First of all .. this guy's an idiot. But in reality he didn't do anything the Democrats didn't do .. with glee .. when Bush was in office.

There's a group out there called the Tennessee Hospitality Association. The CEO is Walt Baker ... for now. My guess is he's gone by the end of the day. What did he do? Well ... he saw a picture of Michelle Obama with her lips pursed. We've all seen that expression. So this rocket surgeon sends out an email ... to a group of public figures, no less ... that had the pursed-lips Michelle Obama picture at the bottom alongside a picture of a chimpanzee. 

As I said ... uhoh. Already the Nashville Convention and Visitors Bureau has already terminated its marketing contract with Baker's outfit.

Why even bring this up? Well, I wanted to share this picture with you ....

Actually ... I think it's pretty funny. These comparisons are really pretty good. The point is, there seemed to be very little outrage over the constant comparisons of George Bush to a chimp. Don't believe me? Just google "Bush Chimpanzee" and check it out for yourself.

Oh well ... who said life was fair.

    How sad that we lose a man that has done so much for the city, because of our hypersensitivity to race. For some reason, our country thrives on humor at the expense of others. Turn on the TV or walk into any comedy club. Jokes against fat people, skinny people, the handicapped, smart people (nerds/geeks), & less than smart people. We pay Jeff Foxworthy alot of money to make us laugh at the expense of unrefined Southern folk with low IQ's. It's all slander and it's all against the 8th Commandment. But somewhere along the line, someone decided that poking fun at race is a bigger sin. There is no bigger sin. But because of that, we make a scapegoat of a really good man.
    What's even more sad, is that we will completely miss the point. We'll all go to work tomorrow and continue to poke fun at anyone different than ourselves. And we will laugh, like nothing's wrong.
    How sad.

    How about WE the People demand a picture of our President holding his birth certificate. Or an explanation of school records showing ow he got a free ride on a foreign student... scholarship. this is important stuff not the hypocritical damnation of this guy in Nashville. Why OH why is has the press never pushed these points like they are this event!

    Where was the outrage when Bush was compared to a chimp? Presidents and their wives have always been the brunt of jokes. What makes the "anointed one" and his wife any different? Geez, give me a break, people!! Bush was compared to a chimp! Big freaking deal!!     Yep! I will be buying the drinks tonight. At 10:00 AM I said to my cohorts that this question will get the most comments. I always found that race issues get people going. I must say all on here are unbigoted except for a couple of guilt ridden, liberal, white yankee bigots. I have been around their kind they will say something about another race and then when that person is around they act like he is his best buddy.

Are there any adults left in the US? If it was bad to send the email, it was just as bad to terminate a contract based on something that is obviously a joke. How retarded. (by the way, I never used to use that word until people started getting signatures for a bill to end the use of that word.     First off - if this was a company I worked for I would be relieved if my CEO was let go IF he was that stupid

    However, Google has pulled them image, but try Michael Steele and chimp, or his name and other racially insensitive remarks - no pulling of that content AND no outrage. You can't make something like racism only apply to the party you agree with and then expect the 80% of the people in the middle of the political spectrum to take the cause seriously. The villagers have stop running to see if there really is a wolf and its your own fault.

I guess those photoshopped images of the WHite House as a watermelon patch and Obama as an African witch doctor had nothing to do with race either since white guys also lived in that house and pushed for health programs while in office. Yep, that calendar that featured only a pair of eyes for Obama had nothign to do with race. We live on a color blind society that would never sink to using race to demean their political enemies.     here in Georgia we used to have part of our flag the much hated Confederate flag. due to the PC wannbe's it was changed. i'm sure it made all the blacks lives easier.

    but what did they change it to? why the old stars and bars flag of the Confederacy. so we replaced one with another.

    most of the blacks i worked with didn't one bit.

    and you didn't answer my question. why do you not want the US flag to be replaced due to the fact that Native American find it offensive?

    OK, so you can put up a picture of a chimp next to a white person to insult his intelligence and that's OK, but the same chimp next to a black person is racist. So tell us, what is the proper insult for a person of color that will strictly insult their intelligence with no racial overtones. I suspect that in your mind there isn't any. I would put forth that what is really racist is treating a member of one race different from a member of another race.

    It is hard to believe that the late night talk show hosts, Leno and the rest are still cracking jokes about Bush and Cheney. They have been out of the public eye for some time now but still their so-called comedy writers are still writing material about them. If these writers can’t come up will funny material on a illegitimate mullato President who may not even be a US citizen and a Vice President who in my opinion is a genuine self-loathing idiot then they should seek employment elsewhere.     @Dave: You said that this has "racial overtones", but why does it have racial overtones? I'm going to say because somewhere along the line a white person picked the monkey as a means of insulting black peoples' intelligence because the monkey is a "humanoid" creature of limited intelligence that is covered with dark fur. So even though it has "racial overtones" the reason is because it originates as an insult of intelligence. Therefore it's the same as the insults of Bush because those were also an insult of intelligence only it was targeted at a specific individual.

    I still don't get the whole black history month thing either.

    The bush picture is insulting his intelligence. The Obama picture has racial undertones, at least if you are hypersensitive to such things. Insulting intelligence is allowed, insulting race isn't. At least I think those are the rules these days. I can't keep up with what people choose to be offended about.

    White and Black people think the pictures of Bush are funny. Black people don't like any photos of their race pictured next to monkeys. I have come to the conclusion that blacks have a really low self esteem, and do not have a lot of self worth. They have to be constantly told they are good people. When anything negative is brought up about the black race, they immediately start throwing their hands up, and yelling to try and suppress what is being said. When negative things are said about whites, we just shrug our shoulders and say "whatever". We have enough self worth to not care what other races say.

    Images of chimpanzees/apes have long been used by racists to demean black people, not caucasians like King George. And in his case, it was clearly more of a comparison to his low IQ, not physical appearance.
