BOWING TO THE EMPEROR

You saw it, didn't you? Barack Obama damned near bounced forehead off the floor when he met the Emperor of Japan. That's how deep his bow was. Obama does the same thing for Saudi princes. With the Emperor Obama didn't just dip his head .. he bent 90 degrees at the waist. Some protocol experts say that a deep, 90 degree bow represents a humble apology for some sort of a transgression. Don't know if Obama is smart enough to know that ... but it's worth considering.

In the meantime ... when Clinton was in office he, too, met the Emperor. Clinton dipped ever-so-slightly at the waist, and The New York Times gave him hell. The times said it was inappropriate for a President of the United States to bow before a foreign leader. Let's all hold our collective breaths while we wait for the Times to take America's Dear Leader to task on this one.

HUGO TO THE RESCUE

The mad mullahs of Iran are well on their way to building nuclear arms and the best that we can do right now is writing nasty notes and threatening sanctions.  Did you know that Iran is the fourth-largest exporter of crude oil but the country cannot meet its own domestic oil needs?  So it has to import refined oil products.  And as of right now, much of that gasoline comes from the United States.  But if these sanctions go into place, Iran already has a backup plan - Venezuela.  Yep.  Hugo the Horrible has already pledged to export gas to Iran in order to help Iran survive American sanctions.

So now that we know these sanctions aren't going to affect Iran ...... your move President Obama.  How about a blockade?

According to a new poll, the United States is the most admired country in the world. And who do we have to thank for that? The star power of Barack Obama and his administration. That is according to the Nation Brand Index.

The US climbed from seventh place last year. Other nations near the top include France, Germany, the UK and Japan.

The found of the NBI just can't believe how quickly the US shot back up to number one, and he assumes this all has to do with Barack Obama: "What's really remarkable is that in all my years studying national reputation, I have never seen any country experience such a dramatic change in its standing as we see for the United States for 2009."

This one is not too hard to figure out. We go back to the Pew Research poll conducted in Europe in 2008. That poll showed that nearly 60% of Europeans wanted the United States to be weaker. They didn't like the US being as strong in economic and worldwide political affairs as we were. Soooooo ... along comes Barack Obama, and at every turn he projects American weakness. He trashes the European missile defense system. He kowtows to Russia's Putin. He absolutely fails to take a strong stance on Iran and their nuclear ambitions. He disengages from Iraq and continues to show indecisiveness in Afghanistan. The shrinks at the sight of Hugo Chavez. He won't meet with the Dalai Lama because it might make the Chinese mad. Weakness at every turn ... just exactly what the respondents to the poll said they wanted! A weaker United States!

So now our popularity in Europe is on the way up! Really tough to figure out why, isn't it?

By the way ... for those of you who think Obama is absolutely right in pulling America back from international strength and leadership: Some country out there is going to dominate the world militarily. Some country is going to dominate the world economically. Many of you don't want the United States to be that country. OK, fine. Then do tell us which country you want to fill that role? No hedging here. Some country is going to dominate ... and if you don't want our country to be the one, which country do you chose?

Maybe the United Nations?

I THOUGHT THE WAR ON TERROR WAS OVER?

National security has resurfaced in the news lately for a lot of reasons.

Number one: Congress is on vacation.

Number two: Eric Holder decided that it would be a wise idea to investigate CIA interrogators for their role in terrorist interrogations.

Number three: the moonbats need something to sink their teeth into.

Number four: it has been a violent couple of months for the troops in Afghanistan. Number five: we are approaching the anniversary of September 11th.

Now if you will recall, the Obama administration declared that we are no longer fighting a war on terror. That phrase was removed from the White House lexicon along with "jihad" and others that may insinuate the hateful ideology of Islam. In fact, there is no more Islamic terrorism. The phrase now is "man-caused disasters." And the war against these Islamic goons is now our "overseas contingency operation."

Well somebody needs to inform White House Press Secretary Robert Gibbs. He must have been sick the day that this memo was released, because yesterday Robert Gibbs actually used the phrase "war on terror" during his daily press conference. Hard to fight a war when you can't call it like it is, isn't it?

