THIS
IS GETTING SO TIRESOME
I found myself hitting the mute button this morning every time the Schiavo
matter came on CNN. I'm tired of hearing spokesmen for Michael Schiavo
tell about how peaceful she looks, though I suspect that's true. And I'm
even more tired of hearing Bob Schindler, Terri's father, talking about how
she's still alert and responding, though I suspect that's nothing more than
wishful thinking. If I'm tired of hearing about it, I just know you
are. Having said that ......
I
OWE GOVERNOR JEB BUSH AN APOLOGY
Yesterday I slammed politicians who seem to have adopted the position that
the rule of law should be tossed aside in the Schiavo matter. I included
Jeb Bush in that grouping. I was wrong. Listening to Governor Bush
over the past day or so it's clear that he, unlike the protester outside of the
hospice, does understand the rule of the law in our society. He recognizes
the rule of law and is determined to abide by the law. How unique, a
politician who gets it.
FRIGHTENING
PROTESTERS
The more these protester in Pinellas Park demand, the more frightening it
gets. I've been warning you about this attitude for years, now you're
seeing it for yourself. What attitude? The idea that religious dogma
trumps the law. The idea that the laws passed by our representatives, and
the limitations on government set forth by our Constitution, mean nothing when
the deeply religious want something done or not done. I wish I could say
that I was shocked when I heard the protester demanding that President Bush and
Jeb Bush ignore the law and act on their demands. I ask you to consider
the demands of these protester in relation to that auto shop located at the end
of the street .. just down from the hospice. There are reports that these
protesters peel away from the hospice on Sundays to walk down the street and
harass the owner of the auto shop. Why? Because he's working on
Sunday. Imagine what life becomes like in America if these zealots finally
get the control over our laws that they want. Imagine what happens if
Randall Terry realizes his goal of an American theocracy. Will the owner
of the auto shop be jailed if he dares to turn a wrench on the Sabbath.
Please, would someone tell me what is so wrong with the idea of living your
own life in accordance with your own religious beliefs? What is so wrong
about living your life as an example for others to follow? Why is it
so important for some people to exercise so much control over the lives of
others?

TALKING
TO HANNITY
Sean and I discussed the Schiavo matter a bit yesterday. We discussed
the negative consequences of being true to your beliefs while doing a talk show
... even when those beliefs make so many listeners angry. Sean brought up
an excellent point ... one I want to share with you. He said "If the
flip side of that is that we are dishonest for ratings---then we become what we
hate--POLITICIANS!!"
Well said.
HERE
COMES JESSE JACKSON
Today, the Sloganmaster will head to the Woodside Hospice in Pinellas Park,
Florida to pray with the Schindler family and attempt to visit the body formerly
known as Terri Schiavo. It should come as no surprise that the publicity
pimp is on the scene of a national story. The bigger surprise is Jesse's
stand on the issue.
Check out this quote: "I think the feeding tube should be reinstated.
This is a very tough emotional, ethical, political issue. But you know she
is brain impaired, she is not brain-dead. And right now they're starving
her to death. They're dehydrating her to death, and that raises profound
ethical questions. That tube should be reinstated. She is not
brain-dead. She's brain impaired. It's not right to starve her to
death. That's not right ethically."
Thank you Dr. Jesse Jackson, MD. (Master of Disruption)
Terri Schiavo is going to pass on any day now and this story will (thankfully)
go away. However, the washed-up race warlord Jesse Jackson will be waiting
in the wings for the next big event, and you can bet he'll be right there,
desperately looking for a camera lens.
THE
RIGHT MAN FOR THE JOB
More evidence today that President Bush has nominated the right man to represent
us at the United Nations. When Bush named John Bolton to the UN post,
there was an emergency meeting of the Axis of Weasels expressing alarm at the
choice. The Euro-Weenies are none to happy with George Bush anyway, and
this made things no better. So what has the Euro-Weenies panties in a bunch?
Bolton has said some things not-nice (though true) about the
UN. He has said that you could lop off about 10 floors of the UN building
and it wouldn't make much difference. He has said there really isn't any
such thing as a United Nations (we wish), but rather just nations coming
together to decide what to do about certain issues. Well, there is further
evidence this morning that this nomination is a home run.
We learn today that 59 former American diplomats are urging the Senate to reject
John Bolton's nomination as UN ambassador. Most of these diplomats are
leftist appeasers left over from Democratic administrations, along with a few
Republicans in there. One of their biggest concerns is Bolton's
"insistence that the U.N. is valuable only when it directly serves the
United States."
Bolton is right...and the establishment can't stand it.
IRAQ
SECURE IN 18 MONTHS
There is more good news from Iraq. Despite the mainstream media's
determination to bury the good news, the situation in Iraq has turned around so
dramatically, it's nothing short of a miracle. Unfortunately, you are
unlikely to hear about it. Of course, you can't forget the template....it
is still in effect. Any news that's good for Bush is either ignored or
buried. We don't follow the establishment template at Nealz Nuze.
Iraq's outgoing interior minister says it may be possible to secure his country
in 18 months, and turn security over to the Iraqis. That would mean
Coalition forces could go home. There is also news that the insurgents may
be negotiating a surrender with the Iraqi government where they would lay down
their arms.
Pause for just a moment and think back two years. Operation Iraqi Freedom
was just underway. If you had told people that within two years, Saddam
Hussein would be caught, power handed over to an interim government and free
elections held....all with less than 2,000 casualties, people would have laughed
and said that was unrealistic.
Yet that very thing has happened, and the left calls it bad news.
