WE CAN MAKE THEM GO HOME ON THEIR OWN!
President Bush is now on record as saying that
a
massive deportation of illegal aliens in this country just wouldn't work.
OK, so he didn't call them "illegal aliens." He used the "immigrant" word.
That doesn't work for me. Immigration is a legal procedure. Rushing
across the border without permission is not immigration. It's trespassing
at best, an invasion at worse. But .. we digress. Bush has now told
Republicans that "massive deportation of the people here is unrealistic.
It's just not going to work."
He may be right. I've said it before right
here. If we started loading these criminals onto busses and airplanes and
tried sending them back to Mexico, the Mexican government would simply deny
permission for those busses to cross the border and for those airplanes to fly
into Mexican airspace. The United Nations would then immediately start
screaming about massive human rights abuses on the part of the U.S. Forced
repatriation with Mexico for the invaders is simply not going to work.
Before we get to a plan that would work, let's
review the problem.
Since 1990 an estimated 25 million Latinos have
crossed the Mexican - American border .... northbound. The reason you keep
hearing the 11 million figure is because the other 13 to 14 million were given
amnesty during the mid-1990s.
Mexicans have come to view crossing the border
into the United States in order to work and send money back home as a way of
life. According to
an AP article by Mark Stevenson (4/23/06) "Mexico's
economy, society and political system are built around the assumption that
migration and amnesties for undocumented migrants will continue -- and that the
$20 billion they send home every year will keep coming, and almost certainly
grow."
Stevenson also reports that Mexicans -- the ones
actually living in Mexico -- are giving their babies American names like Johnny
and Leslie so that they will fit in better once they've moved to the United
States.
Vicente Fox, Mexico's president, considers the
illegal aliens to be "heroes." Why? Because they send those tens of
millions of dollars back to their families, thus, at least to some extent,
relieving Fox of the necessity of tackling corruption in the Mexican government
and reforming the Mexican economy so that these people can earn that money there
instead of invading the United States to get work.
And please don't forget our friend, Professor
Charles Truxillo of the University of New Mexico. Professor Truxillo says
that
there will be a new, sovereign Hispanic nation formed within the United
States and northern Mexico in the not-too-distant future. The good
professor says that this new nation, called "Republica del Norte" will take in
all of California, Arizona, New Mexico, Texas and southern Colorado, as well as
several northern Mexican states. How will this all happen? Truxillo
says it will come as a result of electoral pressure of the "future majority
Hispanic population in the region."
You think it can't happen? Well, could you
please tell me, then, why Mexican magazines are publishing articles praising the
exploits of the "reconquistadors" while politely informing American
citizens "with all due respect, Los Angeles is ours?"
Now, back to the president's remarks. As it
happens, I agree. We aren't prepared to handle the reaction from Latin
America and the howls of protest from the United Nations if we actually try to
gather up these invaders and send them back from whence they came. There
is, however, another way. Let me lay it out for you step-by-step.
1. Close the borders. Not next
month. Now. Send the National Guard. Send American troops.
What are they for if not to defend the borders of this country? Start
stringing the barbed wire. Patrol with dogs. Do whatever needs to
be done, but shut the border down. Let the rest of the world scream, but
we have every right to defend our borders against invaders.
2. Immediately pass legislation providing
for harsh penalties for any and all businesses and individuals who hire
illegal aliens. No half-measures. Make it hurt. Last week
immigration officials arrested over 1000 illegal aliens working for one
company that makes pallets and shipping crates. The officers of that
company should be headed to jail, and the company should be seized by the
government and sold at auction with the proceeds being used to pay for
securing our border. Put employers in jail --- take their stuff.
Let them know that this is serious and that hiring illegal aliens is
tantamount to giving aid and comfort to the enemy. The hell with their
campaign contributions. Fine them and jail them. Make 'em scream.
As for getting these jobs done? Pay a wage that will attract Americans.
It won't hurt. The majority of people working in agriculture and
construction in this country are citizens. They'll do the work.
Spreading pine straw may be a problem.
3. Heavily tax all wire and other
transfers of money from illegal aliens to their homelands. If Mexico is
getting $20 billion a year from illegal aliens in the U.S., seize about 30% of
it. Call it a fine. That $7 billion could also be spent on border and
immigration control.
4. Change the law so that any child born
to a person in this country illegally does not automatically become an
American citizen. That child will adopt the citizenship of its mother.
5. Put an end to providing all but emergency
social services to illegal aliens. No food stamps, no welfare benefits,
no access to taxpayer-funded government schools ... no taxpayer-funded
government services except for life saving medical care.
Enact those proposals, and what would we have? Those
who have already illegally crossed the border will have one helluva time finding
work in this country. No trabajo, no dinero. If they do find work
they'll have another problem sending the money they earned back home. So
.. they're here with no job, no prospect of finding a job, and no way to send
their money back to Mexico without a heavy fine if they do happen to find work.
Plus, they can't tap into the great American welfare state. What is there
left to do? Go home! That's about it! And please notice that
this is all accomplished without passing any laws making the illegals felons or
threatening to deport them or put them in jail.
