HOME BASE

Royal and I arrived back in Atlanta at around 10:30 last night after a very successful book signing at the North Post PX at Ft. Bragg. So ... that's it, folks! No more scheduled book signings. I have many people to thank, and I'm going to give that a shot on Monday's Nuze ... but topping the list are the thousands of people who showed up at about 30 signings. I am truly honored that so many of you took so much time out of your schedule to come by, get a book signed, say a few words and take a look at the strange man on the radio.

At each one of the stops I made I signed about 100 or so extra books. If you would still like an autographed copy you should check with these stores to see if they have any on hand.

Last night at Ft. Bragg something happened that I won't soon forget. One of our soldiers who lost a leg in Iraq came by to get a book signed ... and his leg. He took his prosthetic leg off and asked me to sign it. No ... I wasn't the first. It looked like several country music stars and a few sports teams. This man had a beautiful attitude -- but we've seen that not only at Ft. Bragg but around the country at these signings. Time after time soldiers have come by to tell us that they are proud of their service, proud of what they have accomplished in Iraq and Afghanistan, and many are anxious to return and finish the job. These men and women are so much more worthy of our admiration than the surrendernicks .. the peace-at-any price liberals and Democrats who have no appreciation of the accomplishments made by or armed forces overseas.

Finishing up at Ft. Bragg, the home of the 82nd Airborne, and our Special Forces, was just perfect. Thanks to all of you and your families for the sacrifices you have made for the rest of us. Thank God you're there.

Book Tour Losses: I've taken inventory. On the road since January 19th ... and only managed to lose my Palm Tungsten and one electric razor. Not bad! Time to go shopping, I guess.

Most Unusual Encounter: Happened last night, as a matter of fact, at Ft. Bragg. A woman came up with a picture of the 6th grade class of Havelock (Cherry Point, North Carolina) Elementary school --- 1956! There she was in the second row .. and there I was in the first! Sure would like to have a copy of that picture.

Books Signed: As best I can estimate it, I've signed about 12,000 books. At 48 cents each .... hey! It adds up!

SADDAM HUSSEIN AND AL-QAEDA

Do you think Saddam Hussein had ties to Al Qaeda?
Yes
No
Dick Cheney is stirring the pot by once again bringing back up Saddam Hussein's ties to Al-Qaeda. And despite the Democrats' and the media's best efforts to sweep it under the rug, Saddam did have ties to Al-Qaeda. Nothing makes a leftist's blood boil more than the suggestion that Saddam had anything to do with Al-Qaeda. To bring it up means he might have had something to do with 9/11, which would provide more justification for the war in Iraq. That would benefit George W. Bush and well...we just can't have that.

In a radio interview yesterday, Cheney said this about the late Abu Musab Al-Zarqawi: "He took up residence there before we ever launched into Iraq, organized the Al-Qaeda operations inside Iraq before we even arrived on the scene and then, of course, led the charge for Iraq until we killed him last June. As I say, they were present before we invaded Iraq." He's 100% correct. But bedwetters in the media are having none of this...it simply cannot stand that there were terrorists in Iraq before we got there.

The press is saying that the Pentagon has released information that says the Hussein regime was not actively working with Al-Qaeda. That's not what Cheney said....and they know it. But it doesn't matter....the revising of history goes on. By the way, did you know we found weapons of mass destruction in Iraq?

GERALDO AND O'REILLY

Hope you saw it .... I've only seen clips. [video] Geraldo Rivera appeared on O'Reilly last night to argue about that criminal alien who killed two teenaged girls in Virginia Beach last week. O'Reilly is ticked off that this criminal alien had been arrested at least five times before and had not been sent back to Mexico. Geraldo was giving us this "we lured them here" nonsense and seemed completely unwilling to hold the judges and politicians responsible for doing nothing about this repeat illegal alien offender. Both Geraldo and O'Reilly were jabbing their fingers at each other. Geraldo wouldn't stop talking long enough to let O'Reilly make his point, and O'Reilly responded with screams of outrage.

What an episode!

O'Reilly wins on points and loses on the issue of control. Hey .. I've been there. The one and only time I appeared on O'Reilly he called me a "vicious son-of-a-bitch." And no, it wasn't off the air!

