Got this from Drudge ....

Fox News Channel 4,043,000 viewers
MSNBC 974,000 viewers
Headline News 842,000 viewers
CNN 826,000 viewers

Hey ... CNN! How's that ban on radio talk show hosts as guests working out for you? Fourth place! You folks are HOT! Oh ... and is it any wonder that the ACORN Administration absolutely HATES Fox News? Seems the people in this country don't share that hatred.

What others are saying

  • Fox News is still not news though....
Sean Hannity, Bill O'Reilly, Glen Beck et al make conservatives look bad. Their shows (especially Beck's) are laughable. I do give them credit, though, for breaking several stories that would otherwise go uncovered and forcing the other media outlets to report on them. If you take Fox News and MSNBC and combine them together you may find balance, but each is far slanted to their respective political leanings. I cannot stand to watch television news. I get almost all of my news from Wall Street Journal...I guess most people are too stupid/ignorant/lazy to read and have to have talking heads along with their news.

Ratings should have no place in the news; news should not be entertaining it should be informative...I guess that is one of the necessary evils though, advertising is essential to media so the ratings are important....

But GI Joe - Conservatives *KNOW* that Reagan was a good president. I'm sure you think Clinton was a good president; that scumbag had a major hand in the government forced subprime lending that got us into this current mess.
  • Something for GI JOE....
To "GI JOE": Conservatives STILL THINK Reagan was a good president.

Here is a quote from Reagan's radio address on October 9th, 1982:

"Someone has said that when anyone is denied freedom, then freedom for everyone is threatened. The struggle in the world today for the hearts and minds of mankind is based on one simple question: Is man born to be free, or slave? In country after country, people have long known the answer to that question. We are free by divine right. We are the masters of our fate, and we create governments for our convenience. Those who would have it otherwise commit a crime and a sin against God and man."

In that quote alone there is more leadership than your dear leader has shown in almost 10 months of his administration.
  • re: Fourth Place?
@ Meatball -- so yes, CNN and HLN are essentially the same channel, owned by the same company, and probably with the same coverage of the elections. So add their numbers together...

You still get 1.6 million viewers -- less than half of what Fox News had. Throw in MSNBC, and you finally break the halfway mark... So Boortz's argument is still pretty much the same...

More people are tuning into Fox news because they know they're getting the side of the story that the "mainstream" media won't give them. As it stands right now, they're still free to do that. Don't know how much longer that'll last, of course, under the "Fairness Doctrine" administration we've got right now, though...
  • Hi Brian/Joe
Brian/GI Joe- So now it's "all they care about is ratings instead of helping the country". You say this while your heroes in the WH are wasting how much time going after Fox News?
  • TV Ratings
Why are we wasting time talking about TV ratings? They are irrevelant.

How many good quality TV shows have been canceled due to poor ratings while absolut garbage has been allowed to continue due to high ratings.

News has been overly concerned with ratings for too long. How about focusing your priorites on something important, like...news!

Fox News is mostly opinion shows anyway.
  • the on'y news you need..........
ya'll gotta quit arguing 'bout news channels......

you on'y need to watch the daily show and jon stewart will tell you what ya needs............
  • yo' momma called...........
3mustbewrong.......yo' momma left a message to her goat molestin' chil.....

    baaaa baah baaaaah baa baaaa...........
  • iz cuzzin early there?????????
WEBWENCH (she's my cuzzin twice'st moved over)........

DISAPPEARS them?????? oh yo' ma ain't gonna like dat.....she bought you dat book and sent you to the 3rd grade and wha does she git......

DISAPPEARED.....quit hangin' out wit' all those relitives....oxoxoxoxox
  • who cares?
who cares what news services in in first?

one thing, there not news services. they're propaganda services. they only present news that the bosses want you to hear. that means no news that would make the bosses look bad.
  • CNN - Headline News
One think missing here is that HLN (Headline news) is CNN. So the bottom two are just spliting up different CNN studios, but they are both owned by Turner Broadcasting and HLN is a sub section of cnn.com.
  • Nielsen Ratings
All right genius, Neal may have quoted a website you don't like, but feel free to check the Nielsen ratings yourself, from their own website if you'd like, the numbers are the same. So, are you going to dispute Nielsen as a reliable source? Yeah, didn't think so, so quite being a liberal joke.

