AFTERTHOUGHT!

RANDOM THOUGHTS

They're starting to blame the S. California wildfires on global warming. As I said, this is to be expected. When, though, are the environmentalists going to start taking the heat for their role here? Do "environmentalists" fight to prevent the construction of fire breaks because they are truly concerned for rat habitat? Or do they fight these fire breaks because deep inside they truly want to see the houses owned by those evil rich SOBs up the hill burn to the ground?

Oh ... and this economic study on the effect of women voting. Hey, look ... I have NEVER said that I want to deny the vote to women ... I would just like to see some ideas as to how we can convince these women that their true security does not lie in government.

OK ... back on the air. How about a few reading assignments.

Police in Frederick, Md. Pulled over a driver because he had too many air fresheners in his car ... the driver said he was only pulled over because he is Hispanic.

Yeah, like any Homeowners Associations will let you park this in your driveway.

More than a quarter of pregnant women in West Virginia smoke cigarettes during pregnancy.

And if your little teenager is a smoker they are five times more likely to drink and 13 times more likely to use marijuana.

CALIFORNIA FIRES ... BUSH'S FAULT. OF COURSE!

Well, you knew this just had to happen. Fires are devastating California from North of Los Angeles down to San Diego. Hundreds of thousands of people have had to flee their homes. Disaster is an understatement. So along comes MoveOn Moonbat Senator Barbara Boxer to announce who is to blame. And who would that be? Why none other than George Bush. It would seem that President Bush has taken the time off from killing children and becoming amused as our servicemen are killed in Iraq to plot these fire strategies for California. And just how is this all Bush's fault? Why, he sent all of those California National Guardsmen to Iraq .... For his amusement, of course.

It must be really strange to have such a bizarre woman representing you in the U.S. Senate.

This will just be the beginning. Look for more and more Democrats to lay the blame for the California fires .. and the failure to contain them .. on Bush. Hey .. it's what Democrats do.

But the Harry Reid isn't much better. You knew that this had to happen sooner or later also. Reid is blaming the fires on global warming. There is, of course, no scientific proof whatsoever of this ... nor is there any evidence ... but as long as you have a natural disaster on your hands, you might as well find a way to use it to push your agenda. So ... global warming it is!

The truth is that these fires .. well, not the fires themselves, but the severity of the fires .. can be blamed on whacko environmentalists. Every time someone in California suggests thinning out the brush that fuels these fires you have some environmentalist screaming about kangaroo rats or field mice or some such nonsense. I can remember many years ago there was a community outside of Los Angeles that wanted to clear the brush that abutted their homes. The environmental moonbats said no .. they went to court and managed to prevent the creation of a fire break. One homeowner told the eco-radicals to take a hike, and created his firebreak anyway. While the tree huggers were fuming, along came the fire. Can you guess which was the only home in the neighborhood that didn't burn down?

Now ... I know I'm not the first person to have thought of this. Do you remember about four years ago ... there was a report that some Al Qaeda detainees had said something about starting fires in a Western state? Here's the story from USA Today, dated July 11, 2003. Well ... doesn't it seam just the least bit curious that all of these fires from north of Los Angeles to San Diego erupted at pretty much the same time? No, I'm not saying they were started by terrorists. I am saying that if terrorists had decided to set the fires it would have been a pretty easy task ... and there is some history here.

HILLARY-RICHARDSON TICKETS?

Dick Morris predicts that Hillary Clinton will easily win the Democratic nomination. He also says that she will choose New Mexico Gov. Bill Richardson as her vice president. Dick also points to what I have been saying all along: "single moms" (or young, single women) will be the deciding factor in the 2008 election. And when it comes to Bill Richardson, Dick Morris says that he is likely to draw out the Hispanic and Latino vote.

Get ready my friends. Looks like it's going to be President Rodham. The real question is whether Hillary is going to win this thing, or if the Republicans are going to hand it over to her with their unimaginative and lackluster campaign.

