What others are saying

  • Guns
    I like to shoot people
  • haha
If someone in my neighborhood put up a sign like this he would get shot! :-) I think it is a hilarious concept, but I don't think anyone would actually put this on their front lawn. I do think it is funny that foreigners actually believe this is real.
  • guns
Hey Americans, i am from Europe, and you know what?

Crime rates are way higher in America than they are in Europe. This might not be due to guns, but what is interesting is that the amount of deaths per burglaries are waaaaay lower over here than in America.

If a burglar comes in while you are home armed, and you are armed too, most likely you will see at least 1 death.
If you're lucky it is him, if you're unlucky, he misses you but hits your daughter in stead, and then you hit him, or you die?

If you didn't have any guns. You'd call the police. The burglar would run in, you let him take whatever he wants. No one dies, you get to keep your daughter, and you get everything replaced by your insurance company. and if you're extremely lucky, the police actually catches him (1/100).

So yes. Gun control is a good thing.
  • Painfully obvious photoshop
Note how it is perfectly rectangular, yet it is far enough off center that there would be some perspective skewing.

Also note the aliasing on the angled edges of the arrow.
  • It's stuff like this that makes me embarrassed to be American.
  • Sign
Everyone with an outspoken gun grabbing liberal socialist neighbor should post this sign. This is exactly what our schools and businesses do when they declare a "Gun Free Zone". It's an invitation to criminals and crazies to "Come on in! Nobody here is armed so you won't be shot at". "Gun Free Zones" are the most dangerous places in our country and the more people become aware of that, the better. All compentant and qualified adults who want to be armed should be able to be armed in schools, businesses, churches, any place there is not an armed guard or policeman to protect you from harm.....which is just about everywhere.
  • I lol'd
I'm not sure if I would put something like this on my lawn. I'm not the kind of guy that likes to start sh!t with my neighbors. If, however, in the course of debate I wanted to up the ante this sign makes a wonderful, if hilarious, point.

  • B +1
B +1. Actually, the neighbor to the left doesn't necessarily have to put a sign up to counter their "neighbor."

Anybody this demonstrably foolish probably doesn't have a gun safe.

All a 'banger needs to do is cruise the neighborhood, spot this sign, come back when the car-port is empty. Ring the doorbell/pick the lock. 'Banger now has a larger arsenal, and now the 'neighbor' is on the hook for any crimes commited with his stolen weapons.

Again, classy move. Although I must say I'd trade my teabagger neighbor for this gun-owner any day of the week. My neighborhood teabagger has been flying the stars and stripes upside down for the last 14 months for some reason or another.

Funny, I've always heard conservatives complaining about libs disrespecting the flag, yet the only time I've witnessed it, it was a disturbed conservative doing the disrespecting.

    Good luck people.
  • Sign
I think it's amazing how a simple image can spark such heated arguments among people who don't even know each other.

Americans live in one of the most freedom minded countries in the world. Yet some let the opinions of others, whom they don't even know, upset them. I've read most of the posts up to this point and am shocked at how rude people can be when their adversary is not in front of them.

Gun control always creates this kind of revolutionary banter among individuals. I suppose I could enter my opinion too. I'm sure It would also generate much ridicule.

I'm really not that concerned with gun control. I suppose It is necessary to maintain the Bill of Rights. Some people live in high crime areas of our country. I legally own firearms and use them mainly for sport.

The one other item I have noticed over the years when issues of freedom arise is the mis-understanding of the word "liberal". The term liberal has changed in meaning over the past two hundred years among Americans. The constitution, in my opinion, was a liberal document at the time it was written. The ideas proposed were very radical. These included the right of personal property ownership, free speech, gun ownership, and many others. These days the word liberal has become synonymous with "Socialist". I think people are terrified and intimidated greatly by this word.

Whether we wish to admit it or not this nation is a socialist country. We are not as free as our grandparents were. Our freedoms have been systematically stripped away over the past century. The original freedom that, in my opinion, was a greater loss than it would be to loose the second amendment was the 16th amendment. Money is the real controller of societies as well as individuals.
  • Turnabout, Fair Play
Right, and the neighbors have a sign that says:

"My next door neighbor's house is empty from 9-5 and they OWN GUNS! They think that gun ownership is an effective crime deterrent, so out of respect for their opinions I will NOT call THE POLICE if you try to rob them."
  • I love it
    I think it is great.

