PrezBO is having his big White House jobs summit today. Let's take a look at the general guest list:

  • Small business owners -- Not invited.
  • U.S. Chamber of Commerce -- Not invited.
  • Andy Stern, President of the Service Employees International Union -- Invited.
  • National Federation of Independent Businesses - Not invited.
  • United Steel Workers union president -- Invited
  • Teacher's union president -- Invited
  • Anna Burger, SEIU .. invited.
  • Big Obama Donors. Invited.
  • Opponents of Obama's stimulus spending. Not invited

WTF? Small business owners account for 80% of all private sector jobs in our economy, and 70% of all jobs now being created (or is it the other way around?) and they're not playing a huge role in this phony summit? The U.S. Chamber of Commerce, one of the biggest proponents and supporters of free enterprise in this nation ... not invited?

There is a problem. Businesses just aren't creating jobs as they have in previous recoveries. And why would that be? Perhaps that's because in previous economic recoveries the very businesses we rely on for new jobs weren't being threatened with huge tax increases. Can someone please tell me what sane small businessman is going to go on an expansion spree at a time when the political party in power is talking tax increases that could increase that businessman's federal tax burden by as much as 15 percentage points?

The goal here is to present to the government-educated dumb masses the idea the Obama is actually engaged in the business of creating more jobs. Truth is, the only business Obama is engaged in is that of increasing the size and power of government. Remember, our community organizer President has referred to the private sector as "the enemy." The enemy has no seat at his jobs summit.

Bottom line? It's all for show. This is a MoveOn.org, ACORN, union and government jobs fest .. nothing more. The people, however, will easily be fooled.

What others are saying

  • Jobs Summit: A joke, but we knew that.
I have an analogy: President shows up gives a short speech then leaves. Tells everyone to break into groups. Teacher shows up gives a short greeting, then tells everyone to get out their crayons and paper while she goes to the hallway.
  • Obama
Zombie, it is about boosting business in general, both big and small. Business is what make our economy go, not government. As a small business owner I can tell you that if I am further taxed, I will lay off employees. Its that simple.
  • Obama is open to any "demonstratable options"
    Really?!!!

How about the PROVEN (the debate is over) Regan tax cuts?
  • @Zombie
The truth is, conservatives WEREN'T all about big business. That's just the mantra that the Dems and the mainstream media kept repeating over and over until people like you believed it.
  • Recovery
The last recovery was jobless during the Bush administration
  • That was my anon post.
Have they figured out how to force businesses to hire yet?
  • It looks like hussein invited the same people his ‘stimulus’ stimulated.
Let me guess, before the day’s over they will conclude that to create jobs we need to raise taxes, pass card check, and spend more on education and ‘job training’ programs. I heard a snatch of reporting, and some woman said they were breaking up into groups and “making progress.”

I’ve got news, if these clowns don’t already know how to create jobs, they aren’t going to learn at any WH summit. I think I’ve asked this before, but what are hussein’s economic advisors for?
  • @Zombie Zoo
I am not a conservative. I am a Libertarian. We're big into private sector business, small government, and big into personal responsibility.
  • bad joke
The idea of the community organizer chairing a forum on private enterprise is disturbing, to say the least. America is all about personal achievement, and this guy is the antithesis of that ideal....just a moron who was groomed to play a part....a lifelong product of quotas...makes me feel all pukey.
  • t'was me........
I forgot how the spil my name.....now tell us 'bout chuck........

I got sum peeple jobs......printin' bummer stickers.......

    osamabama/pelosi 2012

    whaaaada ya t'ink?????
  • Jobs Creation Summit Joke
Of course the summit will not be about creating jobs. It will be about how much more the Govt. and looters will be able to reach their grubby hands into businesses. Will the Anti-Dog-Eat-Dog Rule or Directive 10-289 come out of this? Notice the invitees read like a Who's Who of greedy looters and those who lust power? (The greediest people I have every met were all poor.)

Regarding what government can do to create jobs? Galt said it best, "Get out of my way!"
  • Zombie
It's pointless to argue against stupidity.
  • Silly Rockhound
Luckily I am part of a small business and so long as people keep filing lawsuits I am just fine. The only government help I need is to keep the market going up like it has been and I can reap up the dividends.

I love how conservatives complain about my posts but never actually concern themselves to argue against it.
  • Zombie Zoo
They're all about whatever it takes to piss you libs off. Looks like it's working.
  • Dog & Pony Show
That's all this is. A nice little "let's pretend we care" show to soothe the braindead masses.

Sadly, millions of people will buy it. Morons.
  • Suck the Fummit.
...just wanna spread the wealth around.
  • sigh....
    Joyce M/B......"big chuck"???????

is there sumpin' you ain't tellin' us?????
    By anonymous

Yeah, I'm sure that was butt, and I meant "chunk"!!!!

    smack
  • Publius said it best!
    I almost hate to ask.
Where in the constitution does it say it is the government place to create jobs? Here is the governments place in job creation: Stand back and protect the rights of the people who already kow how to create jobs. The people who don't need a photo-op summit to dither about 10.2% unemployment.
Let us take care of ourselves Mr. Obama. You don't know how to do it.
    By PUBLIUS

    Great post.
  • Cornpone & Snarky
Snarky is gone because even he/she is becoming embarrassed by Obama. It becomes more and more difficult for a person with more than 3 brain cells to defend the democrat actions.
  • Zombie Zoo
Dang. Just dang! At least Snarkybird would try to formulate a cogent argument (and a couple of times succeeded).

