STUBBORN OR JUST REFUSES TO LEARN
Here we go with Cynthia Tucker again. She's the liberal (naturally!)
editorial page editor of the Atlanta Journal Constitution. She's a little
torqued about the Supreme Court's decision to allow – of all things – states to
require voters to show a picture ID before they cast a vote. With 20 million
illegal immigrants in this country, Ms. Tucker can't see why in the hell we
would want to verify identity before a vote is cast. The reason, of course, is
that she's a Democrat. Democrats don't like voter ID laws for the very reason
that they're afraid that it will keep people who are not entitled to cast a vote
away from the polls.
Anyway .... So Cynthia starts reading some of the responses to her AJC column,
and gets upset with all of those people who are telling her that there is non
Constitutional right to vote in a federal election. She retaliates by posting
this comment online:
"Ultra-conservatives and a few other fringe activists have come up with a new
interpretation of voting rights. They claim there is NO right to vote in the
U.S. Constitution. Who knew?
It's right there in the 15th, 19th and 26th amendments to the Constitution,
which declare that the "right to vote" shall not be infringed because of race,
sex or age. If there were no right to vote, it couldn't be infringed upon, could
it? These must be folks who believe that only a select few — people like them —
should be allowed to have the franchise."
Who knew, Cynthia? Well, the Supreme Court, for one. A certain law
professor at Columbia, for another. And then there's Congressman Jesse Jackson,
Jr.. They all knew. Hell, even I knew .. and I'm nothing but a hack talk show
host? Sorry, Cynthia .. but even editorial page editors for failing newspapers
can learn .. and here, from a Nealz Nuze in February of this year, is a nice
comprehensive lesson in the right to vote in federal elections:
First of all, we'll dispel the notion that this country is a democracy.
That's a principal reason that liberals use to shore up their imagined right to
vote .. then we'll move on to the right to vote thing.
For God's sake, Cynthia ... whatever you do, DON'T READ THIS. Education can
sometimes be very damaging to the liberal mind.

SORRY ... BUT IT'S HARD TO DEAL WITH
THE UNEDUCATED DUMB MASSES SOMETIMES.
Now
I know that with our system of government schools there is every excuse
for people to be badly misinformed on critical issues. Let's face it ...
these government schools have been more interested in feeding you dogma
than the truth. Let's take the idea that our country is a democracy, for
instance. I would guess that virtually every government school in this
nation teaches its hostages (students) that the United States is a
democracy. Now don't you find this just a bid odd, considering the fact
that neither the Declaration of Independence, the U.S. Constitution or
the constitutions of any of the 50 state even contain the word
"democracy?" Isn't it odder still that the Constitution specifically
says that our form of government is "Republican?"
Yes .. there's a reason for this. Around the time of Woodrow Wilson
the idea of government welfare programs that were outside of the grant
of authority in our Constitution began to take hold. Politicians knew
that if they continued to tout the Constitution as the supreme law of
the land, they would have a rather difficult time getting their
government welfare programs enacted. So, the idea started to spread that
we were a democracy .. a country ruled by men and not the law. Whatever
the majority of the people (voters) wanted .. they got. After all, isn't
that what democracy (majority rule) means?
You might find it interesting to know what our founding fathers
thought of the idea of a democracy. There's an incredible book out there
titled "Founding Brothers: The Revolutionary Generation.
Here's your link if you might like to get a copy. The author,
historian Joseph Ellis, tells us at the very beginning of this book just
what our founding fathers thought of the idea of democracy. Here's what
they thought of democrats:
"... the term "democrat" originated as an epithet and referred to
'one who
panders to the crude and mindless whims of the masses.'"
I know ... it truly is amazing how that phrase pretty much describes
the Democrats of the day. For the most part the oratory of both Obama
and Hillary have been little more than examples of pandering "to the
crude and mindless whims of the masses."
So .. why have our government schools been so anxious to spread the
"democracy" lie? Because the more people believe that crap the stronger
government becomes. If the dumb masses can be convinced that, since we
are a democracy, the government should be able to do whatever the
political class convinces the majority of Americans it should do ...
then we have stronger politicians and weaker protections for our rights.