Lets the bad guys know where to go
  • Sign
The world would be soooo much safer if we just solved all our problems with guns!!
  • Sign
This guy with a sign is obviously insecure, and is upset with his neighbor's sense of security.
If this sign were pointing at my house, I would simply find out who this guy's insurance carrier is. They would cancel his home insurance in an instant. No insurance carrier in their right mind wants this type of legal exposure. Then watch how quickly the sign comes down.
  • FLORIDA..
When Griselda Blanco flooded Florida with cocaine police urged people to purchase guns because they simply would not be able to assist calls for help.the people were actually smart enough to listen back then and arm themselves.the crime rate actually dropped quite drastically.
  • @Johnny
Johnny is a classic troll... lol
  • I don't care how many guns you own...
the 2nd ammendment says you have the right to own a gun. Buy and own as many as you want. Now funny how so many Boortz listeners want the right to vote removed from other Americans. Boortz has told his sheep for so long that there is no right to vote that a significant number actually believe it. Rights are rights. Your right to bear arms. Someone elses right to vote.
  • Sign
As for the sign, I gotta get me one of these. As for the below post about the three year old, the parents should be prosecuted for stupidity. When you have guns you have a safe and you use it or at least a locked drawer! There is no excuse and no reason for that to happen.
  • Lawn sign
    Awesome!
  • Only in America
    Say no more.
  • Fake
    Fake Fake Fake
  • Nutz
It's no wonder that the rest of the world thinks Americans are nuts.
  • Guns
Simple fact gun laws don't stop crime. Chicago has had the gun ban since 1984 yet every year is one our nations deadliest cities due to firearms. How is that possible if gun laws work? Simple a murderer doesn't care about violating some itty pitty city ordinance.
  • Sue
Johnny you must be a ambulance chasing lawyer. Sue Bush? Did the child buy the gun? Did the child load the gun? Where were the parents, how did he get the gun? Its a shame a child has died and everyone should grieve and hope that child is in heaven. Maybe we should sue the parents for poor supervision.
  • A SIGN
I wonder if there would be liability involved if the sign spawned a robbery, or worse. It's certainly not very bright, neighborly, or kind to publically disclose your perceptions of your neighbor’s security. It's essentially a public disclosure pointing out to would be criminals that he thinks he's found a suitable target for their crimes.

Aside from the potential legal issues associated with disclosing your neighbors security, the sign screams “I’m an ,” and who wants to live near an jerk? I wonder if a-holes negatively affect property values?
  • Re: "Is it legal"
So, the pacifist anti gun activist is victimized and blames the neighbor with the sign for advertizing his lack of defence... wherein the pacifist anti gun activist was before relying not upon himself for his safety, but on his neighbor's gun and/or the annonimous threat that he "MIGHT" have one... What is the percentage of gun owners in this country...50%, 60%, 70%??? The bad guys are kept in check (such as it is)only buy that annonomus threat. Perhaps the gun owning neighbor had no right to remove that threat defence from his pantywaist next-door, but the pas-activist needs to retain his annonimity also... ... I guess I am a bit of a liberterian.
  • Gun Ban Fool
I love that sign. If the person next door wants to ban guns, it should be a law to publicize his opinion. The same for drunk drivers, molestors, etc. At least until their parole or probation expires or they change their opinion.
  • @ Johnny
Some people are too dumb for children. Leaving a gun out for a 3 year old to access?

That's like putting your baby in a crib full of razorblades, then blaming razorblades for killing your baby.

IQ tests before allowing people to have children will save more lives.
  • @Johnny
It is negligence on the part of the parents if a 3-year-old child is able to pick up and handle a loaded gun.

Similar tragedies have occurred when chemical cleaning products were stored within a child's reach, but cleaning products are not banned because of the potential for fatal poisonings.

This is obviously a very sad tragedy, but it is not an excuse for banning guns. It is a case for more parental responsibility.
  • @ Johnny
Really? You're going to blame the gun for the kids death? I assume then you think it had nothing to do with the parents being irresponsible?
So using you're line of moronic thinking, I could drive my car through a stop light, run over some kid in the crosswalk, and blame it on my car. Because no one ever regulated those darn dangerous cars, and told me they were so deadly! Ban cars!

