 MORE PROOF WE NEED A "LOSER PAYS" SYSTEM
OK .. so this is shooting fish in a barrel. On any given day anyone with a modicum of Internet ability can find a story or two about ridiculous lawsuits that are clogging our courts and kicking up our insurance premiums. Today we check in with John Claassen. Claassen is a 36-year-old lawyer in California. He went to the eHarmony.com website and tried to sign up for the matchmaking service. There was one small problem. Claassen was still married. Oh, he was pursuing a divorce, but he was still legally married. So eHarmony refused to match him up with a new potential girlfriend. eHarmony, you see, has an "unmarried" policy. Now Claassen is suing. He claims the policy discriminates against him based on his marital status. Two things should happen here. First, Claassen should lose his license to practice law. Abusing the legal system with frivolous lawsuits is one thing. For a lawyer to file an idiotic and frivolous lawsuit like this is quite another. Second: He should be required to pay all of the legal expenses for eHarmony once he loses this suit; and lose it he will. AMERICANS HAVE GONE TO SLEEP  A recent poll has shown that Americans are more concerned about medical care than they are about the possibility of another terrorist attack on their country. This would go a long way toward explaining why President Bush's approval numbers are so low. Bush is focused on the war on terror; on protecting this country from the jihadist goals of Islam. Americans, being Americans, have noted that there has not been an attack on their country since 9/11, and therefore the threat of a terrorist attack is all but over and we're all safe. Now it's time for the government to do something to relieve them of the onerous responsibility of providing for your own medial care. After all, your health and your medical care is the responsibility of either your employer or the government, right? Because of this attitude socialized medicine is all but inevitable in this country, and you aren't going to like it even one little bit.
In the meantime ... we learned yesterday that congressional investigators successfully smuggled enough radioactive material into this country to make two dirty bombs. The material even set off radiation detectors at the border checkpoints, but got in. One border crossing was in Canada, the other in Mexico. Both crossings were chosen because there were radiation detectors there. In both cases the detectors went off. The "smugglers" were pulled aside and questioned. They showed forged import licenses from the Nuclear Regulatory Commission. The forgeries were copies of a document they found on the Internet. The forgeries worked, and they got through the border checkpoint. Read that entire last paragraph again. This should be today's big story. Still feeling sleepy? DEMOCRATS TO TAKE OUT OSAMA This is good. The Democratic party, the party of appeasement...the party of treating terrorism as nothing more than a crime problem for 3 decades...the party of surrender in the war on radical Islam...they suddenly have a plan to eliminate Osama Bin Laden. This should be good. First, the details of their "plan." The Democrats issued a position paper for their party in the 2006 election. Essentially, they're saying 'elect us and here's what we'll do.' Here are the details: - They promise to eliminate Osama Bin Laden. They don't say how. Doubling special forces and increasing the number of spies. Yeah..that will help. Not.
- They promise a responsible redeployment of forces from Iraq in 2006. That's code for cutting and running. Again, they don't say how or what they would do to stabilize Iraq.
So...more of the same. Unfortunately, their servants in the mainstream media are giving them the headline that they have a plan to catch Osama. But really, they have no plan. just an empty promise. But hey! If politicians have learned one thing in the last 30 years it's that Americans will fall for empty promises. It's the same thing Democrats have been giving us on national security since the days of Jimmy Carter. Appeasement, surrender and cluelessness. Some plan! RENT-A-PROTESTERS  So just where did those thousands and thousands of protesters that showed up around the country to protest an immigration bill in Congress come from? Were they angry immigrants sitting in their government housing watching C-SPAN...only to become upset at a bill that was just out of committee? Not hardly.
The truth is starting to come out about just where these folks came from. They were protesting in the street because.....because they were told to. It turns out the Spanish media was stoking the fire. In fact, they went a step further...even telling them when and where to protest...what to wear and how to do it. It was an all-out propaganda war. And just where will you hear this reported? Not in the mainstream media. They will report that the protests took place, then say nothing about how they got there. As it turns out, these were essentially rent-a-mobs..carefully coordinated over a period of weeks to show up and do their thing. If the media really wanted to do their job, they would have sent a reporter into the crowd with a microphone to ask the protesters just which bill they were protesting and what the language of the legislation was. READING ASSIGNMENTS CNN's Lou Dobbs has become a snarling pit bull on the issue of illegal immigration, and Americans are flocking to his show. Undercover teams from the GAO easily smuggled enough materials for 2 dirty bombs across our Canadian and Mexican borders...with radiation detectors. Remember the school buses in New Orleans...the ones that sat idle and flooded, while hundreds of people died in the hurricane...instead of being carried to safety? You can now buy one on eBay. I guess the city wants to get rid of the evidence of their incompetence and negligence.
With hurricane season getting ready to start back up again, FEMA and other disaster officials say they're going to start getting tough on evacuations. But the smartest thing they've announced: there will be no shelters of last resort during evacuations...everybody out.
Here we go again...thanks to the ACLU, the U.S. government is about to release more Abu Ghraib photos. The media's favorite anti-American addiction will be reawakened...all Abu Ghraib, all the time.
This is good...there's more evidence that people aren't going to look the other way on this sham student protest in Los Angeles. Law enforcement says they will cite truant students. Good!
California Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger is coming out against illegal immigration amnesty, as proposed by the White House. Since he's an immigrant himself..perhaps people will listen to Arnold....or be terminated. Meanwhile, the new House Majority Leader says Congress may back down on amnesty. How about instead of backing down, we eliminate the idea altogether?
