FREEDOM CONCERT TONIGHT
Just a reminder, tonight is the
Hannity Freedom Concert at Gwinnett Arena!
We're hoping a lot of money is going to be raised for the children and families
of fallen soldiers.
Clark Howard, Oliver North, Rick and Bubba and I will be signing books before
the concert in the concourse of the arena. We'll see you there!
TERRORISTS IN LONDON CONVICTED
Four
of the terrorists involved in the attack on the London transportation system in 2005
were convicted yesterday. Guilty of conspiracy of murder. So now I have
three words for you: Death penalty*. They tried to kill innocent civilians.
One piece of footage shown during the trial showed one of the terrorists trying
to detonate a bomb while standing right in front of a mother and her child. Why
should we spare these terrorists? I don't want them to rot in a prison, because
then British citizens will have to pay for their upkeep – which is something
that these terrorists were not willing to give their fellow citizens. I'm
sorry, Muslim terrorists. I was almost being PC about this, folks. Almost.
All of the terrorists denied the charges. Yeah, I wish I could hear the
testimony on how they planned to weasel their way out of this one. But we do
know two things. We know two of their "defense" arguments as to why they are
not guilty: the devices were intentionally made to be duds and they were
protesting against the Iraq war.
Yeah, right. And I'm warm and fuzzy, not to mention sensitive. First of all the scientists proved that the bombs were viable. That is a proven fact. So there goes that argument. But to say that this was a protest?? Are you buying this? If these doctors wanted to protest the war, how about some signs? How about a press conference? "Golly, folks. We we were just protesting!" Yeah, some excuse.
We know what was going on. They were trying to terrorize the British
people. If you can get the people cowering at the mere mention of the word
"Muslim," then it will be much easier for Muslims to make further inroads in
their attempt to dominate European culture and society.
This is a religious agenda. The Muslim terrorists behind the recent actions
in Great Britain, like countless others, were fueled by hatred of all things not
Muslim and the desire to create an Islamic state. Sure, they may not agree with
the U.S. ... OK so that is an understatement – they definitely don't agree with
the U.S., particularly on foreign policies issues, but in the end it is all
about their desire to see a Western world under the domination of the wonderful,
peaceful religion of Islam.
May they rot in hell.
*OK .. so that was only two words. I just wanted to give Media Matters
something to key off on today. "Boortz lied when he said that he had three
words for you."
HOME-SCHOOLING GAINING POPULARITY
Maybe there is hope after all. Maybe there are more parents out there who
realize that sending their little angels off to government schools each and
every day is just a glorified form of child abuse. More and more parents are
realizing that it's not so much about education as it is about indoctrination.
Now, across the country, home-schooling is becoming
a more legitimate option to government education. That's good news. I
understand that not every child should be home-school – let's face it, there are
some parents out there who are dumber than a box of crayons – but they should at
least have the option of where and how their child is educated. Each year, the
number of parents who decide to home-school their children increases by up to
15%. Wow! With this popularity rate, the government is bound to step in some
time. Lord knows the teacher's unions are doing everything they can to bring
this about. After all, just who are these parents to think that they can do a
better job than the government!"
This comes to my attention because, for the first time in history, the
Supreme Court has recognized home-schooling in an opinion. The first time. Up
until now, it was government schools or private education. That's about it.
But in Morse v. Frederick, Justice Clarence Thomas said, "If parents do not
like the rules imposed by those schools, they can seek redress in school boards
or legislatures; they can send their children to private schools or home school
them; or they can simply move." How that's for some tough love.
I'm sure the teachers unions are not all that happy about this supreme
recognition of home schooling.
THE DUMBING DOWN OF DEMOCRATS
I really think that this is one of the big stories of the day. Maybe because
it is something I've been saying for years ... about liberals, that is.
It looks like we have a high-powered brain scientist serving as the latest
advisor to the Democratic party.
Drew Westen conducted research which leads to his conclusion that
politicians – liberal politicians -- should try and appeal to people's emotions,
rather than bogging them down with data and facts.
Where did we first find out about this research? Why, at the ultra-left wing
"Take Back America" convention, that's where. The study was presented by
researcher, Drew Westen, a psychologist and brain researcher at Emory University
in my hometown of Atlanta.
Here's the ironic part of his study. It sounds to me like Dr. Westen is
basically telling democrats that their constituents are stupid. He is telling
democrats to appeal to constituents' emotions because "it doesn't make sense to
argue an issue using facts and figures ... or to count on voters to make choices
based on sophisticated understandings of policy differences or procedures." And
there you have it. Avoid the facts, just go right for the heart!
Dr. Westen is suggesting that manipulating a voter's emotions is better than
boring them to tears with sophisticated understandings. "Sophisticated
understandings? What's that? Sounds to me like just a phrase denoting basic
worldly knowledge, or being an educated citizen. Mr. Westen says, "[The brain]
prefers conclusions that are emotionally satisfying rather than conclusions that
match the data."
Message to Democrats. Don't bore your constituents with facts. Just tell
them whatever makes them comfortable, warm, happy and all fuzzy.
Hmmmmm .... Not boring constituents with facts. Does that sound at all like
the global warming cultists? But, I digress ......
So what's a good politician to do? How about just scrapping all of the data
and research on global warming, socialized healthcare, voting rights, government
education ... what's the point? If I want to be a good liberal, I should just get
up here and appeal to your emotions. Forget trying to actually understand an
issue ... that would just be too complicated.
You know why this works for democrats, don't you? Because if their voters
actually did the research into any liberal platform issues, they would realize
that the Democrats are wrong. I've been telling you for years that liberals
(that means Democrats) like to argue from the position of emotion and feelings
rather than fact and logic. You'll find it in my book "The Terrible Truth About
Liberals," and that's more than 10 years old! So let's all just sit back and
listen while the "progressives" offer us their preachy little sound bites that
play on your emotions and not your intellect.
