THE PARTY OF COMPASSION, THE PARTY OF DIVERSITY

There is a particular strain of liberal viciousness that is reserved for one particular type of individual, that being any black American who runs for political office as a Republican.  If there is "treason" to a liberal, this would be it.  No holds are barred, no language is forbidden, when demonizing a black person who has strayed from the Democrat leftist straight-and-narrow.

As you may (or should) know, there's quite a race going on in Maryland for the Senate seat being vacated by Democrat Paul Sarbanes.  Maryland's Republican Lt. Governor Michael Steele is running for the seat, as is Congressman Ben Cardin.  Steele is black.  This hasn't made Democrats happy.  This means he's as close to a traitor as one can get in the mind of a leftist.

So along comes Maryland Democrat Congressman, and House Minority Whip Steny Hoyer.  Hoyer is campaigning for Cardin, and since Cardin's opponent is a black Republican, all bets are off.  Hoyer tells a campaign audience .. a largely black campaign audience .. that Michael Steel "slavishly" supports the Republican Party.  This is pretty much par for the course for Hoyer. Four years ago he referred to Steele as a "token."  Then we got one of those "out of context" excuses from Hoyer.  This time we're getting an apology.  Hoyer says "I should not have used those words."  Yeah, right.  But he did -- and the damage was done.  A black campaign audience heard that the Republican candidate for Senate was acting pretty much like a slave .. and those words have grave impact in the black voting community.

If Steele is a slave, he is a runaway.  He has committed the unpardonable sin .. .he has fled the Democrat plantation.  Now he must be punished.  Today's runaways are punished with scorn and words like "Uncle Tom," "Oreo" and others.  This from the party that tells us how much it appreciates diversity.  Diversity of color?  Maybe.  Diversity of thought?  Not on your life.

THESE PEOPLE DON'T LIKE ME!

Web Guy, the poor sap who screens email to the show, is telling me that as the election approaches the level of venom in emails is increasing.  I asked him for a few examples ... and here you go!

Neal,

I have observed your most recent adoption of an intenable constant pattern of berating ISLAM and all things ISLAMIC. It is my opinion that during your recnt low brow white house visit, BOY GEORGE and his HANDLERS commanded you to broadcast these not so subtle slights against ISLAM as a form of instilling FEAR in the mindless SHEEPLES.

Do you have plans to highlight and/or review the literary efforts of a LIBERAL or MODERATE writer on your program? I am certain that this will never happen since you are simply a fool and tool of the "Gay Ole Party".

Gee, Mr. Boortz,

You should do a little research and you will find that much of your rhetoric closely follows a template initially laid down by Goering and Eichmann, and company. Really, read up, you should be proud of yourself, of course many men of my parents generation were trained to shoot people like you.....not the case anymore.....enjoy yourelf... if we manage to save our constitution and society from men of your ilk we have a future.....if not, well at least under fascism the trains ran on time

Don't you just love it when an election nears?

JOHN MCCAIN THREATENS SUICIDE

Do you think Neal should bow to pressure and support Republicans 100% no matter what?
No man, stay true to yourself!
Absolutely, the stakes are too high!
Eh, who cares?
Well, not really.  Arizona Senator and 2008 presidential candidate John McCain was speaking to a crowd in Iowa yesterday and was asked the prospect of a Democratic takeover of Congress.  "I think I'd just commit suicide.  I don't want to face that eventuality because I don't think it's going to happen."  Of course, he was kidding.

No one really knows what will happen on November 7th.  The polls predict one thing....but the situation could change.  The Republicans could hold onto power by one seat.  They could be blown out by 50 seats.  Democrats could pick up 20 seats, as Bob Novak is predicting.  Dick Morris says it's all over...and all Republicans can do is rearrange deck chairs on the Titanic.

But as for McCain, just what exactly does he think would be so different if Democrats took over the Senate?  Aside from the investigations and subpoenas of the administration, that is.  Republicans in the Senate have been unable to get anything done on illegal immigration, building a meaningful border fence, any real tax reform...Social Security reform...nothing.

Switching from a do-nothing Republican Senate to a do-nothing Democratic Senate isn't going to really matter all that much.  Perhaps that's why Republicans aren't all that excited about voting.

