REJECTING ALL OPTIONS

So .. how weak does America look now?  Well, that's not all bad, is it?  After all, last year Europeans responded to a poll by saying that they wanted to see a weaker United States.  The Community Organizer may not be giving the American people - at least those in the producer class - what they want, but he's determined to make Euroweenies happy.

What am I talking about?  Obama and Afghanistan, that's what.  The dithering is back.  President "Sort of a God" has rejected all options presented to him for troop strength increases in Afghanistan.  He wants all plans redrawn and he'll give them some consideration upon his return from his Asian trip.  In the meantime troop morale in Afghanistan is tanking.  Understandable, when your Commander in Chief projects international weakness.

Make no mistake:  Obama's continued dithering will cost lives.  With every day that passes we're discovering that this man is completely and totally out of his league.  He should be wondering the Southside Streets of Chicago registering voters, not leading our wonderful troops.

America projecting weakness around the world ... Change you can believe in.

Good.  Wish I could have seen it.

You know .. this could be a regular feature on Nealz Nuze .. the Government Moonbat of the Week.  Shooting ducks in a pond!  The hard part would be choosing just one.

Today's choice would Rhode Island Democrat Senator Jack Reed.  Like many of his colleagues, Reed was asked the following question: Where in the Constitution does it say that the government can force individuals buy health insurance?

This question has caught a lot of politicians off-guard.  Princess Nancy, for instance. Her response was .. "Are you serious?  Is that a real question?"  Nancy, you see, didn't know the answer.  Strap that twit up to a lie detector and you would discover that she has never even read the Constitution, much less dedicate herself to honoring it.  Actually, let me back up for a minute.  Princess Nancy knows the answer but she just doesn't want to say it.

So the latest victim of this question was Sen. Jack Reed.  First he says that he would have to "get back to you on the specific sections."  Yeah; I'll just bet. Well, I'm here to help, so I'll make his research a little bit easier.

There is no point is perusing the Constitution looking for sections to justify the government takeover and mandate of healthcare.  It isn't there.   Senator Roland Burris could also use a little refresher on this one.  When asked the same question, Burris sighted the Constitution's line about providing for the "general welfare and health" of the public.  The only problem is that it doesn't exist.  Nowhere in the Constitution does the word "health" appear.  Burris would be a past Moonbat of the Week winner.

But Senator Reed wasn't through:  He went on to say, "But it is not unusual that the Congress has required individuals to do things, like sign up for the draft and do many other things too, which I don't think are explicitly contained [in the Constitution].  It gives Congress a right to raise an army, but it doesn't say you can take people and draft them."  Okay ... let's stop right there.

What is Reed saying here?  Basically .. that the Congress doesn't need Constitutional authority to act.  The political class just does what it wants, and makes excuses later.  There are absolutely NO citizen mandates outlined in the Constitution.  The Constitution was written to control government, not the people.  This is a simple concept lost to most politicians.

Senator Jack Reed didn't stop there (though he probably should have).  He went on to say, "[The Constitution] gives Congress a right to raise an army, but it doesn't say you can take people and draft them.  But since that was something necessary for the functioning of the government over the past several years, the practice on the books, it's been recognized, the authority to do that."  Do you see what Senator Reed is saying?  He's telling us that, in his view, the people exist for the purpose of facilitating the functioning of the government.  The government isn't there to serve us .. we are here to serve government.  This is precisely the response you would expect from a member of the Party of Government .. .the Democrat Party.

FROM A LISTENER

Yesterday I told you about Chicago's Thug Mayor Richard Daley, who blames the shooting at Fort Hood on "America's love of guns."  Thought you might enjoy this reaction from a listener.  John says: Blaming guns for killing people is like blaming dollar bills for insanely spending themselves in Washington on entitlement programs.

Absolutely.  But I'm sure that these politicians in Washington who are bankrupting this country and your grandchildren's futures .. I am sure they will find a way to blame it on the dollars themselves rather than just simply looking in a mirror.

Another listener .. this time on Twitter ... said that if guns kill people then pencils misspell words.  That about wraps it up.

We're learning more about Major Nidal Hasan.  We now know that many of his colleagues thought that he was dangerous.  They thought he might go postal.  They couldn't fire him though.  Why not?  Because he was a Muslim .. and they didn't want to go through all of that "discrimination" nonsense.  So ... 13 people are dead.  PC dead.

TERM LIMITS BACK ON THE RADAR

The popularity of term limits seems to rise and fall with power in Washington.  When the Democrats rise to power, term limits suddenly become a big hit with Republicans.

My libertarian instincts make it tough to support term limits.  Term limits would mean that I would not be allowed to vote for the candidate of my choice.  But .. .as many libertarians will tell you ... I'm not the perfect libertarian.  Perhaps it's time.  Maybe it's actually time for a movement dedicated to voting out every single incumbent in Washington.  True, a lot of good people would be forced into retirement. The upside is that a pantload of really bad people would be sent packing at the same time .. and future politicians would be much more eager to toe the line.