AND NOW FOR THE RIGHT TO VOTE:
OK .. enough about the democracy thing. Let's move to another area of
widespread ignorance among the American people. Again ... you came by it
honestly. Government schools. I speaking here of the almost universal
belief that you have a constitutional right to vote in a federal
election. Hint .. .you do not.
I talked about this right to vote thing on the show a few days ago,
and Web Guy (the poor SOB) tells me that we have been receiving a string
of rather unfriendly emails from people calling me a moron, an idiot and
other similar names for my statement on the right to vote. Some of these
emailers cite various Constitutional provisions in an attempt to prove
their brilliance and my abject ignorance.
Look .. I don't really mind the fact that many of you have been
indoctrinated into this "right to vote" bit by our government schools.
You were had. You were intentionally misinformed. You should not feel
ashamed that you were fooled this way. After all, every where you go you
hear about this right to vote BS ... so it's no wonder you've bought it.
The shame is in sticking to your erroneous beliefs when the facts are
presented to you.
Facts, you say? Yeah ... here are a couple of points for you to
consider:
Let's make our first stop at Wikipedia. We'll make two stops. First,
the entry for
"Voting rights in the United States." There you will find the
following sentence:
There is no "right to vote" explicitly stated in the U.S.
Constitution, but only that they cannot be denied based solely on the
aforementioned qualifications, however, the "right to vote" may be
denied for any other reason (i.e. being convicted of a felony).
Next stop .. .the Wikipedia entry for "Sufferage." A subsection of
this entry covers the history of suffrage (the vote) in the United
States. Here you go:
In the United States, suffrage is determined by the separate states,
not federally. There is no national "right to vote". The states and the
people have changed the U.S. Constitution five times to disallow states
from limiting suffrage, thereby expanding it.
-
15th Amendment (1870): no law may restrict any race from voting
-
19th Amendment (1920): no law may restrict any sex from voting
-
23rd Amendment (1961): residents of the
District of Columbia can vote for the President and Vice-President
-
24th Amendment (1964): neither Congress nor the states may condition
the right to vote in federal elections on payment of a poll tax or other
type of tax
-
26th Amendment (1971): no law may restrict those 18 years of age or
older from voting because of their age
Moving right along now, here's an article written by Congressman
Jesse Jackson Jr. entitled "The Right to Vote." Jackson writes: "And yet
the right to vote is not a fundamental right in our Constitution." I
guess that you folks who have been sending in those emails (and Cynthia
Tucker) are right, and the Congressman is wrong ... right? Jackson has
introduced a voting rights amendment in the congress. Now just why would
he need to do that if the right already existed?
I'm not through with you yet. Let's go to Michael C. Dorf. Dorf is
the Vice Dean and professor of law at Columbia University. Dorf wrote
this article entitled
"We Need A Constitutional Right to Vote in Presidential Elections."
Tell me, would a law professor write a column calling for a
constitutional right to vote if we already had one?
Final stop ... the complete text of the decision of the Supreme Court
of the United States in the case of
George W. Bush, et al., Petitioners v. Albert Gore, Jr., et al. Take
a look at Section II, Paragraph B. The very first sentence there reads:
"The individual citizen has no federal constitutional right to vote for
electors for the President of the United States unless and until the
state legislature chooses a statewide election as the means to implement
its power to appoint members of the Electoral College. U.S. Const.,
Art.II, §1."
Enough? I would certainly hope so. So you clowns out there keep
sending all of those emails telling me what an idiot I am for saying
that there is no constitutional right to vote in a federal election.
Read the sources I've presented to you above ... and send me another
email.
Some would say that intelligence can be measured by your ability to
recognize that you're wrong on an issue. Many times in my 38-year talk
radio career I've had to admit that I got something wrong. I hope I
never grow too old to learn. Some of you are already there.
By the way ... why is this issue so important to me? Well .... Look
what these unqualified voters are doing to the greatest experiment in
governance in the history of the world! Once we have accepted the truth
– that they don't have a constitution right to vote – then we can set
about the task of getting some of these dumb masses out of our voting
booths. Think about it ... we offer parasites the opportunity to
register to vote when they sign up for welfare! What the hell kind of
sense does that make?