Well ... maybe that's not exactly true.  OK .. .there's one thing.  A Democrat victory in either the House or the Senate would be wildly celebrated in the palaces of the mullahs and Osama's cave.  A Democrat victory is a sign of American weakness .. and eventual American surrender.  If you want a reason NOT to vote for Democrats ... there you are.

BUSH SAYS MAYBE IRAQ LIKE VIETNAM

In an interview with ABC and George Stephanopoulos, President Bush was asked whether or not a column in the New York Times comparing the current situation in Iraq with the Tet Offensive in Vietnam in 1968 was accurate.  Bush responded that the writer could be right, because of the increased violence and the fact that we're heading into an election.

"Bush Accepts Iraq-Vietnam Comparison" screamed the headline!  Now Bush has admitted Iraq is like Vietnam.  We're surely doomed for good.

Oh come on now.  Isn't that a bit of a stretch?  Bush agreed to a comparison of  the Tet Offensive to the insurgency, that's where the comparison ends.  By the way, did you know that the Tet Offensive was successful and the United States won?  It was only after the anti-war mainstream media stepped in was it called a defeat.  Small detail.

At any rate, Iraq is nothing like Vietnam.  Never was, never will be.  Wasn't then and isn't now.  Iraq and Vietnam couldn't be more different.  For starters....we won in Iraq.  We defeated the Iraqi Army and Saddam Hussein.  The United States has been victorious.  Now we're trying to go the extra step of helping Iraqis form a representative government in the face of Islamic terrorist insurgents who have other ideas.   The only problem at the moment is keeping the peace...and trying to kill as many terrorists as possible.  Nothing like the situation in Vietnam was.

Then there's the small matter of comparing both the length of the war and the casualties.  Again, not even close.  We've been in Iraq not even 4 years...and the casualty rate, while too high, isn't a tenth of what we lost in Vietnam.  But none of this matters.  All that matters is now the Bush-hating media will be pushing its Vietnam-Iraq template hard and heavy leading up to the election, just like they always have.

Boortz On Cavuto!

This afternoon, catch Neal on Your World with Neil Cavuto. It airs 4pm ET on the Fox News Channel. Topic: why the GOP doesn't deserve to keep the House.

The former House clerk says he raised red flags about the behavior of Mark Foley years ago.....but it fell on deaf ears.  He was the House clerk from 1998 to 2005 and oversaw the page program.  Evidently Foley's activities weren't that much of a surprise.

A cult leader sentenced to death in Ohio says he's too fat for execution.  How can you be too fat for an execution?  Well, he says his condition would make the injection too painful.  How about a compromise:  death by firing squad.  It's a win-win situation for everybody!

Dick Morris says it's all over for the GOP in 2006....and 2008.
He says the traditional Republican base is abandoning the GOP, clearing the way for huge Democratic gains.  He also says Hillary will win the White House in 2008.

Robert Novak shares his current predictions:  the Democrats will seize 20 seats.
...putting them in control of the House of Representatives for the first time since 1994. He specifically runs down which seats are leaning in which direction.

George Will reminds us that as much as Democrats would like us to believe it isn't true, we are currently in the middle of an economic boom.  For instance, did you know that unemployment among college graduates is just 2 percent?  That's right....2 percent.

Victor Davis Hanson says liberals have gone wild since Republicans have been in power.  He points out that Democratic ex-presidents Clinton and Carter have had no problem criticizing subsequent administrations, despite the tradition of not doing so among former presidents.

Ed Koch reports on the abuse of Christians in Iraq by certain Islamic groups.  When Pope Benedict XVI made his comments about Islam, certain Islamic extremists threatened to kill Christians.  Koch also says Europe is waking up to the threat from Islamic terrorism.

So with the situation looking as grim as it is, how on Earth could the White House, the RNC and Karl Rove be so optimistic?  Marc Ambinder says there is data to support the prediction that Republicans will retain control on Election Day.

Not to mention, says John Mcintyre, 3 weeks is a long time.  There's still time left in the runup to November 7th for momentum to change hands.  As an example, he cites the fact that the last 3 weeks have been up and down in the polls between Republicans and Democrats.

Liberals want the terrorists being held at Guantanamo Bay, Cuba to be able to pursue their cases through the American justice system.  But as Ann Coulter shows us, any number of liberal judges on the bench are very capable of handing out light sentences and slaps on the wrist.

In case you missed it yesterday, someone should tell this picketer not to consume the product he's picketing while he's picketing.
