OUR NATIONAL ANTHEM
So ... some of you are a bit upset because I don't like
our National Anthem, right? Oh yeah! Here come those childish "I'm
never going to listen to you again" emails. Gawd .. could you folks just
please try to grow up once in a while? Anyway .. If I'm going to have to
hear that song time after time after time after time every time two men pick up
a ball or some sticks and decide to have a contest .. then
I want the Cactus Cuties to
sing it. These gals are fantastic!
By the way .. this thing wasn't our National Anthem until
1931. What's the big deal ? It sucks. Let's go with "God Bless
America." At least we can sing that one.
DURN ... RUNNING OUT OF TIME
There are other goodies I wanted to include in the notes today ... but time ran
out. At the top of the list is the problem that Obama has with some of his
buddies. If you're known by the company you keep, Obama isn't the type of guy
you really want to know. We'll cover this on the air. What, after all, would
happen to a Republican candidate who's beloved pastor told the congregation not
to sing "God Bless America," but to sing "God Damn America" instead. Really,
see the video for yourself!
Just tune in ... I'll do everything I can to piss you off at some point during
the day.

LIFE UNDER HILLARY OR OBAMA
As you know, both Hillary and Obama have proposals out there that would
eliminate union elections in the workplace. These proposals would
institutionalize union intimidation and coercion in efforts to unionize
workplaces. Now .. why do I have a problem with unions? Just read this email:
|
Message:
Boortz, I witnessed this event at my place of employment and was
astonished at what happened. This is what Hillary and her gang want to
do to us. I work in a large corporation that has both Union and non
union employees. One of my coworkers was moving their desk, to one desk
over (in a cubicle land). They were instructed to call facilities
(which is Unionized). He thought, forget about it, it will take them a
week to move me, I'll just move myself. So he completed the task at
hand, was able to complete it in 1 hour. Well, some of the union
employees found out and complained. The union filed a grievance against
him and he has now lost his job. This was all done because he was
taking a job away from a Union worker by moving his equipment and
personal desk items himself. We were then told as a department that if
we needed to move, even 1 desk over we're to box up all of our stuff and
submitt a ticket to facilities to have them move us. I wouldn't have
believed this would've happened except that I saw it myself. Yeah
America, vote for Hillary and see what you get...

OBAMA IS UPSET WITH MCCAIN
Barack Obama is upset with John McCain over taxes. Obama says that McCain
reversed his position on the Bush tax cuts simply to win the Republican
nomination. He says that McCain was "right then, and he's wrong now."
McCain says that he supports an extension of the Bush tax cuts because the
economy is struggling, and he recognizes that tax reductions offer an economy
stimulus. Meanwhile, Obama is proposing subsidies for higher education, health
care and other costs that are affecting the poor middle class. These subsidies
must be part of this "change we can believe in." His plan on how he actually
wants to implement these subsidies? Taxes. Close tax loopholes, new tax on
carbon emissions, ending the war in Iraq and ending the Bush tax cuts for
America's evil "highest earners." These Obama tax increases would amount to
hundreds of billions of dollars.
Even if McCain did "flip flop" on the Bush tax cuts, I would much rather have
someone that understands the reasoning behind the benefits of tax cuts ... rather
than a tax-and-spender who wants to redistribute the wealth from the high income
earners and those evil rich that create more carbon emissions, to those that are
"less fortunate."
Meanwhile, Barack Obama suddenly decided to
release all of his earmark requests ... and he is challenging Hillary to do
the same. This change in rhetoric wouldn't be because he wants votes, would
it? Yeah .. it's OK for Obama to do the flip-glop dance, but not McCain.
YOU'VE GOT TO BE KIDDING ME
The lamestream media can't label Eliot Spitzer a Democrat to save their lives
... but they sure as hell can find the "R" on the keyboard. Actual headline:
"Eliot Spitzer (R) holds a news conference in New York City with his wife Silda
by his side."