Nuts to the idea of pandering to the poor, poor pitiful poor. We
didn't put them there. They did it to themselves .. .and I damned sure
don't want them making decisions that can affect the way I live my life
.. and how much of the money that I earn I can keep. If we must, we'll
take care of them and make sure they don't starve, get basic medical
care, and have a place to go when it rains or gets cold. Fine. That's
nothing we wouldn't do for stray animals .. .but they sure don't need to
be voting.
Understanding our rights is one thing ... know our non-rights is also
important.

THE LOCAL CLOWN SHOW
We've had a situation here around the metro Atlanta area that I have briefly
touched on during the program. The story may be local in nature .. but it is a
good example of just what kind of problems you may run into when you put the
government in charge of your child's education.
This is about the Clayton County schools. That's metro Atlanta. The
Clayton County Schools are at risk of becoming the nation's first district to
lose its accreditation in 40 years. The Southern Association of Colleges and
Schools has given the district until September 1st to save its accreditation.
Now the real problem here is that the people of Clayton County have elected a
group of people to the school board who are not competent to run a car wash.
Gross incompetence doesn't even begin to explain it. To save the accreditation
this school board hired a man that was previously cited as not qualified by the
Clayton County School's accrediting agency ... a man by the name of John W.
Thompson,
who is now the school district's temporary superintendent.
So what did it take to talk the unqualified John W. Thompson to become the
temporary superintendent -- I should ask what it is going to take the tax
payers ... the new superintendent will be able to spend almost one half of his 14
month contract NOT working. That's right. The contract offered by the Clayton
County schools allows this man the option of working 107 out his 240 workdays.
That means that 45% of his time will be spent on vacation or doing other
consultant work, while still getting paid by the taxpayers of Clayton County.
Now how much will he be getting paid? Thompson will receive a salary of
$285,000 a year, which works out to about $1,187.50 a day.
We're not through here. The $285,000 is just his salary, and does not
account for the $2,000 a month housing allowance and $28,500 in a tax-sheltered
annuity. Oh and a government car and security detail. In all, the taxpayers
will be forking over about $400,000 a year for their temporary superintendent,
whom they strongly suspect is simply not qualified to get the job done.
And as if that wasn't bad enough, on July 1st, Thompson will be getting a
raise. He will get the same percentage rate as the highest group of certified
government school employees.
Would ANYONE run a private business this way?
Oh, and for you fans of
the "Fail" meme, we found these slipped under our
virtual door this morning. Enjoy!

THE OBAMA-WRIGHT MIDDLEMAN
A preacher by the name of Michael Pfleger
appears to have stepped in to play referee between Obama and Jeremiah
Wright. This is an interesting turn of events considering Pleger himself has
been labeled as the "White Jeremiah Wright" and is a radical supporter of Louis
Farrakhan.
Lovely, just lovely.
Father Michael Plefer of the St. Sabina church has been speaking to Obama
and Wright over the last few days as these events have unfolded. He is said to
have "counseled" Barack Obama on Tuesday morning and received a call from
Reverend Wright Tuesday evening saying that he didn't have any intentions of
hurting Barack ... he loves Barack ... but "the pain and the moment took over."
You have to wonder what role this radical Priest (Me and Julio) is going to
play in the Obama administration!

FIVE ECONOMIC QUESTIONS FOR THE CANDIDATES
Tony Blankley is coming up with a series of articles with questions that he
would like to see asked of the presidential candidates.
He starts off with economics. Being the Talkmaster, I had to add my two
cents ... and maybe some questions of my own.
1. Will you actively seek to coordinate with the Fed chair?
2. How do you judge the inflation threat, and what will you do about it when
you become president in less than nine months?
3. Are you for a strong dollar, or will you continue Bush's policy of letting
the dollar sink?
4. Please tell us now -- before we vote -- what your priority will be in this
painfully difficult decision [of protecting the American dollar].
5. Are you committed to retaining and building the public consensus for a
liberalized and globally integrated economy?
