 AFTERTHOUGHT!
LEAVING THE NEST Received an email from a Naples friend this morning. He and his wife dropped off their third, and last child at college over the weekend. She cried all the way home .. .and then started crying again as soon as she saw his empty bedroom. Been there, done that. Look, folks. Consider the alternative ... that being that they never leave. How long would it be before you sneaked into their bedroom in the middle of the night and put a pillow on their face. Speaking of that ... my daughter told me this many years ago. What does it mean when your husband/boyfriend won't stop moaning? It means you're not pressing down on the pillow hard enough. TEIXEIRA SONG You heard me talking about those two Auburn students who wrote a song for Mark Teixeira? Well ... here's your link. The Atlanta Braves are inviting these two young studs to Atlanta to do their little song live before fans ... then to record their song so that it can be played on HD on the big screen! Give it a listen. These kids are good. WHY NOT RON PAUL? I've been getting more and more emails castigating me for not singing the Ron Paul song over and over, day after day, on my show. Sorry, folks. I know that Ron Paul is a Libertarian ... but for me the absolute overriding issue in this election, and possibly many elections to come, is the protection of our country from the forces of Islamic radicalism. I want to take the fight to the Islamic terrorists, not wait to fight them when they reach our borders. Ron Paul will not do that ... therefore I cannot support Ron Paul. Just that simple. HISTORICAL INACCURACIES Royal and I had an interesting discussion ... lasting only a few moments ... that could be a good topic for a show; historical inaccuracies. Here's just a few: - We didn't have a civil war; it was the War Between the States.
- America is not, nor was it designed to be a Democracy.

MORMONS During our discussion of Mitt Romney and whether or not the fact that he is Mormon would be a detriment to his campaign, some callers said some things about Mormons that might not be true. ACTIVISTS SAY 'STOP FLYING'  For all you warmers out there, environmental activists (as the mainstream media likes to call them) are on their latest campaign to combat climate change – stop flying so much.
Why are they targeting aviation? They will tell you that it's because aviation is considered a "luxury." Protesters have been sitting outside London's Heathrow airport for days. A protester said, "Aviation is a luxury we can live without" and that we need to scale back right now. What they won't tell you is that they aren't particularly fond of aviation because they see it as a tool of the rich. Only the evil, filthy, disgusting, insipid, nasty rich get to fly on those airplanes ... especially the cretins in first class. I've been in aviation for over 30 years .. trust me on this one. Many people absolutely hate aviation, especially private aviation, because they deem it to be a playground for people more successful than they. For goodness sake, don't confuse them with facts. Like the fact that the value of the average privately owned piston (that means non-jet) aircraft in this country is less than the price of a complete new bass rig. (For those of you in more urban areas, a bass rig is a bass boat, motor, electric trawling motor, tackle, a cooler full of beer and a trailer.) An airport watch group in Britain says that there should be a direct tax to stifle aviation growth ... otherwise "it will be impossible to change the mindset of a generation that thinks little of hopping cheap flights for weekend pursuits." Talk about changing mindsets. How do we change the mindsets of these myrmidons who have glommed on to this global warming and climate change nonsense? In just the last month NASA has changed its temperature data, and now we find that the hottest year on record was 1934, not 1998? Day after day the evidence mounts that these global warming/climate change folks are completely full of it .. and day after day the mainstream media ignores the evidence. These anti-aviation "activists" are merely being true to their first cause, the destruction of capitalism. Airplanes are seen as a capitalist tool .. and thus to be attacked. GETTING NEKKID FOR CLIMATE CHANGE! If you click here you will have the privilege of reading a story about hundreds of people stripping nekkid and posing for a picture on a glacier somewhere in the Swiss Alps. A melting glacier. The nekkid people say that the photograph is aimed to draw attention to ... guess what? That's right! GLOBAL WARMING! Oh .. and the effects of man-made climate change. Now here's what they aren't telling you. At the base of one melting glacier in Europe they actually found a silver mine! That's right .. a mine. The mining tools were neatly stacked where they had been left by the miners as they left the mine for the winter. The only problem was that a mini ice-age was on the way, and the snow never melted enough for them to go back to their summer mining activities. Year after year of snow created a glacier .. a glacier that is now melting as the mini ice-age has ended. What does this all mean? This means that the Earth was actually warmer back then ... back when this mine was active ... than it is now! And guess what? There were no SUVs and airplanes around to dirty up the air. BREAK THE LAW ... BECOME AN "ACTIVIST"  Yup ... more "activists" in the news. This one is an illegal immigrant .. a criminal .. who hid in a church in Chicago for a year to avoid deportation.
The deportation order for Elvira Arellano was signed in 1997. She came to this country in 1997. Caught and deported, she returned .. illegally .. and moved to the Chicago area. She used a false Social Security number to get a job at O'Hare airport where she had access to aircraft. Are you getting all of this down? She comes into the country illegally. Breaks the law. She is deported and then comes back ... again illegally. This time she breaks some additional laws by using a false Social Security number to get a job. Not just any job .. but a job that gains her access to commercial airplanes at the world's second busiest airport. She's caught again, and this time she's convicted of working under a false SS number. Now she's not only a criminal .. she's a convicted criminal. Instead of deporting her immediately, or putting her in jail, she's turned loose with instructions to surrender to authorities last August. She then moves into a storefront church in Chicago and claims sanctuary. Now she decides to emerge from the church and travel to Los Angeles to, as they say, "campaign for immigration reform." That means to campaign for amnesty for criminal aliens. Elvira Arellano is arrested in Los Angeles .. and we're now waiting for all hell to break loose. One particularly dense immigration "activist" from Chicago, Javier Rodriguez, asks "How dare they arrest this woman?" How dare they arrest her? She's been convicted of a crime, you moron, and is a fugitive from justice! I guess that's the problem with so many of these pro-amnesty "activists." They have no concept whatsoever of what the "rule of law" means. CANADA RULES If you are a homosexual in Canada you can officially tie the knot. But in a recent U.S. ruling, if you get married in Canada and come to New York State ... you can be treated as legally married. If the ruling stands, it basically means that same-sex marriages are legal in the state of New York because it is so easy to hop the border to Canada. This is the first time Canadian marriage laws have trumped U.S. laws in U.S. court. Me? Couldn't care less. What they do, and what they call their relationship has no affect whatsoever on me and my marital relationship. We'll just let the turbos get all wound up over this.
