ''ended up in the top half'' of his class and won a prize in an international moot court competition ... he was ''the outstanding student in the political science department'' and ''graduated with three degrees from college.'' All of which turned out to be untrue. CONSERVATIVE HOST? GOOD LUCK.
We got the word last night that the Democrats were going to specifically ignore any conservative talk show hosts at the convention. Since we are here under the auspices of the Talk Radio News Service, we may get a few breaks ... but as things stand now it will be the lefties like my friends Bill Press and Ed Schultz will get the guests. Don't worry ... my puddin' stirrer is in full mode. | | Pro War vs. Anti War Our engineer, Charles, wandered into a protest at the convention Sunday. What happens when the pro war and anti war protestors meet? Well, check it out for yourself. | | Boortz On Video |
BUREAUCRATS IN JACKSONVILLE
Many of our listeners from Jacksonville were outraged by this story. It seems as though government bureaucrats in Jacksonville were given preferential treatment during TS Faye. U.S. Rep. Corrine Brown asked that the Mayor's office help protect her house from flooding ... and they obliged. Adam Hollingsworth, chief of staff for Mayor John Peyton says that he ordered crews to help a "single woman" cope during the storm ... and that woman happened to be Corrine Brown. In a testament to government service, Brown says that had to "call and call and call, just like anybody else" before she was able to get any help from the city.
Ronnie Simmons, Brown's chief of staff, said Brown made to the call to the city after trying to get help from FEMA and the Army Corps of Engineers. Simmons says that she hopes Brown didn't get any special treatment but "as much as she does for the city, she should get help' because the water was a foot deep in her house." Another one of our favorite Jacksonville bureaucrats also received special help ... City Councilwoman Denise Lee. Remember when former Jaguar's player Tony Boselli tried to open a community center in Jacksonville? It was Denise Lee who had her thong in a wad because gawd forbid someone other than the government do something for her community and she not get credit for it. Moving right along, Hollingsworth also told city workers to deliver sand bags to the city's darling Denise Lee. Lee was contacted by the mayor's office Friday afternoon to tell her that a nursing home was being evacuated in her district. Hollingsworth also asked whether or not she needed assistance and although claiming to say that she didn't, city workers showed up at her house anyway with sandbags. Her neighbors were infuriated when six or seven city trucks pulled up to Lee's house and began carrying sandbags onto her property ... that was until the neighbors complained, and the city workers began taking the sandbags back out to their trucks. PRAISING COMMUNISM
Did anybody happen to catch another non-teleprompter comment from Barack Obama? This one should come as no surprise from the candidate who has been officially endorsed by the Communist Party. While China continues to be the subject of controversy considering the Olympic games, Obama actually suggested that "the United States should aspire to do as the communists do and 'invest' in our 'infrastructure,' the way the Chinese government has done in Beijing." At a campaign stop in Chester, Virginia Obama said, "everybody's watching what's going on in Beijing right now and the Olympics. Think about the amount of money that China has spent on infrastructure. Their ports, their train systems, their airports are all vastly superior to us now, which means if you're a corporation deciding where to do business, you're starting to think, Beijing looks like a pretty good option." So not only is Obama praising the Chinese government, but he honestly believes that it takes government in order to make a country great. He honestly thinks that spending your tax dollars will be what makes our country more appealing to corporations ... no mention of the brutally high corporate interest rates in the United States. Maybe that's a reason, Obama, why businesses wouldn't look to the United States as a great place to invest? I guess that's the not the way the "progressive" mind sees it though. GEORGIA ON MY MIND
A comment on a Yahoo message board has caught the eye of the world. A woman by the name of Jessica B, saying she is from Georgia, posted her brilliant thoughts about the conflict between Russia and Georgia. Here's what she posted, "I live in georegia but i dont see rusia no where not even sound but they says theres tanks should i be worrie ... i herd on the news that rusia has invaded but i dont see them no where wats going on."
Now, many people are saying that this is just a hoax ... a way for somebody to embarrass us country folks down here the in good ole' South. Take it for what you will, but the UK seems to believe it's real. READING ASSIGNMENTS Here's something to keep in mind, if Obama and Biden win in November, John Kerry could be next in line as Chairman of the Senate Foreign Relations Committee. It just keeps getting worse and worse. Nancy Pelosi isn't making friends with veterans after censoring military posters in the House corridors. Imagine an Obama Pelosi Reid government. We'll keep an eye on this story for you ... Obama's campaign paid more than $800,000 to an offshoot organization of ACORN. This is a real column, folks: "Jesus Was Dark, Liberal: Why Fear Obama?" Can't make this stuff up. I'm getting so tired of these articles ... from Slate magazine: Racism is the only reason McCain might beat Barack Obama. Whether we like it or not, Barack Obama is the first Generation X presidential candidate. Apparently a lawyer and Hillary Clinton supporter has filed a lawsuit against Barack Obama, claiming that he is constitutionally ineligible to run for president. Horsesqueeze. These Obama sneakers are apparently what the cool kids are wearing these days. Your good news of the day is that illegal immigrants are returning to Mexico in record numbers. Medicare had a 31.5% error rate in 2006 costing you, the taxpayers, $2.8 billion ... and according to Pete "Forney" Stark, this is all the fault of the Bush administration. Texas has started tracking government students who notoriously skip school with GPS ankle bracelets. A condominium association in Delaware is threatening to fine homeowners $100 if they fail to attend their HOA meetings. A local paper here in Atlanta believes that the minimum wage still isn't high enough ... Here's an enlightening article (or not) about how the mortgage "crisis" is affecting teenagers. Even worse than teenagers, pot belly pigs are being affected by the mortgage "crisis." Government workers in Alabama are going to be charged extra insurance fees for being blubberbutts.. In an effort to save on gas, government school bus drivers in Fort Kent, Maine will no longer be able to turn left. Gotta love this ... a restaurant in the UK is starting to charge blubberbutt children more for their lunch. Imagine that you accuse a woman of murder but can't find a way to put her in jail ... because she weighs 1,000lbs. This guy was undoubtedly educated by the government. |
