For those people so focused on the Bumblebee metaphor... "I find it frustrating that someone with his science background could perpetuate the myth of scientists not understanding bumblebee flight..." - you obviously do not understand what a metaphor is and rhetorical figures of speech are too deep for you to understand. So, let me clear it up for you. Do not let the "powers that be" tell you what is and should be, instead your own goal-oriented behavior to make something happen.

Did you actually read the article you linked? Nowhere in it does it say that scientists now understand how a bee flies. Its overriding conclusion was that it was wrong to say that "science says a bee CAN'T fly". They've learned a lot of things in the process, but nothing there -- or anywhere else I can find -- states that science now understands how bees are able to fly.

Based on your post, I assume you do not believe in God which to me is your right and take no issue. The problems I have with those who don't believe in God and often times consider themselves above believers are the attacks, belittling, superiority, and dismissal of believers (I have the same with some believers on other topics). I mean with all the issues Mr. Cain brought up in his speech this is what jumped at you. If you were truly secure in your conviction, you would have no need to attack Mr. Cain and his beliefs. You don’t believe in God so you are free to thank the Doctors and medical procedures. Mr. Cain does so he has a different perspective—I am sure he thank his doctors (not only do the doctors need to be thanked for saving his life but they also need to be thank for using what their creator gifted them with-- many of us have skills and refuse to apply them).
His perspective might be that he sees this as God using the doctors to save his life. You see science as just science but many of us who believe in God sees it as an instrument used by God to show us the wonders of the world and what we, his creation, are cable of achieving. What is the point of living if he gave us everything--Pain, joy, struggles, achievements, etc… are what makes life worth living? This is my perspective and not law--let's just agree to disagree (no need for the demoralization, snide comment, superiority complex, or gotcha moments etc...). We don’t have to agree but if we want a peaceful environment, we need to embrace more of our similarities and little of our differences because majority of our differences are superficial and are counterproductive in the grand scheme of things. Herman Cain would have been allowed to die under Obamacare because it would not have been cost effective to treat someone with at best, a 5% chance, and at worst, no chance at all. Obama himself said it....Maybe it's better for Grandma instead of getting a hip replacement, to...just take the pain pill. In his mind, not worth the expense. Mr. Cain would have been put on a morphine drip and allowed to die. That's how I see it from Mr. Cain's comments.

Eight years of Herman Cain could be very sweet indeed but the RNC needs to be concerned with who will follow him and who will follow them. It will take at least that many years to undo the damage done and restore government to its constitutional bounds. I would vote for Herman Cain for president in a New York minute!

One Problem With the Speech
Yes, it was a great speech. But, I wish he'd backed himself up with a bit more substance. For example, if you're going to say that you'd be dead if ObamaCare were in place a few years ago, you should explain why. Herman Cain said that one reason why he was able to stand there and speak was because there was no ObamaCare back when he was diagnosed with cancer. But, why? I'm not saying that I disagree with him.... but I'd like to know just why ObamaCare would have put him in his grave.
To not back himself up there.... well, it bordered on demagoguery.

I voted for Mr. Cain when he ran for Senate back in 2004 and I'll be proud to vote for him if he runs for President in 2012. Herman Cain is a true leader and he's the man we need to revive our Republic.

Why would I watch something that would bore me
I mean, that is why I dont understand conservatives complaining about the "mainstream" media. If you dont like it, then you would be a fool to watch/read/listen to it. But I guess we all know how conservatives are known as trolls to whatever the new(or old) crying argument is.
Disdain prior to investigation is the one of the surest paths to failure.
Steve, it took less than 18 minutes to disprove your comment/assertion.
Many seminars, classes, speeches and conferences are filled with information we already know, don't want to know, disagree with, or didn't even need to know. Now, you can skip the opportunity entirely. Or you can listen to find at least one "salient nugget" that might make the whole experience worth your time. Or it can inspire and inform you for your own rebuttal. But ignorance is grossly inadequate.
Let me suggest listening first.

Herman needs a TV show
Herman is the best. Don't always get the chance to listen to him on the radio. He needs a TV show so that more people can see/hear what he has to say!(and so I could tape him for later if need be.) He is very articulate. He explains the issues precisely so that all can understand the problems we are facing in this country.

....But his substance needs to consist of the kind of things Ron Paul is talking about. If the GOP goes neo-con it will be handing another 4 years to Obama. The Tea Party movement that Ron Paul started is simply too strong, and true Tea Party types will not be voting for a neo-con, especially after how the neo-cons posing as Republicans treated Ron Paul in the 2008 election.We have not forgotten and if the GOP pushes non serious un-American neo-cons in elections, (like McCain or Romney) we will remind you again. The neo-cons are the true 3rd party that will cause Obama to win....always remember that.
