2008 – ONE GIANT STEP TO GOVERNMENT DOMINATION
Right now it’s a bit hard to be optimistic about this presidential election. Hillary
Clinton seems poised to take the nomination of the MoveOn Democrat Party, and
the Republicans just aren’t generating all that much interest out there.
I could go on a tear here and discuss all of the candidates. There’s
Hillary with her dishonesty and her absolute disdain for the average American. There’s
Obama with his lack of experience and foreign policy naiveté. On
the Republican side we have candidates who recognize the danger we face from
Islamic radicalism, candidates who are for the FairTax and candidates who want
to lower taxes. What we don’t have is a candidate who is giving
us a laundry list of government programs and bureaucracies that have to go. The
Republicans are also burdened by candidates who feel that it is the government’s
role to control the reproductive lives of women.
I came up with a brilliant (even if I do say so myself) idea in my book “Somebody’s
Gotta Say It.” The idea was for a 10th Amendment Commission. It’s
simple. The president would appoint a commission made up of federal
and state elected officials along with some successful businessmen. The
commission’s charge would be to spend a year or two studying ways government
power could be transferred from the federal back to the state and local levels. This
was the vision of our founding fathers. Why can’t we have a candidate
rekindle this vision now?
While so many of the candidates are worrisome, my biggest concern centers
n the voters. More than ever before, the voters seem to be signaling
that they want more government; much more government. They want the government
to provide then with health care. They want the government to provide
them with a comfortable retirement. They want the government to provide
them with jobs. If they don’t qualify for the jobs, they want the
government to train them. They want the government to educate their kids
and get them out of their mortgage binds. They want the government to take
ever more money from the pockets of people who have worked harder and smarter,
and who lived their lives more responsibly, and then spend that money on them.
BUZZWORD … CHANGE
Yup .. that’s the big Democrat word for this campaign. Change. Hillary
is the best candidate to bring change. No, wait! Obama is the best
candidate! We are to believe, I guess, that change for the sake of change
is a terribly good thing and that we should get out there and support the candidate
most capable of bringing that about.
Notice, please, one thing. When a Democrat talks about change they are
almost always talking about change from self-sufficiency to government dependence;
from free market solutions to government programs. If that’s the
type of change the MoveOn Democrats are seeking, and if that’s the type
of change the people want, then it’s time for those who still take some
pride in self-reliance and who still have a fondness for freedom to really
start working on their escape plan in earnest.
In 2008 we have an electorate that seems poised to go to the polls to select
the one candidate that is going to do the most for them. A candidate
that promises to get the government out of the way of those who want to use
their own abilities to excel and achieve doesn’t seem to have a chance.
This may be the “me” election. What can the government do
for ME.
For those of you in this category, John Edwards certainly would have been
your best choice, but he’s gasping for air right now. It looks
like you’re left with The Hildabeast. Her “government should
do it all” credentials are well-established. Her belief that America
is great because of government is no secret. Obama? An unknown
quantity. As they say; use wisely your power of choice.
TAKE THIS, TAKE THAT … AND THEN TAKE THE OTHER THING
A couple of interesting stories popped off the Internet and into my lap over
the weekend.
First we have British Prime Minister Gordon Brown suggesting that the law
in Great Britain should permit doctors and hospitals to presume that a patient
who has taken the eternal celestial dirt nap wanted to donate his organs. The
tango uniform patients organs would be seized by the National Health Service
unless that person had previously taken his name off a national register or
his family members object .. if his family members even have the chance to
object.
There’s a premise or a presumption working here, and that is that the
National Health Service owns those organs. The patient has merely been
using them for a while, and now the government is going to step in to exercise
its ownership rights.
The second story was about Hugo the Horrible, the Venezuelan goon president
Hugo Chavez. Venezuela, you see, is suffering shortages of some basic
consumer goods. No surprise there. Hugo is such an admirer of Fidel
Castro, he might as well create a lifestyle for his subjects much like the
one created for Cubans by Castro. Monkey see, monkey do. Now it
comes to pass that Hugo is upset because he thinks that some private businesses
are hoarding consumer goods so that they can be sold later at inflated prices.
Hugo is threatening to seize the property of these private businesses who have
displeased him. Again, the premise is that this property belongs to the
government (to Hugo) and can simply be seized if the businessman doesn’t
do what Hugo orders him to do.
