 OKLAHOMA TONIGHT!
As soon as the mic switch goes dark today Royal and I are off for Oklahoma City! Tonight at 7:00 we'll be at the Barnes & Noble Bookstore at 6100 North May where I'll be signing copies of The FairTax Book. Tomorrow morning we broadcast from the studios Talk Radio 1520 KOKC, and ten we hit the road for Tulsa where we join Clark Howard, Sean Hannity and Oliver North for a "Meeting of the Mouths" Mabee Center. So .. Oklahoma ... here we come! COMMANDER IN CHIEF  Many listeners have phoned the show to ask me if the new television show which features Geena Davis playing the role of a female president is an overt attempt to promote the candidacy of Hillary Clinton. Up until now I've said that while the show will certainly help the American people accept the idea of a female president, I didn't really think that was the design or intention. Well ... now we have more information. Now we learn that the creator of the program has said that he will take credit by claiming that the show helped if Hillary is elected.
On the program Geena Davis makes references to Hillary. One of the show's writers is Steve Cohen. Cohen was Hillary's communications director when she was First Lady. Hillary's social secretary is also a special advisor to the program. So .. my answer now is "yes." "Commander in Chief" is and was designed to be a prime-time promotion of the candidacy of Hillary Clinton for president of the United States. GEORGIA VOTER ID LAW BLOCKED Democrats have succeeded in blocking, for now, a new law in Georgia that requires Georgia voters to show a government-issued picture ID when they show up to vote. U.S. District Judge Harold Murphy has temporarily blocked enforcement of the law. He says the law is an unconstitutional poll tax. He also says it will not combat voter fraud. For voters without driver's licenses, the state was going to issue free picture IDs. Free .. that means no cost. Still, the judge calls it a poll tax. You don't pay any money, but it's a tax. Look. This is all very simple. Why did Democrats oppose the law in the first place? Because Democrats want people who are not legally entitled to cast votes to go to the polls on election day. Democrats know full well that illegal aliens, felons, non-citizens and others not qualified to vote are far more likely to vote for Democrats than for Republicans. In several states there are proposals to allow non-citizens, and in some cases illegal aliens, to vote in local elections, and in every case those proposals are being put forward by Democrats. Democrats believe that their political survival might well depend on their ability to generate illegal votes on election day. They have a huge ally in Judge Harold Murphy. SADDAM ON TRIAL
 Right now, we are witnessing a history-making event. Saddam Hussein is sitting in a pen in front of an Iraqi special tribunal, on trial for crimes against humanity. The judge asked Saddam for his name, title and profession. Hussein insisted he was still the president of Iraq and had to be told to sit down and shut up. Should be a fun trial.
Now to those of you sitting on the fence about the war in Iraq...ask yourself this. Had George Bush not ordered the invasion of Iraq in 2003, Saddam Hussein would still be in power in Baghdad. The UN sanctions probably would have been lifted by now, since Saddam was doing a pretty thorough job bribing the rest of the UN Security Council. He would still be terrorizing the people of Iraq, and yes, he would still be pursuing weapons of mass destruction.
He would then be looking for buyers for his WMD. One of the first customers would be Al-Qaeda. But Saddam was stopped. Overthrown from power, he was then yanked out of his rat hole almost 2 years ago and thrown in jail. Now he's on trial.
Despite what Democrats and the media in this country say, the majority of Iraqis are glad Saddam is gone. They will be watching this trial with great interest. And all of it is made possible by the United States of America and President George W. Bush.
A new, democratic Iraq is taking shape with a new legislature, free elections and a new Constitution. The world is also seeing Saddam Hussein being given something he denied tens of thousands of people he murdered: a fair trial. By the way, the lead judge in Saddam's trial is an ethnic Kurd.
This will be interesting.
YEAH RIGHT...DON'T HOLD YOUR BREATH
The Bush Administration has all of a sudden decided it is going to get tough on illegal immigration. Testifying before Congress with Labor Secretary Elaine Chao, Department of Homeland Security Secretary Michael Chertoff said that the administration's goal is to capture every single illegal alien and deport them. Yeah right. President Bush added to the seemingly new policy yesterday when he was signing a homeland security spending bill by saying that "Our goal is clear -- to return every single illegal entrant, with no exceptions." Very interesting. So what does it all mean?
Absolutely nothing. The administration is still advocating their temporary worker card program that would let illegal aliens work in this country for six years. That's right, six years. Not very temporary, is it? Chertoff also said the administration cannot deport the 11 million illegal aliens that are already here. Why not? Because there is absolutely no political will to do anything about the problem of illegal immigration.
The biggest reason: votes. Just about every politician, no matter the party, wants the Hispanic vote. They will do whatever they can to pander to this group, including looking the other way on illegals. George Bush has been particularly effective with his Hispandering over the years.
The bottom line: their goal is to deport every single illegal alien, except they're never going to do it. Oh, and illegal aliens can get a 6-year worker card if they want. Sounds like the same old policy to me!
HURRICANE WILMA
Hurricane Wilma looks like a doozy. Speeding toward Florida, it's currently a Category 5 storm packing winds of 175 miles per hour. It is the strongest hurricane ever recorded in the Atlantic. Looks like Southern Florida is going to get it as early as Saturday. Our prayers are with those folks as they prepare to evacuate.
So why so many hurricanes? Who knows. It's hurricane season. However, in the coming days, expect the left and the media to begin pushing the nonsense that Hurricane Wilma is being caused by global warming. Since George Bush did not sign the Kyoto treaty, then that means Bush himself is the cause.
It's the new liberal template: no matter where there is suffering or devastation, no matter who or what caused it, it's somehow George Bush's fault. This will be no different. Just watch.

Workers at Northwest Airlines who smoke will be charged more for their health care premiums. Good idea...make those filthy addicts cover the increased costs associated with their self-destructive, poisonous behavior. Maybe then they'll stop. Probably not.
Looks like Plamegate Special Prosecutor Patrick Fitzgerald won't be issuing a final public report, which means he'll probably be indicting someone. Expect Karl Rove and Scooter Libby to be indicted. For what, who knows? Bill Kristol says the White House is expecting indictments. Obstruction of justice? Revealing the name of an alleged covert agent? Rove has canceled his RNC appearances in anticipation.
Oh those generous Senators....the U.S. Senate has decided to forgo their annual pay raise. Now how about cutting taxes, slashing spending and balancing the budget?
Judy Miller's little jail charade hasn't gone unnoticed, and Debra Saunders says she is in disrepute because of it. I wonder if she still has that book deal lined up with Simon and Schuster?
Another excellent column from John Stossel. This one is about gun control...did you know that the Brady Bill has done nothing to reduce violent crime? This one will make your liberal friends' heads spin.
In order for the Democratic party to rise once again, they're going to have to let go of a few myths. Tod Lindberg tells us what they are, and wonders if the left is capable of once again being a mainstream party.
