TODAY'S THE DAY!

Well .. the day is finally here. "Somebody's Gotta Say It" hits the book stores today ... and once again we're broadcasting from New York City to launch the book.

We had a great hour on Sean Hannity's radio show yesterday, followed by a fun segment on Hannity & Colmes. This morning I made an appearance on Fox & Friends (really nice folks there!) and tonight we'll be in Atlanta for our premiere book signing at Borders in Buckhead. The rest of this week's book signing schedule is below.

As of late last night we were No. 3 on Amazon.com. The blogs are also alive with recriminations and, believe it or not, some kind words about the book! Thus far it looks like my feelings on teacher's unions are really lighting a fire under some libs out there. Good! That's just what I was looking for.

If you want to see just how exercised some of the libs out there can get over my book and the things I have to say, just click here for a reaction to last night's appearance on Hannity & Colmes. When I yank the chains at the folks at NewsHounds then I know I'm doing something right. I would guess that Newshound Ellen has helped me sell well over 1000 books. So .. big shout-out to Ellen!

There's also a comment thread on Fark.com about me and the book! You know, it's a good thing that I have such a thick skin. You hate mail writers could learn a thing or two here.

Now ... here are the links for you to order your copy of Somebody's Gotta Say It if you can't get to a bookstore today: amazon.com | barnesandnoble.com I'm really looking forward to meeting many of you at my book signing events all the way from Naples, Florida to Las Vegas to Hyannis, Mass. This is going to be a fun few weeks ... and thanks for giving me a shot (long shot though it is) at knocking Barack out of the number one spot on the bestseller's list. At least we'll give him a good run for his money.

BOOK SIGNINGS?

Ok ... here's the schedule for the rest of the week:

Tuesday: Atlanta. Borders in Buckhead at 3637 Peachtree Road. We start signing books at 7:00 and will stay there as long as there are books to sign.

Friday: Dayton, Ohio. Book signings in Dayton are awesome. You folks sure read a lot of books up there. We'll be at Books & Company at The Green, 4453 Walnut Street. Signing starts at 6:00 p.m. .... Looks like I'm going straight there from the airport!

Next week we'll be in Houston, Dallas, Austin, College Station, Las Vegas and Grand Junction, Colorado --- and we're going to enjoy every last minute of it! View the complete book signing schedule.

2008 CANDIDATES MAKING THE ROUNDS

The 2008 presidential candidates have fanned out across the country...stumping for votes almost 2 years before one of them will be sworn in as president of the United States. John McCain is railing against Donald Rumsfeld and Hillary Clinton is calling for the removal of the Confederate Flag in South Carolina. Pressing issues that affect all of our lives, no doubt.

McCain's latest cause is a nice little way for him to play both sides of the fence over the war in Iraq. The Arizona senator is on record supporting the war and calling for more troops to win it. In fact, he thinks President Bush's troop surge is not enough. That's not a very popular position, so he tries to pander to the anti-war crowd by blaming somebody who is no longer in government and therefore not really in a position to defend themselves. That target is Donald Rumsfeld. How convenient.

And then there is The Hildabeast, who traveled to South Carolina to remind them that they should remove the Confederate flag from their city. Is that really the big campaign issue facing our country? Of course, there's zero chance any Democrat is going to carry the state...but there will be a primary, so The Hildabeast felt compelled to pay a visit. Besides ... as you probably know, Hillary has bought her very own black Senator from South Carolina. More about that on the show today.

But...this is what we get when campaigns start too early. What a fun ride the next 20 months is going to be.

IRAN CLOSE TO ENRICHING URANIUM

According to the United Nations, Iran is close to enriching uranium. According to the Democrats, we should do absolutely nothing about it. Sanctions, anyone? Yeah..that will help. How long before an American city goes up in a mushroom cloud? Will that be enough proof for Nancy Pelosi? Probably not.

Just imagine the scene....you wake up one day, and God forbid, there it is on the television set. A nuclear bomb has gone off in a major American city. It will be like something out of a scene from Fox's TV show '24.' It's determined that the bomb's source is Iran...sold to an Al-Qaeda terrorist by Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad. What now?

In almost every other circumstance anyone can think of, this would mean war. But would the administration pull the trigger? Are we too weary from the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan to continue to fight the good fight? Are we going to stand idly by and watch Iran enrich uranium and build nuclear weapons? The answer to that one is yes.

Oh..and Iran is offering to stop enriching uranium...as long as everybody else does. Yeah ... let's trust them on this one.

ANOTHER RESCUE ON MOUNT HOOD

Anybody else getting tired of these endless stories about mountain climbers needing to be rescued? If somebody chooses to climb Mount Hood in the middle of winter, knowing the risks and knowing how treacherous the conditions will be, why should the public be expected to pay to save their bacon? But hey, it gives the cable news networks something to talk about.

I know...it's a bit insensitive. How on Earth could we possibly deny somebody rescue even when they have put themselves in their position out of their own stupidity? We won't...but it's worth making note of. Just how many times are we going to hear about these people that decide, for whatever reason, that they will scale Mount Hood in the middle of winter? Then we hear that they are lost...and contact has been lost. Do they not bear some responsibility for their situation? Absolutely they do.

Looks like these folks survived because they had a transmitter and a good dog. Now we should send them the bill for the entire cost of the rescue. If necessary they should spend the rest of their lives having their wages garnished to pay back the taxpayers for the cost of their rescue. Then maybe in the future, people will think twice about heading up a mountain in the middle of a snowstorm. Hey..somebody's gotta say it.

REDNECK SCRAP BOOK

Remember William "Cold Cash" Jefferson, the Louisiana congressman that was caught with $90,000 cash in his freezer?  Well, despite his current legal troubles, he has been awarded a seat on the Homeland Security Committee.  I feel safer already.

Attorneys for convicted Border Patrol agent Ignacio Ramos are calling for a mistrial...because the Feds held out on sharing a document that could've proved their client's innocence.  Yet for some reason, the government continues to want these law enforcement officers to stay in prison.

So what if we were to attack Iran?  Turns out there are such plans in existence....of course, there are probably plans in existence to attack Canada.  At any rate, the BBC is reporting on what our targets might be, should we decide to clean house in Tehran.

Remember that South Carolina politician that decided to back Hillary Clinton after she ponied up $10,000 a month for a consulting contract?  The Hildabeast herself is denying that she bought off the State Senator.

What senator has traveled the most...and cost taxpayers the most money in the process?  None other than the junior senator from Illinois, Barack Obama himself.  This may be an issue in the upcoming presidential campaign....or not.  The media may not be concerned at all.

Ed Koch, Democrat and the other former mayor of New York,
says one of the biggest problems to our national security is the denial people have that there is no threat at all.  Specifically, he points to Iran.  One of the few voices on the Left that understands terrorism.

Pat Buchanan, never a supporter of the war in Iraq, calls out the Democrats for being unwilling to cut off funding for the troop surge.  Taking the administration to task, Buchanan says the increase in troops is just so we can try one more time before giving up.

Thomas Sowell points out that government, which is always saying it needs more money to help the poor, seems to be increasingly funding municipal golf courses.  What are we doing paying for the sporting habits of the rich?  That's a good question.

Hillary Clinton's refusal to apologize for her vote authorizing the war in Iraq is going to cost her big-time.  So says Dick Morris, who tells us it's classic Hillary...and it reflects her bad judgment and her stubbornness.  I guess he would know...having seen the Clintons up close.

Democrats aren't supporting the troop surge in Iraq...which should come as no surprise.  But David Limbaugh reminds us that a disturbing number of Republicans are also trying to undermine the administration and the war in Iraq.