I heard of one other possible solution recently ... one
that is apparently being given some consideration in Washington. Simply
pass a law about illegal immigration that matches, word-for-word, the law in
Mexico. Being in Mexico illegally is a crime, yet Mexico screams when we
try to criminalize illegal aliens in this country. If our law read exactly
the same as does theirs, what are they going to say?
THE WONDERFUL, PEACEFUL RELIGION OF ISLAM
Islamic terrorist blew up about 22 or so tourists and
injured another 150 in an Egyptian resort yesterday. Three of the injured
were Americans. This particular Egyptian resort is popular with Israelis,
and many visitors there were celebrating Easter. Ain't Allah great! While
these Islamic maniacs are busy killing people in Egypt and elsewhere, they're
also busy in Europe trying to get restrictions put into place that would
prohibit newspapers, broadcast stations, and ordinary people from saying
anything about Islam that Muslims might find offensive.
In the meantime, Americans are gripped with anxiety over
who is going to come out on top on American Idol this week.
WILL THE LAST EMPLOYER LEAVING MASSACHUSETTS PLEASE
LAUGH ON THE WAY OUT
I've been telling you that this is on the Democratic
agenda for years, and now it's coming to fruition in the People's Republic of
Massachusetts. Democrats in Mass. are going to introduce yet more
regulations of private business. This time it will be a requirement that
all workers in Mass.
be paid for up to 12 weeks of leave every single year for
time off to care for newborns, adopted children or sick family members.
The entire social welfare program will be financed with yet another tax ...
another payroll tax. This will be $1.50 per week per worker. No...
wait! Now they're saying it could go up to $2.50 a week! Any bets on
just how high this new tax could go?
Today, Massachusetts, tomorrow the rest of the country.
Democrats have been dreaming of paid family leave since the unpaid variety
became law many years ago. Just more of the womb to tomb government
paternalism that we all love paying for so much. Don't we?
REMEMBER WHAT'S REALLY IMPORTANT OUT THERE
USA Today has a story in today's edition about a great new
list that has been compiled by Victoria's Secret. It's the list of "sexy" who's
who. You get the sexiest city in the world, the sexiest city in the US,
the sexiest car, the sexiest food, the sexiest video, the sexiest movie ... etc.
For those of you out there who are immersed in the celebrity culture, and who
simply won't take a magazine off the newsstand unless it has the word "sex" on
the cover in some context,
here's your link for the USA Today story. I know, if you were wired
that way you probably wouldn't be reading the Nuze ... but maybe a few of you
slipped through.
CAIR UPSET ABOUT E-MAIL
Well. what do we have here. Looks like
a small case of some people being able to dish it out, but not take it. Let's
start at the top. The story begins at Michigan State University with a
mechanical engineering professor named Indrek Wichman.
Wichman sent an e-mail to the Muslim
Student's Association. The e-mail was in response to the students' protest of
the Danish cartoons that portrayed the Prophet Muhammad as a terrorist. The
group had complained the cartoons were "hate speech." Enter Professor Wichman.
In his e-mail, he said the following:
"Dear Moslem
Association: As a professor of Mechanical Engineering here at MSU I intend to
protest your protest.
I am offended not
by cartoons, but by more mundane things like beheadings of civilians, cowardly
attacks on public buildings, suicide murders, murders of Catholic priests (the
latest in Turkey!), burnings of Christian churches, the continued persecution
of Coptic Christians in Egypt, the imposition of Sharia law on non-Muslims,
the rapes of Scandinavain girls and women (called "whores" in your culture),
the murder of film directors in Holland, and the rioting and looting in Paris
France.
This is what
offends me, a soft-spoken person and academic, and many, many, many of my
colleagues. I counsel you dissatisfied, aggressive, brutal, and uncivilized
slave-trading Moslems to be very aware of this as you proceed with your
infantile "protests."
If you do not like
the values of the West -- see the 1st Amendment -- you are free to leave. I
hope for God's sake that most of you choose that option. Please return to your
ancestral homelands and build them up yourselves instead of troubling
Americans.
Cordially, I. S.
Wichman, Professor of Mechanical Engineering"
Well! As you can imagine, the Muslim
group at the university didn't like this too well. They're demanding Wichman be
reprimanded and mandatory diversity training for faculty and a seminar on hate
and discrimination for freshman. How nice. But now the Michigan chapter of
CAIR has jumped into the fray. CAIR , the Council on American-Islamic
Relations, apparently doesn't believe that the good professor had the right to
express his opinion.
For its part, the university is standing
its ground. They say the e-mail was private, and they don't intend to publicly
condemn his remarks. That will probably change. Wichman says he never intended
the e-mail to be made public, and wouldn't have used the same strong language if
he'd known it was going to get out.
How's the left going to handle this
one? If you're in favor of the freedom of speech, as in the case of Ward
Churchill, will the same protections be demanded for Indrek Wichman? I doubt
it.