O'Reilly is a hothead. Geraldo doesn't want to enforce our immigration laws. Simple as that.

HILLARY CLINTON AND CORRUPTION

A new poll shows that almost 50% of Americans are concerned about high levels of corruption should Hillary Clinton be elected president. Gee...I have no idea why. Could it be because her husband's administration was certainly one of the most corrupt in history? Could it be because the people know that Hillary is a proven liar? Perhaps the general public isn't so ignorant after all. Maybe there's still hope for society.

The fact is 1 in 5 Democratic voters believe Hillary Clinton is already corrupt. That's not good news for The Hildabeast who is now fighting some real opposition in her bid to become the 2008 Democratic nominee. So why all the worries about corruption? Well, let's run down the list. How about the missing Rose Law Firm records that magically reappeared in Hillary Clinton's possession after she swore under oath that she didn't have them. Then there's Bill Clinton's troubles...and there's not enough room here to list all of those. Casa Grande. Madison Guarantee. What a resume!

You had the travel office firings and the secret health care task force. Oh, and how about the firing of all 93 U.S. Attorneys under the Clinton Administration? Since the Democrats are crucifying Alberto Gonzales for firing just 8, maybe they could ask Hillary Clinton why her husband canned them all?

Oh..and the Clinton administration had the highest number of cabinet officials under investigation in history. The Clintons corrupt? You bet.

THAT CRUISE SHIP SANK?

Yesterday they were saying that those watertight doors on the ship were closed and there was no further danger. This morning I read that the ship is now at the bottom of the Santorini volcanic caldera! Amazing! Oh .. by the way. I actually heard some cable news anchor suggest that the ship might actually have been damaged by volcanic activity. Excuse me, but that volcano blew its top 3,500 years ago. Where do they get these news anchors?

Just for grins and giggles ... here's your Santorini caldera web cam.

FROST DELAYS AT THE MASTERS

OK .. now I'm pissed. Now I'm on board. Now I'm with the rest of those who think that we need to do something ... and do something NOW ... about this global warming. When they have frost delays at the Masters we've just gone too far. Everybody, burn your cars and pump up the tires on those bicycles!

Nancy Pelosi is continuing her tour of the Middle East, this time stopping in Saudi Arabia. This after she visited Bashar Assad in Syria. No word yet if she is going to make the rounds on the rest of the Axis of Evil. The Washington Post lit her up in an editorial, wondering where she got her "message of peace" she gave Assad from Israel. Israel says there was no such message.

Republicans and even other Democrats are beginning to notice Nancy Pelosi's mistakes. The GOP is taking up a collection to bring her home...of course as a joke. But this isn't the first time she's done something that's not very bright...turns out there's a whole list of things.

Did Tony Blair write a letter of apology to Iran in order to secure the release of the 15 British soldiers? The Prime Minister's office says absolutely not, but some are wondering after Blair's comment that "new and interesting lines of communication" had been opened.

This should be quite the interesting debate. John Kerry and Newt Gingrich will debate global warming...and it will take place next Tuesday in a Senate office building. Turns out The Poodle knows The Speaker and it should make for quite the exchange.

Democrats couldn't wait to haul Alberto Gonzales up to The Hill and make him explain his actions in the firings of 8 U.S. Attorneys. But now the majority party is delaying his testimony until later in the month. Perhaps they've decided to move on from this non-controversy.

Here we go again: the North Carolina Senate is apologizing for slavery. So where does it end? Is there some limit to the apologies when it comes to the wrongs of history? Will we only go back 100, 150, 200 years? And what about reparations? Who gets paid?

Charles Krauthammer says Iran managed to pull off a total humiliation of Great Britain with their capture and release of the 15 British soldiers. They also made a mockery of the United Nations and the European Union.....what else is new.

Nancy Pelosi's trip abroad shows that when leaders in Congress get into office, they immediately start overreaching, believing they have power to do things they don't. Fred Barnes says Madame Speaker's trip to the Middle East is just the latest example.

David Limbaugh wants to know where the outrage is over Pelosi's trip to Syria. President Bush is still the commander in chief and people aren't saying enough about Pelosi's unauthorized trip to visit a state sponsor of terrorism.
