If there's anything the Democrat Party just loves to do that would be raising taxes ... but only on those people who are not likely to vote Democrat! If you've been paying any attention at all, you will know that the Democrats proposed a $400 billion tax increase last week. That's right ... all you have to do is give them enough votes in the Senate to filibuster (that would be 41) and they'll make sure that the tax cuts passed by the Republican congress six years ago disappear .. and if you give them a good majority in the Senate, the House and Hillary in the White House in 2008 they'll raise taxes even more!

The Democrat Party goal here is simple. They are working to shift the entire federal tax burden away from voters who are more likely to vote Democrat .. the middle and low income voters. Right now only 3.5% of personal income taxes are paid by the lowest 50% of income earners. But wait ... it gets worse. Over 80% of all personal income taxes are paid by the top 20% of income earners. So you can see that the Democrats don't have far to go before they have completely insulated their core voters from the responsibility of paying any income taxes at all.

Next will be Social Security. The Democrats have a plan right now -- though they aren't really talking all that much about it -- to exempt the first $15,000 of wages from Social Security payroll taxes. If your parents cared enough to keep you out of government schools you will know that in order to do this the Democrats will have to raise the Social Security earnings cap by more than $15,000 to cover the loss. This means, of course, that these Social Security taxes are merely shifted from the lowest to the highest income bracket.

Can you see where this is heading? Let me give you a little hint of how Democrat campaign advertising will sound once they've managed to shift the entire tax burden to the top 20 or 30% of income earners, and they have their little $15,000 payroll tax exemption in place. Every election season you will hear radio and TV ads for Democrats saying two things: (1) If you vote for Republicans they will make you pay income taxes; and, (2) if you vote for us we'll raise the Social Security payroll tax exemption by a few thousand dollars.

Now ... thanks to Republican malfeasance, Democrat free-spender Charlie Rangel is now running the House Ways and Means Committee. That's the committee that writes all new tax laws. Rangel is not what you would call an honest man. He won't even admit that the Democrats want to raise taxes. He says they're just "readjusting the tax rates."

Who do we have to thank for all of this? Well, ultimately it is the Republicans who take the blame. The Republicans in the Congress completely abandoned their principles and became the new party of big government and pork spending. Core Republican voters became disgusted and sat on their hands. Is anything likely to change? Well ... let me respond to that question with another one. Is there anything that the Republican Party is doing right now that causes you to want to lift one finger to help them? Name one initiative being undertaken by the Republican Party -- not just by some Republicans, but by the party -- that would make you go one foot out of your way to vote for them in 2008? You're right. There's nothing.

Do you know what BOHICA means? Google it. Then again, maybe you shouldn't.

LISTENING CAREFULLY

Here's a neat little rhetorical trick the Democrats have made part of their playbook. Perhaps you haven't noticed it ... but sooner or later it seeps into your subconscious and you've then been had. It's the phrase "everybody knows."

Examples:

  • Everybody knows Iraq didn't have any WMDs.
  • Everybody knows the rich don't pay their fair share in taxes.
  • Everybody knows that there's something really sinister about those eight U.S. Attorneys being fired.

The more times they use this "everybody knows" like the more people of limited intelligence, i.e., those who were educated by the government, will come to think that whatever it is that "everybody knows" is, in fact, true!

IS THE WEST JUST TRYING TO LOOK WEAK?

It seems that for every little shove the Islamic fascists and radical Muslims deliver to the western world, we respond by looking earnestly for yet another way we can show weakness and a willingness to capitulate. While the Iranians are parading 15 British sailors and Marines in front of the Arab media, we learn that the European Union has a nifty little rule in place designed to prevent angering Muslims.

The London Daily Telegraph has now revealed the existence of a classified handbook for EU diplomat types that encourages governments and the European media to avoid using phrases that might (gasp!) offend Muslims when referring to terrorism. The EU handbook suggests banning words like "jihad", "Islamic" or "fundamentalist."

Yup .. that's right. It is now officially improper in Europe to refer to an Islamic terrorist as an Islamic terrorist. Never mind the fact that virtually every terrorist operating in the world today is a Muslim ... and never mind that the wonderful, peaceful, serene, nonviolent, passive, tranquil, placid, laid-back, loving religion of Islam virtually relies on terrorism as it's chief foreign policy tool. We certainly don't want to offend these people now, do we? So the EU handbook on how to talk about terrorism without offending the people responsible for the terrorism tells us that we might want to give consideration to the phrase "terrorists who abusively invoke Islam."