INVESTIGATING GAS PRICES
Here we go. As expected, President Bush
has decided to
order an investigation into high gasoline prices. He is
scheduled to announce the probe today in Washington. This is in response to an
ignorant public that demand politicians "do something" about high gas prices.
This is so pathetic on so many levels...so we'll cover just a few.
Just like with the other calls for
investigations into price gouging...this will go nowhere. A lot of money will
be spent investigation oil companies...and just as a bunch of times before, no
evidence of any such price gouging will be proven to have taken place. Besides,
what is price gouging anyway? Just a buzzword used by the anti-capitalist,
government-educated among us.
Most people think that one oil company
owns the oil rig that gets the crude out of the ground, the tanker that delivers
it and the refinery that makes the gasoline. This is also false. In many
cases, every step in that chain is owned by a different party. Then, when it
comes to the actual gasoline, the gas station is most likely an independent
dealer...who may have a franchise from one of the big oil companies. We are to
believe that all of these separate companies and individuals got together to fix
gas prices artificially high?
Neal's On Fox News Today
Neal will be discussing this issue with Neil Cavuto today at 4pm on the Fox News Channel. Hear what they have to say about price gouging and who is really doing the gouging. |
There's also the pesky law of supply and
demand. In case you haven't checked lately, the supply of crude oil and
refined gasoline is limited, but the demand is increasing worldwide. This
leads to temporary shortages and higher prices. It's not Bush's fault, and
it's not the fault of the oil companies. If you want someone to blame, try
the environmental lobby that fights any and all exploration for new sources of
crude oil.
So no amount of investigations are going
to do anything about gas prices. it sounds good, but you're still looking at
between $3 and $4 a gallon this summer. If that's too high for you, time to
warm up your tricycle ... or try walking. Maybe you'll work off some
pounds.
MORE BAD LUCK FOR CYNTHIA MCKINNEY
Poor Cynthia McKinney. At this point,
bringing up any more of her problems might seem like piling on. We certainly
shouldn't kick somebody when they're down, should we? Well...in her case, the
answer is probably yes. Would she cut a Republican in the same situation any
slack? Hardly.
As a grand jury investigates her cop
punching incident, Cynthia McKinney has filed to run for re-election. Already,
she is being challenged in the July Democratic primary for her seat representing
Georgia's 4th District. That challenger comes to us in the person of Hank
Johnson. He's on the DeKalb County Commission. As McKinney's actions become
more and more embarrassing, he might have a real shot at winning.
By the way,
her attorney quit
yesterday. Apparently he decided to get off the crazy train before the
indictment comes down. Oh, and one more thing. Yesterday at the Georgia
Capitol, McKinney was still spewing nonsense, saying that people love her
because she tells the truth: "They know I told the truth about September 11th.
They know I told the truth about George Bush's war. And can you imagine that
now, in this election season, we're talking about a nuclear strike on Iran?"
If Cynthia McKinney is such a
truth-teller, then why did she lie about punching the Capitol Hill police
officer?

As gas prices rise
Republicans are sounding more and more like Nancy Pelosi. A Wall
Street Journal editorial.
The plot thickens in the Mary McCarthy affair.
She says she didn't leak the existence of the secret prisons in Europe to the
Washington Post. The CIA says she was canned for a pattern of behavior.
Apparently she liked to talk to reporters. Not good when you're supposed to
keep your trap shut.
All indications are that
Tony Snow will make the jump from Fox News TV and radio straight to the White
House briefing room as the new press secretary.
This should make things interesting....a debate from the podium with David
Gregory is sure to come.
New House Majority Leader John Boehner writes in an op-ed
in USA Today that the GOP is restoring integrity to the House of
Representatives. A nice thought, but it may not be enough to keep the ship from
sinking.
Pat Buchanan makes a fine point: Mary McCarthy has been fired
and is headed for prosecution and probably prison. However, the journalist she
leaked the information to, Dana Priest of the Washington Post, just won a
Pulitzer Prize for publishing that leaked information. Quite a contrast, isn't
it?
Thomas Sowell weighs in on the Duke rape story.
He wonders why some people are afraid to question the story of the
accuser....which looks to be a bit shaky.
Christopher Hitchens wants to know if there will be a special prosecutor in this
latest CIA leak case.
You know, like there's been for the Valerie Plame (non) affair. Somehow, I
doubt it.
It's become a template:
gas prices go up, politicians demand investigations and things like a windfall
profits tax.
But Bill Murchison says they're really doing this to hide their complicity in
the problem.
The Poodle has been doing
everything he can to make sure people don't forget him since he lost his run for
the White House a year and a half ago.
David Limbaugh looks at the many ways John Kerry is trying to get attention
these days.
Cal Thomas says Mary McCarthy is a traitor, plain and simple.
He says in another time, she would have been shot or served a long prison term.
What will happen to McCarthy now? Just be fired and nothing else?
There are some 12 million
illegal aliens in this country.
Phyllis Schlafly reminds us all of the heavy price we pay for illegal
immigration. |