That is literally the single most idiotic, nonsensical argument for wanting to ban firearms. I guess it was the spoon that made Rosie O'donnell fat too?
  • Johnny - learn something.
    peepole - people
    beleeve - believe
    killin - killing
    now - know
    dont - don't
    u - you
    wont - won't
    youd - you'd

Let's not even get into punctuation & capitalization. You may have spelled Bush's name correctly, but you made a mistake by even referring to him anyway. He wasn't running, remember?
  • Sign
The person who posted that sign needs his rear end iicked because he is most unAmerican who does not believe in freedom of speech.
  • no need for further bickering ...
it's just a Photoshop'd image ... nothing more to see here.
  • @ mg
Hey, "@ mg", I'll give you the benefit of the doubt and believe that you don't believe what you yourself wrote.

What an idiotic thing to say - sue Bush. Who was in the house and left the gun laying around anyway? Somehow I doubt it was Bush. Who are you going to blame the next time someone driving a car runs over a child? Bush? Who are you going to blame the next time a child drowns in a river or lake? Nevermind, I know. Bush. He didn't ban cars, or rivers or lakes. It is obviously his fault.
  • I have an idea, Johnny
Why not take away all the Wii controlers?
  • "And yet, peepole still beleeve guns are good. "
    Only the smart ones.
  • @ mg
    "Serendipity
I got this on Reader's recommended items feature. The previous item, the one right before this one, was about a 3 year old accidentally killing himself with a gun he mistook for a Wii control. You can't make this stuff up.
    By mg @ 03/11/10 02:35:04 PM"

And yet, peepole still beleeve guns are good. When 3 years olds start killin themselves cause they dont now the difference between a real gun and a fake on we need to do something as american citizens. Bush wanted to do away with gun laws. Can u imagine the number of deaths had he been succeeded? If I were those parents I'd sue Bush. It wont bring your baby back but youd win I'm sure of it.
  • Mike Adams
Straight up Mike Adams. Love it.
  • Serendipity
I got this on Reader's recommended items feature. The previous item, the one right before this one, was about a 3 year old accidentally killing himself with a gun he mistook for a Wii control. You can't make this stuff up.
  • A sign
Where can I get one of these?
  • I would like to see someone do a study where the Leftist, national socialist bedwetters put a sign out in front of their abodes that proudly declares THEY don't believe in one's right to self-defense.
Then study how many of them survive the experiment.

A 'million mom march' sign and a 'We're disarmed' sign is a private residence version of those stupid “Gun-free” zone signs the Leftist, national socialist bedwetters (Bless their hearts) like to put up everywhere.

Supposedly those sign prevent crime or some such or other – Why don't you Leftist, national socialist bedwetters (LNSB) put you self defense where you mouths are and post them.
We solemnly promise to nominate Y'all for a (posthumous) Darwin award if you do.
  • SFC MAC,
IQ test would be perfect. But, if they did that, only about 20 million Americans would be allowed to vote. But, I think simply showing a tax receipt should be the only way a citizen is allowed to vote. (If you're retired, you show your last tax receipt everytime you vote). You pay no taxes, you don't vote. How can a citizen get to decide how the system works when they put nothing into the system? It's damn near insane.

I think, but am not sure, that when this country was founded, only property owners were allowed to vote.
  • Did ya'll read Johnny's gibberish?
He says guns were only needed back in the day when people had to hunt for food. Dear Johnny, people STILL hunt for food. Can you please show me where the Second Amendment mentions "hunting"? I missed something. And then li'l Johnny starts rambling on about Bush. Go figure. You liberals are such a tired act. Really, you are.
  • Great sign
The liberal next door certainly understands that anyone who breaks, enters, and steals just needs a little Hope (they get away with it) and (some your spare) Change.
  • Redstate, don't forget...
"WHEN SECONDS COUNT - THE POLICE ARE MINUTES AWAY"
  • @Johnny @ 03/11/10 10:17:10 AM
Johnny, why make majority of your posts about race? Why don’t you just rebut with fact and reason that are relevant to the topic at hand? I, who is not into guns but believes in the 2nd amendment and backs those who choose to have guns, found this sign to be cool, original, funny, and aligned with the 1st amendment. My only objection is it can be legally problematic if an actual burglary takes place at the neighbor’s house. Although, I would not find the person with the sign liable (the one who actually commits the burglary is culpable) I can see the neighbor and the criminal system trying to hold him liable.
Your rebuttal to the message on the sign was quite cool until you brought the KKK into the matter. Please we all know the KKK was started by a bunch of Democrats (some who are now democrats, republicans, etc…). Drop the KKK bit, racism (true racism—not the current definition) does not recognize political party, race, ethnicities, gender, sexual orientation, creed, nationality, etc…

For example you could have say this and still make your point without resorting to race baiting: "Warning: gun crazy idiot. Likely to kill himself or a loved one. Can only point gun and threaten. At TEA PARTY rallies from 8 AM to 5 PM. Key under mat, feel free to come in." See I substituted the race baiting word with tea party because that is much more accurate by that I mean majority of the tea party stands for our Constitutions which gives individual Americans the right to bear arms. I know most want to color the tea party racist but you and I know about 90% are far from racism and want to adhere to our Constitution. 90% because in my view regardless of party, political philosophy, and race about 5% of us will exhibit true racism, the remainder 5% just don’t like anyone, in my view.

