A NOTE FROM NEAL Even though I'm on vacation this week ... with cell phones turned off ... I've been waiting for the Supremes to issue their ruling on our right to own guns. Finally the Supreme Court, though by a narrow margin, has ruled that the 2nd Amendment protects the rights of citizens not the rights of government. Good news for those who believe in the sanctity of the individual, bad news for those that believe we are here merely to serve the ends of government. Here's something else you may want to ponder as the uproar over this ruling spreads. (Oh, those poor Brady people). Without the appointments made to the Supreme Court by George W. Bush this probably would have been completely different. With Al Gore in the presidency your right to own a gun for self-defense would have been ripped away today. Thank you Florida .. and see you on Monday. HERMAN CAIN FILLING IN Neal Boortz's favorite fill-in, Herman Cain, will be taking over Neal's show while he is out today. You may not know he also has a weekday show of his own 7pm to 10pm every weeknights on News/Talk 750 WSB in Atlanta.
Herman Cain has a talent for cutting through and teaching you. He'll inform and entertain you on topics near to his (and your) heart-- Taxes, Government Incompetence and Waste, Campaign 2008--in Georgia and the Presidential Campaign, Immigration, The FairTax, Terrorism, and the economy. 'The Hermanator' will expose media bias--on a local and national scale. Listen...you just might learn something. You can call in to the show today as usual, or email comments to Herman here. A RANDOM SAMPLING OF HATE MAIL For no reason other than to entertain you, here's a random selection of hate mail we've collected over the years. Remember, we include some in every Boortz Blast email newsletter. READING ASSIGNMENTS Barack Obama wants the government to get its hands on your children from the moment they are born. Here's the painful truth about Barack Obama's plan to "fix" our Social Security system. This is Dick Morris' latest view on Obama's new strategy in the election. Here is some information you should read carefully about the Association of Community Organizations for Reform Now (ACORN), Barack Obama and your tax dollars. Saudi Arabia has arrested 700 Islamofacists in the past six months on the suspicion that they were plotting attacks on oil industry installations. Yesterday the Supreme Court decreased the amount of punitive damages awarded in the 1989 Exxon Valdez disaster. Five sex offenders in Georgia have filed a lawsuit because a new Georgia law bans them from volunteering at churches. Take a look at the evil rich Canadians who are making more than their "fair share" of an impact on global warming. A Commission in Madison, Wisconsin wants to ban drive-through service because people sit and idle in their cars, which contributes to global warming. Wealth envy and aviation ... it doesn't get more obvious than this. Police in Seattle are now ticketing people who drive slowly in the fast lane. Some consumer activists in Massachusetts have their boxers in a bunch because a of a bill that would allow supermarkets to avoid putting prices on each item on their shelves. Because of high gas prices ... a family decided to cut off its cable TV service. The daughters, no doubt government educated, are now protesting high gas prices. In Great Britain, a former soldier performed a citizen's arrest on a boy who was throwing rocks and eggs at his house. The soldier was then arrested by police ... for kidnapping. Ralph alerted us to this amazing photograph of the world's largest woodpecker. The woman holding it in her hands allows you to really see the scale of it. For Simpsons lovers...here's a fun way to kill 10 minutes of work time and test your character knowledge. Here's a way to make kids more eager to read 1984 in high school. |
