ONE MORE DAY AT THE AFLAC CANCER CENTER
Once again today The Neal Boortz Show will be broadcasting live from the
Aflac Cancer Center at Children's Hospital in Atlanta. This is the second day of
our sixth annual
Care-a-Thon raising money for these brave children suffering
from childhood cancer and their incredible families.
An update ... as of yesterday the bid on my
1925 Chevy Superior was up to
$31,000. I know we can get a lot more for this beauty. I went to Carl Black of
Roswell yesterday afternoon and drove the Chevy around for a bit. What a hoot!
Here are some pictures from that visit. I can't describe how beautiful this car is. I'm telling you, if I
were a Chevrolet dealer somewhere I would pay big bucks to have this Chevy
sitting on my showroom floor .. and get a good tax deduction in the process!
Let's see how high we can get the bid on this incredible antique car. Call 1-888-750-2772 to bid or make a donation.
Neal will tell you all about this on the show today and give you a chance to bid on it
You can also bid on this Steve Penley painting
EXCELLENT ANALOGY
Dag nab it. I cut-and-pasted this from an article, an email, or from
somewhere on the Internet yesterday ... and for the life of me I can't remember
this morning who I should give the credit to!
At any rate ... Its an analogy ... a simple analogy that describes the
futility of negotiating peace with Islamic fascists. Here it is ... if you can't
figure it out, thank your government school teacher:
| One day a hunter saw a bear and was about to fire when the bear
held up his paw and said, "After all, Mr. Hunter all you want is a
fur coat, and all I want is a full stomach. Can't we use some
diplomacy and sit down and negotiate this problem." So the hunter
sat down to negotiate. The bear was right. The hunter got a fur coat
and the bear got a full stomach. |
WHY THE DEMOCRATS ARE SITTING THIS ONE OUT
It should be clear that the Democrat Party simply does not want to be engaged
in the war against Islamic fascism. The Democrat Party is clearly becoming the
Democrat-Appeasement Party. Good for the Islamic murderers. Bad for us.
Why, though, do the Democrats find it so terribly difficult -- almost
impossible -- to even so much as admit that we are actually in a hot, shooting
war with Islamic fascism? They simply view this as something that can be settled
if we just sit down, be nice, and talk a lot.
Noodle it out. It's all about power. Political power. Regaining power and
then retaining it.
Democrats know that the voting public views the Republicans as more likely to
act to defend our country when we are under threat. The trick, then, is to make
sure that the voters don't feel we're under a threat. Democrats know that if the
voters come to understand that there is a grave threat to the security of the
American people -- a threat, for instance, from Iran's nuclear program, and from
Islamic radicals around the world -- then these voters are not going to be
likely to vote for a party that they view as weak on defending America.
Democrats like John Kerry are trying to convince the people that Islamic
terrorism is no more than a simple law enforcement problem. Find them. Arrest
them. Try them. Jail them. Oh, and by the way, make sure they get their full
plate of Constitutional rights in the process ... even though they most
certainly aren't entitled to them.
Listen to these appeasers! "The war in Iraq is wrong." "We need to talk to
Iran." "We need to make Israel stop killing all those innocent civilians."
Listen, friends. There is no "war in Iraq." There is no "War in Afghanistan."
There's the Iraq front and the Afghan front in the world-wide war against
Islamic fascism. Instinctively, you know this.
That's what scares the Democrat-Appeasement party so much.
IN THIS ELECTION, IT'S EASY TO FIGURE OUT WHO NOT TO VOTE FOR
This is for my friends in my second home of Naples, Florida.
It seems you have a little school board election coming up, right? Several
seats on the Collier County School Board are up for grabs in a September 5th
Primary.
The Collier County teacher's unions have done you a real favor. They've
pointed out who you should
not vote for in District 5. They did this by
endorsing one of the three candidates.
The Collier County teacher's union is endorsing Virginia Ortino. Why? Well
... she's a teacher, for one ... but she also parrots the typical teacher's
union line about spending more money.
Studies have shown that the best "quick fix" to our government schools is to
reduce the power of the teacher's unions. When you vote against the candidates
endorsed by the teacher's unions you reduce their power.
How much more simple can we make this?
OK .. THAT'S IT FROM ME ...
Now I head to the AFLAC Cancer Center so I can visit with some of the kids
before the show. I leave the rest of the notes up to my staff ... with a bit of
guidance from me.
NAGIN TAKES A SHOT AT NEW YORK
With the one year anniversary of Hurricane Katrina fast approaching, New Orleans
Mayor Ray Nagin has been in the news a lot lately. Yesterday he was out there
complaining about how the money from Congress isn't being sent fast enough. And
now
he's done an interview with Byron Pitts for '60 Minutes' that is quite
interesting.
Mayor 'Chocolate City' Nagin, when confronted with the accusation that he's
taking too long to clean up his city, actually said this: "That's alright. You
guys in New York can't get a hole in the ground fixed and it's five years
later. So let's be fair." Oh how nice. Let's insult the memory of the 3,000
people incinerated on 9/11 while we're at it, shall we?
Ray Nagin is an embarrassment to New Orleans. It says a lot about the people
who live there that he somehow won a second term. But perhaps what is most
insulting to everyone about Nagin is that he is somehow trying to portray
himself as a victim in all this. The facts speak for themselves:
- After 1 year and billions of dollars, New Orleans is still a mess.