DREAM ACT ... AGAIN

As early as today, Senator Harry Reid could revive the DREAM Act, which would grant amnesty to millions of illegal immigrants. The sad part is that Reid and his compadres have crafted this in a way that has gained little media attention, which means that he might actually get away with it. Millions of criminal aliens will be granted amnesty and the rest of the country won't even know about it.

The compromise is not surprisingly also supported by Sen. Ted Kennedy and Sen. Dick Durbin. Let's see what some of the provisions call for this time around:

  • Conditional legal status for any illegal alien who claims to have arrived in the U.S. prior to age 16.
  • Any illegal alien can apply for the program.
  • Those who gain legal status then can sponsor any family members, allowing additional millions to access the program.
  • There would be a ban on deportation for anyone who applies.
  • Illegals would be granted readily accepted into colleges and universities.

Do you see anything in there about border security? How about extra law enforcement to stabilize or secure our borders? Punishments for sanctuary cities? None. Nothing. And that's not the end of it. Illegals who apply for the DREAM Act can count their green card status toward the five years needed to attain citizenship ... lawful immigrants don't have this luxury. Why should we give this fast track to criminals?

Oh ...by the way. Can you see any way we could prove that an illegal was not in this country before he turned 16?

This is a free pass ... a ploy for votes. Nothing less.

THE 'PEACEFUL' RELIGION

And now for your friendly radical Muslim update. An Egyptian weekly paper has done some investigating into Egyptian text books. It turns out that a popular Quran commentary for children contains vehement incitement against Christians and Jews, and calls on [Muslim] children and adults to fight them.

One of the interpretations reads: 'Allah commands the believers to fight all the infidels who do not believe in Allah and in the Latter Day [i.e. in the Day of Judgment], who do not follow His instructions regarding what is allowed and prohibited, and who do not believe in the true faith, which is Islam - i.e. the Jews and the Christians'...

And that is just the beginning, folks. In Pakistan, forget about trying to go to school if you are a non-Muslim. The Talebanization of Pakistan is getting worse as the government refuses to stand up to the thugs.

One case involved a Catholic-run public high school in the Swat Valley, which is now being overrun by the Taliban. In a recent letter, a group called Janisaran-i-Islam (Sacrifices of Islam) attacked the school administrators for "forcibly converting students" and "encouraging un-Islamic behavior."

The group called for the firing of all Christians employed by the school and demanded that extremist Muslims replace them. The group then threatened suicide bombers if its orders were not followed. And rather than standing up against the Taliban, the local government actually agreed to the letter. It ordered that all of the female students cover their heads to preserve local Islamic morality ...

US MISSILE DEFENSE

Yesterday Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad said that he would not negotiate with anyone about its right to nuclear technology. He says, "[The UN] said that if Iran suspends its activities, they will hold talks with us. But they don't know that the Iranian nation is in favor of negotiations but will not negotiate over its rights at all ... Iran will not retreat one iota."

And while Iran takes a hard stance on his nuclear efforts, the US is backing down on its proposed missile defense system, saying that it may delay activating the system until there is "definitive proof" of a missile threat from Iran. So it looks like the US is going to sit and wait for Iran to test missiles and prove that they have nuclear capability.

The Pentagon is looking to install 10 interceptor rockets in Poland, which would link to a tracking radar system in the Czech Republic and other elements of the current US missile defense system. It could defend all of Europe against long-range missiles fired from the Middle East.

Yesterday I mentioned the affect that the Polish election may have on this project. Defense Secretary Robert Gates was in Prague yesterday, where the US still seems to have approval for program. This is based on a "shared worry" about future missile threats and a "moral, historical" sense of appreciation for American support for Czech democracy, according to Tomas Pojar, deputy minister of foreign affairs. But he also says that Prague doesn't need to rush into a deal.

So what are they waiting for? Months? Years? The Czechs seems to believe it will be a few more months than the US timetable currently anticipates before negotiations and votes are complete. Limited operation was scheduled for 2011 and fully operational by 2013. One of the biggest opponents to the system is Iran's buddy Vladimir Putin.