Now Robert Gibbs also had a few things to say to Dick Cheney. Cheney has been very vocal about the administration's decision to investigate terrorist interrogators. Cheney said that this is a purely political act, "It's an outrageous political act that will do great damage, long-term, to our capacity to be able to have people take on difficult jobs, make difficult decisions, without having to worry about what the next administration is going to say." Robert Gibbs chalked up Cheney's criticism to nothing short of "typical" and "unfounded." He says, "I'm not entirely sure that Dick Cheney's predictions on foreign policy have borne a whole lot of fruit over the last eight years in a way that has been either positive or, to the best of my recollection, very correct."

Seems like these guys need to get out of a spitting match and start focusing on the real enemy.

So yesterday I Tweeted the question: Think Bill Clinton will get any NK strange while he's there? Well .. he may not have gotten any strange, but he did manage to get Kim Jong Il to issue a "special pardon" for OwlGore's jailed journalists. At first, we were told that Clinton went on a personal trip. We all knew that was horsesqueeze. It turns out that the Obama administration did in fact ask Clinton to go and negotiate with the Gargoyle.

The ransom was paid. What was the ransom? The legitimization of Kim John Ill through a visit by a former U.S. President. Next up? Iran?

Let's go International ... to Honduras. You know that the government of Honduras threw out their president. It seems that he wanted to conduct an illegal referendum that would have allowed him to avoid constitutional term limits. You probably don't know, but under the Honduran constitution, Zelaya's actions constituted treason. Oddly enough, or perhaps not so oddly, our own Barack Obama is solidly behind the deposed president. So are Fidel Castro and Hugo Chavez. Rather good company, don't you think?

Anyway .. there are reports that the results of that illegal referendum are now known! How could the results be known when the referendum never took place? Well, that would be because the results of the non-existent referendum were found on Zelaya's computer! And guess what? It was a landslide for Zelaya's idea of eliminating term limits? That's right! On the deposed president's computer were the results of an election that never took place. Obama is real good at choosing friends, don't you think?

Who woulda thunk it?

OBAMA MORE THAN 'CONCERNED'

North Korea launches a missile and it takes Barack Obama and the UN five days to respond. Iran holds fraudulent elections, kills protesters and it takes weeks before Barack Obama can stand up and say that he is "concerned" about the situation.

Then the people of Honduras try to uphold their constitution and laws of the land from being trampled by a Chavez-wanna be ... and it takes Barack Obama one day to proclaim that this was not a legal coup.

Why the sudden decisiveness? Where were these strong opinions on foreign matters when Iranian authorities were trampling protestors and cutting off media access to the outside world? Where was this decisiveness when Kim Jong Ill decided that he was going to launch missiles toward Hawaii on the Fourth of July? Why ... NOW ... is Obama suddenly speaking out loudly

How about a little background. Are you really sure you know what has been going on in Honduras? Do you think that this was simply a coup? Let me give you a rough outline here, and then you can sit back and wonder just why PrezBO is in the weeds with Chavez and Castro on this one.

Mel Zelaya is, or was, the President of Honduras. He and Hugo Chaves were tight. So tight, it seems, that Zelaya wanted to emulate Hugo by changing the Honduran constitution to allow him to run for office until he durned well gets tired of it.

To change the constitution in Honduras you have to convene a constituent assembly. The president cannot do that. The Honduran congress must approve a national referendum calling for the constituent assembly to consider changes to the constitution. Zelaya didn't like the part about the constitution requiring approval of the congress before a national referendum could be called. So ... he decided to call one on his own.

OK .. so here we have President Zelaya calling for a national referendum when he doesn't have the power to do so. The next problem is obtaining ballots! Since the Honduran congress had not called for the referendum, as required by the constitution, the government certainly wasn't going to print the ballots! After all, how smart would it be to print ballots for an illegal referendum? So ... Zelaya had to get the ballots printed elsewhere. Here's an idea! Get his pall Hugo Chavez to print them! Yes! That will work!

So Chaves prints Zelaya's ballots and they're shipped to Honduras. Enter the Honduran Supreme Court. The court considers Zelaya's election in light of the requirements of the Honduran constitution, and rules the referendum illegal and unconstitutional. The court then issues an order to the Honduran military telling them not to do the logistical work associated with Zelaya's phony referendum. Remember, now ... all of this has one primary goal. To get rid of the term limits limiting Zelaya's rule in Honduras.

