SORRY ABOUT THE FORMATTING I know. The formatting for Nealz Nuze has sucked this week. No little pointy hand things ... different fonts. Bad. Problem is, our winsome web wench is off on vacation, and there's no backup. I have to load the web page myself and I'm clearly incompetent. Give me a break. At least it's readable. ENJOY YOUR TALK RADIO NOW One thing for certain ... if Obama wins the FCC will take a tilt to the left. As soon as that happens the Democrats will step up their efforts to destroy talk radio. It might be through the miss-named "Fairness Doctrine," or it might be through some artifice called "localization." One way or the other, they'll do their best. We're a burr under their saddle and will not be tolerated for long. THE DEMOCRATS JUMP John McCain made an appearance on the Today Show where he made the statement that it's "not too important" when the U.S. troops return from Iraq. Naturally, the Barack Obama campaign and other Democrats have jumped at this chance to paint McCain as a senile war monger. For those of you who actually care, here is the quote in context ... Matt Lauer asked John McCain that if the surge strategy in Iraq is working, does he have a better estimate of when American forces will return home. Here's McCain's full response: "No, but that's not too important. What's important is the casualties in Iraq, Americans are in South Korea, Americans are in Japan, American troops are in Germany. That's all fine. American casualties and the ability to withdraw; we will be able to withdraw. General [David] Petraeus is going to tell us in July when he thinks we are ... But the key to it is that we don't want any more Americans in harm's way. That way, they will be safe, and serve our country and come home with honor and victory, not in defeat, which is what Senator Obama's proposal would have done. I'm proud of them. And they're doing a great job. And we are succeeding and it's fascinating that Senator Obama still doesn't realize that." So now what do you think? Is this going to be another one of those "John McCain says that we are going to be in Iraq for 100 years!" moment? Probably so. The fact of the matter is that John McCain respects our troops and believes in our mission. Compare that to Barack Obama who holds the military in complete disdain and wants them to shamefully withdraw immediately from Iraq. By the way ... reports are that the Iraqi defense forces are doing such a good job of containing the insurgency that American troops are quickly being relegated to a peacekeeper role. Bottom line? Success in Iraq is bad for Democrats. Don't ever forget that. BUSH GOES SOFT? Our president .. the president who has kept us safe from Islamic terrorist attacks for the past seven years ... is currently on his European tour. Yesterday he said he regretted his "tough rhetoric" and said he now wished he had used a different tone on the global stage. Ok .. I'll give him that point on the rhetoric. There's always that "speak softly" thing. But thank goodness he knew where the big stick was. He has protected this country from an unrelenting enemy and prevented an attack on our soil since 9/11. In the end, his number one job was to protect his country, and he did just that. Eh, I guess it really doesn't matter now. He did what he did, whether he regrets it or not. Now the real focus is on McCain and the Obamessiah and how they will handle Iraq, Iran and the future security of this country. Color and age aside .. just who do you think the Islamic goons will fear more? Certainly not Obama. OBAMA'S VP SEARCH Just yesterday we gave you information on another one of Barack Obama's "friends" Jim Johnson. Johnson was on Obama's vice presidential selection committee along with Caroline Kennedy and Eric Holder. Johnson also turns out to be a real creep. But the Obama campaign staunchly defended the guy ... after all, this probably wasn't the Jim Johnson Barack Obama knew (or at least that's becoming the common excuse). Well it didn't take long for Johnson to resign as the chairman of the VP selection committee. AMF. YOUR GOVERNMENT AT WORK In Worcester, Massachusetts the Seabury Heights Apartments is this housing complex for the elderly and handicapped. Now it is June and there is a heat wave. It has hit at least 90 degrees in Massachusetts. But in the Seabury Heights Apartments, residents are complaining because management is refusing to turn on the air conditioning. Here's where government steps in. There is this asinine state regulation that mandates that heating systems in housing for the elderly must remain operational until June 15th. The landlord says, "You just can't turn a lever and go from hot to cold. You have to shut down the heating system before you can turn on the air conditioning. There are some code requirements." Apparently last year the complex tried to turn the heat off before June 15th and residents complained. So this year management decided to stick to the state regulation and even taped the law to the wall for all residents to observe. Residents are clearly upset. Because not only is the air conditioning forbidden until June 15th but personal air conditioning units are also banned from this complex. And like any government operation, their quest for answers was fruitless. They tried contacting the Board of Health and they were referred to HUD. They tried contacting HUD and they were referred to the state. They contacted the governor's office and sent a letter to Senator Ted Kennedy. Nadda This is your government at work, ladies and gentlemen. The government regulates when an apartment complex can turn on its air conditioning ... doesn't it make common sense for the complex to turn on the air when it gets hot? That's just too logical for a government operation. Just wait until the very same government is controlling your health care! READING ASSIGNMENTS: Barack Obama says that he has smoked cigarettes within the past few months. Bright ... real bright. PETA again. These people are real whack jobs. Government lawyers are apparently trying to revive a 1998 law to keep children away from online pornography. By the way ... online pornography isn't nearly the problem with our children that you might think it is. Here's John Stossel talking about the entitlement mess in Washington. Democrats in the Senate are planning a new economic stimulus package that could be on the floor as soon as July. This is a New York Times article from 1993 ... wait 'til you read what it has to say about climate change. Apparently Congress is really concerned about the amount of visas available to fashion models. No, I am not kidding. Republican whip Roy Blunt put together this very telling chart showing the practical effects of Democrat vs. Republican policies on oil. The Chicago area has tried this "Bike to Work Week" to fight climate change ... so far, that hasn't worked out too well. Bad news for the city of Seattle ... Mayor Greg Nickels has issued an executive order for all departments to come up with a plan within 30 days to ban guns on all city property. Well .. this is Seattle we're talking about. This is your daily update on a car crash caused by an illegal immigrant in this country. Please note the "several prior traffic-related convictions," including one for drunk driving. Students at government schools in Lovington, New Mexico will not be allowed to grow facial hair because "students will perform better when more is expected of them." Let's face it though. Nothing looks quite so ridiculous as a high school stud with fuzz on his face. Government schools are resorting to tagging children with GPS tracking devices just to make sure they make it to school. A man has decided to protest his homeowners association by climbing a radio tower. Seems like a pretty silly way to handle things. I prefer broadcasting over them. The Romanian government has taken a seven-year-old boy who weighs 220 pounds out his parents' custody so that doctors can help the kid lose weight. A French Muslim couple sued a hospital after their son was born handicapped ... instead the couple ended up with a fine from the government for refusing the presence of a male intern during labor. Here's a time waster for ya ... a website that lists the dumbest laws our government could come up with |