Screw that.

Islam is a religion of hate and violence ... and so it shall remain until we see Muslims everywhere in the world openly and loudly standing up to these violent Islamic fascists and their apologists like the Council on American Islamic Relations. CAIR has never issued a blanket repudiation of the use of violence and terrorist tactics on the part of Islamic groups. I fully realize that there are Muslims everywhere who hate the violence and hatred brought to us by the jihadists as much as we do .... but until they are as loud in their condemnation of terrorism as the jihadists are in their threats to the West ... Islam will be known by the actions of the radicals, not of the peaceful.

In the meantime, look around for an example of the Western world standing up to the Islamic goons. The City of Minneapolis suggests a light signal system on its taxis to warn customers of which Muslim cab drivers will transport passengers carrying alcohol, and which will not. Target stores jumps through its own rear end to find a way to accommodate Muslim cashiers at its stores who refuse to ring up items containing pork. A British school changes the name of the "Three Little Pigs" to the "Three Little Puppies." Today's Daily Mail from London reports on a study by the Department for Education and Skills. British teachers, it seems, are not teaching the Holocaust in British schools. Some teachers are afraid that Muslim pupils might react badly in class.

Everywhere you look you see capitulation. From supermarket check-out counters to the halls of the U.S. Congress. This capitulation is seen by Islamic fascists as nothing less than signs of weakness. It emboldens them, and weakens us. You do the math. Where does this lead?

HILLARY EXPANDS HER MONEY CLIP

If you thought Barack Obama and John Edwards' campaigns were going to make a dent in The Hildabeast's quest for the White House, you may want to think again. Hillary Clinton has set a first quarter fundraising record of $26 million....which will buy a lot of commercials. And in politics, money is everything. Just ask John McCain, who watched Texas Governor George W. Bush walk to the nomination in 2000 because he had infinitely more cash.

And The Hildabeast is just getting started. We've got a year until the primaries for her to raise tens of millions more. She's got her husband out there passing the hat as well. The most dangerous power-hungry politician in America has millions in the bank left over from her Senate campaign last year. The money totals, more than anything, will decide who stays in the race and who bows out. The media may be infatuated with Barack Obama...but it's Hillary who's got the bucks.

This pretty much cements her front-runner status. Although anything can happen...there's plenty of controversies that could crop up. But nothing several million dollars in TV commercials can't cure.

SO NOW THEY'RE "DETAINEES"

Iran is announcing that all 15 British hostages have "confessed" to intruding into their waters. Yeah ... we're buying that.

Notice how the media is referring to the hostages as "detainees." The world merely serves to give Iran a pass on their actions. So what if Iran is violating the Geneva Convention by parading the hostages on TV.[video] No wonder Iran kidnapped the soldiers...they knew the Euro-weasels would be weak and would continue to appease the Islamofascists. And that's exactly what is happening.

Make no mistake, the only reason Iran took these soldiers hostage is because they knew nothing bad would happen and they would be able to use them to garner publicity, divert attention from the United Nations and their nuclear program, and make the West look weak. They knew Britain would give up without a fight and that there would be no consequences and that is exactly what has happened. The policy of appeasement and coddling Islamofascism in Europe is now playing out in Iran. Will the United States join the rest of the world in making that mistake?

MADAME SPEAKER COURTS THE ENEMY

Another Democrat is going to Syria to preach the message of Islamic appeasement. Against the advice of the Bush Administration, Nancy Pelosi is going to visit Damascus and ask Syrian President Bashar Assad to stop supporting terrorism. Yeah...that works. Shall we count the Democrats that have done just that? The most recent example was The Poodle...who was seen on TV meeting with Assad some time back.

Let's just look at what Syria has done to deserve a visit from the woman who is second in line to the presidency of the United States. Syria is a state sponsor of terrorism. They support the insurgency in Iraq, with both troops, arms and cash. Former members of the Saddam Hussein regime are being harbored by Syria. Syria is probably hiding Saddam Hussein's weapons of mass destruction. And there's Nancy Pelosi, meeting with Bashar Assad.

But this is nothing new....anti-American Democrats have always courted the enemy. And it never works. Perhaps there is a hidden tuna industry in Damascus we don't know about...and Nancy Pelosi is there on behalf of companies in her district.