Reading these two stories reminded me of what our probable next president,
Hillary Rodham, said when she found out that Exxon Mobile had posted some record
profits. Remember … these were record profits, not an inflated
profit margin. Anyway … we won’t try to correct the deficiencies
of the government education system here, we’ll just remind you that soon
after those profits were announced, and while the Exxon Mobile stockholders
were celebration capitalism, Hillary took to the podium to screech “I
want to TAKE those profits and spend them on … blah, blah blah.”
So … let’s recap:
- England threatens to seize organs
- Hugo Chavez threatens to seize properties.
- Hillary wants to “take those profits”
Ever notice how left wing politicians are so fond of taking things that don’t
belong to them from the people who own them?
I noticed in the article I read about the
British Prime Minister promoting this idea that there was a reference
to “black and ethnic minorities.” It never occurred
to me before, but why are black British citizens referred to as “African
Brits” or something like that? I’m thinking that Jesse
Jackson better hustle himself across the pond and straighten this situation
out. |
OH THOSE WACKY RON PAUL SUPPORTERS
We know the Ron Paul crowd can get rough and crude. I guess my first
encounter was the pot-bellied pig who interrupted Newt Gingrich and me during
an event to scream at Newt for “selling his soul.” I’ve
had more than a few encounters with them on the air, of course. Last
week in New Hampshire they were taunting Sean Hannity in the streets of Manchester
.. and calling one of his producers the “C” word. And we
don’t mean “charismatic.”
How absurd can these flakes get? Well .. try this one. I’m
told that one Linda
Poole from Macon, Georgia called my Macon, Georgia affiliate, WMAC radio.
To explain why I was critical of Ron Paul on my show. Imagine my surprise
when I found out that, according to Ms. Poole, Mitt Romney owns a part of my
radio show!
All this time … and I never knew that Mitt Romney owned part of my
radio show. Why in the hell am I kept in the dark on things like this?
How much of the profits is he taking? Why are his talking points not
getting to me? Dammit, I want answers … NOW.
CYNTHIA TUCKER GETS IT WRONG ….. AGAIN
As you may know, if you read the Nuze often, Cynthia Tucker is the editorial
page editor of the Atlanta Journal Constitution. Ms. Tucker, of course,
a liberal. You would expect nothing less from one of the nation’s largest
liberal newspapers.
Cynthia is on a tear right now. She doesn’t like the idea of voters
having to show a picture ID before they vote. She’s asking for
huge marches by blacks and Latinos if the Supreme Court upholds Indiana’s “harsh” voter
ID law. You can read all about how Cynthia Tucker thinks the world as
we know it is going to end if voters have to identify themselves right here. Just
click and enjoy the absurdity.
I do want to point out one specific absurdity in Ms.Tucker’s column. Here’s
a specific quote wherein Ms. Tucker is talking about one Mary-Jo Criswell who
had her ballot thrown out because she didn’t have proper ID:
“Citizens like Criswell are Americans, too, and they have
every right to vote, just like it says in the Bill of Rights.”
OK .. I know our country abounds with ignorance. You can expect nothing
less when education is a government function. You would expect, however,
that someone who has managed to reach the position of editorial page editor
of a large newspaper would know better. Listen, Cynthia … see
if you can absorb this. There is no Constitutional right to vote in a federal
election. There is no Constitutional right to vote for President of the
United States. It isn’t there. . Not even, as you say,
in the Bill of Rights.
Do your research.
Here. I’ll help you. Read this column by Michael C. Dorf. At
the time he wrote this column he was Vice Dean and Professor of Law at Columbia
Universty. The title of the column is: “We
Need a Constitutional Right to Vote in Presidential Elections.” Does
it occur to you, Ms. Tucker, that Professor Dorf would not have written this
column if such a right existed?
Would you like for me to help you with more of your research, Ms. Tucker? Fine; Only
too happy to oblige. Read Bush
v. Palm Beach County Canvassing Board. Yup .. that little dandy is
from the 2000 presidential election, and there, too, you will find straight
from the Supreme’s mouths that there is no right to vote in a presidential
election.
Hold on, Ms. Tucker. Don’t throw the Nuze down in disgust just
yet. Perhaps you would like to check out HJR 28. This little jewel
was introduced by none other than U.S. Representative Jesse Jackson,Jr. in
2005. The title is “A Proposed Amendment to Establish a Constitutional
Right to Vote in America.” Again, the question: If the right
is there, why do we need a Constitutional Amendment?