The Pentagon wants to install 10 interceptor rockets in Poland which, when linked to a proposed tracking radar in the Czech Republic and to other elements of the existing U.S. missile defense system based in the United States, could defend all of Europe against a long-range missile fired from the Middle East.

ENGLAND GETS PHYSICAL

England's leading government advisor proposed a radical plan to improve the nation's health. One part of that plan is including a workplace "exercise hour." Figures show that England is the fattest country in the EU, and so the government is taking the initiative to make people exercise, improve their diets, and give up smoking.

Now when it comes to smoking ... smokers would be forced to apply annually for a $400 smoker's license. You would need the smoking permit in order to purchase cigarettes. The advisor says that it would ensure smoker had to make a conscious decision to continue smoking and require people to become "registered addicts".

You know ... as long as pathetic smokers can access our health care system to handle the problems caused by their disgusting habit, maybe they should have to buy a license. No license, no health care for smoking related problems. I'll have to think about this --- but it does seem to have some merit.

REDNECK SCRAP BOOK

If you've ever been to a NASCAR race, you'll probably agree that there are many rednecks who seem to be following this diet. I'm thinking it doesn't work all that well. More in the Redneck Scrap Book.

Dan Thomasson is particularly not fond of me. Click on the link and enjoy yourselves! Note, please, that at the very beginning of his column Dan Thomasson lies about Rush Limbaugh. Par for the liberal course, I guess.

Have you been keeping up with the media myths about the Jena 6? These thugs are becoming folk heroes. We'll start with the fiction of the "whites only tree." This from the Christian Science Monitor.

Tony Blankley on why we are losing Turkey. Hint ... Nancy Pelosi didn't help matters, but the problem was serious before she came along with here Armenian genocide ploy.

Iraq is going to help Turkey crack down on Kurdish terrorists in northern Iraq. Bush says that he is committed to working with Turkey and Iraq. We'll let you know when we figure out just what that means.

Rep. Fortney "Pete" Stark apologized on the House floor. I guess I'll have to get off his case for a while. Actually ... the apology looked heartfelt, so we'll give him the benefit of the doubt.

An Oklahoma state lawmaker refused the gift of a Koran because, "Most Oklahomans do not endorse the idea of killing innocent women and children in the name of ideology."

Fidel Castro says that President Bush is threatening nuclear war and famine and could spark WWIII. Hey, Fidel ... try to understand this before you take your dirt nap. We defeated your communist buddies in World War III. We're in World War IV now ... the war against Islamic radicalism. Have you thought of changing your name to Mohammed?

The leader of Spain's conservative party was blasted for downplaying the threat of global warming at a conference that was attended by OwlGore. Global warming is a fraud. So is OwlGore. Blast me.

In San Diego they are using "reverse 911" to alert people of the need to evacuate. You would think that the smoke and flames would suffice.

This is the incompetence of government, folks. Two government agencies cannot coordinate how to use the vaccine for anthrax, and so they are going to waste $100 million a year because they can't figure out how to work together.

Your tax dollars are funding television monitors and other equipment needed to play a short movie made by Walt Disney to make foreign tourists feel more welcome.

And if you haven't had enough government outrages, the US State Department cannot figure out what it has received in exchange for a billion-dollar contract with a security firm to provide training services for Iraqi police.

A government middle-school classroom was placed under lockdown after a student ... was hit with a toy. The little angel is now suffering from a swollen lip, and the police are interviewing students to figure out exactly what happened. Move the little bastards to Guantanamo.

In towns across the country, police are giving radar guns to residents to let them catch speeders in their neighborhoods.

France is trying an experiment by making museums free for the next six months to see if they will attract a wider audience.

You don't hear this every day. Miss England has been told to "fatten up" if she wants a chance to win the Miss World pageant.

The Japanese have invented a portable toilet for cars. As long as you can pull off near the woods I don't see the need.

Before we go ... wanna mess around with Jo the plumber? Here you go.

In case you missed it yesterday, here's that column written by Justin! This is the column in the school newspaper sent the principal into a panic ... running around and confiscating uncirculated copies of the column.
