 OH GOODIE! A MAJOR RACE SPEECH!
 Now ... let's see if I remember all this correctly. In reading excerpts from
Obama's first book, "Dreams
From My Father," I thought I read about all of the
personal anguish he went through trying to deal with his racial makeup. Then I
could swear that I though I read of the extreme discomfort he felt living in a
white world, and the scorn he felt for whites.
Well .. I guess that has all changed now. Today we are going to be blessed
with a major Barack Obama speech on race. Perhaps that's a good thing. Obama
certainly brings a unique background to the situation, so I'll be paying
attention.
Not that Obama is all that concerned about what I would like to hear in his
speech, but how about sharing with us his feelings on the differences between
prejudice, bigotry and racism. There is no doubt that there are racial problems
in this country. On the one hand we have white Americans who can't bring
themselves to acknowledge the abilities .. let alone the humanity .. in their
black neighbors. On the other side we have a black culture that identifies
anything said by a white person about an individual who is black – no matter how
valid the statement or criticism may be -- as racism.
If we are going to solve the racial problems in our society – and we must –
then one would think that the first thing we ought to do would be to identify
the problem. There are very different definitions for bigotry, prejudice and
racism – and to identify prejudice or bigotry as racism makes finding solutions
all that much harder.
We look forward to Obama's speech with much anticipation. Maybe he'll
explain why he was so quick to call for an apology from Geraldine Ferraro and
has yet to call for an apology from Jeremiah Wright? Of course the very fact
that I've brought that up here means that I'm ... a racist!
HIRE THE ILLEGALS – FIRE THE SUPERVISORS
Yup .. that's what's happening out west. It seems that with many wildfires
out west they're having to hire Hispanic firefighters in large numbers. Yeah ..
and we all know they're legal, right? Well, it seems that in Oregon there is
some regulation which requires supervisors to speak the language of their
crews. Since many of the crews are now made up of illegal aliens who cannot
speak English, the
supervisors are being fired or laid off. Just wonderful.
Hire illegals who can't speak English .. then fire the citizens who work as
supervisors because they can't speak the language of the illegal employees.
AND SPEAKING OF ILLEGALS
Several months ago a congressional report was released which showed that
illegal aliens are responsible for about 25 deaths every day in this country.
Twelve of those deaths come from homicides, and the other 13 result from
illegals driving drunk.
We had
a little accident in the Atlanta area Sunday night. Rodney Godfrey
and his son Eric are dead. Godfrey's wife was injured along with his
12-year-old daughter. So here we have a wife and daughter who must go on
without a husband, father and brother. They were killed when a minivan driving
on the wrong side of the road ran into them head on. The minivan was driven by
one Nicasio Rodrigo Vicente-Hernandez. He was killed also. The newspaper
doesn't seem to want to tell if this man was an illegal alien. Anyone want to
place some bets? My guess is that our lax immigration policies and the Mexican
invasion have claimed a few more American lives.
According to Geraldo just asking this question makes me a right-wing talk
radio thug. So ... add that to racist.
HILLARY SAYS WE CAN'T WIN
It is no real surprise to learn that while John McCain is visiting our troops
in Iraq, Hillary Clinton is back in America declaring that
Iraq is a war that "we cannot win." She says that McCain's course of action
would leave us in Iraq for another 100 years, compared to Hillary's plan to get
us out by 2009. On McCain and George Bush, Hillary says, "They both want to
keep us tied to another country's civil war, a war we cannot win ... That in a
nutshell is the Bush/McCain Iraq policy. Don't learn from your mistakes, repeat
them."
I don't know about you, but I really am not all that excited about having
this woman as commander and chief. Don't worry ... the single, unmarried women
will make that happen.
ECONOMIC 'WOES'
Most of the talk on the campaign trail
has been the economy, which is the number one issue right now according to
voters.
