Do you remember Sheriff Joe? Joe Arpaio of Maricopa County out in Arizona. He has been dubbed America's Sheriff. He has tent city and all that nonsense. Anyway, Sheriff Joe has been doing what the federal government fails to do when it comes to illegal aliens. And now, the federal government wants to make sure it doesn't happen anymore. Yep. The Department of Homeland Security has stripped Sheriff Joe of his authority to arrest illegal aliens solely based on the fact that they are in this country illegally. But, God love him, he says that he is going to continue doing it anyway.

And then we have Janet Napolitano ... clearly Barack Obama had a brain-fart when nominating her as head of Homeland Security. She announced this week plans to remove illegal aliens from prison and put them into converted hotels or nursing homes. It's being called "Alternatives to Detention" and includes the hotel option as well as actually releasing some illegal aliens and merely have them supervised by the government.

This is all a lead-in to complete amnesty for every illegal in this country right now - that is unless the congress can figure out a way to exclude illegals from European countries. That's not all though. As soon as they're legalized the looters will find a way to turn them into voters. Looter voters.

ILLEGAL IMMIGRANTS AND HEALTHCARE

The Democrats just can't figure out what they want out of a healthcare bill. This is pretty easy to understand, considering that this debate has nothing to do with healthcare and everything to do with power and egos. But that's another issue. But Barack Obama and the Democrats have been promising that their healthcare plans would exclude illegal immigrants.

Well some Democrats in the House are having doubts about this. They argue that any healthcare bill that passes should be extended to allow illegal immigrants some access. They say it is unfair to bar illegal immigrants from "paying their own way in a government-sponsored exchange." So if they can pay their own way, then they we should allow illegal immigrants into the government healthcare system.

Lesson? Don't believe anything these Democrats tell you about their healthcare plans. Every utterance is subject to change once they get their legislation passed. It's about control. Whatever they have to do to solidify that control is fair game.

A RAY OF HOPE

As we well know, California is in some deep horsesqueeze. They need to come up with some serious cash to balance the budget, and luckily Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger refuses to increase taxes. So his latest idea to save taxpayer money is to deport illegal immigrates in California jails. Wow! A sane and logical plan from government? The only question is .... why have they waited so long?

The proposal will supposedly save California more than $180 million. It plans to commute the sentences of thousands of illegal immigrants and turn them over to the Feds to be deported.

Something tells me that there will be a lot of panties in a wad over this one. Besides .. how long do you think it will take the illegals to get back across the border once they're sent home ... and they'll be out of jail and ready to commit more crimes! What a state!

The White House has officially declared a "public health emergency" because of this swine-flu pandemic. Here's the call from your drill instructor: "Mill around .. .MILL!" (Wonder how many people will get that.)

Is it just me, or are some people getting a little on the wild side about this. If you have a cough - swine flu. If you have an itch on your buttocks - swine flu. As of right now, there are 20 reported cases in the United States. California, Kansas, New York, Ohio and Texas have all reported cases. The whole thing started in Mexico, where it has killed 80 people and infected over 1,300. If the Mexicans are as successful in sending this bug north as they were in sending framers and sheet rock installers, we might be in for a spot of trouble.

Not to belittle this but ... ok, who am I kidding. Over 1,300 Mexicans have been infected with this swine flu out of a population of 109 million. So what percentage of the population are we talking? Something like .00001% of the population. And in the United States, that number is clearly smaller, considering that we have a population of over 306 million and there have been 20 reported cases. I'm just not in panic mode yet.

Either way, guess who is in charge of handling this situation? The acting head of the CDC and Nitwit Napolitano. That's because the Obama administration does not yet have a secretary of human services, a surgeon general or a director of the CDC. Instead of spending some time on these appointments Obama hit the golf course over the weekend. That's OK, though .. because he was briefed on the flu every hour. So Janet is in charge. She now has the chance to save face and recover from her major goof with the DHS report. That's IF she doesn't muck this up too.

As of now, the federal government is going to release 25% of its stockpile of Tamiflu and Relenza. Governor Rick Perry of Texas has requested for more than 37,000 doses of Tamiflu to be sent to his state. The liberals are giving him a hard time about that. They are calling him a "hypocrite," citing that just two weeks ago Rick Perry made mention of succession and now he is calling on the federal government for help in this flu pandemic. Yeah, that's about as braindead an argument as you could expect from a liberal.

In the meantime .... Wash your hands and don't kiss any illegals.

.... and keep it closed. The idea of closing the Mexican border has been brought up. New York Democrat Rep. Eric Massa is one of those people who suggested that the border should be closed until the threat is resolved.