By the way the 2nd amendment was not about hunting for food; it was about defense from tyranny (upholding freedom and liberty) and protection for self, family, and country. I am not much for guns but to change the meaning of the Constitution to fit ones view is just plain wrong—the Constitution is the same of which political party is in power.
  • Gugo's roast “Then I would take my shotgun and blast their stupid sign. “
Funny how way far left international Socialist's [ iNazis] don't respect private property.
  • GOOD GOING
Now the nazi storm trropers know whos house to raid.
  • For those that believe we should be disarmed........a question.
Just suppose for a moment, while you and your family are home, someone breaks into your house and begins to commit violent indignities upon them. Deny it if you will but it DOES happen, with sickening regularity.
    You have four choices;
    1. Appeal to his better nature, (he likely won't have one).

    2. Call the police and hope they arrive in time, (a lot can happen in 3 to 5 minutes).

    3. Run screaming from you home, and leave the victims to their fate (and what a coward you would be too).

    4. Arm yourself and stop the attack, (saving your family).

What would you do? Decide fast.
  • Thank Heavens Steve's Right
"Free speech is not granted in the Constitution."

If it were, Obama, Reid & Pelosi would have already figured out a way to deny us that right!
  • a sign
good neighbors are hard to find.
  • Huh?
I don't get none of dis. Over my hed! imma duumy!
  • Johnny
Are you done pee-peeing in your diaper, Johnny? Good, now go back to sucking on your pacifier.
  • If guns are outlawed,
    only government will have guns.
  • lame shopped image
Looks fake to me. A really bad Photoshopped image.
  • Radiating at less than 15 watts
So, believe that all guns should be eliminated? You believe it so much that you already disarmed yourself?

Good for you. Stand up for what you believe in. Talk the talk and walk the walk.

Now you are upset that your neighbor still owns a gun and is less than enthusiastic about relying on an alarm system, the police and 911? You are upset that your neighbor has a gun for self-protection? Do you share your opinions with him? Do you call him a neanderthal?

Well, I guess that would be you using your right to free speech. Guess what? So is your neighbor. He is using his right to free speech to announce his opinion to the world just like you did with him.

Got a problem with him expressing his views to the world? Then maybe you should be a little more careful expressing your views to him.

Remember, free speech does not mean "I get to say anything I want and there will be absolutely no consequences."

Free speech means that the government cannot put you in jail for saying something like "-Politician's Name Here- is a dirtbag."

Free speech is not granted in the Constitution. The government is limited to what it can do to you for speaking freely.

You want to talk tough about gun-control? Walk the walk too. Take the bad with the good. If you can't do that, you are a hypocrite. Among other names I will not call you because I respect this website, not you.

    Have a nice day Johnny.
  • @Johnny
"I'd sue him if my house was broken into."

If that ever happened, you'd have more to worry about than indignation with your neighbor. Wanna bet the last thoughts you'd have before you were shot by criminals who love the fact that you're anti-gun?: "I shoulda listened to my neighbor".

You're the quintessential reason why people should submit to an IQ test before they're allowed to vote...or breed.
  • Mike Adams
Mike Adams wrote in a column for Townhall that he was going to do this a couple of weeks ago. The wording on the sign is word for word to those he used to describe what he wanted to do.
  • Hugo
If I were his neighbor, I would not worry about getting a lawyer, I would get a gun!

Sounds like you already went and bought one too.
  • Truth vs Not
    Johnny,
The only problem is that your imagined sign might well be an invitation to a defamation suit... well, unless I missed the intonation that would change the sign to be luring people to their demise because the neighbor does not merely threaten. Hugo's ghost's sign, on the other hand, especially if just the first sentence is posted, would probably be just as valid as this guy's.
  • No, Johnny. We're not teaching revisionist history here.
You beclown yourself, displaying your ignornace of US history as most government-educated libtards do. Simply put, the 2nd Amendment is in place to prevent tyrants from controlling the american populace. Read Jefferson, Washington, Adams, etc. and you might (and that's a big might) possibly understand. You probably don't even know who they are.