After the supreme court's decision, General Romeo Velasquez tells President Zelaya that he is subject to a proper order from the Supreme Court and will not be able to carry out Zelaya's referendum. So ... Zelaya fires him. The Supreme Court orders Zelaya to reinstate Velasquez, and Zelaya refuses to do so.

At this point Zelaya's ego is getting the better of him. If the military won't run his illegal referendum, he'll just do it himself. He gins up a mob and leads them to the military compound where Hugo's ballots are stored and then has his supporters begin distributing the ballots to the masses.

Based on the Supreme Court's ruling the Honduran attorney general said that the proposed referendum was illegal and said that he would arrest anyone attempting to carry out the election. Zelaya was arrested by the military and was escorted out of the country.

Now ... does this sound like a military coup-de-etat to you? The attorney general and the military were operating in accordance with the Honduran rule of law. They acted under a valid court order. Coup? The Honduran congress has convened and designated a successor president, all in accordance with the Honduran Constitution. Military coup? The presidential elections set for November .. the election that Zelaya was trying to get around ... will go on as scheduled. A blow for democracy?

Fidel Castro, Daniel Noriega, Hugo Chavez ... all on the side of Zelaya. But Obama? Obama fighting against the rule of law and for a wannabe dictator? What gives?

The situation in Iran is not letting up. We've got people in jail, protestors being shot to death, a fraudulent election in the hands of a regime on the verge of obtaining a nuclear weapon. All of this and the best that our White House Press Secretary can come up with is the fact that Barack Obama ... the leader of the free world ... has been "moved" by the protests in Iran.

Moved? Moved? Well I'm so glad he's moved. People are fighting for their freedom, and Obama is moved. That's just so special. I'm moved that he's moved? Are you moved? Yup ... we're all moved. It's so nice to be moved on a Tuesday morning.

STEPPING UP ON IRAN

President Obama finally decided to issue a statement over the weekend about the fake election and subsequent repression of protestors in Iran. Here's what the president had to say:

The Iranian government must understand that the world is watching. We mourn each and every innocent life that is lost. We call on the Iranian government to stop all violent and unjust actions against its own people. The universal rights to assembly and free speech must be respected, and the United States stands with all who seek to exercise those rights.

As I said in Cairo, suppressing ideas never succeeds in making them go away. The Iranian people will ultimately judge the actions of their own government. If the Iranian government seeks the respect of the international community, it must respect the dignity of its own people and govern through consent, not coercion.

Martin Luther King once said - "The arc of the moral universe is long, but it bends toward justice." I believe that. The international community believes that. And right now, we are bearing witness to the Iranian peoples' belief in that truth, and we will continue to bear witness.

What do you think? Too little, too late? Iranian authorities have arrested 24 journalists, and at least 17 people have been killed in protest. This is really all that Obama can come up with? I never thought I'd say this, but I'm sticking with France on this one. French President Sarkozy came out with a statement a week ago about the situation. That's right .. Sarkozy didn't munch snails for a week trying to figure out what to do. He knew what was right, and voiced it immediately. He said that he "condemned the violence directed at demonstrators, the arrest of opposition members and political figures, restrictions on public liberties, freedom of expression and communication and the constraints imposed on Iranian and foreign nationals." Now we have France's Foreign Minister condemning "this brutal repression."

Not that Obama's words are going to make a difference ... but at least the world knows where the United States stands ...... sort of.

GARGOYLE GONE BERSERK PART II

The Gargoyle has truly lost it, folks. Are you paying attention to all of this? According to Japanese intelligence officers, North Korea may launch a long-range ballistic missile towards Hawaii. Not only that ... but this crazy bastard says he's going to launch that missile on July 4th, our Independence Day. Nice touch, don't you think?

Can the Gargoyle's missile reach Hawaii? Prolly not. The main Hawaiian islands are 4,500 miles from North Korea. These Taepoodung-2 missiles are capable of traveling up to 4,000. But that's not really the point, is it? If they're intentionally aimed at Hawaii that pretty much puts the foam on the latte for me.

