OK .. SO NOW WE KNOW THE "WHY" OF 9/11.

Heard this gem on Brit Hume's Special Report last night. Apparently it was contained within that New Yorker article on Barack Obama; you remember, the one with the controversial cover.

Apparently a newspaper called the Hyde Park Herald carried some statements from Barack Obama just one week after the Islamic terrorist killed 3000 people in New York and Washington. It was in that paper that Barack Obama, the probable next president of our country, shared with us his thoughts on the motivations of the Islamic terrorists who killed so many on that day:

"The essence of this tragedy ... derives from a fundamental absence of empathy on the part of the attackers."

Oh yeah .. that's exactly what we were thinking at the time, wasn't it?

Then Our Savior goes on to explain this "absence of empathy." -- It grew out of a "... climate of poverty and ignorance, helplessness and despair."

So there you have it. Are you paying attention here? This, unless we experience a sudden maturing of the electorate, is our next commander in chief. This is the man who will bear the responsibility of protecting us from the designs of these Islamic radicals who have nothing but hatred and murder in their hearts. Oh ... but that's not the way Our Savior sees it. In Obama's world the Islamic terrorists who attacked us on 9/11 weren't acting out of any hatred for their victims. They weren't trying to use terrorist tactics to influence American politics. They weren't gallantly fighting for the cause of Islam. No .. none of that. They were just poor and ignorant. They felt helpless, and their despair drove them to fly airplanes into the twin towers in New York and the Pentagon in Washington.

Come on, folks. Are you really ready to put this insipid fool in the White House?

BARACK'S VIEWS ON AFGHANISTAN

On the U.S. support of Afghanistan...
the U.S. needs to provide more support
the amount of support the U.S. is providing is fine
the U.S. needs to reduce the amount of support
hey, where are the pictures of Brad & Angelina's babies?
The tactic here is simple. Now that progress is being seen in the Iraq front; now that it is starting to look like victory in Iraq is a probability – al Qaeda is on the run – suddenly the discussion returns to Afghanistan. Obama and the Democrats are telling us that our real failures now are in Afghanistan ... and that is where we should concentrate our efforts. Well – here's a look into the future. If we should redeploy troops to Afghanistan and put the Taliban and Afghanistan on the run there, and if they should then move their terrorist operations to Iraq – would Obama then start citing our failures in Afghanistan and say that our concentration needs to be on Iraq? Why of course he would. This is the game that's being played by the Democrats.

By the way ... speaking of the Taliban, do you think they are just poor and ignorant and are motivated by fear and helplessness?

REJECTED BY THE NEW YORK TIMES

Perhaps the real problem with this story is that, given the media's infatuation with Barack Obama, we can easily believe it is true. This all starts a week or so ago when Barack Obama submits an op-ed to the New York Times, (hereinafter the "Times").* Obama's submission discussed his timetable for withdrawal (surrender?) in Iraq. A few days later John McCain submits an op-ed piece on the same subject. Is it published? Nope, not a chance. The piece is returned to McCain with instructions for a re-write. David Shipley, the Times op-ed editor, told McCain that for his op-ed to be accepted for publication "It would also have to lay out a clear plan for achieving victory – with troops levels, timetables and measures for compelling the Iraqis to cooperate." In other words ... we here at the Times will establish the agenda and you will write to that agenda .. then we'll publish your piece.

The problem here is that John McCain has steadfastly refused to endorse the idea of timetables in the war in Iraq. The Times then takes it upon itself to tell McCain that they are not going to publish his views on the war unless he includes timetables. Are you getting this folks. This is the level of commitment that the Times has to the election of the Great and Powerful Obama in November. They won't even publish his opponent's thoughts unless he toes the line with some of Obama's ideas.

Isn't that just priceless? Do any of you think for a minute that if Obama submitted a piece to the Times that he would be asked to do a rewrite to match the style of John McCain?

Meanwhile, here's what the Public Editor of the opinion columns had to say back in 2007: The Danger of One-Sided Debate (but only when you agree).

*What the hell. If I'm going to reactivate my law license, I may as well start trying to write like a lawyer..

THIS IS WHY OBAMA NEEDS A SCRIPT

Last night Obama had to field an off-the-cuff question from ABC News: "If you had it to do over again, knowing what you know now, would you support the surge?"