The sad reality here is that Dr. Westen probably has this thing figured out
pretty well.
HOW ABOUT SOME EMAIL
OK .... Maybe just one. Someone with the email address
Elzbthalln@aol.com sent me the following message .... Thought you might
enjoy. Remember, as I told you in yesterday's Nuze, the left likes to refer to
conservative talk radio as "hate radio." So ... get a load of this from
Elizabeth:
"yawn you nazi screwball...your day will come....and so will ours...lying
liars like the nazis...you are no better"
It is amusing, isn't it? Some liberals absolutely find it physically and
mentally impossible to express any degree of disagreement with someone they
consider to be a conservative without calling their tormentors Nazis. They're
also really quick to make threats. And they're the peace-loving ones.
We just love getting well thought-out emails from our compassionate and
loving friends on the left.

Book.

READING ASSIGNMENTS
Here's an excellent column to back what I was saying at the top of the news
today. Muslim terrorists are attacking because of their peace-loving religion,
not because of U.S. policies or Western culture.
It looks like an upcoming report card on Iraq is going to say that the
Iraqi government has just flat-out failed to reach certain reform goals. Me
thinks they've been leaning on us a bit hard. The operative rule should be that
the U.S. helps those who help (and reform) themselves.
Just incase you are confused about the reports ... President Bush is
not planning on pulling troops out of Iraq anytime soon.
Aw, here is one more problem to blame Bush for:
the failing tourist industry in Crawford, TX. It seems that his low
approval ratings have not been generating popular visits. I could be wrong, but
I think he might have a few more issues that are slightly more important ...
Don't be fooled. Global warming is far from being a "consensus." Look for
The Great Global Warming Swindle to air on ABC this week ... oops did I say
ABC, I meant the Australian Broadcasting Corporation. God forbid our leftist
mainstream media myrmidons air something that contradicts Al Gore's religion.
Now get this one: Robert F. Kennedy Jr. says that
politicians who are skeptical of the claims on man-made global warming are
traitors and that skepticism toward global warming is treason. Isn't it
nice to hear well thought-out opinions from brilliant environmental scientists
like RFK Jr.?
In even more global warming news, there's a
deadly cold snap going on in South America. There's snow in Buenos Aires
for the first time in 89 years. Oh .. and RFK Jr. forgot to remind us that
global warming only applies to the Northern hemisphere.
The U.K. seems to be having a hard time
sharing terrorist intelligence with Interpol, helping to lead the
investigation spanning several continents.
This is wonderful. Someone has clearly been listening to my show. Bryan
Caplan (no, never heard of him) has written a book called "The Unwisdom of
Crowds – the Myth of the Rational Voter." His argument? It would seem to be
that there are too many people out there without a clue in the world casting
votes that elect politicians the rest of us have to deal with. In fewer words ...
fewer people should vote.
How long before these
Clear Cards – where you pay $100 and zip through airport security lines –
are regulated by the government ... this isn't fair to the poor people who can't
afford these luxuries! If you can't afford a damn Clear Card, why are you
flying to begin with?
The FDA has now approved
a patch for dementia. I think I just saw my talk radio career expand by
about a decade.
Boy I sure hope your newspaper delivery person is this sharp. A delivery
woman in Florida felt as though something was not right with one of her
customers, so she called 911. Turns out
she was right ...
Hugo Chavez continues to give himself
more and more power. Now he has abolished term limits and is re-writing the
Constitution without any outside input except for a group of cronies (whom he
appointed). Oh and religion is on its way out too, just like what happened in
Cuba.
May some good come out of Al Gore III getting arrested ... another look at our
ridiculous
war on drugs and marijuana laws, perhaps. Now the speeding and the other
drugs, I can't speak for that.
Must have been nice to be in Paris yesterday (the city, not the ... well
anyways). It was the first ever
Paris Tourist Day where locals were handed pamphlets, instructing them on
how to be nice to tourists! That's pretty sad.
There's hope out there for the little guys! Looks like women are more likely
to choose
less-buff men as their long-term sweethearts. What does that say about me?
More and more government schools are making
special accommodations to Muslim students. Oddly, some of the people who
scream bloody murder when this is done for Christian students are very silent on
the matter, or they're expressing their outright agreement. I guess for these
people the separation of church and state is fine, but separation of Mosque and
state isn't.
A drug bust? At Atlanta's premiere shopping center? I wonder if these guys
would have taken gift cards. Marijuana! Oh, the humanity!
Israeli intelligence is saying that
time is running out for a strike on Iran. Looks like fun times ahead.
Those Israelis had better be sure not to kill any innocent civilians as they
move to defend their country. Only Muslim terrorists are allowed to kill
innocent civilians.
Do you carry a concealed weapon? Why not? I would much rather be in a
restaurant or other venue with about a dozen people who have passed the
background checks and are packing, then in a place full of people with the
"submit and do what the man with the gun says" attitude.
Read this, if, that is, you have a strong stomach.
NBC's Chuck Todd measures
the presidential race at midpoint.
Is tax reform on its way back to our Congress? Will the FairTax be part of
the debate?
Great column from George Will.
By the say, in the George Will column, you'll run across the word
"Sisyphus." I've seen that word in at least three articles I've read this week
.... So maybe it's time
to hit the dictionary and see just what a Sisyphus is!
Phil suggested we have a look at this: "Life's
a bitch...so Don't Vote For One".
I guess
Professional Angry Muslim Protester is a good job if you can get it.