What are going to do? Defense Secretary Robert Gates has ordered the military to take defensive measures if North Korea launches that missile toward Hawaii. Gates says, "I think we are in a good position, should it become necessary, to protect American territory."

OK .. hold on just a goll-durned minute here. "Good position?" You know, somehow I was looking for a bit more than that. How about "can?" I want to hear that we CAN protect American territory. Last time I looked we had the greatest, most powerful military in the world. I know we elected Obama for change .. but I didn't want to see us change from a position where we "can" protect our interests (like our 50th state) to where we're in a "good position" to do so

Meanwhile, in the middle of this provocation the North Korean menace has warned of a "thousand-fold" military retaliation again the US and our allies if provoked. So here's your Playbill. This twerp says he's going to fire off a missile towards Hawaii, and he then warns us of the dangers that wait if we dare to provoke him.

You need to remember something here folks. The last time Li'l Satan fired off a missile the very next day ... and I'm talking with 24 hours my friends ... Mr. Change You Can Believe in announced a reduction in funding for our missile defense system. Even if you're government educated you can figure out just what sort of message that sent to this North Korean prepuce.

Let's talk about this 4th of July thing a bit more. I'll bet you that more Americans have their panties in a wad about their local government canceling their fireworks show than they do about this situation with North Korea; or, for that matter, with the level of government spending in Washington. Then there's Obama's newfound power to nationalize private companies. To most Americans, freedom means the ability to choose which movie to watch on a Friday night and which magazine they should buy at the grocery store - US Weekly or People. That is the pathetic excuse for the type of freedom these people now claim to celebrate once a year. Yeah, I know I'm a bit early for the Fourth of July rant .......... Stay tuned.

WHAT DO YOU SAY, MR. PRESIDENT?

Yesterday the protests in Iran turned deadly. Pro-government militia opened fire on protestors in Tehran killing one man and wounding others. That really makes you believe that this election was open and honest, doesn't it?

In the meantime ... what is our President saying? Has he really taken a side in this? You either support Ahmadinejad and tell the world that you believe his election was valid, or you express your doubts and thrown some moral support to the people of Iran who are protesting. So, PrezBO, which way is it? Then, on the other hand, you can just sit around and say nothing. That seems to be the tact. Obama's silence on the situation in Iran has been deafening. All we can get from the White House is the fact that the United States is "deeply troubled."

Deeply troubled. Oh .. you mean like Americans are deeply troubled about your spending? Like Americans are deeply troubled that you're not running Government Motors? Oh .... I see.

Well, Mr. President, when you feel like you can take a principled stand on this one just let us know.

WHAT TO DO ABOUT NORTH KOREA

While we are on the subject of loony dictators, let's talk about North Korea.  Last week, the UN drafted up harsher sanctions against North Korea in the wake of its latest missile launch.  As a result, North Korea says that it plans to "weaponize" all of its plutonium.  By the way, it has enough plutonium to make at least half a dozen atomic bombs.  Not only that, but the Foreign Ministry of North Korea threatened any country that stopped its ships on the high seas, which is part of the latest UN sanctions.

Tough spot.  I'm not pleased with the man we have in office who's job it is to deal with this mess ... but I am empathetic.  There are some tough decisions to be made in the coming weeks and months.  Those decisions will either strengthen or weaken our country.  The world wants a weaker America.  Let's hope Barack Obama soon remembers that he's the President of the United States first, and a citizen of the world second.

THE GARGOYLE GOES BERSERK

The Gargoyle in North Korea is apparently preparing to launch new missiles. Here we go .... again. What new stern language will the UN come up with this time to castigate Kim Jong Il?

Aren't you glad you aren't Barack Obama right now? Remember the last time this dangerous fool launched a missile? The very next day Obama announced that we were going to curtail work on a missile defense system. Now that's showing strength, isn't it? This menace test a missile that could carry a nuclear warhead, and our defender, our President, stands up and says "Oh, by the way, we're not going to spend all that money on missiles launched by midget menaces from North Korea."

In light of Obama's stance, it's rather odd that Defense Secretary Robert Gates says that the United States can shoot down any missile that is fired our way. With what? That program Obama is eliminating? Gee, that is comforting. How about China ... does it have the "high probability" of being able to defend itself?

