HILLARY SLIPPING
Hillary Clinton admitted that she flopped in last week's debate on MSNBC. She told "The Situation Room's" Candy Crowley, "I wasn't at my best the other night."
Now the latest Rasmussen polls show that Hillary's lead over Obama has slipped to its lowest level. Clinton now leads with 34%, that's only 10 points above Obama at 24%. Meanwhile, Obama took a shot at the Clinton campaign saying that "they've been fighting some of the same fights since the '60's and it makes it very difficult for them to bring the country together to get things done." The recent publicity for Hillary's "hippie museum" in New York probably doesn't help either. Although the earmark for the museum has been removed ... is there still a way that Hillary could get her Woodstock museum? Oh hell yes, she will ... and she'll do it without ever having to take the responsibility. So .. now that Hillary is screwing up ... watch it become even more difficult to get a straight answer out of her on anything! ROMNEY ON HOMESCHOOLING
Mitt Romney says that parents who home school their children should get a tax credit. This will help to offset the expense of teaching. At first glance, it seems alright because maybe more parents would be willing to yank their children from their abusive government schools. But then you snap back to reality and realize ... any government involvement is doomed for disaster. Home schooling merely becomes a tool or a puppet for government officials. And of course, politicians use none other than taxes as incentives. Imagine a world where this kind of power didn't exist ... where the government wouldn't have to lure you and bribe you into making the right decision for your children - taking them out of the hands of government indoctrination. Romney says he also supports charter schools and vouchers, but on a state-by-state basis. Eh, it's a start. Competition for a better education can do nothing but make our children smarter, or at least give parents the chance to give their children a better education. Instead of a tax credit .. for which there will undoubtedly be certain "requirements and qualifications" ... how about a straight voucher? Either use it to send your child to a private school, or keep it if you're teaching your child at home. HAMAS' HOLLYWOOD
Hamas has decided that terrorism is not fantastic enough for its people, now it wants to venture into movie making. Hamas rulers plan to build a $200 million media city and movie production house. They want it to be similar to something like a Universal Studios, combining movies with a tourist attraction theme park. Just can't wait for the suicide bomber ride ... and you can't help but wonder if the 72 Virgins exhibit will be interactive. You'll be sad to hear that they have only raised a tiny fraction of the money so far ($1 million). But I wouldn't be too worried. I'm sure there will be a line of Hollywood starlets that will gladly contribute funds in exchange for ... a leading role? A glamorous suicide vest? A fancy on-set trailer surrounded by concertina wire? The tourist attraction will feature mock towns and villages that simulate those the Palestinians left when Israel was created. And the first movie will be based on a novel by one of Gaza's hard-line leaders. Another movie will be about Izzedine al-Qassam, who led a Palestinian revolt in the 1930s against the British and Jews. Hamas' military wing was lovingly named for this "charismatic leader." Al Qaeda Awards ... here we come! A QUESTION ...
Those striking Hollywood writers ... are their picket signs blank? MEXICAN TRUCKS
We open up our borders to Mexican trucks and already the U.S. taxpayers are paying a price. The Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration announced that U.S. taxpayers will be footing the bill to start a program to install satellite tracking technology on vehicles in the Mexican Truck Demonstration Program.
