THE ARROGANCE!

Now picture this. A man with some community organizing experience and 142 whole days in the United States Senate (before he switched into campaign mode, that is) meets with the U.S. Commander in Iraq. After General Petraeus tells Obama that a timetable for withdrawal would be wrong – that withdrawal should be based on conditions and results, not a calendar. So what does Our Savior do after his meeting? Well, he basically says that Petraeus is wrong and he is right and that as commander in chief a timetable it will be.

Question: Can anyone name a war that the United States has won that was fought on a timetable? Just wondering.

One more little oddity yesterday. Reporters had to repeatedly remind Obama staffers that he was not, in fact, the president of the United States. In response to questions Obama staffers repeatedly acted as if they were speaking for a president rather than a candidate. How sure are they of victory in November? Try 100 percent.

AMERICANS DON'T CARE IF THE SURGE WORKED

This is how far the lamestream media has come in their fawning promotion of the candidacy of Barack Obama. Yesterday on the program I played a clip of Obama mipping and mupping about whether or not he would still support the troop surge in Iraq. His inevitable answer was indecipherable. That's the glib Barack Obama you all can love and worship.

But moving right along ... NBC newsman (and ardent Obama worshipper) Davis Shuster (who is infamous for his comment about "pimping out" Chelsea Clinton) stuck his foot in it again. But this time, the lamestream media isn't going to get its knickers in a knot. Shuster appeared yesterday morning on MSNBC's "Morning Joe" where he was asked about Obama's comment on the troop surge. Here's how it went:

WILLIE GEIST: David, shouldn't Barack Obama just come out and concede that the surge has worked, but here's where we go from here?

DAVID SHUSTER: You know, I suppose he could, but the bottom line is that Americans don't care. I mean, when 60% of Americans say the war should not have been fought to begin with, it's sort of like saying, you know what, you know that last-place baseball game the other night? Maybe the Giants should have pitched the fellow -- you know, people don't care. If they don't believe the war should have been fought, then what's happening right now, whether the surge is successful or not, is really sort of secondary.

So there you go. That's a liberals' perspective on why Obama doesn't need to concede that the troop surge worked – because Americans didn't want us to be there anyway and they just don't care if the surge worked or not. After all, we have a new season of American Idol coming up. We're in a war .. a war we were perhaps losing, and a war that we're now winning because of a change in strategy – the surge – and this Obama myrmidon says that people just really don't care. Yeah ... go tell that to the men and women who are risking their lives fighting in Iraq.

PORTRAIT OF OBAMA

You can't make this stuff up, folks. We have a Palestinian artist by the name of Walid Ayyoub who apparently is a Barack Obama supporter. He loves Barack Obama so much that he felt compelled to sketch his portrait along with a peace dove. Seriously.

Among Walid's other works ... Che Guevara, Abdel Aziz Rantisi (a Hamas terrorist), Jesus and Yasser Arafat. So that's two portraits of The Messiah, and the rest of terrorists.

These are the people that are supporting Barack Obama. While Palestinians cannot vote in our elections, it just shows you the type of idol-like love for Barack Obama, not just in America but throughout the world. Forget this being the American Idol election --- it's the World Idol election.

Six Newsweek covers so far this year for Obama! Two for McCain. But there can't possibly be any bias at work here, can there? Yeah, right.
Who do you think is more provacative on the cover of Newsweek?
Barack Obama
John McCain

A LITTLE FACT

Here's a little something for all of you wealth-envy types ... In 2007, audits of people who earned more than $1 million increased by 84%. That's good, right? The evil, filthy, corrupt, nasty, obnoxious, decadent, rancid rich bastards deserve it, don't you think?

IT'S FOR THE CHILDREN

Michelle Obama is holding down the fort in America while Obama is in Europe and the Middle East. The other day, Michelle attended a fundraiser in Denver where she had this to say, "I wish we had time to be divided. I wish we had time to be upset. To be angry. To be disappointed. I wish we did," Obama said. "Because if we had time for that, then things wouldn't be so bad right now. Instead, we're in a place where another four or eight years of the world as it is will devastate the life of some child."

I'll tell you what will have a far greater impact on the life of a child in this country ... choosing to hand them over to the government to be educated. This goes back to that quote from a Barack Obama supporter month ago, "I want a president who will solve my problems." I'm sorry, folks, but no matter who is elected, the greatest damage that can be done to a child is sending them to a government school ... and that has nothing to do with who is president but it has everything to do with your choice as a parent.

