NEAL LIVE FROM THE UK

Today, Neal will be coming to you live from across the pond 9-11:30am ET. That translates to, well, whatever time zone you're in or whenever your station carries the show. Check out some pictures of Neal with Stephanie Miller on Sky News. Also, see a live webcast of the event Neal Boortz was invited by U.S. Embassy London to participate in on the Embassy's website. Starts at 1:30pm ET.

GIVING CHILDREN EVERYTHING THEY NEED

Barack Obama recently made a speech to one of my favorite groups ... the American Federation of Teachers. This is perhaps the most dangerous group in the United States, because it is responsible for the destruction of generation after generation in this country.

But in this speech, Obama says that real change means "finally giving our kids everything they need to have a fighting chance in today's world." Not opening up opportunities or rewarding hard work ... we ought to give our children everything. Entitlement culture. Making children reliant on the government.

And if that isn't bad enough, Obama actually believes that government school teachers are more important than parents. He says, "That begins with recognizing that the single most important factor in determining a child's achievement is not the color of their skin or where they come from; it's not who their parents are or how much money they have. It's who their teacher is." So for all of you who continue to hand your children over to the government to be educated, just remember that their teacher, according to Barack Obama, will have a more profound impact on your child than you will.

ARE YOU "SMART ENOUGH"?

President Bush got one right ... well, half right. Unlike Barack Obama, President Bush realizes that it is not the government's role to tell you to drive less, buy a smaller car or set your thermostat to a certain temperature. Unlike Barack Obama, President Bush does not want to use the force of government to tell you how to live your lives and spend your money ... particularly in the name of global warming. Yesterday the president said that "he will not call on Americans to conserve gasoline despite the rising price of oil, saying consumers are "smart enough" to figure out for themselves that they should drive less." Unfortunately, the second part of this is statement is not true. If Americans were smart enough, they would recognize the fact that we are electing a President, not a parent ... after all, it was during this primary season that someone said "I want Obama to be our president so he can go to Washington and fix our problems" ... or something to that effect. If the people were smart enough, they would see passed Obama's "change" rhetoric, the color of his skin or his charisma. If people were smart enough, they wouldn't continue to elect the same hacks into Congress year after year, they wouldn't continue to hand their children over to the government to be educated and they would celebrate freedom rather than looking to the government for a handout.

President Bush has faith in the American people. I, however, fail to believe that the people of this country still want freedom. Maybe Obama is giving Americans exactly what they want – a government that will tell them how to live their lives. After all, this is the "I want my mommy election."

THE EPA WANTS MORE REGULATION

The Environmental Protection Agency is determined to do everything it can to regulate your lives. Last Friday the EPA issued an Advanced Notice of Proposed Rulemaking ... that's a fancy way of saying "asinine government regulations on the economy and your lives."

Take this one for example. The EPA wants to get its hands on your lawnmower. Yep. The agency wants to require different regulations and units of emissions requirement for every single piece of equipment that pollutes ... that includes things like lawnmowers.

It says, "[E]ach application could require a different unit of measure tied to the machine's mission or output– such as grams per kilogram of cuttings from a "standard" lawn for lawnmowers and grams per kilogram-meter of load lift for forklifts."

Sounds like a bunch of government BS to me. Imagine the amount of tax dollars that will be spent creating these regulations and enforcing these regulations. But this is your government at work.

SOME LOVE FOR THE TALKMASTER

Subject: government schools

Hey Neal, Just wanted to say thanks for all you do. About a year ago my wife and I decided to pull our two daughters out of public,uh,government schools. You opened my eyes to the true agenda of dumbing down our nation. Not only are most of the students clueless, so are the teachers! Both my daughters, ages 16 and 17,breezed through their GED tests. The 17 year old finished her first semester of college with a 4.0,studying criminal justice. The 16 year old begins college in a couple of months. I have preached to my girls to grab every opportunity to better themselves. Thanks again for enlightning us to the truth! p.s.My 17 year old loved your book "Somebody's Gotta Say It"

REDNECK SCRAP BOOK

This redneck wedding really takes the cake waffle. Do NOT miss the slide show at the bottom of the story. It says way more than words ever could. More in the Redneck Scrap Book.

READING ASSIGNMENTS

The White House is eager to use your tax dollars to bailout Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac.

According to Barack Obama, the war in Iraq is a distraction.

Obama told the NAACP that blacks must show greater responsibility for their actions ... but the government should also provide them a better education and more economic assistance.

Barack Obama's campaign is all about "change." Thomas Sowell explains how his policies aren't really considered "change" at all.

Here's something the lamestream media probably didn't report ... as Bush announced that he was lifting the ban on offshore drilling, oil futures prices dropped over 6%.

Obama is upset that John McCain supports school vouchers.

The latest ailment as the result of global warming ... kidney stones. This is getting ridiculous, folks.

Ladies and gentlemen, your House of Representatives has been very busy ensuring that any flags flown on federal property are made in the America.

Rep. Charles Rangel ... a typical government bureaucrat.

Saudi Arabia has banned students from wearing traditional mortarboard caps for graduation "so they will not be like infidels."

We have another one of these sex offender stories from Georgia where a 17-year-old girl was labeled as a sex offender for having oral sex with a 15-year-old boy.

Sherriff Arpaio in Arizona is enduring quite a battle right now with young pro-illegal alien protesters.

A man in Central Florida has caused quite a brouhaha for a billboard featuring the burning World Trade Center and the message, "Please Don't Vote for a Democrat."

Please tell me what it wrong with this statement: A loud argument between two deaf women led to one of them being arrested.

Here we go with another one of these stories ... a dad in Great Britain is branded a "pervert" after trying to take pictures of his children in public.

First Great Britain, now in the US ... check out the regulations for having a kiddie pool in your backyard.

Is this where illegal immigration is taking us?