Well .. there was a small problem. This was not a question that Barack's handlers had prepared him for. He had no script. He had to ad lib, and for Obama that's not good. Sit down folks. Here is Barack's answer. See if you can make any sense at all out of this. Remember, this is the man who wants to be our Commander in Chief responding to a question dealing with military matters. So ... we at the Nuze are now proud to present Obama's answer to the difficult question "If you had to do it over again, knowing what you know now, would you support the surge:"

"No, because keep in mind that question, you wouldn't ... but keep in mind that kind of hypothetical is very difficult to know hindsight is 20-20 ... later ... but I think that what I'm absolutely convinced of is that at that time we had to change the political debate because the view of the Bush administration at that time was one that I just disagreed with."

Wow! Now that's just amazing! What off-the-cuff eloquence! This guy is really sharp. Now we all know why Barack Obama would still vote against the surge ... the troop surge that worked.

Lordy, folks. We have to get over this mass hysteria and start to get serious about selecting our next president. This is just getting ridiculouser and ridiculouser.

OBAMA'S MUSLIM LIAISON

The Barack Obama campaign feels the need to create a new position within his campaign: a Muslim liaison ... whatever in the hell that is. But it can be assumed that this is the person Barack will rely on to connect him to the Muslim community in America. This is the same community that was insulted by the recent cover of the New Yorker.

The person likely to fill the new job is a woman by the name of Hiam Nawas who is from Jordan. She apparently played a similar role in General Wesley Clark's campaign in 2004. In an article published in 2005, Nawas wrote. "We need to recognize that the social structure in the Muslim world is very different from America's ... American women need to understand that what is best for them is not necessarily what is best for Muslim women. Advocacy of women's rights in the Muslim world must show sensitivity to local political realities." Nawas wants to focus her battle on "practical" rights such as the right to education, health, and equal pay for equal work. And let's not forget foot baths and toilets that don't face Mecca.

STRUGGLING WITH THE SECOND AMENDMENT

The government bureaucrats of the DC City Council just can't get over the fact that the Supreme Court has upheld your individual right to keep and bear arms. Poor poor pitiful beltway politicians! So rather than repealing their ban on handguns, the council created a new exception -- the handgun ban does not apply to people who want to register a pistol for use in self-defense in the home. This means that anyone purchasing a handgun to protect a business or for sport shooting is still in violation of the law.

And to make matters worse, another thing the Supreme Court declared unconstitutional was the requirement that guns have a trigger lock. Well, the DC officials have an answer for that one too. Under their new legislation you can have a gun assembled, loaded and unlocked "only while it is being used." This would mean that the only way to lawfully have an unlocked gun in your home is during the actual occurrence of a break-in or home invasion. They you can go get your gun, unlock it, put it together, load it and then protect yourself. There are no similar restrictions on the predators breaking into your home. Let's just home that the predator who breaks into your home is the patient type.

What we have here is the DC city council in a snit. They carried this case to the Supreme Court and got their butts kicked ... and now they're pouting. This will simply lead to another law suit against the city, and another federal court telling them that they're off the mark. More wasted taxpayer money.

Your government at work.

MUSLIM SUBWAY ADVERTISING

An Islamic group has decided that it is going to inundate New York subway trains with advertisements for Islam. The ads will run during the month of September. The problem? The campaign is being promoted by an imam who has been linked to a plot to blow up landmarks throughout New York City.

The Islamic campaign is being called the Subway Project and its intended purpose is to "explain the true nature of Islam to non-Muslims who believe the religion is bent of acts of violence." It is supposed to reach out to those people who are interested in becoming Muslim. The ads will feature questions and you get the answers by calling (877) WHY-ISLAM or to visit whyislam.org.

But then, they have Sirah Wahhaj, a Brooklyn imam, appearing in promotional video for the project. This imam defends terrorists and calls the FBI and the CIA the "real terrorists." He also was one of the 170 unindicted co-conspirators in the 1993 World Trade Center bombing, among others. This is really the best representation they could get for their religion of peace?

THE CARBON BOMB

Are you ready for the latest global warming scare? Wetlands. They are more dangerous then you think, and destroying them could lead to the end of the world! Seriously ... if the wetlands are destroyed, we could be the victims of a planet-warming "carbon bomb."

About one-fifth of all the carbon on earth is contained in wetlands, which is about the same amount of carbon currently found in the atmosphere. Wetlands are not only swamps, they are marshes, peat bogs, river deltas, mangroves, tundra, lagoons and river flood plains. They account for 6% of the Earth's land surface.

So you can bet your boxers that environmentalists will jump on this one ... all in the name of global warming.

DAMNED BY FAINT PRAISE!

Someone emailed the show this review of one of my books that appeared on Amazon.com about three years ago. Somehow I think that this guy has a bit of a problem with me.