This Kim Jong Il character is a loon, folks. He's a loon with nukes. This is not the type of guy you want with his finger on the trigger. He is training his son to take his place. I assume that the nut doesn't fall far from the tree.

NORTH KOREA FINALLY RESPONDS

After North Korea launched a test missile a few weeks ago, it took a while before any president or world body said anything about it. But finally, the United Nations did get around to sending a stern letter to North Korea. You know how those are taken seriously.

So now the country has decided to respond to the UN Security Council. The response is probably what you would expect: To hell with you, we are going to conduct a nuclear test and fire more ballistic missiles.

Great. That seemed to work out real well.

Not only that, but North Korea is demanding that the UN apologize for having "infringed the sovereignty of [North Korea] and withdraw all its unreasonable and discriminative 'resolutions' and decisions adopted against [North Korea]."

North Korea's response is, I believe, a direct result of the weakness the United States showed when they launched their missile. Not only did we not shoot the thing out of the sky ... orders came from somewhere to our military that the Navy was forbidden from using its most sophisticated radar technology in tracking the missile.

I can't shake that poll of Europeans last year where we learned that 58% of Europeans wanted a weaker America. Barack Obama is giving Europe exactly what it asked for. The North Korean gargoyle is taking advantage.

Since Neal's not here today, (he and Royal are taking a day of vacation to play in a charity golf tournament), he's decided to hand over the reins to his staff. So here are some thoughts from associate producer Cristina "Precious" "Pumpkin" Gonzalez...

Latin America is a region that has largely been ignored by Washington for quite some time. Bill Clinton wasn't all that popular with our neighbors to the south. And while there was a glimmer of hope for George Bush, September 11th pretty much changed everything .. including a focus on rebuilding relations with Latin America. And when it comes to Barack Obama, they are hoping to capitalize on his star-power, play into his leftist sympathies, and emphasize his weakness on the world stage. This is the America they have been waiting for.

This recent gathering of 34 nations of the Americas turned into nothing short of a Latin American bitch-fest. Sorry. There is no other way to say it. And Barack Obama just sat there and took it. Let's do a little recap of Obama's visit to the Fifth Summit of the Americas in Trinidad and Tobago:

-The first leftist thug up to bat was the president of Bolivia Evo Morales. He took this occasion to accuse the United States of orchestrating a plot to assassinate him. That's always a good way to start things off ... being put on the defensive by an anti-capitalist, radical socialist. We are talking about a man whose first order of business was to hang a portrait of Che Guevara in his presidential suite. Seriously.

-It wouldn't be a socialist slug-fest without Hugo the Horrible. Venezuela's Hugo Chavez had two magical moments with Obama. The first would be the infamous hand shake. Did you see the pictures? It was more the handshake between two pals about to play a backyard game of basketball, rather than an exchange between two radically differing nations. I mean, where do you start with this thug? Just a few months ago, he called Barack Obama an ignoramus. A few years ago, he called President Bush "the devil." We are talking about a guy who believes there is more democracy in Cuba than there is in the United States. (Even though the US technically isn't a democracy .. but you catch my drift.) Not to mention his shenanigans with Russia and Iran. Oh and then there is the tiny fact that he has nationalized virtually every industry in his country. But hey, if Barack Obama wants to pal around with Hugo like they are new-found friends .. I just hope he realizes the message he is sending around the world. At least he didn't bow to the guy like he did just a few weeks ago with the King of Saudi Arabia. But are you starting to see the picture here? Just think about the messages Obama has sent within the past few weeks .. how do you think he is making America look on the world stage?

-And since Obama and Hugo are now buds, Chavez decided that he wanted to present Obama with a token of his love. He couldn't have waited until after the summit. Or sent it with a Christmas card. Sitting at the table during talks, Chavez thought that it would be a great time to walk over and publically present Obama with a copy of Eduardo Galeano's The Open Veins of Latin America; Five Centuries of the Pillage of a Continent. This is the Latin American Bible explaining why capitalism and countries, like the United States, are responsible for the state of Latin America. Clearly, this was a symbolic move to undermine the president and the United States. How can Hugo get away with this? Because he knows that Obama won't do a darn thing about it. Hugo knows he can impress his tyrant friends by pulling a little stunt like this. Hugo and Fidel and Putin had a conference call later that day where they sat around smoking cigars and snickering.

