"When plunder becomes a way of life for a group of men living together in society, they create for themselves in the course of time a legal system that authorizes it and a moral code that justifies it."

There is no doubt that the absolute #1 issue on people's minds right now is the economy ... and, as we've just pointed out ... that little issue of jobs. That was a gimme. But what rates after that in terms of the problems facing our countries? A recent Gallup poll found that Americans now believe that government and politicians are bigger problems for the country than illegal immigration, health care, disaster response or even the federal debt.

They're right. Politicians. Government. These people are the problem .. they are not the solution, nor, for the most part, do they have the solutions. The problem is that these politicians have the executive power of government to enforce their "policies" and "solutions" on the people. And it takes a really large, huge ego to even run for office, let alone serve in Washington. So these big egos are going to use their precious government police power to implement policies that will get THEM the credit for trying to create jobs. Their egos are so overblown that they find it impossible to believe that someone else out there - an entrepreneur, a business owner, an investor - could do a better job of creating job than them .. after all, they were elected by the people to go to Washington and solve their problems! But that leads back to the Gallup poll .. these politicians are so full of themselves that they can't even realize that THEY are the problem. They are so set on being the ones to get the credit for saving this economy that they are willing to let businesses and worker suffer, just so they can say they tried. If they succeeded, that would be great. But they aren't. So move over, get out of the way and let the private sector do what the private sector does best!

What others are saying

  • Still pretending you support everyone's freedom of speech Thomas?
    ..
  • Must of hit the nail on the head.
Your idiot closeminded cheerleaders are in full force.
  • To Thomas
Well aren't you just the pot calling the kettle black. Make a real comment next time, won't you? He did offer a solution - let the private sector do what the private sector does best. What about that didn't you get? I think you are a great example of a sheep. Stop drinking the cool-aide already. I would like to request the addition of another question in the Gallup poll - Who's the next biggest problem the nation is facing? Answer - all the Thomas' who put Messiah and his cronies in power. Please do us all a favor and stay home in 2012.
  • #1 Thomas's rant
Thomas: Very substantive and precise rebutal. "Simple-minded", "fanaticism", "sheep", "cowardly", "pathetic".
Has anyone ever actually learned something listening to a liberal?
  • Meltdown
Thomas, are you having a meltdown? You are clearly living in a dream world if you think the biggest problem is talk radio. Its time to wakeup and look around. The country is getting worse and you are part of the problem. You and other liberal-socialists like you are ruining our country. The current marxist in chief is leading us into bankruptcy and people like you are blindly cheering him on. Read your history and see what happens when the entire economy collapses. It isn't pretty and all your precious social programs will fall apart as well. Put down the koolaid and sober up.

  • Koolaid addicts
So the biggest problem is talk radio? Right. I guess talk radio is why we are so deep in debt. Or maybe its talk radio's fault for the unemployment problem? Or maybe talk radio is what's pushing the ever expanding gov't programs? Yeah, lets not pay attention to what's going on in D.C., instead lets focus on those talk radio hosts. I think we know who the sheep are, they are the socialists who want the gov't to take over every aspect of their lives. They are the ones who think "spreading the wealth around" is a good thing, as long as its not their wealth. The real problem is those people who still think these socialist democrats actually care about this country. You have to be willfully blind to not see the damage these people are doing to our country.
  • No, the biggest problem is YOU, Thomas...
...and all your liberal socialist friends who do nothing to strengthen our country and everything to weaken it. You make decisions based on feelings, instead of logic and you fail to learn from history, because it doesn't "feel" right.

You and your ilk are mindless thugs who destroy the fabric of society, while blaming everyone else for the problems you create.
  • Biggest problem is YOU Neal
The biggest problem is Talk Radio and the propaganda and rhetoric you peddle to your simple minded audience. The biggest problem is that you don't offer anything good, but can only divide and instill false patriotism to the point of fanaticism. You THRIVE on the problems, and never offer any real solutions. "Hey sheep audience! Buy my book telling you how the Democrats and Liberals are RUINING this country! Hey sheep audience! Listen to me say the most outrageous things about what those evil liberals are doing! Hey sheep audience! Let me make up strawmen untrue arguments about what those evil Democrats are doing and then refute them! I can't honestly debate in REAL life because of all that "gotcha journalism" out there like facts and stuff like reality, so you keep listening to my cowardly ass here safely behind my radio mic! I can't talk about abortion because that pesky thing called reality came a knocking one day a long time ago and I had to make a very hard decision which goes against my party line."

