Did you know that Nancy Pelosi thinks that she and her fellow Democrats are ready to vote on a bill even though they don't know the price tag? The Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services does not believe that it can come up with a cost estimate for the bill before Saturday's vote. Eh .. not surprising. That's not what this is really about anyway, is it? This is about the government takeover of healthcare .. making you more dependent on government .. power. The price tag for your children and grandchildren isn't important.

Speaking of your children and grandchildren. The Cato Institute has done the research and it has determined that Obamacare could as much as double premium costs for young Americans (25-year-olds). And you thought this was all about making healthcare more affordable?

Now we have Illinois Senator Roland Burris. There's a waste of a Senate seat. He'll be gone soon, so maybe there will be an improvement. Burris was asked to specify which part of the Constitution authorizes Congress to implement an individual mandate on individuals to buy health insurance. Burris' answer? It is the responsibility of the federal government "to provide for the health, welfare and the defense of the country."

Here's the quote: "Well, that's under certainly the laws of the--protect the health, welfare of the country ... That's under the Constitution. We're not even dealing with any constitutionality here. Should we move in that direction? What does the Constitution say? To provide for the health, welfare and the defense of the country."

Well guess what? The word "health" does not appear in the Constitution. The guy is wrong. Rather than worrying about reading 2,000 page healthcare bills, Roland Burris and his Democrat buddies should try and refresh themselves on our Constitution - the foundations of this country and what make this country great.

Considering the crowd that showed up in Washington yesterday to oppose a government takeover of our healthcare system, House Minority Leader John Boehner says that a "rebellion" is forming in this country.

Kanjorski's brilliant idea is legislation within the next few weeks that will give the federal government the power to preemptively break up financial firms that it deems "too big to fail." We aren't talking about creating pools for bailout emergencies or "living wills" for institutions if they should fail. We are talking about the federal government having the power to decide when a company is too big, and using force to dismantle that private company.

Unfortunately, Kanjorski isn't alone. He has an ally in the House. And that ally happens to be a Republican. Actually ... no surprise there. The Republican Party has pretty much become a party of big government as well ... just not as big as fast. Alabama Republican Richard Shelby says that he like Kanjorski's idea. Yep. Shelby says that he supports having a federal regulator that would have the power to make financial firms "stronger or smaller" before they pose a threat to the economy.

Kanjorski is dismayed to point out that our Constitution limits the powers of the federal government. He describes those powers as "not clearly defined." He says that with his legislation, "we're going to be evident in the power." You know ... I thought the 10th Amendment was actually pretty clear on this. The federal government only has the powers specifically enumerated in that document. All other powers are reserved for the states or the people. How "not clearly defined is this"?

I hope you folks understand that today's Democrat Party views our Constitution as a nuisance. It stands in the way of their grand schemes for an American Society of Government. Ask Pelosi about the Constitutionality of her health care takeover and she screams "Are you serious?" Kanjorski talks about a Constitution that does not "clearly" define government power, and the White House dismisses the need for any

Elections have consequences. One year ago today you woke up to the reality of a president and a congress intent on relegating our Constitution to the "casual reading" section of your local Barnes and Noble.

You are going to love this. It's always fun when someone cries "racism" nowadays, because the word has been so incredibly watered down. It means absolutely nothing. It is a joke. And in this case, it is a labor union crying "racism!" Even more fun.

Here's the scenario. The Chamber of Commerce released an ad attacking Obamacare, explaining why it will be bad for America. The ad, which you can watch here, shows a boss who is distraught about having to fire an employee. As the boss calls the employee into his office, the camera pans to a shot of a black worker watching as his co-worker is called in to be fired.

Racist!

Yep. The AFL-CIO believes that this ad had racial overtones because it stereotypes the idea that minorities have an advantage in the workplace because of affirmative-action policies. A spokesman for the AFL-CIO says, "This is the same old right wing dog whistle politics ... They're trying to use race and class to scare working people about a health care bill."

You know, of course, that there is no way to win with this advertisement. Let's consider the possibilities:

1. Boss fires white guy as other white employees look on. AFL-CIO then issues press release saying that this commercial promotes the idea of a whites-only workplace and is, therefore, RACIST!
2. Boss fires black guy with white co-workers looking on. AFL-CIO then issues press release saying that this commercial promotes the idea that black workers are the least worthy and, therefore, the ones that should be fired first and is, therefore, RACIST!
3. Boss fires black guy while black co-workers look on. AFL-CIO then issues a press release saying that this commercial promotes the idea that black workers have poor personal health habits which will create a huge strain for employers leading to firings over ObamaCare and is, therefore RACIST!

The "R" word has become a joke. Since it's a joke it should be made fun of, derided and played with. People who scream "racism" with a straight face should be looked upon as demented. Also, the medical community should designate a special type of Tourette's Syndrome; one that identifies afflicted people who yell "racist" every third breath.