-Perhaps the most embarrassing moment was the 50-minute diatribe Obama endured from Nicaraguan President Daniel Ortega. Do the Sandinistas and the Contras ring a bell? Yep .. he's baaaack. Ortega was re-elected in 2006, and he took this opportunity to get a few things off his chest. I can sum it up for you pretty quickly: capitalism is evil and the US is responsible for the plight of the Americas. He used phrases like "terroristic US aggression" and "suffocating US economic policies." He describes Cuba as a country "whose crime has been that of fighting for independence, fighting for sovereignty of the peoples." And rather than stand up for his country, Obama simply thanked Ortega for not blaming him personally for things that happened when Obama was young. That's it?? Poor Ronald Reagan is rolling in his grave.

So what can we conclude from all of this? This was nothing more than a political photo-op for Latin American leaders, and a chance for them to roast America for their perceived history of neglect and abuse. I say photo-op because Barack Obama is extremely popular with the Latin American people. That's why these Latin American leaders made a point to deride America, but not Obama .. they know that having Obama on their side will only boost their own popularity. He is a pawn, folks. He is being used to boost personal popularity. Meanwhile, Obama's "listen and learn" approach gives them the luxury to hate on America in a way that makes them look stronger and America weaker.

AND THEN THERE IS CUBA

More thoughts from associate producer Cristina "Precious" "Pumpkin" Gonzalez...

There seemed to be one giant Communist elephant in the room during this summit .. the fact that Cuba was not participating. While the topic of US-Cuban relations was not even on the agenda, Latin American leaders made it a point to go there anyway. And their position was clear: America needs to lift the embargo.

I've got bad news for Latin America .. you aren't going to get what you want. Look, I will be the first to tell you that our relationship with Cuba needs to change. I'll spare you the arduous details right now, but there are 500 steps that come before an all out lifting of the embargo. What you need to remember is that Cuba is a communist nation. That sounds like a plebian statement, but it really does change the playing field. You are dealing with a country that owns the means of production. Thus, any change in economic policy only further legitimizes and helps the Cuban government, not the Cuban people. As of right now, almost every Cuban works for the government. They earn a whopping $19.70 a month. Even if you open up trade, what makes you believe that these living standards are going to change under a Communist regime? The answer is that they are not. That is why we have a long long way to go before lifting the embargo is even possible.

Take for instance the few steps Obama has taken just within the last week. He lifted all travel limits for Cuban-Americans to Cuba. He also ended restrictions on how much money Cuban- Americans can send family members in Cuba. On the surface, sounds great. Right? Did you also know that when money is wired to relatives in Cuba, the Cuban government gets a 20% cut of that money? This is a huge boost to the Cuban economy. Get this .. in 2007 the amount of cash sent to Cuba was equal to 42% of the island's tourism income and 4.7 times more than its sugar exports.

Luckily, Raul Castro says that he is willing to discuss "everything" with Barack Obama including human rights, political prisoners and freedom of the press. That doesn't mean that he will end oppression of the Cuban people who are treated as second-class citizens compared to foreigners. That doesn't mean he will release librarians and journalists and political dissidents whom are currently held as political prisoners. That doesn't mean that he is going to allow Cubans to own their own businesses. Foreigners are a different story - but, again, their investments benefit the government of Cuba .. not the people.

While Raul promises to "discuss," he has done quite a good job of consolidating his own power, purging his government of younger people who would be more sympathetic to the idea of a democratic transition. He has replaced them with generals from the armed forces who have been ordered to implement new laws to "perfect business." On the surface, it seems promising because this includes the adoption of capitalist management, but there is one gaping hole: privatization. The Cuban people will not benefit from seemingly capitalistic changes.