Keeping in the spirit, I'll give you two guesses as to who said the following
quote:
"Wages, incomes, they haven't gone up over the last seven years. Corporate
profits were great, Wall Street was doing fine, but ordinary folks were
struggling. And so if you're really ready for change, we can't just tinker
around the edges. We've got to bring around a fundamental change to our
economy."
That would be Barack Obama hitting on those evil corporate profits ... no
mention of profit margins. But in the end, what does this statement tell us.
That he has no clue about the economy, but he does stand for change we can
believe in!
Here's another one. Guess the candidate:
"We are going to stop giving tax breaks to companies that ship jobs overseas
and start giving tax breaks to companies that invest right here in Pennsylvania
and all across America. We're gonna roll back tax cuts to the wealthiest
Americans who don't need 'em, and we're even asking for them, and give those tax
breaks to hardworking ordinary Americans who deserve them right now."
That, my friends, would also be Barack Obama. The rich people don't need a
tax break ... they need a tax increase by letting the Bush tax cuts expire! And
those "ordinary Americans" deserve these tax breaks because, gosh darn it,
people deserve to be equal even if they don't earn it.
Now I know I'm swimming against the tide of government education here .. but
do you know one good way to turn out economy around and start the dollar heading
up again? Cut corporate taxes. But we can't do that, can we? After all, the
left has been spending so much time demonizing corporations and business that
the very idea of cutting their taxes is unthinkable!
THE MIND OF CINDY SHEEHAN
 Cindy Sheehan has written
a little article called Chickens of Our Own Making. She is defending
Obama's pastor Jeremiah Wright and denounces Obama for distancing himself from
the pastor. Let's take a look at some of my favorite passages of Cindy's little
diatribe, shall we?
We have supported state terrorism against the Palestinians and black South
Africans ... I think Senator Obama may buy into the neocon lie that somehow
Israeli or American lives are more precious than Arab lives or black lives. Not
only has the US supported state-sanctioned terrorism in such places as Palestine
and South Africa, but we are committing some more of our own in Iraq and
Afghanistan.
...and now we are indignant because the stuff we have done overseas is now
brought right back to our own front yards. America's chickens are coming home to
roost.
So here is Cindy the Moonbat buying into the leftist line that Israel is a
dirty word and that 9/11 was caused by the fighting between Israel and
Palestine.
Senator Obama also denounced any remarks that "disparaged our great country."
Hmm...does he denounce remarks that his own wife made about being proud to be an
American for the first time in her "adult life?" I wish I could be proud of a
nation that tortures people and imprisons them without basic legal rights. I
wish I could be proud of a nation that has a sitting president that has been
responsible for killing almost a million innocent Iraqi people in a misadventure
that was based on lies and is for profit. I wish I could be proud of a nation
that rapes its poor people to feed the already rich in a demented reverse Robin
Hood affect. I wish I could be proud of a country where over a million children
are homeless and hungry every night. I wish I could be proud of a nation that
left our black brothers and sisters hanging off of their roofs after Katrina.
The list can go on and on. Senator Obama needs to denounce me, because the
policies of our government do not make me proud and oftentimes endlessly disgust
me.
Are we living in the same country? Cindy's remarks are so full of hatred
toward America and liberal horsesqueeze that it's almost not worth trying to
respond to something like this ... because you can't fix stupid.
I sit here behind my computer screen in solidarity with Rev. Wright. Not only
do I not denounce him, but I support him in telling the truth. I wish Senator
Obama would recall how he once stood for truth. A desk in the oval office that
has been corrupted by years of calumny is not worth selling ones soul for.
So according to Cindy, Jeremiah Wright is the one telling the truth and Obama
is a hypocrite for denouncing who he really is ... a racist, anti-American,
anti-Semite with a chip on his shoulder (that would be according to Cindy).
Sadly .. there are many more like her out there.
MUSLIMS AND THE POLES
Muslims in the UK are upset about Polish immigrants ... or any immigrants from
Eastern Europe. Apparently they don't care about distinguishing between
particular countries because "hey, they're all the same." So you'll love
this.
