LOOK FOR THE RELUCTANT CANDIDATE Wasn't that brilliant? In the second hour of the program today you heard a discussion with a caller on how to select a candidate to support in the presidential beauty contest. I suggested that perhaps the first rule of thumb should be to look for the reluctant candidate. Look for the candidate who really doesn't want to serve, but believes that he must in order to address certain situations other candidates aren't willing to face. Sounds like a good idea for a column, doesn't it. I'll get right to work on that. AND ... A FEW LAST MINUTE READING ASSIGNMENTS This one was for our BBC friends: Muslim dentist in the UK told a patient that she had to wear a headscarf in order to be treated. Oh no! Imagine this. People are concerned that Hillary Clinton's government healthcare plan doesn't cover illegal aliens .... Don't you just hate that? Can't you see the federal government requiring illegal aliens to buy a health insurance policy? We can set up booths next to those water stations in the Arizona desert. Ya'll keep wanting me to talk about this story, but it doesn't interest me. But since you seem so interested in tasers, here it is. Frankly, I think the jerk deserved it. |
 HILLARYCARE REVEALED
 Hillary Rodham, almost certain to be the nominee of the Democrat MoveOn Party, finally unveiled her government-run healthcare plan yesterday. For comic relief Ms. Rodham told the assembled crowd that this health care plan would not be "government run." It's pretty much what everyone anticipated.
In essence ... everyone will be required to purchase a health insurance policy, either on their own or through their employer. And just who is going to require the purchase of these policies? Your local sheriff? Well, not exactly. The Imperial Federal Government will do the requiring here, and, one must assume, the enforcing. Now here's a question that you won't probably hear many people asking, and that's sad. Just where in our Constitution does the federal government acquire the right – the power – to force free citizens to purchase anything, let alone a health insurance policy. The Constitution is clear on this point, the federal government can only take actions that are specifically authorized by the Constitution. All other powers are reserved for the states or the people. Nowhere in that document do you see anything that can in be interpreted to allow the feds to tell you what you must purchase. In her little talk yesterday Hillary drew a comparison to auto insurance. She said that states require people to purchase auto insurance before they can drive. This should come as no surprise, but she's wrong. The only time you can be required to purchase automobile insurance by a state government is IF you wish to drive an automobile on a state or government owned highway. You can own a car and drive it around your private property to your heart's content without buying insurance, or without wearing a seatbelt of having operating headlights, for that matter. Hillary's comparison is absurd, but I suppose it's the best she can do. How will Hillary's government enforce this requirement? Is everyone required to file a report with the government detailing their health insurance company and policy number? Just how high will the costs of compliance here be? And what happens if you fail to buy a policy. Are you jailed? Does the government withhold your tax refund to purchase a policy for you? What if you don't have a tax refund coming? If you just absolutely refuse to buy a health insurance policy, will the government get some sort of a judgment against you and seize enough of your property to pay for the policy? More questions: What will the policies entail? If you're not a drug addict are you still going to have to pay for drug rehab coverage? What if you have no plans to get pregnant? Are you still going to have to pay for maternity benefits? Let me tell you how this is going to work. Once the government mandates that every person must, under penalty of God knows what, buy a health insurance policy, you're going to have every medical special interest group out there demanding that the government require that those policies provide payments for their pet medical procedures. Ophthalmologists will demand coverage for eye correction surgery. Psychiatrists will demand coverage for psychological issues. Oncologists will demand coverage for experimental cancer procedures that have not as yet been proven effective. These people will be lining up .. and they'll be throwing the campaign donations around like confetti ... and the politicians will give them exactly what they want. Oh .. and the MoveOn Democrats just love to yammer endlessly about the uninsured. The truth about the uninsured? Most are only uninsured for a period of less than a year. Many simply have made a choice not to buy health insurance. Some have so much wealth that they essentially self-insure. The truth is far from the scenario they paint. Oh .. and wouldn't you know it? Hillary's plan includes increasing taxes. She doesn't call it a tax increase .. .she used the MoveOn approved code phrase of "repealing the Bush tax cuts." Remember. This is not about making you more healthy. This is not about improving the delivery of health care services in this country. This is ONLY about increasing the power of government and politicians. AFTERTHOUGHT? OK .. you're right. I've forgotten to add my afterthoughts to these notes after the show is over a few times. I didn't know you liked them so much! Extra work! No problem. AND HERE COMES OBAMA'S ECONOMIC PLAN But we'll have to wait a few days. What suspense! I can hardly stand it! Barack Obama is going to release his economic plan for America! Though I don't exactly know that that plan will be; I do think I would be on safe ground in suggesting what it would not be. Barack Obama will most certainly propose a broader role for government, and will discount the value of the free marketplace. Oh ... and he'll most certainly talk about raising taxes, but, like Hillary, he'll couch his tax increase proposals in MoveOn language ... repealing the Bush tax cuts. WITH-HOLDING INFO ... SO WE DON'T OFFEND MUSLIMS  Just days before September 11th of this year, Dearborn, Michigan prepared to commemorate 9/11 like the rest of the country. So when Houssein Zorkot was arrested on September 8th for wielding an AK-47 in a popular park Dearborn park, the media reported the incident ... right??