With all that being said, Senator Jim DeMint has introduced a constitutional amendment, which would apply term limits to all members of Congress.  The amendment would limit House Representatives to a maximum of three two-year terms and Senators to a maximum of two six-year terms.

Do I think it has legs?  Not a chance in hell.  There is no way that these politicians in Washington, particularly the ones we have running the show, would essentially vote themselves out of office.  I mean, some of them like Barney Frank have absolutely no "real world" experience!  What would he be qualified to do?  Fry French fries?  Flip burgers?  Run a homosexual prostitution ring?  OK .. I know that was his boyfriend, but at least he knows where to go for advice.

ALL ABOUT FAIRNESS

Princess Nancy is trying hard to convince you that government knows what is best.  So far, I haven't seen ANY evidence that would lead me to believe that this is true.  But she continues to believe that the government is perfectly justified in forcing you, at the point of a gun, to purchase health insurance.  She was asked by a reporter whether or not she thinks it is fair to send people to jail who don't buy health insurance.  And her response was that she believes "the legislation is very fair in this respect."

Care to guess who the pundits are calling the most powerful politician in Washington?  That would be Nancy Pelosi ... the woman who thinks it's just fine for the government to slam you into a jail cell if you don't buy stuff the government wants you to buy ... is the most powerful person in this country.

It's too early for a drink ... but what the hell.

PAYING FOR GRADES

I know a lot of you are outraged over this government school in North Carolina.  Rosewood Middle School in Goldsboro, NC is selling test scores to students in order to raise money for the school.  Twenty test points will cost students $20.

Here's how it works: "Students can add 10 extra points to each of two tests of their choice. The extra points could take a student from a 'B' to an 'A' on those tests or from a failing grade to a passing grade."

Folks .. our government schools couldn't get any worse than they already are.  Look at it this way, these students will probably learn more about math and problem solving or something by participating in this little ploy than they would sitting in the back of a government classroom listening to a government bureaucrat.

Too late.  They nixed the idea.  But ... it's a government school, so look for more asinine ideas to come.

Ever since the bailouts began, and government began to expand its reach, the airline industry would eventually become a victim.  It seems the unions are going to ensure that this happened.  Pushed by the AFL-CIO, the Obama administration is "taking its first step toward trying to fix the ailing airline industry."  You know what that means .... More government!

So there is going to be some sort of forum, organized at the request of the AFL-CIO, which will be closed to the public and the media.  (How's that for transparency!)  The unions are loving their pal Obama in office.  They'll thrive ...  we'll suffer.

Republicans in South Carolina are censuring their own Lindsey Graham for being a RINO.

The latest Gallup polls show that Republicans have now surpassed Democrats as the public's choice in the 2010 congressional elections.

You know the Democrats are desperate when they turn to Bill Clinton for advice on how to pass healthcare legislation.  Maybe they could make him the sex addict czar.

AIG's CEO is frustrated by Obama's pay limits.  Something tells me he isn't going to get a lot of sympathy from the wealth envy crowd.

Despite what the lamestream media tells you, not only are crimes against Muslims down, significantly, since 2001 but there have been about the same number of crimes against Christians and far more crimes against Jews.

Liberals can't compete on the radio and now they are slipping when it comes to book sales.  Who knows .. maybe we will soon have segregated New York Times best-seller lists!  Or a Fairness Doctrine for books!

Now here's a question for you to gnaw on ... Does Obama Think Tea Party Activists Are On The Same Level As Islamic Radicals?

No matter how much the Republicans warn us about this cap-and-trade scheme, the Democrats will push forward with it nonetheless.  The latest is how it would stop any form of economic development requiring federal permits.

Apparently moonbat Alan Grayson's challenger down there in Central Florida is quite a character himself.

Feminists have a new idol, according to Camille Paglia: Princess Nancy Pelosi.

Well this column really puts it out there ... Barack Obama despises America.

Joe Lieberman says he has "no other choice" but to filibuster a health care bill that contains a government-run health insurance option.

How absolutely ridiculous does this sound ... A man claiming to have been Barack Obama's homosexual lover and another claiming to have Obama's Kenyan birth certificate say Laguna Niguel attorney Orly Taitz asked them to lie in federal court.

Anyone who willingly seeks out the presidency must be missing a few screws.

Don't show this one to Belinda.  How dirty is the money that you handle?

A New Jersey judge ruled that a quadriplegic has the right to bear arms even though he can't hold a gun or pull a trigger.

New research suggests U.S. states with wealthier, better educated and more tolerant residents are also happier on average.

Say what you want about politics, but George W. Bush and his wife Laura are classy people.
