"When plunder becomes a way of life for a group of men living together in society, they create for themselves in the course of time a legal system that authorizes it and a moral code that justifies it."

First question .. why did I do this? Because they asked me, I guess ... and at least MSNBC will do talk show hosts. CNN, you know, has a stated policy that radio talk show hosts will not be guests on CNN programs.

So ... off I went to the studio. Now here's a little "inside television" for you. Palin's speech was scheduled for 9:00. I wasn't going to be on the air with Ed Schultz until after the speech. That would be around 9:45 at the latest. Now if I'm going to have a guest on the radio show (which doesn't happen all that often) I want them in the studio about three or four minutes before we go on the air. That's not the way it is with some TV shows. They wanted me in the chair and all wired up at 8:30. Why? Because the producers in NYC wanted to know that I was there and ready to go so they could worry about something else. So ... being the publicity whore that I am ... I was fully compliant.

The show begins and before Palin speaks Ed engages his pal Bob Shrum for a few moments. Well ... it's MSNBC, so the audience gets a little left-wing chatter and a few insults thrown at Palin. Then Palin speaks. (more on that in a moment). After her speech Shultz and Shrum engage in more banter. It is at this point that Shrum comes out with a statement so asinine (and predictable) that about 887 jaws drop across the nation. Now that doesn't sound like much .. but when you consider that this is about one-half of your audience, that's a bunch. Then they go back to the Tea Party convention for Palin's question-and-answer session. By this time it is almost 10:00 and I'm thinking about all of the actual fun things I could have been doing on a Saturday evening. It was at this point that I sent out a Tweet [@talkmaster] suggesting that Shrum and Schultz were getting along so well that I suspected neither of them were wearing pants ... though you couldn't tell since they were sitting at a table.

Now ... let's get to the asinine statement made by Bob Shrum. Well, actually .. there were several. At least twice in the early going Shrum reminded the audience that Palin has a speechwriter. That's rather odd when you consider the fact that Shrum was once Teddy Kennedy's speechwriter. I guess it's ok for a liberal lion to have a speechwriter, but when a conservative hires one it's somehow not so good.

And then ...............

What others are saying

  • It is because
they want the 'first' affffrican American President to succeed, whether it is false makes no difference.

We just CAN'T have the 'first black President 'fail'!!

THERE.......it was said. And everybody knows it to be true.
  • Re
Sarah Pailn, "a merchant of hate"...

    ARE YOU KIDDING ME, MSNBC?!!

I guess not. After all, they are President Barack "sort of a god" Obama's cheerleaders. Remember, if you watch MSNBC, expect that any conservative/libertarian/patriot will be heckled and hated. This is your fair and balanced news that libs and democrats are always pushing for:

Pro Liberal, anti-American and anti-conservative views against common sense, researched, anti big-government, patriotic commentary.

Poor, Neal. he had to endure that mess from Shrum and Rachel Maddow. God bless you for standing up to these blithering idiots.

As for Sarah Palin, I DIDN'T hear ONE OUNCE of hate in her speech, unless you count the hatred of big liberal government and Obama's agenda. Her speech was more inspiring than "sort of a god's" pathetic State of The Union address he delivered.

Keep up the great work, Neal!
  • @ Ursula
From one woman to (hopefully) another woman - Neal is a fine looking man.
  • Boortz is a whore, Palin is a whore, we're all whores
You ppl are only looking for attention yourselves by posting here.

    Hypocrites.
  • Don't ya just Hate it
The Left has already rendered near meaning lees the words racism and racist. They are now are on the verge of bludgeoning their favorite, Hate, into the hereafter as well. While I “Hate” to say it, they are really to be pitied. They are truly a programmable breed and can’t help themselves.
  • is that all you got?
Boortz, you sat around for hours on a Saturday night waiting for your chance to shine and when you asked a direct question you dodge it and instead opt for a weak, vague slam on the word hate? you could have crushed that guy because you were right but you blew it. saying he has no credibility isn't much of a point. especially since he slammed you with his retort. pretending you doubled over in LULZ isn’t a point either. what happened, Boortz? nerves went? you pull a Peyton Manning choke job on TV?

you avoided discussing Palin and failed to drive the point home about why shrum is a moron.

what were you so afraid of, boortz? getting slammed for having to support a phony, transparent bimbo whose political philosophy can literally fit in the palm of her hand? aside from your ad hominem attack on shrum, did you have anything else to contribute?

    D-
  • "Hate Monger"
Neal, if you are going to wade into that liberal wasteland, you have to know the code.

Here, Hate Monger is lib-speak for "disagrees with us." In lib-world, you either support The One completely or you are hateful.
  • Hit'm Boortz!
If democrats/leftists/progressives/socialists, whatever they call themselves this week, would understand that no matter how tragic, heart-wrenching, funny their stories are they do NOT have the right to another person's property, money, skill or talent...period. If that would happen, maybe I could have a conversation with one without holding them in complete contempt.
  • Oh My Gaaawd!!!
Boortz: Man you are just too damn ugly for words. It is no wonder you don't or can't have a television show of your own. The insurance costs for broken TV screens would be prohibitive. Go throw yourself under a surgeon's scalpel will you! Your parents must have severly beat you with the ugly stick for you to be that hideously grotesque in your appearance!
  • Tracy, Give it another shot
    Need that "active" link!
  • MSNBC is biased
Is that true or are people just angry they arent as conservative as foxnews? My guess is the latter.
  • Why on most days i love you, Boortz
-because you don't get too wrapped up in the politics and go right for the throat! So many guests decide to milk their performance on news shows and do exactly as they are told, and instead, you call Shrum out on his RETARDED criticism of Palin (that's right- the R word) which gets him off track because he has to defend (with pride?!) what he says...."I know what I said, I even wrote it down...."

I wish more guests would call out commentators like that before getting to the original point. Maybe they'd stop- but I doubt it- making what they think are clever statements and just say "I agree/disagree- here's why" and leave the insults for those who have no arguments.
  • Who watches MSNBC ...
    voluntarily?
  • Way to go Neal!
Neal dared to call the baby Ugly again.
  • Super Bowl ads
Neal didn't post it this year as usual, so here's the link to this year's Super Bowl commercials if you didn't see them.
  • Speech Writer
Obama doesn't have a speech writer? Wow I guess he writes his teleprompter speeches himself. He should read them too as he seems to be completely lost if he loses his teleprompter. Maybe it would help him to write a few notes on paper for a backup.
  • Your appearance
I waited for some time to watch you on MSNBC, but left the channel when the question and answer portion started. I figured they had bumped you for an Eddie-only commentary and decided I'd heard enough BS on (PMS)NBC. sorry.
  • I love how "an oh-gosh smile" makes it ok.
I think its great that you can get away with this crap by saying she had an oh-gosh smile" Neal you should start using that. Make some over the top statement but qualify it with that so it's "ok".
