Barack Obama took some heat from House liberals yesterday on healthcare reform. One interesting exchange took place between Obama and Rep. Barbara Lee. Lee is upset because a government option does not appear in the Senate bill, which the president has endorsed. According to Lee, Obama said that he still "strongly supports" a government option, but that there aren't enough votes to get it passed. But then Obama went on to say this ... Obama said that the current healthcare legislation is a "foundation," and that he would work with the Congressional Black Caucus "on the next effort."



What has your friend the Talkmaster been telling you? It's clear that the Statists can't get everything they want right now ... so they have crafted a bill designed to put the seeds of destruction into our present health care system. Once the mandates, the penalties and other onerous restrictions and demands of ObamaCare go to work on our present system the collapse will be inevitable. In just a few years the Democrats believe they would be able to say to the American people "See, we tried! We tried halfway measures to reform health care, but they didn't work. Now we have no choice but to go the distance ... to move to a single payer plan."

You do know what single payer is, don't you? Just a clever, non-threatening way to say "government takeover."

It is a testament to the success of government education that the vast majority of the American people don't realize what is actually going on here. The dumb asses .. the government-educated dumb asses ... don't realize that this isn't about providing you with health care. It's about controlling your health care. When the government controls your health care, the government controls you.

    What kind of schooling did Boortz get growing up?

    Is he a dumb-ass like the rest of us who no choice in going to a government school? (Like anyone has a choice at age 7 of where they would attend school)

    This is really all about reparataions.. Obama has always said finanical payments or reparations doesn't go far enough..
    This is more payment back to a certain community in our country..

    Obama is the epitome of cool. The looks, the smile, the talk, the right politics, the right handlers. And to an audience weaned on Entertainment Tonight and People Magazine, he appeared on the American stage as "sort of a god". A lot of Americans still think he's cool but are discovering for themselves that "cool" is usually the refuge of someone who just isn't all that smart.
    Cool can take you a long way in an Entertainment Tonight kind of America. It can get you a Harvard education and get you elected POTUS, but when substantive, individual efforts are required cool can't deliver. Snoop Dog is cool but he would probably do no better as POTUS than Obama.
    It's sad really. Obama reminds me of Milton's Samson Agonistes. A really cool but misled and incompetent character that finally destroyed the building in which he was chained.

    Problem is some people have different definitions for something “Working” or not.

    To some, if the Government program helps bankrupt the country – aka Cloward-Piven, well to them, That's working by golly!

    But to normal people – those that don't want the economy and the country destroyed – the definition of working means, well those systems work as advertised and don't become giant black holes for the taxpayer's hard earned money.

    I'm not to sure how many could claim that those programs “work” by that standard, but that doesn't matter to the Far-left National Socialist whigout Democrats anyways.

    The Democrat healthcare program would, of course, achieve exactly its purpose: it would put this country in exactly the same mess Greece finds itself currently.
    It would make everybody dependent on government to get to see a doctor.
    I'd be lower on the list to get a medical procedure, because my ancestors came from the wrong continent.

    Government option is like promising you free steak, it sounds great, until the steak arrives; government will dictate the size, the way it is cooked, where it is cooked, where you will eat it, when you can eat it, and of course, it depends on what the definition of steak is, it could be kangaroo, buffalo, etc… or even soy... but hey, it's free!!! BON APPETIT morons.
    Those who believe that government knows what is best for the country should not reproduce.

    Actually there are only about 110 million people that file a tax return with taxable income. The rest are simply moochers.

    Boortz and the right-wingers complain about a "government takeover of health care." When it's pointed out (over and over again) that the current bills are not in any way a government takeover, they then say,"Well, this is just a first step!" He calls anyone who disagrees a dumb ass.

    Boortz. You are the dumb ass. It took 60 votes in the Senate just to get through this watered down version. In order to get a single payer system, would take another 60 votes in the Senate.

    If you are right, and the health care bill is going to be such a disaster, there would never be 60 votes in the Senate for a single-payer system. If, on the other hand, there are eventually 60 votes for a single-payer system, that would mean that the overwhelming majority of voters SUPPORT a single-payer plan.

    So, what Boortz is saying, he's scared to death that the Democrats health-care plan will WORK!

  • Whenever
    these statists use the term "single-payer" they are really avoiding the truth that a government run system is actually a "150 million payer" system. That represents the number of taxpayers that will foot the bill for the total 310 million people, including the half of the country that can't seem to make enough money to pay taxes.

  • govt takeover
    Neal, you are missing the point when you say that the govt wants to take over 1/6th of the economy. This is a 100 percent takeover.

    Look at it this way, if the govt controls health care, they can tie anything to health care. There is literally nothing they could not do.

    I see them tying food/alcohol/cars/education/tobacco to health care.

    Think about guns. They can say that gun violence is a huge part of health care costs. So they pass a huge tax on ammo, or ban hand guns all together, or they could deny you care until you turn in your guns.

    Think it cannot happen?