THE NANNY STATE – CROSSING GUARDS
Great Britain seems to be having a problem with aggressive drivers that are
not stopping at crosswalks to let the little school children pass. Crossing
guards (in Great Britain they are apparently called Lollipop ladies) are
now being outfitted with video cameras to wear behind their ears, on their
caps, or placed on their stop signs that will record any incidents of rage.
Last year there were 1,400 incidents of "rage" directed towards crossing
guards and dozens of them were sent to the hospital after being hit by cars.
The government is saying that the crossing guards are often abused and often
sworn at. Drivers will honk, rev their car engines, drive too close or too fast
and sometimes ignore requests to stop altogether.
The Government Association's transport board says, "the lives of children are
at risk from increasing numbers of drivers who are so selfish that they are
willing to put lives at risk by refusing to stop for 30 seconds at a school
crossing."
With the help of the camera, drivers will now be fined $2,000 for any
incident and be given three points on their license.
Love those laid-back Brits.

READING ASSIGNMENTS
Obama, Jeremiah Wright, white guilt, racism ... nice hole our guy had dug for
himself here.
Guess who is coming to the defense of Jeremiah Wright ...
Hillary and Bill Clinton's pastor. The have a pastor? Who knew?
Reverend Wright took the time to go to Cuba back in the 1980s and praise
Fidel Castro and Che Guevara ... meanwhile, a black political prisoner -- the
longest-suffering black political prisoner in modern history --
was being held by the Cuban government. But I guess Wright and his buddies
didn't have time to bother with that.
More delegates are
pouring into the Obama camp, In spite of recent controversies Hillary just
can't make any headway.
A Bush administration official stepped down after an independent
investigation found she offered to help Republicans get elected.
This is something the lamestream media won't tell you because they are too
busy reporting about the "recession" but federal receipts from income and
employment taxes, before refunds,
are actually ahead of April 2007. Tax revenues are up you say? Why that
must mean we need to raise taxes on the rich!
Iran isn't too happy that
a second American aircraft carrier has made its way into the Persian Gulf.
Screw them.
Even Federal Air Marshals have been denied boarding by airlines because
their names are on the no-fly list.
The FDA now believes that Chinese-made ingredients for the blood-thinning
drug Herapin
may be been contaminated on purpose.
Muslims in Great Britain are
upset with billboards advertising swimwear that appear in "culturally
sensitive" neighborhoods. The Muslims are now taking white paint and painting
over the bare flesh of the scantily clad models in the ads. Muslims can be so
very tiring.
College Republicans of Berkeley are
trying to get the same permit privileges that Code Pink uses to protest
outside the Marine recruitment center.
The taxpayers of San Francisco
spent $10,000 to rescue a teen who was on acid and mushrooms. The dad's
response ... "he probably won't get to use the car for a while."
Thirteen varsity lacrosse teammates at a government high school in Michigan
have been suspended for asking a girl to the prom by posting the message on
their bare bottoms.
When a teenager drinks an entire bottle of Vodka at her government school ...
the logical solution is to bring in the drug sniffing dogs.
A fast food restaurant in Sanford, Florida is in trouble for
storing food on the floor inside the men's restroom.
This woman in Ft. Pierce, Florida is definitely not going to win the
mother of the year award.
More nonsense for Florida ... you'll be happy to hear that the urban
outdoorsmen of Orlando, Florida are
migrating from the city to the suburbs. I'm sure the soccer moms are
thrilled.
MADD wants the video game rating board to make the new Grand Theft Auto game
"Adults Only"
because parts of the game allow drivers to drive drunk.
In case you are looking for a real laugh ... a listener pointed us to this
website:
Government is Good.
PETA is offering a $2,000 to find out who is
impaling Seattle pigeons with metal darts. Rats with wings.
A town in Chile is offering
free Viagra to senior citizens because "an active sexuality improves the
overall quality of life."
Over 70 companies in the US are now offering
bring your baby to work policies where you can actually bring your child
into the office for the first year. Fine .. just so you don't bring them to the
cafeteria.
Here's something to be proud of ...
when your three year old wins the state mullet competition.
The site Neal mentioned today regarding global warming, sun spots, etc. was
spaceweather.com.