Your pathetic existence merely serves as evidence that the Confederacy of Fools is alive and well. Hopefully, Darwinism will prevent you and your ilk from procreating.
  • @Johnny

You have to remember, he is a fool. The 2nd amendment was used back then when you had to hunt your food. It not needed anymore. I'd sue him if my house was broken into. It guys like this that voted for Bush and caused peepole to rob others. Had bush not destroyed the country then peepole wouldn't need to steel. It Bushes fault.<<<<<
    ------------------------------------

I was going to respond, but why bother. Just having the comment posted again speaks volumes to the breathtaking stupidity of an individual.

Johnny, I beg you, for the sake of humanity, please..please, stay home in November.
  • Of course it's legal
If this guy wants to exercise his 1st Amendment rights, he can. But what gives his libtard neighbor the right to suppress his 2nd Amendment rights? Nothing at all.

I don't see any legal problems here for the sign owner--just potential problems from his POA (if there is one which is probably run by libtards anyway).
  • Neighbor

  • haha, what an idiot
I love how this guy is too dumb to find the grocery store(or is a criminal) yet found a kinkos to make the sign.

I cannot wait til this guy goes to court. I would love to take that case.

I also like how he must be some angry guy that cannot stand someone having a different belief than him. What a baby. Angry people w/ guns only help bring about more gun control. I love how morons sometimes think they are helping out the cause but actually hurting it.
  • That property
is mine. Don't I have a luscious lawn!
  • Lawyers in love
I know a future lawsuit when I see one.
  • Hugo's Ghost
No you wouldn't, Hugo, because you wouldn't own a gun to begin with. You're a wimpy crybaby who has no reason to own any violent mechanical objects, unless you are talking about that device you and Gayvin use together.
  • Is it legal?
I am not much for guns but I have to say cool sign but is it legal? If this is true I can see problems arising from this if your neighbor was unfortunate enough to be burglarized--He can sue you for inviting a burglar to his house by stated the burglar only did it because you advertised his lack of defense. Also imagine if some one gets wounded or killed--I can see some prosecutor trying to hold you criminally liable.
  • MeFein
Hugo just wants the government to take everyone's guns but his.

    Typical hypocritical liberal...
  • Nice sentiment...
but too bad it's a really, really poorly done Shop job.
  • Very nice
"An Armed Society, is a Polite Society."

"The police never show up until after people have been shot."

If we ban all the guns from public citizens, then only the Police and the Criminals will have them, and sometimes, you can't tell the difference.

  • Must be some kind of feud....
These people likely don't have backyard BBQ's together. I'll bet that if the neighbors house gets hit, some lawyerly slime creature will try to sue them. "But it WASN'T false advertising, they really ARE unarmed libs."
  • Fake
Although I love the Sign, there is not chance that is a real picture. That is a 100% photoshop. I know you are old Neal, but get someone with young eyes to look ti over.
  • agree with George
I agree with the sentiment, bu it looks like a fake.

And Hugo, if you're a gun banner, why do you have a shotgun? Are you a Kennedy?
  • Classy Neighbors
If I had some neighbors like that, I'd post a sign pointing at their house that said "Neighbors well-armed but not at home from 9am to 5pm. Gun safe is in the attic."

Then I would take my shotgun and blast their stupid sign.
  • Need the Back Story
    Neal,

Give us more info. This is great.
  • Great sign.
That's all that needs to be said honestly.
  • 2nd amendment
Oh yeah, I'm going to post this on my lawn for my Demonuts next door to me. They voted for the, "Anointed One", and think he is doing a GREAT JOB. They don't believe in the death penalty either.
  • LOVE IT
THAT IS FREAKIN AWESOME!!!! I want one of those
  • Need address
In your haste you forgot to include the address.
  • Loves It!
    Loves It!
  • A SIGN
Point well taken, but I'm calling BS on this. Looks like a fairly lame photoshop job.
  • nice sign
I agree with him. I would never defend a neighbor or his property if he was a gun grabber or government lover.
  • Love that sign!!!
Where can I buy a sign like that?!!!
    I love it!!

I do pity the neighbor that has a sign like that pointed at my house. This is because where I live we have the castle doctrine and I exercise my rights under that statute and the 2nd Amendment to the Constitution.
