DATE CERTAIN FOR SURRENDER

Harry Reid, Nancy Pelosi and the Democrats have finally delivered to Al Qaeda and Islamic radicals across the world a message of American surrender and weakness.  Sure, the Democrats call for a specific date for surrender to Al Qaeda in Iraq will be vetoed ... but the message is clear.  Americans -- at least the party in charge of our congress and our purse strings -- have lost their will to fight.  There they were, Pelosi and Reid, standing in front of one of those made-for-TV backdrops reading "Strategy for Security" cutting the legs out from underneath every man and woman serving in our armed forces, not only in Iraq, but everywhere in the world.

Look --- I understand fully that mistakes have been made in this war.  I'm one who believes that not enough troops were sent to Iraq in the first place.  I still can't understand why we didn't dedicate the resources that were needed to seal the borders with Iran an Syria. Perhaps elements of Saddam's army should have been retained to serve the new Iraq.  Mistakes? Sure!  But what is the proper course of action when mistakes are made? Do you abandon the project, or do you regroup and forge ahead, perhaps wiser from your experience.

I think that from the very beginning the Democrat leadership has been dedicated to undermining Bush in Iraq any way they can.  Their goal has been solitary and simple.  Destroy the Bush presidency and pave the way for complete Democrat control in 2009.  I truly believe that Democrats are perfectly willing to strengthen Islamic terrorists generally and Al Qaeda specifically if that is what needs to be done for them to destroy George Bush.  The desire for revenge for 2000 is that strong.  Perhaps the true motivation behind Democrat obstruction and maneuvering might have become more obvious to the American people if it were not for the fact that the mainstream media shared the Democrats goal ... destroy Bush, defeat Republicans, return liberalism to power in Washington.

By the way ... concerning last night's debate ....Hillary Rodham said last night that her vote to authorize the war in Iraq was "based on the information that was available to me at the time."  Well, guess what?  That is exactly the position President Bush was in when he pressed for war against Saddam Hussein.  Hillary gets a pass on her "information that was available to me at the time" line, Bush does not.  And so it goes.

Now is a good time to have another listen to Vick's phone call, the Ranger who called the show a few weeks ago.

OUR PAL HUGO

Hugo Chavez, our beloved Venezuelan Comrade, decided that he no longer wants TV stations that do not support his commi-loving ways. That's right. He plans to get rid of a Venezuelan TV station purely because it opposes his ideological beliefs.

Luckily, for the last hope of liberty and freedom of individual choice, two-thirds of his countrymen oppose this move. Apparently the thought of missing telanovelas is enough to drive the Venezuelans mad—not their lack of private ownership and the fact that their country is run by a power-wielding socialist dictator.

This comes at a time when Americans are so concerned about being "politically correct," firing talk jocks like Don Imus. I don't condone what Imus said, but at least we have...or maybe I should say had...a country that cognized his right to say it. And yet the Left is so reluctant to criticize Chavez because he stands on a platform "for the people." Well if that is the kind of platform you want Comrade Chavez, then may you stand alone!

On the other hand, stifling the freedom of the press in the USSR did wondrous things for to insure Soviet longevity...right? So go ahead, maybe Chavez is on his way to shooting himself in his own freedom-hating foot.

ROSIE GETS THE BOOT ... .RIGHT IN THE ......

Dearly beloved, we are gathered here today to celebrate the ousting of one Rosie O'Donnell.  No longer will the public be forced to hear her fat trap jabber on about the 911 "conspiracy" or her vitriolic hatred of Donald Trump. (We all know she is just jealous of his comb over...as am I!).  Barbara Walters and "The View" claim that she is leaving because of the money — the bleeding heart liberal just can't get enough.  Go figure.  But we all know it is because audiences, yours included, cannot stand to have her as an outrageous mouthpiece for one minute longer. The people have spoken. Rosie, you're fired!

But fear not, my friends. She plans to come back and guest host special programs on autism and depression.  That's depressing.  This is exactly the sane, level-headed woman that I would want preaching about the mental and physical health of our country.

Oh, and the article happens to be written by my buddy at the NYTimes Jacques Steinberg. You might remember that he is too busy to print a correction about my computer's instrumental musical selection, but he happened to have time to give a big, fat plug to Rosie's personal blog in this article. Here's an idea Jacques: why don't you print a correction to your story, attacking me and talk radio, and then link to Nealz Nuze where readers can read about it first hand (in journalism speak, you might call that "directly from the source"). This way the people can determine for themselves what is truth and what isn't, since in your job as a journalist you don't seem to feel that that is necessary.

DEMOCRATS AND THEIR ANTI-CAPITALIST NONSENSE

Well, here we go again.  The Democrats are proposing a "windfall profits" tax on oil companies.  Gas prices, you see, are on the way up.  Americans love to whine about high gas prices.  Americans also don't know squat about oil company profits and profit margins, nor could most Americans write a cohesive paragraph on the role of supply and demand in setting prices in the marketplace.  When oil companies post their huge profit figures the leftist media is eager to tell the world.  Tell me, when is the last time you read a story about oil company profits that contained any reference to profit margin?  Yeah .. you're right.  Virtually never.

