DID JUST A FEW OF YOU WAKE UP THIS MORNING?
Oh sure .. you woke up, or you wouldn't be reading this. But did you WAKE UP?
While you were sleeping British intelligence agents were
thwarting another
terrorist attack. This one would have been a biggie. Twenty-one people, all
Muslims, apparently all Arabs, are in custody. Officials say their plot has a
strong Al-Qaeda connection.
What plot?
Glad you asked. They were going to blow up several airplanes flying from
England to the U.S. The The attack was going to be on several airplanes flying
from Britain to the United States. The airlines to be attacked were Continental,
American and United. They were going to blow them all up, killing hundreds of
passengers on board.
A police official in the UK said the plan was "intended to be mass murder on
an unimaginable scale." It is fabulous news that this plan was thwarted and no
one was hurt.
So now that there has been such a public foiling of another terror attack,
will this convince the appeasers who don't believe in the War On Radical Islam?
It should. Too many people have become complacent since 9/11. Today is your
reminder.
Right now, there are people in the world that want to kill you. These people
are fanatics. They're fanatics of the worse kind .... religious fanatics.
They're intelligent. They have money. They have resources. They're determined.
They don't care if they die ... and they're very very patient.
Their goal is to bring the entire world under Islamic law ... or do die
trying. Either way they believe they will receive the reward of eternal
paradise.
How do you fight an enemy like that? They will never stop trying to kill us.
We say negotiations, they hear appeasement. We say peace plan, they hear
surrender. We say peaceful coexistence, they plot to grow their numbers and
their strength while we're wallowing in our own political correctness.
There is only one way to address radical Islam, and that is to completely and
absolutely destroy it. We seek the Islamofascists throughout the world. We
locate them, and then we destroy them.
This global war on radical Islam is a fight for our Western civilization and
culture. It's a fight for our very way of life.
While we all celebrate the thwarting of another Islamic terrorist attack, the
Islamofascists merely shrug this temporary setback off and head back to the old
drawing board. The next terrorist attack on the west is being planned as you
read or listen to these words. In fact ... there might even be an urgency on the
part of the Islamic radicals to pull off a terrorist attack as quickly as
possible ... just to show the Muslim world that they are still viable ... still
strong ... still capable of delivering death.
A few minutes of patting ourselves on the back is fine. Today's foiled
terrorist attack proves that very point. Whether it's deposing a terror-friendly
regime in Iraq, or cleaning out Hezbollah from Lebanon, we have to prevail.
Perhaps the events of this morning will convince more people.
AND WHAT ABOUT AUGUST 22ND?
Here's a link to
an article by Robert Spencer
which was written last month.
The title of the article is "Iran's Day of Terror?" Spenser is just one of many
experts on Islam who believe that Iran might well be planning a massive
terrorist attack by August 22nd, and possibly overnight on August 21. This
particular night is known as the Night of the Sira'a and Miira'aj to Muslims.
It's supposed to be the night Mohammed ascended to heaven.
The Night of the Sira'a about 11 days away.
Spenser writes of one Farid Ghadry, the president of the Reform Part of
Syria. Ghadry believes that Iranian president Ahmadinejad is promising to
illuminate the night sky over Jerusalem on that evening. Well ... a group of
airliners exploding en route to America would certainly light up the sky,
wouldn't it?
Just a thought.
DON'T FLY COMMERCIAL TODAY UNLESS YOU HAVE TO
Overreaction?
Possibly ... but today will be
a miserable day to fly commercial in the
United States. You cannot take any liquids, gels or lotions onto airplanes in
your pockets or your carryon luggage. You also can't take any remote controls.
Remote controls? You're probably thinking "who carries a remote control with
them when they fly?" Look at your car keys. See that little goody that opens
your car doors at the push of a button? That's a remote control. If it isn't in
your checked luggage, it's not going with you.
Have a nice trip!
IRAN PRESIDENT TALKS TO WALLACE
Former '60 Minutes' correspondent Mike Wallace sat down in Tehran this week
for
an interview with Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad. The interview,
parts of which will air on the 'CBS Evening News' tonight, will be broadcast in
its entirety on '60 Minutes' this Sunday.
So what did the Iranian weird-beard have to say? About what you would expect.
He complained about the Bush Administration, saying "see how they talk down to
my nation." I wonder if Wallace asked about Iran's backing of Hezbollah or the
recent revelation that the Hezbollah fighters that kidnapped Israeli soldiers
had trained in Iran. I suppose we'll have to wait and see on that one.