Great idea. Why haven't we thought of that sooner? Why did it take a flu pandemic for this to seem like a logical idea? If we can get our butts in gear to close the border to protect ourselves from a flu infection, why can't we use half of that urgency to seriously arm and protect our borders from illegal aliens?

And in keeping with the theme of taxes .......

A new report being released today finds that millions of citizens and illegal aliens will apply for tax refunds that they don't deserve. I know you are shocked, right? The report's official title is The Earned Income Tax Credit and Illegal Immigration: A Study in Fraud, Abuse, and Liberal Activism, and it was conducted by financial analyst and economist Edwin Rubenstein.

Rubenstein found that the Earned Income Tax Credit is "the largest anti-poverty program in the United States -- and the most illegal-immigrant friendly." He found that about 30% of all Earned Income Tax Credit claims were improperly paid. That equates to about 6 to 7 million households and $12 to $14 billion in fraudulent payments. The Earned Income Tax Credit is "the most accessible of the major entitlement programs and used by more people than food stamps and welfare combined."

Those are your tax dollars.

AMNESTY FOR ILLEGALS --- AGAIN

Here we go again. At least George W. Bush and Barack Obama agree on this one.

Our economic downturn over the past year has certainly shown one thing. If you deny jobs to the illegals (the hell with this "undocumented" politically correct crap) they will head back from whence they came. As jobs have disappeared illegals have been heading back home. Now to the rational mind this would indicate that if we were to step up our enforcement at the job sites .. denying employment to people who are in this country illegally .. the problem would, for the most part, be self correcting.

Instead we have race pimps like Al Sharpton screaming "racial profiling" in Arizona and protests being staged against a Texas mayor who is demanding that all new employees hired in his city be screened for their immigration status. Oh ... and this stimulus bill? You do remember, don't you, that the Democrats refused to require that the federal e-verify program be used on projects paid for with stimulus money. That's the rule-of-law Democrats for you.

The New York Times is now reporting that President Obama is going to keep his campaign pledge - a pledge that got him the Hispanic vote -- to move forward on legal status for approximately 12 million criminal illegal aliens in this country. Yeah ... criminal. Ignore those absurd "we are not crooks" signs these illegals like to wave around. They violated the law when they came here. They violate the law when they stay here. They violate the law when they obtain jobs here. What do you need to define a criminal if breaking the law on multiple fronts isn't enough?

Think about this. (If you're a liberal, we'll use the word "imagine" instead of think.) We have millions of Americans out of work. The job market isn't exactly popping right now. And here comes the president with his wonderful idea of granting legal status to 12 million illegal, job-sucking aliens. Makes perfect sense, right?

STIMULUS MONEY TO MEXICO!

Try this: Google "money to Mexico." I got over 100,000 hits. Why? That would be because we have millions of illegal Mexican aliens in this country who send most of the money they earn back to their families in Mexico. Now there is something to be admired here. Consider the number of American deadbeat dads who spend money week after week on their cigarettes and beer but nothing for the children they've fathered along the way .. but I digress:

This money-to-Mexico thing is a big deal because of a little stunt our wonderful Democrat majority in congress pulled on us. We are fixin' to spend billions of dollars on various government contracts ... everything from building bridges to sniffing pig armpits. There will be billions spent on construction projects - and where you find construction projects you find illegals. Now there is a system out there whereby contractors can determine with some degree of certainty whether or not a job applicant is in this country legally. It's called "E-verify." This is an online system where you can compare information given you by the employee with various government databases. It's free. Its' also voluntary. Republicans wanted the government to require E-verify checks on people applying for jobs created with stimulus money. Democrats said "no way." Why? Because Democrats don't want to get in the way of Illegals scarfing down these jobs. After all .. these are potential voters, right? Remember - Democrats are behind movements in many states that would grant the privilege of casting a vote in local elections to non-citizens. How long before illegals are included? Democrats are also doing a bit of Hispandering to legal Hispanic citizens who like to see their voting power increased.

Now .. do you have any idea how much money illegals sent back to Mexico last year? Let's just put the number at somewhere over $20 billion. When, thanks to the Democrats, we put tens of thousands of illegals at work on taxpayer-funded stimulus construction projects you will see much of that money heading South to bolster the Mexican economy. Wonderful plan, don't you think?

Now ... having said all of this .. there are some advantages to putting illegal immigrants on the payroll for these construction jobs:

  1. First and foremost.. They're not union.
  2. Hispanics generally have a stronger work ethic
  3. Projects will be completed faster and more efficiently
  4. Increased sales for Rosetta Stone

That's just me ... always looking for the silver lining.

I told you about how the final stimulus bill does not include a provision that would force employers receiving stimulus money to use E-verify. In other words, they can hire illegal immigrants using your tax money as "economic stimulus" and send that money right back to Mexico, or Guatemala, or what have you.