Boortz tells it like it is.....PLEASE! Boortz is a small time nobody doing a fascist radio program trying hard to break into the big time by making outrageous comments, and sensational statements meant to stir controversy so he can get on the Limbaugh gravy train. Boortz does not have ONE original thought, just a slew of hateful comments meant to rile his white male listeners with an enemy he constantly needs to point out to his pretty uninformed audience.....LIBERALS!!!! You know who you are!!!!! Boortz equates Liberals with the most deadliest of viruses that attacks and kills its host. It's a tired formula which Boortz mines over and over. It keeps his audience from thinking for themselves. He'll glady do your thinking for you, mind you. As usual Boortz facts come from partisan think tanks and uber-conservative magazines, not facts and truth, he cooks the books everytime figures and dollar amounts come into play, but it doesn't matter, his audience is not interested in checking his facts out themselves, they are glad to accept his word as the word of God. After all, why would some rich ex-lawyer lie to them? Which brings us to a bigger point... Boortz rarely ever uses facts to back up his arguments, which keeps him from being exposed as a lier more often than not. He only gives opinions and his small audience (yes, it really is small) asks for no quarter. This book is no different from his show. Boortz justs makes statements the reader has to just accept as fact without verification to buy into his dogma. Its really a simpleton's primer for politics. ANY good political science major in college can take apart most of Boortz's arguments handily, but alas, they never seem to make it on his call in show. Isn't that curious? What are the odds? Boortz's radio show uses the time-tested method of heavily screening callers and only allowing the most weaks argumenmts against his "facts" being allowed to make it on air only to so Boortz can control the callers sound so as to make them seem even more ignorant. It's all really old hat. Boortz rarely ever makes appearances on political opponents shows because he can't control the situation, thus on his rare appearances on liberal talk shows he's dismatled quiet easily, so his appearances on these shows are minimal. Boortz knows the score, and he knows top stay away from this scene. He's a lightweight.

Good thing I'm not (too) thin-skinned. But hey, he spelled my name right.

READING ASSIGNMENTS

BOORTZ JOINT BOOK SIGNING!
Atlanta area listeners, Monday, July 28th, Neal will be having a joint book signing with Don Corace. Neal will be signing the new paperback of Somebody's Gotta Say It and Don will be signing his new book Government Pirates (read a preview of the book here!). 7pm at Books-a-Million, Discovery Mills, Lawrenceville, GA.
I really hope you can find the time sometime today to watch this short video. It's from the Cannes Film Festival where it won the "short film" competition. It's beautifully done ... and quite frankly it made me choke up. Just a few minutes. Give it a shot. I promise you'll thank me and you'll end up sharing it with your friends.

New Rasmussen polls show that half of Americans think that the press is trying to help Obama win the presidency. Well duh. I wonder what their first clue was.

Attorney General Mike Mukasey wants Congress to explicitly declare war against al Qaeda.

Will Nancy Pelosi continue to be part of the problem by not allowing a vote on offshore drilling? Well of course she will!

And Nancy recently called George Bush "a total failure." Here's a look at how Bush couldn't have been a failure without Nancy's help.

According to the NY Governor, an Obama win would be a victory for racism.

Here's a column from the Times in London: Eventually, we will all hate Obama too.

We could be yielding 800,000 barrels of crude oil a day if we drilled in ANWAR, but instead we are worried about the caribou, polar bears, wolverines, and Arctic foxes.

Mexico has awarded Ted Kennedy with the country's highest honor for defending the rights of (illegal) immigrants throughout his time in Washington.

More government waste and abuse ... this time you can thank the government bureaucrats of Baltimore.

It took a mother losing her husband and two sons at the hands of an illegal immigrant for someone to finally get upset about San Francisco's sanctuary city policy.

AAA is picking up and moving from California to Arizona and Oklahoma because it costs too much money to do business in California.

In Norway they apparently "pay their taxes with joy." This is eventually what we can look forward to in this country ... or else.

Here we have some inconvenient truths for OwlGore to swallow. And when Al asks you to use public transportation to attend one of his speeches, clearly that does not apply to him.

Prosecutors dropped all charges against a government school teacher in Florida who took a handgun on to school property.

This guy must truly be government educated. Be prepared to lose a few brain cells.

Parents in New York City are upset that the government hasn't done anything about hot playground equipment.

Long time Boortz listeners will know that I just love tweaking so-called "creationists" on the show. Yeah, right. The earth is around six thousand years old. How do these people survive in a complex society? Anyway, let the tweaking continue. Here's "How blind salamanders make nonsense of creationists' claims."