MOCKING OBAMA
Yesterday in the Senate, an amendment was proposed by Republican Senator
Wayne Allard of Colorado that was
meant to mock Barack Obama's proposals for his "change we can believe in"
campaign. Allard's amendment was a whopping $1.4 trillion, in order to
encompass all of Obama's promises. Those proposals included $65 billion a year
for universal healthcare, $6.6 billion a year to expand the Army, and $10
billion a year to eliminate income taxes on lower income seniors. Allard has
nothing to lose by proposing the ridiculous amendment ... he is retiring.
FISH AND WILDLIFE CONSERVATION COMMISSION
We've been getting a lot of outrageous stories lately that seem to have one
common theme: the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission.
Here's another example. Two local fishermen have to pay $16,000 in
penalties for violation of federal rules on red snapper. Back in January,
Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission boarded Rudolph Dendekker and
Herbert Regan Jr.'s boat. On the boat they found a whopping 35 whole snappers
and 128 fillets. They were confiscated. These conservation commission officers
then called a special agent with the National Oceanic and Atmospheric
Administration (NOAA) in order to prosecute the men with fishing violations.
After DNA tests, the NOAA determined that at least 25 of the fish were red
snappers. The government limit on red snapper is two per person and the fish
must be at least 20 inches long.
Now the men have to go to court or pay the $16,000 fine for having 21 more
red snappers in the boat than the government allows. The men are also being
penalized with making false statements and interfering with, obstructing or
delaying an investigation or search.
MUSLIM OUTRAGE: HAM SANDWICHES
Muslim inmates at a prison in Great Britain were offended when shown a menu
of the food they would receive during the holiest month of Ramadan.
They were shocked to see that the "halal" menu included ham sandwiches.
Some Muslims are threatening civil action claiming that they were victims of
racial harassment and mistreatment. They claim that this was clear evidence to
"underlying insensitivity" of the Prison Service.
The mayor of the town has issued an apology. The Justice Secretary has
ordered that prison bosses be more diligent in catering to Muslim's needs. He
also promised that the prison staff would be re-trained on prisoners' cultural
and religious needs. Even more absurd, additional local management checks and
staff training will be introduced to the prison before Ramadan begins.
The Prison Service already offers 11 different religious and cultural diets
to meet prisoner demands. National Muslim leaders and organizations such as the
Halal Food Authority are already consulted when putting together menus. Imams
are also invited to make sure that food preparation and storage facilities
comply with Islamic religious code.
FREELOADING MOOCHERS IN RIOT MODE
When you go to buy a home or to rent an apartment ... ask if there is any
Section 8 housing in the neighborhood. Section 8 is welfare housing. This is
where the government seizes your money and gives it to some other person –
usually an overweight single mother with a cell phone and no idea who her
babydaddy is – to subsidize the home right next to you. Trust me .. you don't
want to be living near most of these people.
When I first starting practicing law my office was on the same floor of a
building in Atlanta that housed the local housing authority. Several times a
year they would hand out applications for welfare housing vouchers. On those
mornings I would literally have to wade through urine and Lord knows what to get
to my office. Why? Because the hallway would be full of women with their
fatherless babies squatting all over the place waiting for their government
handout. Used diapers – urine – baby food – garbage – Honey Bun wrappers – you
name it, there it was scattered around the hallway.
They were handing out welfare housing vouchers in Palm Beach earlier this
week. Take a look at this
story from the Palm Beach Post .. and be sure to click on the link for the
"special video report". Watch the video. Look for a woman of normal weight.
Look for a father. Have fun.
BERKELEY MOONBATS
I'm posting this commentary as yet another example of these anti-military
moonbats out in Berkeley, California. This one comes from Kenneth Thiesen. I
do this so that you can take a trip into the dark mind of a peace-at-any-price
liberal.

Why I Don't Support the Troops
In the recent political battle around the Marine recruiting station
in Berkeley there has been much confusion around the concept or slogan
of "supporting the troops," but opposing the unjust wars of the Bush
regime. Many who oppose the Bush regime wars also say they "support the
troops." Let me say it straight out—I do not support the troops and
neither should you. It is objectively impossible to support the troops
of the imperialist military forces of the U.S. and at the same time
oppose the wars in which they fight.