Not through yet. Here’s another one for you. Alexander v.
Mineta, decided by the Supreme Court in 2000. In that decision the Supreme
Court affirmed the decision of the district court that the U.S. Constitution “does
not protect the right of all citizens to vote, but rather the right of all
qualified citizens to vote.” Guess what? It’s up to
the states to decide who is qualified.
You hold a reasonably serious position, Ms. Tucker, as the editorial page
editor of a major American newspaper. Don’t you think you owe your
readers a bit more attention to detail? The Bill of Rights does not,
as you assert, say that citizens like Criswell “have every right to vote.” If
you can’t get something this simple right, what does that say for the
rest of the drivel you write? I think the word we’re looking for
here is “credibility.” If you want people to believe that
you have put a modicum of research and thought into your opinions, perhaps
you ought to straighten out the record on this “right to vote” thing. Yeah … I’ll
hold my breath waiting for that one.
By the way … I think Rep. Jesse Jackson has the wrong idea. We
don’t need a new Constitutional Amendment. We need to celebrate
the Constitution as it is. We need to rejoice in our discovery that not
everyone is entitled to vote in a presidential election. There are too
many members of the dumb masses voting anyway. Let’s figure out
a way to slim down the voter rolls, rather than expand them with more fools
and idiots who merely vote to get their hands in someone else’s pocket.
LET’S TELL THE WHOLE TRUTH ABOUT THE MORTGAGE CRISIS
While walking through a Hispanic neighborhood in Las Vegas last week Clinton
said that unscrupulous lending leads to bad mortgages which, in thru, lead
to foreclosures which lead to people with nowhere to go.
Do you notice how the left is trying to paint this mortgage crisis on the
lenders? It’s all about crooked or unscrupulous or greedy mortgage
lenders and brokers.
It happens that when many of these substandard loans were being made by these “unscrupulous” lenders
I wasn’t that far away from making my living practicing law and was doing
quite a few real estate closings. I can remember a series of articles
in the Atlanta Journal-Constitution about redlining and all of the horrible,
racist things evil mortgage lenders do to avoid making loans to blacks and
low income people. The pressure was clearly on. Either the mortgage
lenders start to do something creative to bring more low income types and minorities
into the realm of home ownership, or the government was going to step in and
make them do it. What did we get? Substandard mortgages. The left
was out there whining that the mortgage companies weren’t doing enough … so
here come the loans who otherwise couldn’t have qualified … and
now we haver the mortgage crunch and record foreclosures.
When the marketplace gets screwed up, always look for the hand of government
somewhere.
That stupid jumping robot or whatever the
hell he is on Fox football coverage is really starting to get on my last
good nerve. Whose idiotic idea was that anyway? He’s
almost as obnoxious as all those tats on the players. |
GOVERNMENT SPENDING … ALWAYS THE ANSWER …
Well … at least if you are a Democrat. The media is filled with gloom
and doom about the state of the economy. So some have devised their brilliant
plans on how to get us out of “the slump.” Among those with
a plan would be New
York Senator Chuckie Schumer. And just what would Chuckie’s
plan be? Come on! Get with the plan here. Schumer is a Democrat,
right? OK … so what do Democrats do when they want to get the
economy moving? Do they cut taxes? Do they allow people to keep
more of the money they earn so that they can either invest or spend that money? Not
only now, but HELL no. Again, these are Democrats we’re delaing
with here. The government needs to spend that money, not the private
sector! Don’t you realize that politicians always hav3e a better
idea where and how to spend money than the private sector!
The MoveOn Democrats, of course, have a clear idea on just how the government
should spend the confiscated money. Try this: Expanded unemployment
benefits. Oh yeah, that ought to work. The economy needs a boost
so lets spend money to pay people not to work. To put it more accurately,
let’s take some more money from people who are working and give it to
people who are not. Only in the mind of a Democrat could that be a good
idea.
Here’s an idea Senator Schumer. Get the money back into the hands
of the people. Let the people decide how and when to spend their money. It’s
called capitalism, and nothing ever devised by government has done a better
job of lifting all economic boats.
FAIRTAX: THE TRUTH; THREE WEEKS FROM TOMORROW!