Muslims don't like the Poles because they "work beyond the minimum wage,
drink, abuse their women and offend us by putting up stalls with pork sausage
everywhere." Muslims are complaining about the abuse of women? Now there's a
new one.
ARE YOU GETTING TIRED OF THESE GOVERNMENT SCHOOLS?
We started out the week with a government school story from California. Now
we are going to go to Florida, where we seem to get a lot of really interesting
government school stories.
A student at Meadowbrook Middle School in Orange County, Florida had to
answer the call of nature. He asked his language arts teacher Jameeka (run that
one by your spell checker) Chambers if he could go and she said no. He had two
options ... wait until the end of class or
use her lunchbox in the back of the classroom. The student opted for the
latter choice because "If you gotta go, you gotta go."
Now the mother of this boy is in shock ... then again, she did send her child
to a government school, so what did she really expect? This is one of those
cases of "government schools are bad, but mine is a good one." Is this sinking
in yet, folks?
As for the teacher, she will not be coming back to school for a while.
Instead, she will be relieved of her duty – with pay – while an investigation is
conducted.
READING ASSIGNMENTS
Obama decided that he is going to
deliver a speech about race in his campaign.
Here's some more audio from Obama's pastor Jeremiah Wright. Don't you see
the connection between 9/11 and the Israeli-Palestinian issue?
This is some great research
on Obama's Trinity United Church of Christ and the convenient changes that
have been made to its website.
In a recent Rasmussen poll, only 8% of people have a favorable view of
Jeremiah Wright. And 56% of people said his comments made them less likely to
vote for Obama. That would be why Obama finally kicked the pathetic pastor to
the curb over the weekend.
Georgia is ready to pass a law that allows law enforcement to seize any car
being driven by an illegal alien.
Bob Barr isn't pleased. Me? I pretty much like to see life made as hard as
possible for criminal aliens .. but this may be a bit much. Then again ... read
the comments.
Here is where I would put a link to a story about the new New York governor
and his wife having had affairs several years ago. But there's no link. That's
because I really don't care. His conduct in office is what matters. Then
again, he could always say that he didn't know that the other woman wasn't his
wife .. being legally blind and all.
Florida is
no longer going to seek a re-do election for the Florida Democrat primary.
So .. they have
a rap concert in Galveston, Texas ... and a fight (more like a riot) breaks
out. And they're surprised why?
Is Obama
starting to buy his own hype?
We have the schools in an Atlanta 'burb fixin' as they say down here, to lose
their accreditation. So ..
what are people worried about? The jocks.
When it comes to the handgun ban in DC,
this LATimes article seems to suggest that the right to bears arms is not
truly protected by the Constitution, like the right to free speech and freedom
to freely practice one's religion.
This headline doesn't help matters.
"Arctic Ocean Getting Warm; Seals Vanish and IcebergsMelt" ... oh wait,
that's a headline from 1922. And while we're tweaking the global warming crowd
.. it seems that they had an all time record in Montreal for snow ... and that was
this year.
Some good news from Iraq that you don't read every day. Dick Cheney says
that "phenomenal changes" have been made in the country in just 10 months.
The Supreme Court has decided to review
broadcast profanity. Damn.
It's official.
Geert Wilders will be premiering his blasphemous movie about the Koran on
March 23rd.
A German woman went into the hospital for a leg operation and
came out with a colostomy. Gotta love that socialized medicine.
The Pennsylvania DOT has a yearly budget of nearly $250 million. So when
pieces of concrete start falling off a bridge, the logical solution is to
install nets so the concrete doesn't fall on anyone.
A man in New York is upset with Verizon for updating its phone system because
he lost a voicemail that he had been saving from his dead wife.
A burger joint in the Boston area has added a
"Spitzer Burger" to the menu, described as "hot, sexy and you save
$4,291.01."
Okay, now here's
some recycling we can definitely get behind. What a cool way to use retired