The United States has over 700 military bases or sites located in over
130 foreign countries. The hundreds of thousands of troops stationed in
these countries are not there to preserve or foster freedom and
democracy as the Bush regime would like to claim, but to maintain U.S.
imperialist domination of the world. The United States now spends more
on its military than all the other nations of the world combined.
If you "support the troops" in Iraq, Afghanistan, and the other more
than 100 countries in which they are located, you also objectively
support U.S. hegemony in the world. I believe that the vast majority of
people who say they support the troops do not wish to support U.S.
imperialism, but that is what they are really doing by putting forth the
slogan of "support the troops."
We need to oppose the recruitment of men and women into the military. We
need to support resisters within the military who have realized what
they are doing and now choose to resist the role of the U.S. military.
This includes people such as Lt. Ehren Watada who refused to deploy to
Iraq. Watada stated, "Never did I imagine my president would lie to go
to war, condone torture, spy on Americans..." He was the first officer to
refuse to go to Iraq and he was court-martialed. Another resister is
Camilo Mejia. In 2004 Sergeant Mejia was sentenced to one year in prison
when he was court-martialed for refusing to assist the military in Iraq.
Mejia said, "I am only a regular person that got tired of being afraid
to follow his own conscience. For far too long I allowed others to
direct my actions even when I knew that they were wrong...."
We need to expose that those in the U.S. military are trained to be part
of a "killing machine." While not every member of the military is an
individual murderer, they are all part of a system that commits war
crimes, including aggressive wars, massacres, rape, and other crimes
against humanity, all in the service of U.S. imperialism. The bottom
line is that even if these people are relatives or friends, you can not
support the troops without also supporting the objective role that these
troops play in the imperialist system.
United States troops are acting as destructive and murderous forces of
invasion and occupation. The people of Iraq and Afghanistan see this on
a daily basis. Hundreds of thousands have died as a direct result of the
U.S. invasions of Iraq and Afghanistan. Millions are either internal or
external refugees. Tens of thousands have been detained in prisons, with
thousands of these tortured and scores murdered. Haditha, Iraq where 24
Iraqis were massacred is just the best known of the massacres. Women and
children are routinely described as "collateral damage" by military
spokespersons when they are murdered in military operations.
"Support for the troops" has become political cover to support the wars.
In Congress, many of those who claim they oppose the wars, use "support
of the troops" to vote for hundreds of millions of dollars to fund the
wars. These politicians are political opportunists, but there are also
people who genuinely oppose the war, but who also say "I support the
troops."
But to decide whether U.S. troops deserve support you must analyze what
they actually do in countries occupied by the U.S. The wars these troops
are engaged in have the goal of maintaining and extending U.S. hegemony
throughout the world. They are unjust, illegal, and immoral wars. Can
you support the troops in these wars? Why is this any different from a
German in World War II saying, "I oppose the wars launched by Hitler,
but I support the troops of the German army which are making these wars
possible." When the Marines in Haditha massacred Iraqis, including women
and children, would it have been correct to say I supported the Marines
who killed those people, but not the massacre? This would be ridiculous,
but no more so than supporting the troops engaged in the war that made
the Haditha massacre possible in the first place.
In 1933 Marine Major General Smedley Butler clarified the role of the
U.S. military. He stated, "War is just a racket...It is conducted for the
benefit of the very few at the expense of the masses...I spent 33 years
and four months in active military service as a member of this country's
most agile military force, the Marine Corps...In short, I was a racketeer,
a gangster for capitalism..."
Like Butler, Watada, and Mejia, those in the military today must take
responsibility for what the military does. Just like the German soldiers
of World War 2 could not hide behind the "I was just following orders"
excuse, military personnel today also can not hide behind it. Those of
us who oppose the unjust wars of the Bush regime must struggle with
those in the military and those that support them to expose what role
the troops objectively play. Supporting the troops engaged in making war
against other nations and people on behalf of U.S. imperialism is not
acceptable.