Subject: Voting
for the Fairtax: Amazon.com
Name: Joseph Summers
Email: josephkyles@xxxxxx.com
Message:
Hi Neal, I just placed my order for the new book on Amazon.com. I see
it as my vote of approval for The Fair Tax. The more people that buy
the book, the more attention it will get. On another note, I'm a Florida
voter and although I am not a Republican or Democrat, therefore I can't
vote in the primary, I will be voting based solidly on the candidate's
support of The Fair Tax. If Giuliani was pro Fair Tax he would have my
vote in a heart beat! Too bad I'll have to settle for Huckabee. |
Just three weeks from tomorrow “FairTax, The Truth: Answering the Critics” hits
the bookstores. You
can order the book ahead of time by clicking here. Your book should
arrive on February 12th! I’ve noticed that in recent days the FairTax
has been increasing coverage in both news stories and opinion pieces. We’ve
also seen a doubling of FairTax emails to the show. Once this book hits
the stores critics are going to have a rougher time launching their ill-conceived
attacks on this tax reform plan. The documented truth will be out there.
Joseph had it right in his email. Each purchase of the book is a vote
for the FairTax. If we’re lucky enough to debut high on the bestseller’s
lists it will be a signal to the detractors and to those who feel that they
can afford to ignore this idea. This morning we’re No. 81 on Amazon.com.
Last week we got up to around No. 11. The week before we hit No. 3. The
more books we sell on Amazon.com before the release, the better our chances
for a high finish are. Again .. here’s
your link.
And here’s a surprise! Jack Markowitz, a business columnist for
the Pittsurgh Tribune-Review, writes that “Huckabee’s
no-tax plan seems fair.” That, Mr. Markowitz, is why its called
the “FairTax”.
The FairTax also gets some
attention at Vanderbilt University.
ECONOMIC STIMULUS
Not to be outdone … now we have Obama and Hillary came out with their
economic stimulus plans. Obama topped Hillary’s $70 billion plan
with his $75 billion plan. Here
are the basics:
- an immediate $250 tax credit for workers,
- a one-time $250 supplement to Social Security payments,
- a $10 billion fund to help homeowners avoid foreclosure
- a $10 billion fund for states facing budget shortfalls because of lower
tax revenues.
I think if you’ll look into the ObamaHillary plan you’ll see that
the tax credit or “workers” will not be available to the evil bastards
who make over $80.000 year or so. That tax “credit” will
only go to people likely to vote Democrat. Also … it will be “refundable.” That
means if you don’t pay any taxes in the first place, they’ll just
give you the $250 from someone else’s pocket.
Income redistribution … the MoveOn Democrat way. Be sure to vote
for Hillary now!
DAMNED PROUD OF THIS NOMINATION --- HELP ME WIN!
There’s a left-wing website out there that is trying to mimic the popularity
of the Media Research Center’s annual Notable Quotable Awards. This
moonbat website has its own “Outrageous Quote of the Year” contest
going. It looks like I’m in the running for the award with this quote:
“Look, Al Qaeda, they could bring a nuke into this country and kill
a hundred thousand people with a well-placed nuke somewhere, OK? We would
recover from that. It would be a terrible tragedy but the teachers unions
in this country can destroy a generation...Well, they are destroying a generation.
They’re MUCH more dangerous. You know, we worry about Al Qaeda, and
we should, but at the same time, let’s not let the teachers’ unions
escape.” - Neal Boortz, Hannity & Colmes, 2/20/07
Let’s hear it for the Talkmaster!
I’m very proud of that quote, and I absolutely stand my assertion that
teacher’s unions present a greater long-term threat to the survival of
this country than does Al Qaeda. The problem is, I’m not doing
all that well in the voting. OK … so this isn’t what you
would call a first-tier website. Only 83 votes have been cast thus far
in the 1st Quarter semifinals. I’m lagging behind Tony Snow (43%)
and Bill O’Reilly (31%) with only 24% of the vote. So, here’s
the link. Vote for me! I want to take the first quarter semifinals
and go on to victory!
HALAL LUNCHES
New York State Senator John Sabini (a Democrat) wants to make it mandatory
for all New
York government schools to serve halal food. For those of you that
might not be up to speed, halal food is any food that is permissible according
to Islamic law. In other words, this guy wants to use taxpayer money
to fund accommodations for the religion of Islam.
“The Halal Food Bill” is said to come before the Senate soon.
Last year, Sabini passed a bill that keeps the Muslim holy day of Eid as a
non-examination for all government schools. To give you a better idea
of the constituents in his district … his District Leader of the Democrat
Party is named Mohammad Amunullah.