You are pathetic. You are a disgrace to humanity and all it stands for Neal.
  • Bigger problem
The natural gas companies are polluting our water in order to provide us with cheap "clean" natural gas.

Think things are bad now? Wait till you have to buy drinking water. Think you're going to get water cheap when you have to have it? And you thought gas was expensive.
Every time the gas people "frack" a well, they poison more of our water.
  • jist a reminder.......................
    have I said this before?????

    POLITICIANS ARE SCUM!!!
  • Most disturbing
What is most disturbing in the absolute arrogance of the Politicians in power. These people like Dodd, Pelosi, Reed, and their Messiah act more like the people they despise than the people they despise do.

A good book to read, whether you are a liberal or conservative is George Orwell's "Animal Farm". The politicians today remind me of the pigs so much.
  • The Problem...
As was said is essentially us. We stomp and complain left and right yet the same idiots are elected time and again. This goes from the local all the way up to the federal level. This is what happens when you have such rampant voter apathy. Start taking an active role in politics, which affect your life more than any celebutard ever will, and things could be so much better.
  • Life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness
The politician's primary responsibility should be to protect the freedom of it's citizens.
Some may ask what freedoms have we lost since Obama was elected-
Well, any socialist agenda requires the government to steal from one citizen to give to another.
Freedom to keep what you earn is sacrificed on the altar of "The Greater Good" as defined by Obama and the democrats.
ObamaCare, Cap and Trade, the federal debt, payoff to the unions, endless foreign wars, etc., are being financed by productive citizens and stealing their freedom (liberty), not to mention their pursuit of happiness.
  • Dale Dumbrick
    And the Liberal Solution is??
    cricket cricket cricket
  • Big Gov't
I saw those new tag scanners on some cop cars the other day. I had a thought: When government gets to big that its sole reason for existing is to maintain itself, it no longer serves the people as it must feed on the people.
  • Dale Doback is NOTW today, ignore please
  • Obama is the biggest threat these days...
Obama and his administration with the help of Reid, Pelosi and those know nothings in congress.
They don't even know what this country stands for. 110% Clueless.
As far as Obama, he's the worst president EVER!!!
    http://codecrackx15.wordpress.com/2010/07/14/obama-worst-president-ever-inexperienced-incompetent-a-complete-disaster/
  • No, actually....
...government and politicians are merely SYMPTOMS of our biggest problem. Our biggest problem is ourselves....ourselves in that we elect fools and people of very little (if any) character or quality to govern us.

Obama is horrible - as any rational person can easily see. So are Pelosi, Reed, Frank, Dodd, Boxer, et al, heck practically every single Democrat is awful and practically every single Republican is only ever so slightly better (which is why every election I have a Faustian choice to make and end up voting against somebody and rarely for anyone). Yet we continue to elect the same people over and over or people just like them!

I thought Clinton was awful, but I'd take him over Obama any day. My fear is with the way we vote that some day I will pine for the days of Obama as president. That's right...we can and probably will at some point elect somebody even worse. And whose fault will it be? Ours, of course. We get what we deserve because the average voter knows WAY more about his favorite football team's last round draft choice than he does about the people he's electing to make decisions that will affect his and his children's lives.

So we have met the enemy and he is us. And that, USA, is our biggest problem.
  • Actually...
the biggest problem facing America is the New World Order agenda. The politicians are just frontmen. Some are aware of their treason. Others are completely oblivious to the fact that they are being used by the oligarchical elites. JFK is a shining example of what happens when a politician wakes up to the true agenda.

  • And the conservative solution is...
    Cricket cricket cricket

Work on the other problems first
  • Lost Decade
NEW YORK (CNNMoney.com) -- The risk of a double-dip recession is getting a lot of attention, but even that grim prediction could prove a little too optimistic.
Disappointing job reports, weakness in housing and consumer spending and problems in world financial markets have raised concerns about the U.S. economy stalling out later this year. Now some economists are starting to talk about an even worse fate: a prolonged period of very weak growth, a so-called "lost decade."
Obama's answer to this threat is to raise taxes – the man is a bumbler par excellence