But when asked what he thought of Ahmadinejad, the always-liberal Wallace
couldn't wait to gush about the terrorist. "He's an impressive fellow, this guy.
He really is. He's obviously smart as hell," said Mike Wallace. Then he went
even further: "You'll find him an interesting man. I expected more of a
firebrand. I don't think he has the slightest doubt about how he feels about the
American administration and the Zionist state. He comes across as more rational
than I had expected."
Well isn't that special!
ANALYZING THE LIEBERMAN DEFEAT
Pundits are lining up to try and figure out what the defeat of incumbent
Senator Joe Lieberman in the Connecticut primary means. Is this a true
indication of the national mood? Is everyone who has ever supported the war
headed for defeat this fall? Does Lieberman have a prayer of keeping his seat
running as an Independent? Well, let's take a look at these questions and more.
As for whether or not this is some sort of national trend...probably not.
Connecticut has a tradition of being very unpredictable as far as elections go.
Remember, Lieberman also irritated the leftists in Connecticut with his feelings
on such things as affirmative action and vouchers.
Does this mean the GOP is in trouble this fall? Well, yeah! But we already
knew that, didn't we? This was an incumbent Democrat being defeated by an
anti-war Democrat. This doesn't really make things any worse for Republicans ...
things are already tough enough.
Hillary Clinton voted to invade Iraq...and hasn't exactly come out as hard
against the war as some of her colleagues would like. She faces her own version
of Ned Lamont this fall...an anti-war Democratic challenger of her own. So
really, the defeat of Joe Lieberman may cause more problems for Democrats than
Republicans.
But can Joe win? Absolutely. It turns out the Republican candidate for Senate
in Connecticut (yes, there is one) is pretty weak...and a lot of Republicans are
expected to go Lieberman's way. It's an interesting race to watch, but people
shouldn't read too much into it.
LARRY KING LIVE
What fun! In case you missed it, the producers at
Larry King Live thought that it would be a nifty idea to put
me and Air
America's Randi Rhodes on the air together [transcript
| video] to discuss the situation between
Israel and Hezbollah. Ms. Rhodes, unable to carry her point of view
forward in any logical manner, resorted to the usual: "You said so-and-so
about all Muslims and you called Muhammad a so-and-so!" I challenged her
to prove her assertions ... and those who listen to her show can see what she
comes up with today. I, on the other hand, saw no use in reminding Ms. Rhodes
that she once called for the assassination of George Bush on her radio show.
Ms. Rhodes finally came forward with the brilliant idea of treating terrorism as
a "law enforcement problem." Nuff said. Newsbusters watched and
dissected
the exchange for you.
Anyway ... I thought you might like to read just a smidgen
of the email I received after the show! Web Guy didn't have time to go
through it all, so maybe I'll have some goodies to share with you on the air
today.
So ... here we go into the wonderful world of email!
- People like you do love to spread hate, start wars and cause the death of the
innocent, but it's how you make your money. Low lives like you would do anything
for a dollar, but you already know this and you already know that you're a
lowest of the low lives.
- Hi Neal, I enjoyed watching the Randi Rhoads Show tonight
- you know, the one with you and Larry King as guests.
- I saw your debate with Randi Rhodes on Larry King. She's
going to need an ambulance stat. You sliced her into shreds. Enjoyed every
minute of it.
- I caught you on "LARRY KING LIVE" last night. Good job on your part. Randi
Rhodes however?? I think that I am a pretty bright guy, but I could not find
the slightest bit of reason in any argument she made. The phrase "USEFUL IDIOT"
kept superimposing itself over her caterwauling.
- I nearly lost it when, after failing to make a point or to show you in error,
she fell back into that clichéd Liberal fallback position of personal attack.
"I've just shown myself to be a fool, but you said something mean about Arabs."
As my sainted Baptist Grandmother would say..."OY VEY."
- It is 9:40 Wednesday night and I have just finished
watching you debate with that kook Randy on Larry King Live. It was hilarious
to see you make her out to be the nincompoop that she is. You were as
enlightening as I thought you would be. I am an everyday listener to your show
and will continue to be as long as you remain on the air. So great job and I'll
be hearing you tomorrow!
- Unequivocally, i think that you are one of the most vile
and evil human beings on the planet. although i don't wish evil on anyone, i
would not care one bit if you died a painful, protracted and agonizing death.
you are a sick twisted hateful person.