As I heard you utter the silly phrase, "wealth envy," it occurred to me that I now understand the malady from which you suffer: BRAIN ENVY.
And, since you deigned to call Maxine Waters an idiot twice, let me return the compliment. Boortz is an idiot. Boortz is an idiot. C.W.
Message:
Mr. Boortz:
I am a 9th grade honors student in Seattle Wa. I have not had the privilege of listening to your talk show, but when I saw the title of your book, I had to have it. I am about half way through your book Somebody's Gotta Say It, and I wanted to thank you for finally saying something about government schools. I totally agree with you about the threat that today's education poses to my generation. A few years ago, my friend (who was in 8th grade at the time) was telling me about a letter he had to write to our Governor at the time, Gary Locke. However, he didn't know who Gary Locke was, and so he called him, in the letter, gym locker. He thought that was the funniest thing, so I said to him, "was his name Gary Locke?" "Yea!" my friend replied, "That's the governor." My friend then informed me that he didn't know what a governor was. I also am tired of teachers complaining about how little they get paid. true, some teachers deserve more than they get, but my experience with teachers is that they don't even teach: all they do is come into the classroom, write assignments/book reading on the board, and supervise. A good percentage of teachers just sit down, read the newspaper or play computer games, and make sure we kids don't kill each other.
some things that haven't been in our curriculum for the last 9 years:
1. I didn't know what an attorney general was, (or who ours is) until this week when all the talk came out about Gonzales.
2. I haven't been taught who is in line after the vice president until I read your book.
3. We only spent about one week on U.S. rights and laws in 7th grade.
and that's not even a fraction of it. The bottom line is this; government schools teach us so much irrelevant stuff, and get it to minute detail on the stupidest things. But it's true, somebody does have to say it, and I sincerely thank you Mr. Boortz for being the one who says it.

READING ASSIGNMENTS

Neal has a $10,000 FairTax Refund for a lucky Atlanta listener!
Forty daily prizes of $1,000 to be "refunded" from Mr. FairTax himself
Atlanta folks, you need to ditch work Tuesday morning and come to the FairTax Rally at Underground Atlanta. And everyone needs to listen to the show tomorrow. We'll have Congressman Linder and Senator Chambliss on the show to discuss the FairTax legislation.

Former Speaker of the House Newt Gingrich is making news. Over the weekend he called bilingual education the language of living in the ghetto. He also said voting ballots should not be in any language except English. The uproar is ongoing, particularly from the Hispanderers.

According to reports in the Russian media, the United States will be ready to strike Iran on Good Friday, April 6th. The targets: Iran's nuclear facilities. So will this really happen? Probably not....but it's wishful thinking, and long past overdue.

A new piece of art has gone on display in Chicago at the School of the Art Institute. It portrays Barack Obama as Jesus Christ. As you might expect, this is very controversial. But it's also accurate. The only thing missing are members of the media bowing down and kissing his feet.

CNN reporter Michael Ware is once again showing his partisan, slanted colors.
At a press conference in Baghdad where Senators Lindsey Graham and John McCain were speaking after a trip to Baghdad, Ware actually began heckling McCain. Nice to know the media is so impartial.

Henry Kissinger says a military victory is not possible in Iraq and that it's hard to negotiate a peace because it's hard to know who's in charge of the insurgency. Kissinger says it will take other countries negotiating with the Sunnis and the Shiites to get us out of there. He also said the partisan bickering at home needs to stop. Good luck on that one.

How is the 2008 presidential campaign going to play out? Michael Barone offers three scenarios, all based in history. He says not much should be made of the fact that Democrats are more popular right now....that hasn't mattered so much in the past. Interesting piece.

Will former Tennessee Senator and 'Law And Order' prosecutor Fred Thompson run for the White House? And if he does, will he have a serious agenda and a real plan for winning? Robert Novak thinks so...he's calling Thompson the real deal.

It's back....the Equal Rights Amendment from the 1970's, only this time it's being called the "Women's Equality Amendment." George Will says we've gone back and time, and the only thing missing are the bell bottoms and the love beads.

Debra Saunders takes exception to some of the plot points on Fox's '24,' but the biggest example is the fact that Jack Bauer gets around Los Angeles without ever being stuck in traffic. He must have some special alternate route nobody knows about.

Here's a nice story about your taxpayer money at work. Thousands are suspected of Katrina fraud. Jail 'em all.