THE FRENCH VISIT IRAQ The French foreign minister made a surprise visit to Baghdad on Sunday. This is the first time the French have been to Iraq since the U.S. war began. The foreign minister said that Paris wanted to "turn the page" and look to the future. When asked whether or not the French will be helping Americans in Iraq, the foreign minister said he was on a "fact finding mission." The "fact" is that the French, true to form, have been of little or no help at all in the war against Islamic fascism. But .. this is a huge symbol that French President Sarkozy is sending to American and the world, since the bitter American-French relations flared in 2003. Maybe things are getting better. KARL ROVE ON HILLARYCARE  Karl Rove took a stab at Hillary Clinton on Sunday. He points out that Hillary's vision of healthcare reform is to "let the government do it all."
Here's a recent list from Rove, outlining all of the positive reforms Hillary has voted against ... simply because it takes power away from government and gives it to the individual. - She voted against providing seniors with a prescription drug benefit.
- She voted against allowing people to save tax free for their out-of-pocket medical expenses.
- She voted against medical liability reform so that docs are not forced out of practice by junk lawsuits.
- She opposes leveling the playing field so that people who pay for health insurance out of their own pocket get the same tax break the big corporations get for providing health care benefits to their employees.
- She's against allowing people to shop for health insurance across state lines like we do with auto insurance so the consumers would have more choices and there'd be competition to get your business, give you more for less.
- She's voting for penalizing seniors who have those private health care plans through Medicare.
Take a look at the list. Think about all of those items. Every one of those reforms would have empowered the people. Every one of those reforms would have allowed people to take a bit more responsibility for their own health care. That is precisely why Hillary voted against each and every one of them. Many Americans need to rid themselves of the notion that people like Hillary actually give a flying fornication about their health status. What they care about is government power. Every step taken in congress must be a step that takes power away from the people and hands it to the Imperial Federal Government. The ultimate goal here is not to improve access to health care, but to make each and every American dependent on the federal government for their health care. This is all about weakening the individual and strengthening government. Wake up and smell the poison. READING ASSIGNMENTS Mark Steyn is excellent as always. Here's his latest column on the ever-expanding undocumented-immigration protection program, as he calls it. Don't the Democrats get it? Another Democrat, Minnesota Rep. Jim Oberstar, wants to increase taxes to pay for infrastructure repairs. Remember, please, that out of 147 pork earmarks for Minnesota in the latest spending bill, not ONE of those earmarks was for infrastructure repair. The game here is to create earmarks for votes, and raise taxes for necessary spending. On September 9, 2007 New York City will host the 22nd Annual Muslim Day Parade. Take a look at some of the former participants. Looks like a who's who of terrorist funding and Islamic radicals. John McCain says he is doing what is "right for America." But clearly when it comes to immigration, America doesn't think so. Don't you just love it when politicians tell you that they're doing what is right for the country rather than what they think will get them the most votes? The illegal immigrant who hid in a U.S. church for a year was finally arrested ... who knows if she will actually be deported. Hugo Chavez says that the U.S. is trying to undermine his constitutional changes that he is trying to impose in Venezuela. The changes would allow Chavez to be president indefinitely. Chaves needs the U.S. as the evil bogeyman. Hugo also took the time to put a rumor to rest: Don't worry ... Fidel Castro is still alive. Environmentalists can't seem to decide which is better, paper or plastic? I vote for plastic ... wrapped around their heads. (Uh oh ... that was a bit overboard, don't you think?) After a long struggle, the BBC removed a statement referring to Jesus as a "bastard," meanwhile many claim that it will remove anti-Muslim comments almost immediately. American Airlines is suing Google for selling rivals AA trademarked keyword ads. Apparently it costs the government more than a penny to make a penny. Well, that's government for you. This is for all you parents out there. A recent poll shows that that teenagers cite their relationships with their parents as bringing them the most happiness in life. A Democrat strategist says that if Mike Huckabee had more money he would be the Democrat's worst nightmare. Somehow this article fails to mention the real reason Huckabee came in 2nd in Iowa. It's a tax thing, I believe. We definitely need more politicians like this here at home. Perhaps this guy can move here and run for something. Now this is what happens when I spend too much time cursing the Internet looking for interesting stuff. And then there's this. The BBC seems to have this ugly little habit of allowing any slam of Christianity to remain posted on BBC message boards for quite some time. But let someone post a negative comment about the wonderful, serene, loving, peaceful cult of Islam and see how long it lasts. The feds want all porn movie producers to provide them with an up-to-date complete list of all porn stars ... somehow this has something to do with protecting children. Perhaps you could give your ex wife a camel as a lovely parting gift. Found this on the internets and have no idea what the context is: The "Now I realize that I'm not gay" Children's Book. I suspect whoever put out this book doesn't entertain the thought that people might be born gay. Although who knows what other materials and guidance are offered along side this book to children who have suffered molestation. |