Sometimes you just don't know how good you had it til it's gone ...

... paved paradise and put up a parking lot ...
  • Joyce M/B......"big chuck"???????

is there sumpin' you ain't tellin' us?????
  • Zombie
I realize that you have your handle because you a zombie Obamabot but even you can't be this stupid. Let's do what you liberals ant to do and rid this country of big business. Now, enlighten me on how you are going to be able to feed your family. And good luck waiting for the gubment to help you out.
  • I love how during the Bush administration conservatives were all about big businesses. Now they are all about small businesses. Which one is it?
It was about BOTH. I distinctly remember them making arguments for BOTH big and small businesses over the past 8 years. You just listen to whatever you want to hear.

The only ppl who focused on big business over the past 8 years were the dems and they spent their time demonizing them w/o considering things like profit margins. After all, I'm sure you don't like hearing that per dollar of investment, Apple Computer actually made several times more than any of the big oil companies when gas was costing us the most.
  • @Zombie Zoo
It is all about small business growing into big business, it is called FREE-enterprise, without government regulations and mandates. Maybe now you have a clue.
  • Jobs Summit
Neal, you just don't get it. Small business owners, the CofC, and NFIB are groups of people that already know how to create jobs and jolt the economy. Why would they need to attend a jobs summit? It is obvious by the invite list that this summit is some sort of re-education program for people who are doing something wrong or have absolutely no idea what to do.
  • DOL
Don't we already have the Department of Labor? And they're not invited? This summit is nonsense.
  • Life stinks.
My husband has to lay-off 20 more people tomorrow. I am so sad and sick about this. Why can't we get serious about what needs to be done. Jobs cannot be created out of thin air by the government. It is ridiculous to believe they can. Obama not including the people that do create jobs should tell you all you need to know about him and his agenda. Common sense people, common sense. Nothing complicated about that.
  • Serious about job creation?
How about calling in successful entrepeneurs? How about economists who aren't trying to score brownie points? How about calling on people you disagree with politically but you recognize for having the experience and knowledge you don't? Oh shoot, that's not the 'Chicago Way', I keep forgetting. Yeah, cuz we all know that it's the Unions and Obama donors who have the best ideas and create the most opportunites for 'hardworkin' Americans'. I think I'm going to be sick.
  • I almost hate to ask.
  • heeeeeey..............................
aaaaaaw crap I lost my invitation......oh well don't have no job no way.........heeey I could jist sneeek in.........

    RAAAANNNNNDDDDDY........MINUTE-LY???? really????? com'on.......
  • Job Summit that blows!
I thought our community organizer was experienced at bringing OPPOSING
groups together? (Seems one sided to me)

If you were a community organizer and your community is full of thugs and thieves, wouldn't you be called a "Boss" who organizes crime?
  • Unions at a jobs summit?
Unions don't create jobs. If anything, they limit job growth and potentially create job losses if they cause too much damage to the company.
Obama's job summit is worse than a joke. It's more a macabre dance where the inmates are in charge of the asylum.
I want to wake up and discover that this administration was just a nightmare brought on by a particulary spicy oyster po-boy.
  • Job Fest
It is a gathering of thugs that are going to plan on seizing as much private wealth as possible before the system completely collapses.
  • Jobs Summit
This ain't about jobs. Its more window dressing. These people despise the private sector.
  • non union need not apply
remember when it was"Irish(or negroes, hispanic, jewish, whatever)need not apply"?I guess Non-union is the new Irish.
  • Publicity Stunt
This is a big waste of time then. They are not serious if not including actual businesses!

They have a big chuck of the so-called stimulus unspent, I want to know what they plan to do with that!
  • It is a Summit
It isn't about creating jobs - it isn't about lowering unemployment, it isn't about fixing the problems. It is only about one thing - Obama's next Photo Op. If Obama really wanted to fix some of the problems in the US economy - he would take action - not just sit back and give a speech about it or hold a Summit.

Same thing for Afganistan - if he wanted to win the war he'd do it - he wouldn't "negotiate" with his own Generals and send them "most" of what they need to do the job.

This guy is only interested in one thing - a second term and his library.
  • No brainer
Neal what did you expect from a president that never held a private sector job. When you have a group of people who have subsided by feeding from the private sector's funds they tend to hang tight together to ensure the money keeps coming their way.
  • well wait....
And here I'm left to wonder why there's even a need for a job summit at this time. Wasn't the stimulus supposed to cure all our ails?
  • in simple terms
All the good news we are hearing about recovery (or the sounds bites from that tool Gibbs designed to relieve our fears) is only pertinent to government employment and union-affiliated ventures.
The true backbone of American economy and spirit--small business--is not. It is not because the current administration does not foster an environment conducive to small business ventures.
America, those without a backbone are running the show now, so what use is one to you, anyway?
  • Yeah, well....
I kinda figured this 'jobs summit' would be a joke when the White House said, a couple weeks back, that CREATING JOBS WILL NOT BE THE FOCUS OF THE JOBS SUMMIT.
Ya just gotta love this president's capacity to produce horsesh*t on an almost minute-ly basis.
  • Gangstas
Political Hacks, union thugs....WTF does a Teachers Union president have to do with creating JOBs? NOTHING...damnit I can't even turn on the news without screaming at the TV
  • Conservatives flip flop again
I love how during the Bush administration conservatives were all about big businesses. Now they are all about small businesses. Which one is it?