Wrong. Zorkot is a Muslim. He's a 26-year-old medical student of Lebanese decent. After wielding a semi-automatic assault rifle in a public park, the city waited four days for an arraignment, press release and comment about the incident. Then the truth was revealed. Dearborn's Mayor, "Jack" O'Reilly, Jr., purposefully delayed the release of information about the case. Apparently city officials were afraid that if they announced they arrested an armed Middle Eastern Muslim just before 9/11 ... it would cause "anti-Muslim sentiments" and "fan the flames of terrorism." And we elect these people? BY THE WAY ... Wasn't it good to see that murdering bastard OJ Simpson in handcuffs over the weekend? Not that he isn't used to that. Let's hope that a jury in Las Vegas isn't as brain-dead stupid (remember, you can't fix stupid) as that one in Los Angeles. Plea deal on the way. VENEZUELA'S GOVERNMENT SCHOOLS Hugo Chavez is now after schools in Venezuela. On Monday he threatened to close or take over all private schools. If the schools refuse to submit to his socialist government oversight, he'll simply take them over. Isn't government just wonderful? Chavez says, "Society cannot allow the private sector to do whatever it wants." By "whatever it wants" he means that his government just cannot allow for parents to seize control of their children's education. Chavez and his education secretary – who happens to be his brother – are developing a new curriculum with new textbooks, to be ready by next year. They are being developed to help educate "the new citizen." Yesterday I printed the ten basic planks of the Communist Manifesto. In case you've forgotten, education of the children in government controlled schools was number 10. Hugo understands why. Do you? A BUREAUCRAT AT HER FINEST  The head of emergency management at the Minnesota Department of Transportation has lived a leisurely life ... thanks to tax payer dollars. In fact, even when the bridge collapsed back in August, Sonia Kay Morphew Pitt just couldn't stand the thought of letting a little disaster get in the way of her precious trips.
When the bridge collapsed, Pitt was attending a Harvard University program on terrorist attacks and natural disasters. When she heard the news, did she rush back to her home state to coordinate relief efforts? Why of course not. In fact, she stayed another two days in Massachusetts, and then she flew to Washington to spend eight more days ... all on your dime. She says she was doing "group project work in DC." The expense report listed her Washington trip as "training." For this "training," Pitt gets paid $40.76 an hour ... that's about $85,000 a year. This woman has a budget of $5.4 million, part of which comes from the federal government. Clearly she missed the memo that her job/presence was needed to coordinate relief efforts. Pitt has taken 17 out-of-state trips in the last year. The cost ... $26,400. She also took the liberty of adding pit-stops along the way on her "business trips." These stops include Washington and Las Vegas. All thanks to your tax dollars and the incompetence of government. Yes ... she's a Democrat. THIS HAS NO SIGNIFICANCE... ...other than the amusement factor.

READING ASSIGNMENTS Mike Adams wants me to read something on the air. Here's the column. Fine! I'll read it. It's good stuff! Maybe Republicans are getting a clue. Bush is threatening to veto a terror insurance bill that allows the government to be a last resort insurer from terrorism damages. The White House says that this expands the scope federal government. Can you actually believe they said that? Richard Collins writes that Hillary's Hsu problems might be an indication of corruption within Hillary's campaign. Never mind though ... Hillary may well make it to the White House, on the vote of single women. David Limbaugh tells us about the party of George Soros .. and that would be the same party that I sometimes refer to as the MoveOn Democrat Party. Henry Kissinger says that politicians need to put politics aside in order to save Iraq. He makes an excellent point that the war cannot be won by military means alone. The MoveOn crowd doesn't want to hear it. Islam is grateful for Cindy Sheehan ... thanking her for her efforts and "giving hope" to a change in US policy in the Middle East. Lunatics thanking the Barking Moonbat. Gotta love it. The United Nations High Commissioner for Human Rights Louise Arbour says that European nations need to tackle their problem of "bigotry and prejudice" in regards to its Muslim citizens. She doesn't happen to mention that Muslims need to do something about the bigotry and prejudice expressed against people not Muslim. Learn more about Hillary Care 2.0! Remember .. this is about power, not about you. Mitt Romney says that Iran's President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad should be banned from his imminent UN visit and should be indicted for war crimes. Iran says that it has 600 missiles pointed at Israel and will launch them if Iran is attacked ... and that will "only be the first reaction." They're second reaction will be to run for the mountains and hide. Congress is trying to attack amnesty to the defense-authorization bill. In a plan similar to what we saw this past summer, Congress wants to offer citizenship for "undocumented youths" if they join the military. U.S. border patrol seems to be having a problem with its "revolving door." More and more illegal immigrants with criminal histories in the US are slipping back into the country, even after multiple deportations. Here's an idea. Deport them. Then tell them if they come back across the border they'll be shot on sight. Surely if our Constitution can be interpreted to allow the government to force free individuals to buy things they don't want to buy, we can shoot returning criminal illegal aliens, can't we? Nail one or two ... problem solved. This Saturday, China will be celebrating "no car day!" This is what they call a contribution to the fight against "man-made global warming." Meanwhile, a Chinese man died after a three-day marathon of Internet surfing at a cybercafé. Must have been the shellfish. But wait! Hillary's health insurance policies can contain treatment for Internet addiction! Oh Belinda will be happy to hear this. Americans are getting lazy about washing their hands. Atlanta's Turner Field turned out to be the worst with only 57% of men washing their hands after using the restroom. On the flip-side, 95% of women at Turner Field wash their hands. At Texas A&M they taught us not to pee on our hands when we went to the restroom. Six out of every 10 people in the UK would rather die than do any form of exercise. Barry Manilow refuses to make an appearance on "The View" because he won't appear on the same stage as a conservative, co-host Elizabeth Hasselbeck. Manilow says the conservative host is "dangerous and offensive." Now we know that Manilow is a jerk. Speaking of Barry Manilow. A judge makes noise violators listen to endless amounts of Barry Manilow as punishment. A study says that an older men with a younger women will result in increased life spans for future generations!