- Nagin still has never been held to account for waiting until 24 hours before
Katrina to evacuate his people. This led to many deaths on the part of people
who should be long gone.
- Nagin still has never been held to account for sending people to the
convention center, despite knowing that they weren't prepared to handle it.
- And, he still has never been held to account for letting dozens of empty
school buses sit idle....when those buses could have been used to evacuate
people.
One year later, same Ray Nagin. Blaming somebody else for his problems.
RACE-BASED SURVIVOR CAUSING CONTROVERSYThings have been a little slow in the reality TV department lately. The once
white-hot segment of television shows has cooled. That could have something to
do with the fact that we now have 10,000 reality shows about everything you
could possibly imagine. This has also affected one of the original reality
shows, 'Survivor' on CBS.
So, with ratings slowing...it was time to
spice things up a bit. The people at
the show decided to do something different this year. They're going to start
the show out with 4 teams: an Asian team, a white team, a black team and a
Latino one. That should really get people watching. But not everybody is happy
with this.
Officials in New York City, of all places, want the show pulled. According to
City Councilman John Liu, "The idea of having a battle of the races is
preposterous. How could anybody be so desperate for ratings?" CBS says they
recognize the show will be controversial. Of course, they know exactly what
they're doing.
I have no problem with the Survivor format. There is nothing in the world
wrong with ethnic pride .. and this is all about ethnic pride. However ... if
you're handicapping this show, a few suggestions:
- If survival depends on math skills ... bet on the Asians.
- If survival depends on the ability to withstand cold temperatures ... bet on
the white guys.
- If survival depends on a strong work ethic ... go with the Hispanics.
- If survival depends on outrunning something that wants to eat you ... bet on
the black team.
So there you have it...your own personal 'Survivor' viewing guide!

CAIR HAS A SPECIAL GUEST
You will probably recognize the name of CAIR...which is an acronym for Council
on American-Islamic Relations. This is the group that was in the news recently
for being granted a tour of airport security by the Department of Homeland
Security. The only problem is, CAIR itself has ties to terrorism. It was started
by an offshoot of Hamas, itself a terrorist organization. And many members of
CAIR have been arrested for terrorism-related activities.
But none of that has stopped CAIR from being treated by the media as some sort
of politically correct rights organization. But if you have any question about
where CAIR stands....now you'll know. It seems next month, former Iranian
President Mohammad Khatami will be visiting Washington. Who's that? He's the
former president of Iran who served from 1997 to 2005...the last nutjob before
the current one.
He'll be
speaking at a dinner September 8th, hosted by CAIR. This will be the
most senior Iranian official to visit the United States since 1979. Here's my
question....why are we letting him in? Iran is a rogue, terrorist state....and
was for the entire presidency of Khatami. If the State Department really wanted
to set an example, they would grow a pair and deny his Visa.
But....we can't have that. Political correctness in 2006 dictates that we must
appease our enemies. Oh well.
REDNECK SCRAP BOOK
I don't think you need to be a redneck to appreciate the kind of
fun you could have with these
balloons. More in the Redneck Scrap Book.
READING ASSIGNMENTS
Remember the Duke rape case? This is the one where a bunch of Duke University
lacrosse players supposedly raped that stripper?
Well, the files from that case have been released...and don't say a whole
lot. Looks like the D.A. may have been had on this one.
The State Department is in an uproar over Israel's use of American-made bombs
to bomb Hezbollah in Lebanon. Evidently we have some sort of secret agreement
that prevents this. Who cares....they're the good guys. We should be happy
Israel is using our gear to blow up Islamic terrorists.
Evidently some bus driver down in Louisiana still thinks this is 1955 when it
comes to race relations. Nine black children were ordered to the back of
the bus by the driver, who said the front seats were for white children. The
NAACP is thinking about demanding a formal probe by the Department of Justice.
How about just firing the bus driver and moving on?
Today we would like to give an honorable mention to Lake County, Indiana
Criminal Court Judge Diane Boswell. She detained 5 people for ringing cell
phones and fined one person $100 who admitted theirs went off. Perhaps people
will finally get the message. Now we just need movie theaters to enact the same
policy.
Certain Republicans are starting to get off the Operation Iraqi Freedom bus, one
by one.
Connecticut Republican Congressman Christopher Shays says we can't stay in Iraq
forever and it's time for an exit plan. Expect more of this as the election
draws nearer.
Charles Krauthammer notes the current administration's policy seems to be taking
on a more diplomatic tone. But he points out that this isn't really helping
things in the case of say, North Korea. Krauthammer says once a nation goes
nuclear, it's too late to prevent it.
Debra Saunders tells us about an outrageous case in which the Bush
Administration is prosecuting two Border Patrol agents for shooting a drug
smuggler. Saunders says the message seems to be that if you do your job, you're
going to prison.
If you have any doubts about who won the war in Lebanon, Michael Young will set
you straight. He says all you have to do is listen to the Syrian president
to find out what really happened.
Today Thomas Sowell continues his series on race and economics...which was
brought to light recently when Andrew Young made his comments about other groups
ripping off black people.
The grand prediction in this year's election is that the Democrats are headed
for a big win.
But Mona Charen says we get that every year...and it seldom turns out to be
right. |