- I saw you for the first time tonight on Larry King. I
have never listened to you before, but your looks tell me you are an evil
person. I have always believed that the eyes are the "windows to the soul"
and what I see through those "windows" is dark, mean, evil, angry, and a
tremendous amount of hatred. It is not I that hates you; YOU are the hater of
mankind. I read the headlines of some of your past shows and listened to most
of one. It is hard for me to comprehend that anyone can have such hatred
within him. It is quite obvious that you would support the neo-cons. Someday
you will have to answer for your nastiness, and it won't be to anyone here on
earth. A Greater Power than you or I will be the judge. If you don't believe
that, then you don't believe in the Bible.
- You are incredible. You made Ms Rhodes look like an absolute idiot. You let
her spew her garbage and Let Larry be the demon by stopping her. Then you
diminished her comments with pure common sense. You have a real since for
importance of the letting these extremist babble their crap. Nice job. I just
wanted you to know how your appearance on CNN played. Ms Rhodes looked like an
idiot and you looked like a good alternative. Far Tax!!!! Common sense!!!!
Your my man. Run for president in 08. You do have a chance. I don't care what
is out there. Do it for us.
god bless randi rhodes.
- I think you should leave USA because you and people like
you doing harm to this great country. Plus you are a aboused child put your head
in a toilet and kill your self mother f****r.
- I listened to your interview on Larry King tonight from
Vancouver, Canada. I have to convey that I was impressed by the clear
understanding you have of the mechanisms of terrorism and how you communicated
it. You were absolutely correct when you stated that a peace agreement with
these terrorists, which would only be achieved through significant compromise
from Israel and the rest of the civilized world, would undoubtedly be
perceived as a sign of weakness from the Western world. I believe that anyone
who fails to realize this is making a considerable mistake which will reveal
fatal in a not so distant future. I am a member of the Royal Canadian Mounted
Police and can assure you that we, here, have a significant number of
"dormant" terrorist Hezbollah cells who are just waiting for the opportune
time to terrorize us and our neighbors. Unfortunately, a large number of
Canadians, perhaps due to ignorance, are promptly and wrongfully sympathetic
to the Hezbollah cause.
- Neil, too bad your debating opponent wasn't someone who
wasn't more willing to hear your point of view. I hope Larry King invites you
back so that we may hear more from you. Best wishes, Allan Waxman, Toronto

READING ASSIGNMENTS
Fresh off his primary loss, Hillary Clinton has thrown Joe Lieberman under the
bus. She says she'll back his challenger, Ned Lamont. But Hillary has her
own problem. She's being challenged by an anti-war Democrat in New York.
There's more evidence that the so-called Hezbollah fighters in southern Lebanon
are actually soldiers that were trained in Iran. In fact,
bodies of Iranian Revolutionary Guards have been found among the dead.
A new survey is out in which Americans rate news personalities. At the top:
Diane Sawyer. At the bottom? Star Jones.
But you may be surprised where your favorite news reporter or anchor rated.
The International Herald Tribune has pulled a cartoon featuring Ann Coulter...in
a burqa. For those that don't know, that's the outfit women in Islamic
countries wear that covers them from head to toe. Some people don't have a
sense of humor.
Columnist Jed Babbin writes in an open letter to RNC Chairman Ken Mehlman that
it's time they recognize their real enemy and it isn't necessarily the
Democratic party. It's the mainstream media, with all of their slanted news
coverage and outright propaganda.
Robert Novak points out that Hillary Clinton's confrontation with Donald
Rumsfeld last week was calculated down to the last sentence to serve a
single purpose. And that is to distance herself from the war in Iraq and appear
to be more anti-war to her base.
Pat Buchanan takes a look at Joe Lieberman's defeat in Connecticut and
wonders what it all means. He also says Lieberman will be under extreme
pressure from his own party to bow out.
In its coverage of the Israeli-Hezbollah conflict, the mainstream media
continues to do the work of Hezbollah and take their side.
Victor Davis Hanson says the real problem in this war is the west and their
perception of Israel.
In his second column on the subject,
Thomas Sowell looks at many so-called studies and what they report. Not
surprisingly, many of these studies are useless and serve no purpose, other than
to further a particular point of view by the person conducting the study.
Ever wonder what it is about Israel and Jewish people that the Islamic world
despises so much?
Michael Medved attempts to answer that question. An interesting column for
those who may wonder what all the fuss is about.