Overwhelmed? Yeah, there's a lot to chew on here. You can probably tell that as a first generation Cuban-American, this hits close to home. (Don't tell Neal that I used a hyphenated Americanism!) But what we have learned from Obama's summit in Trinidad is that he really has no clue what is going on. He may be Latin America's star pupil because of his willingness to "listen and learn," but are these dictators and leftists really the people Obama needs to be learning from?

The answer is a resounding no.

WEAKNESS OR STRENGTH

The United States tells them not to do it. The useless United Nations tells them not to do it. They do it. It has been five days since North Korea launched a missile capable of reaching Hawaii. What is America's response? What is the international response? The silence is deafening. What are we showing here? Weakness or strength?

The mad man that runs Iran is bragging that they now have 7000 centrifuges up and running making enriched nuclear weapons-grade fuel. He also brags that they have developed a technology that enhances the enrichment progress. At the same time the Iranian president continues to say that Israel's days are limited. In the meantime Vice President Joe Biden warns Israel that they had better not even think about attacking Iran. No strong warning to Iran. What are we projecting here, strength or weakness?

The Islamic pirates continue to hold an American hostage off the coast of Somalia. We're talking, not acting. So far I have not heard about any search for the pirate mother ship and there's no talk of blockading Somalian ports. The pirates may well end up with millions of dollars and safe passage to Somalia where they will release their American hostage. Strength or weakness?

The American the ragtag Islamic pirates are holding tried to escape. He dove out of the boat and into the water and tried to get away. Our Navy was standing off and not close enough to help him. The Islamic pirates overtook him and took him into custody again. This man tried to escape in full view of American forces. They were either unable or unwilling to help him. Perhaps the American Captain thought that when he was out of the pirate's boat the Navy would blow them away. Didn't happen. Strength or Weakness?

America - once strong, now cowering.

Change you can believe in?

BOW OR NO BOW?

Ever since Barack Obama's visit to Europe, there has been a lot of talk over "the bow." Have you heard about this? Obama met Saudi Arabian King Abdullah at the G-20 meeting in London. When Obama met the guy, he seemed to do some sort of bow.

And this has sparked outrage from the right. Praise from the Muslim world. And a lot of people left in the middle saying "who the hell gives a flying flip."

But there are pictures of Barack Obama doing his bow, non-bow, whatever you want to call it. So you can judge for yourself. But the White House has decided to respond to critics by saying that Barack Obama did not bow to King Abdullah. Their explanation is that Obama grasped King Abdullah with two hands but he is taller than the King therefore he had to lean over.

That, my friends, is nonsense. I've watched the video time after time. This wasn't a double gripped handshake, this was a bow. There's no question. Now you go ahead and figure out for yourself what this means ... but the President of the United States bowed deeply to the leader of a country that is a prime player in the generation of Islamic hatred toward the United States. Hatred and violence.

A sign of weakness? ANOTHER sign of weakness? Now what do you think?

IS CHENEY REALLY 'DEAD WRONG'?

Joe Biden had some harsh words for his predecessor Dick Cheney. Not only was Cheney wrong when he said that Barack Obama's policies were making America less safe ... but he was "dead wrong."

Okay, Joe. Tell me how. Tell me what policies Obama has put in place or a decision he has made that has made our country a safer place. Judging by Obama's response - or lack thereof - to North Korea's missile launch ... or the plan to cut military funding ... and his latest apology tour in Europe ... tell me how our country is more safe.

Biden said, "I don't think he is out of line, but he is dead wrong. ... The last administration left us in a weaker posture than we've been any time since World War II: less regarded in the world, stretched more thinly than we ever have been in the past, two wars under way, virtually no respect in entire parts of the world ... And so we've been about the business of repairing and strengthening those. I guarantee you we are safer today, our interests are more secure today than they were any time during the eight years" of the Bush administration.

Biden certainly hasn't lost his penchant for BS. We've gone over this. North Korea says they're going to launch a missile in violation of international sanctions. We tell North Korea not to do it, but if they do we aren't going to do anything about it. North Korea launches the missile .. and true to our word we do nothing. Oh ... we do ask the United Nations to act, but that's it. The very next day we announce huge cutbacks in military spending, including, amazingly enough, cutbacks in spending on a missile defense system. Then BS Biden says we're safer now than we ever were under Bush?

Only the illogical mind of a liberal could buy this.