I have to give credit to CNN for enacting their 'no talk show host' policy.. they had to try something different, because they were almost dead last in ratings. Of course, this policy isn't helping any, but it's the best their liberal minded leaders could come up with.

And yes, there is an ACORN Administration.. it's called the OBAMA Administration. (Uh oh, you can call me out on that one, that's just my opinion. I have to be careful though, I might be called racist.)

Just admit it, if there was a market for liberal, progressive, Left-Wing radio shows, News Shows, or anything of the such, someone would start them up. I mean, everyone should be listening to Air America... but I guess nobody wanted to listen, so nobody wanted to advertise.. so they went bankrupt!

Is there absolutely anything in this world that Obama could do that would make you not support him? Honestly, anything?
  • @libertarian voter
to be fair, drudge doesn't retract stories. he just disappears them from the site when they prove to be false. we've seen it happen a number of times.
  • Ratings
All those other networks COMBINED barely add up to half the FoxNews ratings. And this is only 2009. I can't wait to see the desperation from the left heading towards the midterms. They'll probably urge Odumma to declare martial law and shoot down FoxNews' satellites. LOL
  • Jeremy right on Wolf
I start out watching Blitzer, just to see what the other crap is doing or NOT reporting and have actually fallen asleep! Or get irritated at his snide remarks.

CNN needs help in their lineup.
  • Hey 3, your ignorance is showing
Drudge as you put so derisively, is just a collection of links from many sources. The story on CNN is from, get this, MSNBC. Isn't that one of your favs?????

Your credibility department is in the basement.

I think Bertha Lewis might disagree with you.
  • Conservative flavor
My satelite service has a neat thing on its interactive service. It shows you the top five shows subscribers are watching in either the Eastern part of the country or nationally. At any given time Fox News trumps any other news source both regionally and nationally.
My liberal sister-in-law says she prefers watching MSNBC but she sometimes watches CNN to get the conservative "flavor".
Is this out of touch or what?
  • @3mbw and the Drudge Report
    3mbw:
Do remember that the Drudge Report has never had to retract a story that it has put up on its site.
  • Ban on radio hosts?
I am sure that is why they are in 4th place. This so called ban. I guess Larry King switched stations. Silly conservatives are worried about tv ratings rather than helping the country. No shock to me. Conservatives thought Reagan was a good president
  • Fourth place?
Of course it's fourth place behind itself given that HLN and CNN are owned by the same company ...
  • Ratings
    "Got this from Drudge ...."

    Real reliable source... Yea right.

"Hey ... CNN! How's that ban on radio talk show hosts as guests working out for you?"

Doing wonders for them in the credibility department.

"it it any wonder that the ACORN Administration absolutely HATES Fox News?"

There is no ACORN administration. Anyone thinking that should watch some real news instead of FOX.

"Seems the people in this country don't share that hatred."

    Oh yes we do.
  • CNN
I watch Fox News, but I'll flick back and forth, during commercials and such, just to check out 'the competition.' The problem with CNN isn't really the message, although it is blatantly obvious, but simply their broadcasters. They're boring! And some of them are just plain weird! Mostly boring though... Fox News also keeps things flowing; the shows are mostly only 1 hour long, and then it's on to different personalities. I mean, on CNN some shows, especially that boring moron Wolf Blitzer, goes on for HOURS, and it's agonizing. I'm up for differences in opinions, and that's why I try to watch their programs, but I just can't get through them.
  • SOOOO funny watching the libtards panic!
after they lost so bad Tuesday. They are all curled up in the fetal position sucking their thumbs crying.
  • the truth hurts
It seems that the leftist owned and controlled news channels are being left in the dust by Fox news. Now that does put a bit of a thorn in the side of the president who gave his nomination acceptance speech in front of a Parthenon looking facade....