The initial cost of the program is almost $400,000, just to outfit all the American and Mexican trucks. That is just the initial cost. There are members from both sides in Congress that are upset, but apparently it was Congress that wanted to know whether participants in the program are complying with federal safety and trade laws. So how do we do that? Spend taxpayer money! How much are the Mexicans chipping in for this? RACIAL PROFILING
In Arizona, the Department of Public Safety is up in arms because a new study of traffic stops indicates that Arizona officers are engaged in racial-profiling. A report by the University of Cincinnati says that Highway Patrol officers were more than twice as likely to search cars driven by Hispanics and Blacks than those driven by white people. Minorities were also more likely to be arrested and to receive multiple traffic citations. Professor Robin S. Engel was in charge of the study, and she says that this is nothing extraordinary compared to police organizations around the country. Then, she got to the meat of this ridiculous study ... and why it is a waste of time ... she said that it's impossible to conclude that discrimination is to blame. "Until I can get into the mind of an officer, I cannot determine whether he or she is making stops based on race." Do you hear that folks? Until you can get into the mind of the officer. But that's not all. This little study actually cost the taxpayers of Arizona money. It was conducted as part of a settlement of a 2001 lawsuit accusing state troopers of targeting minority motorists on freeways near Flagstaff, Arizona. That lawsuit was brought by none other than the ACLU. As a result of this lawsuit, the settlement included an agreement to gather detailed information on traffic stops by all officers. Professor Engel was a consultant for the state in the lawsuit, and guess what ... the Department of Public Safety (or I should say, Arizona taxpayers) paid her to conduct her three-year research project. A project that determined that you cannot prove that racial profiling exists. I have a simple question here. Is there any historical evidence to back up a premise that there has been a higher instance of contraband or illegal substances found in cars driven by blacks and Hispanics? If that's the case .... Then can it be said that these police officers are acting on that evidence rather than a racial prejudice? I think that if you surveyed most major cities you would find that there are more police patrols in high crime neighborhoods than in low crime neighborhoods. If those high crime neighborhoods happen to be minority neighborhoods ... is this racial profiling?
A GREAT EMAIL ... FOR A CHANGE
I am a seventeen year old female attending a government school here in Atlanta, and am ashamed to say that I have been politically apathetic my whole life (unlike my mother who is a diehard FairTax fanatic). I have never cared for, liked, nor understood politics (and I blame my government school for failing to teach me) until recently when my mom handed me a copy of Somebody's Gotta Say It. I read the book in one day, laughed out loud at your wit, and cursed out loud about the injustice occurring in our country today. Since I finished that book a few weeks ago I have been unable to stop reading other books that focus on the individual and not the government. I have personally made it my mission to inform high school students about the lies that they are being fed, and have already begun to write columns for my school newspaper. I just want to thank you for giving me the individual voice I need to stand out amongst classrooms filled with Liberals. Thank you for always speaking the truth, and for defending the American people.
REDNECK SCRAP BOOK Hey, let's have a cookout! Grill? Who needs a grill? More in the Redneck Scrap Book. READING ASSIGNMENTS Nancy Pelosi wants to help veterans get jobs in the Congress. Lawmakers say that they are close to an agreement on a revised S-CHIP bill that they believe will withstand President Bush's veto. But even Oregon, one of the most liberal US states, defeated a plan to raise tobacco taxes to provide universal health care for children. French President Nicolas Sarkozy addressed the US Congress yesterday saying, "We love America." Wow. Maybe we've gotten through to one Democrat ... House Majority Leader Steny Hoyer (D-Md.) said that the troop surge has had a significant impact on the situation in Iraq. Just in case you were not aware, "All modern discoveries are by Muslim scientists." At least that is according to a Columbia University professor. Gotta love academia. More than 15,000 people have asked the government since February to have their names removed from the terrorist watch list. A jazz musician and martial arts instructor from Manhattan was sentenced to 15 years in prison for agreeing to help train al Qaeda fighters in hand-to-hand combat. The FBI is making an effort to reach out to the Muslim community. The only problem is who within the community they are deciding to reach out to. The federal government gives tens of millions of dollars worth of grants every year on abstinence programs. And guess what, the programs are still not working. This money is just being poured down a rat hole. A complete waste. The number of U.S. girls that take medication for diabetes more than doubled between 2002 and 2005, and researchers believe it is almost certainly because of rising obesity. There has been a decline in urban outdoorsmen, according to the Department of Housing and Urban Development. Homeless dropped nearly 12 percent from 2005 to 2006. How about a little UN hypocrisy ... the UN panel on Climate Change is going to host a conference on global warming at tropical resort in Bali. A famous New York eatery has set the world record for the most expensive dessert by offering a $25,000 chocolate sundae. And to finish it off with a little insensitivity ...
