TODAY ON THE SHOW
For those of you who get the Information Overload
Hour. We'll do the first segment as usual with our correspondent in
Washington, Jamie Dupree. The for the remainder of the IO Hour I'll engage
in a friendly debate with Clark Howard on the issue of the minimum wage. I
just can't believe that he supports that nonsense.
Can you believe this
mess in Boston
yesterday? An ad campaign for the Cartoon Network durned near shuts down
the entire city. Who is at fault here? Who should pay the tab?
OK .. so Joe Biden, who has no chance in hell of
ever becoming president,
says that Barack Obama is "clean" and
"articulate." Are you upset by what he said, or are you rather
enjoying this? At least he didn't use the words "ghetto slut."
Chief cheese-eating surrender monkey
Jacques
Chirac of France sees no big danger in Iran having a nuclear weapon. What
the hell! He knows that if Iran were to actually use one of those things
he can always count on the USA to deal with them. Anyone care to discuss
whether or not anyone should pay serious attention to France any more?
After all, the Muslim conquest of France is pretty much a fait accompli.
Chuckie Schumer ... leftist Dem ... is
signaling
a class warfare theme for the 2008 elections. He says "income insecurity,"
whatever that is, will be the big issue. We're going to try to
figure out just what "income insecurity" is and show you the lie
behind this idea that the gap between the rich and the poor is getting
wider. But hey ... Bush is getting into the act too.

BIDEN OPENS
MOUTH, INSERTS FOOT
Joe Biden has done it again...open mouth, insert foot. After saying all
the 7-11's in Delaware were run by people from India, Biden is back for more
political incorrectness. He has now called Barack Obama a
"clean" black person. What's that supposed to mean? Al
Sharpton is a bit peeved....he says he takes a bath every day. I
personally believe that Sharpton washes hair at least weekly! So what
exactly did Biden mean by all of this?
This is exactly what he said, according to an interview with the New York
Observer: "I mean, you got the first mainstream African-American who
is articulate and bright and clean and a nice-looking guy. I mean, that's
a storybook, man." Now, Biden says what he meant was Obama was a
clean-cut guy...you know, on the straight and narrow. He also says the New
York Observer took it out of context. Who cares....the real story here is
the hysterical overreaction by the offended race warlords.
They think since Biden thinks Obama is clean-cut, perhaps he meant other black
candidates for president in the past were not. Who would he be talking
about? Jesse Jackson? Al Sharpton? The best quote in all of
this was from Sharpton, who issued a statement yesterday, said he told Biden
when he called to apologize: "I told him I take a bath every day."
The Sloganmaster said he was similarly confused: "I don't know whether
it was an attempt to diminish what I had done in '88, or to say Barack is all
style and no substance." Diminish what Jackson did in 88? Someone
refresh my memory? What has Jackson ever really done in any presidential
election? His forte is blackmailing corporations ... a world-class expert.
This is all just too much fun. And the more Biden apologizes, the deeper
it gets. And they're all Democrats...does it get any better than this?
BUSH CHANNELING DEMOCRATS AGAIN
President Bush is sounding more and more like a liberal Democrat these days.
He's out preaching about income inequality and the growing gap between the
rich and the poor. And Bush is supposed to be a conservative?
Between No Child Left Behind, expanding Medicare, raising the minimum wage and
his guest worker program....and now this...one is wondering just how Bush is a
Republican anymore.
There are those who would (correctly?) say that
Bush never really was a conservative. Other than his determination to
defend our country from Islamic radicals and his economy-boosting tax cuts...
what real conservative credentials does he have?
He also railed against CEO pay, saying companies should pay attention to the
executive compensation packages they approve. Perhaps somebody should
remind the president that when it comes to executive salaries, the free market
is at work. Those packages are approved by corporate boards who represent
investors...none of whom have a gun put to their head when they put their money
into the company. Government should have no say about it.
And this nonsense about the widening gap between the rich and the poor...it was
a pant load when Democrats were pushing it in the last presidential election and
it is now with Bush talking about it. With very rare exception, people are
where they are in their lives economically as a direct result of the decisions
they have made up to that point. People are poor because they choose to be
poor. People who are rich are that way because they work hard, achieve and
are successful.
And to think this man claims to admire Ronald Reagan. He may admire
Reagan, but he's starting to sound like Jimmy Carter.
READING ASSIGNMENTS
Who
is the new "ugly American?" Victor Davis Hansen writes that
it is none other than The Poodle, the beloved John Kerry, political loser.
John Leo writes that the college
speech police threaten the liberty of us all.
Now here's some excellent news. George Will
writes that the
tide is turning on the issue of school choice. Are we about to have a
breakthrough on de-fanging the teacher's unions?
This whole minimum wage debate has our
power-hungry political class really feeling its oats. Now they may want to
target executive salaries. Maximum
wage, anyone? What a wonderful class warfare tool this is!
Well, now we know why Al Franken quit Air America.
He's going to be running for Senate...from Minnesota. He plans to challenge
Republican incumbent Norm Coleman. This should be fun. You know, Al...when
you're running for political office, they look at your personal finances. Any
loans from the Boys Club we should know about?
Looks like we have a friend in the prime minister's office in Canada when it
comes to this global warming nonsense. He has called the Kyoto Protocol a
"socialist scheme" designed to suck money out of rich countries. He also called
it a job-killing economy destroyer. At least we're not the only ones.
High drama at the Congressional Hispanic Caucus:
California Congresswoman Loretta Sanchez has resigned from the group because she
says its chairman called her a whore. Chairman Joe Baca is calling the
statements "baseless." Does it really get any better than this?
George Will says the public school lobby lives in fear of the idea of school
choice. But he says the tide is turning...the school choice movement is picking
up steam now like never before. I'm sure the failing public schools out there
have something to do with that.
Victor Davis Hanson is calling out John Kerry for his statements abroad
criticizing the United States. In fact, Hanson notes that this is not the first
time (and probably not the last time) that The Poodle is going to slander his
country while abroad.
Ann Coulter is taking on Special Prosecutor Patrick Fitzgerald in the Scooter
Libby case, saying if Libby were a Democrat, things would be a lot
different. She notes that the same people who are saying Libby deserves prison
are the same people who were defending Bill Clinton during Monicagate.
Pollster Frank Luntz is warning Republicans that they are totally out of touch
with the American people....and headed to the political wilderness.
Robert Novak says Luntz is like Cassandra of Ancient Troy with his
prophecies of doom.
So what exactly was meant by that question at a Hillary campaign event in Iowa
when somebody asked how she would handle "evil and bad men?"
Jonah Goldberg says they may have been talking about Bill Clinton....but
Hillary isn't so sure. But she laughed anyway.
It used to be that the conservative right were the ones that censored people.
That was a long time ago...and now,
according to John Leo, all of the censorship is coming from the left. All
you need to do is take a look at the politically correct speech codes on college
campuses.
Cal Thomas praises Bill Clinton's gift of persuasion and says he would make a
great used car salesman. His wife, on the other hand, is not nearly as good at
convincing people.
Thomas also believes Hillary won't become president of the United States.