There happens to be one man in the White House that helping their cause... Rahm Emanuel. You may remember that Obama's first legislative victory was passage of this SCHIP bill. And apparently Rahm Emanuel was the one who "cleared the path for increased benefits for legal immigrant children and pregnant women in the State Children's Health Insurance Program." The president of La Raza says that that the SCHIP bill would have never happened if it wasn't for Rahm, after he warned that the bill would not be signed without the immigration benefits. He even went as far as to say that "SCHIP can be viewed as a down payment on what will be forthcoming from the Obama administration."

And this move of the Census from the Commerce Department to the White House, it was only after Hispanic groups protested the fact that Judd Gregg was going to hurt their cause. And Rahm Emanuel was set to be the White House point person for the Census.

And then when it comes to this economic stimulus bill, the Politico reports, "Hispanics and business groups managed to delete from the final bill House language that would have forced employers receiving stimulus money to use E-Verify."

Illegals sending stimulus money out of the country. Still more change you can believe in.

VERDICT OF THE ARIZONA RANCHER CASE

The jury has spoken on this case in Texas. Roger Barnett is a rancher who owns 22,000 acres of private and leased land on the Arizona-Mexican border. When 16 illegal aliens came onto his property, he approached them with a gun and a dog, rounded them up and turned them over to the US Border Patrol.

Here comes to the Mexican American Legal Defense Education Fund, which sues Barnett for $32 million for civil rights violations and infliction of emotional distress.

Well you will be glad to know that the jury ruled that Barnett did not violate the "civil rights" of the illegal aliens. But .... the jury did award $78,000 in actual and punitive damages to six of the illegal aliens on claims of assault and emotional distress. Isn't that just wonderful? You defend your property and suddenly you're forking over big bucks because you caused some degree of emotional distress in the people you find trespassing.

As if we didn't have enough to talk about when it comes to this Democrat dream scheme .. otherwise known as the economic stimulus bill .. a top Republican Congressional official is claiming that illegal aliens would be eligible for the stimulus.

Part of the stimulus includes tax credits of $500 per worker and $1,000 per couple. But in order to receive these tax credits, you don't need a social security number. All you need is an individual taxpayer identification number in order to qualify.

According to Jamie Dupree, "millions of Americans who don't make enough money to pay federal income taxes could file returns next year and receive checks." Well of course! That's the point! This is a welfare program; a brand new entitlement program. You think this is just part of a one-time stimulus program? Hardly. Just how in the world do you think these Democrats are going to go back to their voters and tell them that their $1000 check was only a one-time deal. Not gonna happen. This $1000 welfare check is going to become a permanent part of our annual federal budget. What's more, every time an election comes around the Democrats are going to promise to increase the size of this phony "tax cut" while warning the voters that if they vote for evil Republicans they'll take that money away.

We're screwed.

When is it going to end, folks?

LAST MINUTE SURPRISE

Yesterday President Bush decided to commute the sentences of the two Border Patrol agents who were convicted of shooting a Mexican drug dealer. The shooting took place back in 2005. The agents shot admitted Mexican drug smuggler Osvaldo Aldrete Davila as he tried to cross the Rio Grande, abandoning a van full of marijuana. The agents say that they believed Davila to be armed and shot in self defense. Either way, the men were served with prison sentences longer than 10 years. They have already served two of those years.

During our Oval Office visit last week one talk show host, who shall remain unnamed (hint: It wasn't me) brought up the case of these two imprisoned agents. The president said that there was a process to be followed there, and that he was confident the host wasn't trying to circumvent that process. Talk about slinking back into your seat! For some reason the matter wasn't mentioned again during out visit.

While illegal immigration has taken a back seat to the election of Barack Obama, it still stands as one of the most vital issues when it comes to protecting our nation. GW really dropped the ball on this one. As did John McCain. And the Democrats won't be any better ....

But at least these two Border Patrol agents, who many argue were doing nothing but protecting the borders of this nation, will become productive members of society a little sooner. Keep in mind that Bush didn't pardon the men for their supposed crimes, he just commuted their sentences because he believed they were excessive. No kidding, even Osvaldo Aldrete Davila the drug smuggler was sentenced to less time in jail than the Border Patrol agents.

BORDER PATROL FAIL

Our border patrol agents are no match for the flood of illegals they encounter.

Here's the story we've been discussing on the air this morning about an Lorenzo Jimenez, an illegal immigrant with his house in his daughter's name. When a deal to sell the house failed, the buyer outed him as an illegal alien to his employer, the police, the FBI, and more. What are your thoughts on this case? Hey, you can actually leave them in the comments! If you didn't hear me this morning, I actually have compassion for Jimenez. Shocking, I know!

Here's a video from our local TV station covering the story.