So ... ripe ground for Democrat demagogues.  Slamming the very free enterprise system that brought us our incredible standard of living in this country is no problem for a Democrat who wants to exploit the economic stupidity of the American people.

Claire McCaskill is a Democrat senator from Missouri.  Yesterday she was sounding like a high school drop out.  To paraphrase this brilliant Democrat:  "Here's what I don't get!  Gas prices go up, and profits go up!  I don't get it!"  Yeah, Claire, I'm sure you don't.

Now .. .did Senator McCaskill mean profits or profit margins go up?  Ask her that question and wait for the big "huh?"  Look, Claire.  Let me try to explain this to you.  The reason gas prices are going up is because the demand for gas is going up and the supply is not rising to meet the demand.  When the demand goes up you sell more gas.  With me so far? Ok .... concentrate here for a moment.  The oil companies make a certain amount of profit on the sale of every gallon of gas.  Right now that figure is around seven cents.  If the demand goes up you sell more gas.  If you sell more gas you make that seven cents per gallon on the additional gallons you sell because of the increased demand.  This means your profit goes up.  See how hard that was!   Now ... I don't want to fry your brain with too much information here, but even though the profits may be going up with the increased demand, that doesn't mean the profit margins are going up.

I'd better stop here.  We don't want to give the brilliant Claire McCaskill too much to think about right now.  Her mind is on getting back to Missouri for the weekend so that she can tell all her friends at her town hall meetings about her plans to bring these nasty oil companies under control.

Last night's Democrat "debate?"  Here's an interesting link for you .... It's called the HillarySpot.  Here's you'll find a transcript of "liveblogging" the Democrat debate.

Here's Thursday's Best of the Web Today!

The New York Times reports on George Tenet's new book.  You can almost taste the state of joy as the media gets yet another reason to attack the Bush Administration.  Remember .... election coming up, and the very people who published this story are pledged to anything they can to make sure a Democrat (preferably Hillary Rodham) goes to the White House.

The prime minister of Australia has it right.  John Howard says that the vote of the Democrats to set a date certain for surrender in Iraq will bring comfort to Al Qaeda Islamic insurgents.  Howard uses the words "comfort and encouragement."  How close is that to "aid and comfort?"  The words "enormous victory for terrorism" also appears in his statements.  Gotta love those Democrats.

Talk radio is under real scrutiny right now. Michelle Malkin is also tracking the liberals' attempts to reinstate the Fairness Doctrine.

New York "gets tough" on its housing policy...and if by "get tough" you mean that they want people to offer incentives for people to get a job. There's a concept, working hard and earning something rather than expecting the government to hand it to you.  By the way, the same thing is happening in Atlanta .. and the protestors, egged on by a Marxist website, are out there shouting "No justice, no peace!"  How about getting some taxpayers out there chanting "No work, no freeloading."

If Bush doesn't want Congress' timetable, is there any sort of natural timetable for Iraq?

Like many of us, David Limbaugh is getting a little weary of this "Bush lied" nonsense.  Remember, in order for a statement to be a lie you have to know it to be untrue at the time you make it.  Democrats and their media sycophants have never been able to make this case.  Limbaugh writes about "Lies" and Lies.

Good talk radio fodder here:  Ten differences between conservatives and liberals.

Victor Davis Hanson asks if the war on terror is over.  What he is really asking is whether or not we have lost our will to fight these Islamic killers.  Judge for yourself.  I think the answer is "yes."

National Review's Rich Lowry on Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid, "The Iraq War is lost."  Lowery now wants Reid to be honest and tell the American people that Democrat  policies in Iraq are predicated on defeat.

Krauthammer on Boris Yeltsin, RIP.  He calls him "Boris the Liberator, the man who brought down the Soviet Union from the inside.

The Swedish politicians would now like to tell us about "ethical limits" for television adds. Oh goody, or should I say Goldie!  Have any of you heard about "comfort shopping?  Well, evidently shopping can be a bit of a social wrong in Sweden.

How sweet. One of my favorite phrases, "give back," meets one of my favorite shows, "American Idol." And the way to celebrate giving back? No one gets kicked off the show. Isn't that so fair? Because we all know that competition breeds people who are unwilling to help their communities...or so the Liberals would like you to think.

More of your tax dollars at work. Teens are getting surgery to trim their tubby bellies, and curb the related risks of obesity. I guess just staying away from the junk food isn't an option.  When are we going to learn that the taxpayers are paying for this stuff?

Sleeping with someone on a first date can increase chances of a long-term relationship, a biologist claims.

Looks like we have another female teacher in Florida caught having sex with an underage male student. She's not bad, but Debra LaFave still wins the "hottest student molesting teacher" contest.

Are you really the baby daddy? A million or more American men aren't and have no idea.