Now where Obama could make a difference is by supporting school vouchers, but unfortunately that is not the case. Instead, he would rather spend even more of your tax money to improve a decrepit excuse for a government program.

THE LATEST GLOBAL WARMER

The latest evil, heinous contributor to global warming is ... television advertising. Australia has determined that television advertising produces as much as 57 tons of carbon dioxide per hour. And the 30 second commercials are the worst offenders.

A consulting firm has been doing the study. It claims that carbon emissions are particularly high during high-rating programs, which happen to be reality TV and local news. It is trying to become the first company to standardize the measurement of the carbon footprints of advertising.

Now .. haven't I said repeatedly that this idiotic global warming nonsense is really a campaign being waged by anti-capitalist leftists? What can be more capitalistic than advertising? If your true goal is to hamstring the free market, why not go after advertising?

How sad that so many people have bought into this bullshit. But then ... consider our education system.

A WARM FUZZY FOR THE TALKMASTER

This from a listener:

I just wanted to say bravo to you for your participation in the panel discussion about talk radio recently in London--just finished watching the webcast. I felt extremely well represented by you not just as an American but as a talk show listener. I may be biased, but I thought you were the most outstanding member of the panel. In addition to your show, I avidly listen to BBC Radio via the web, but not their news, and the lady from BBC who was on the panel seemed very patronizing to me, as if she could not give listeners credit to be thinkers as well. Anyway, that's just my two cents, but thanks so much for your excellent input across the pond.

Clearly a person of immense breeding and taste.

READING ASSIGNMENTS

BOORTZ JOINT BOOK SIGNING!
Atlanta area listeners, Monday, July 28th, Neal will be having a joint book signing with Don Corace. Neal will be signing the new paperback of Somebody's Gotta Say It and Don will be signing his new book Government Pirates (read a preview of the book here!). 7pm at Books-a-Million, Discovery Mills, Lawrenceville, GA.
Let's take a look at the latest edition of the Cyberalert from the Media Research Center. This edition deals with the media love affair with Obama.

Read this article from the National Enquirer. I know ... tabloid and all that. But the Enquirer broke several stories during the corrupt Clinton years. So ... read this about John Edwards little alleged rendezvous .. and make up your own mind. Let's see if this filters into the MSM.

The New York Post has published the John McCain op-ed that the New York Times refused to run unless it "mirrored" Barack Obama's. I guess the Post doesn't have a requirement that Republican presidential candidates must adopt certain aspects of newspaper editorial policy before they will be allowed to publish their op-eds.

John McCain isn't blind to this obvious fact: "The media is in love." And here's another obvious statement from McCain: "Obama would rather lose a war in order to win a political campaign." There are a lot of politicians like that.

We'll be having Dick Morris on today to talk about the latest Barackobamamania. Here's his latest column.

A Continental Airlines flight carrying several members of Congress had to make an emergency landing yesterday. That pilot deserves every penny of his salary.

John McCain could steal some of Obama's thunder this week by announcing his choice for Vice President. Right now, a lot of people are predicting Mitt Romney.

We have created a giant assisted-care living center in this country. Here's a great article by Terry Paulson: "Too many Americans have a need for a 12-step program to help break their addiction to government assistance."

The Democrats are well on their way to reining in energy speculators, which they blame for high oil prices.

Barack Obama doesn't want any of his staffers to wear green while visiting the Middle East, because someone might mistake it as supporting Hamas.

Here's something we can look forward to in this country ... Great Britain's media regulator has declared that a documentary skeptical of global warming broke some broadcasting rules.

The United States is offering to cut farm subsidies in order to "rescue" a global trade deal ... but developing countries are still whining.

Time Magazine wants its readers to support a national service campaign to promote legislation for more federal government programs of volunteering. Just what we need ... more government.

It shouldn't surprise you at all to learn that OwlGore supports a surcharge on jet fuel because "private aviation leaves a very large carbon footprint." I'm sure getting way tired of this idiot.

Traditional media vs. mainstream media ... what's the difference? It's all biased.

The University of Florida is upset with the Facebook pages of some of its students ... particularly one with a student wearing a lab coat labeled "Kevorkian Medical Clinic."

Residents in Australia seem to think that ambulances are like a taxi service.

Vanity Fair has a little fun with all the brouhaha over The New Yorker's Obama cover with a cover of their own. Here's a bigger version.
