It's looking more and more like we had some big-time failures in intelligence in the matter of Major Nidal Hasan. He's the Islamic goon who murdered 13 of our soldiers and injured 27 others at Ft. Hood, Texas.
Today's big revelation would be that our intelligence folks new that Major Nidal Hasan was communicating with Al Qaeda. This would include the counter-intelligence division of the U.S. Army. They knew it .. but did essentially nothing. Now we're wondering how the people charged with keeping us safe could know that this Islamic thug was trying to contact Al Qaeda, and then surmise that iut was all part of his academic research.
Now we have all kinds of internal probes going on. Internal probes don't bring back fathers, mothers, sons and daughters. Internal probes aren't a salve for grief.
Our intelligence agencies work under which branch of government? That would be the executive branch. The boss would be Barack Obama. Now ... do you think we're getting the full story on Nidal Hasan from the Obama administration? Sorry, but I certainly don't. No ... I'm not saying that Obama is responsible for the intelligence failure here. I'm just suggesting that I don't really expect to get the full story with The Community Organizer at the helm.
...I will hand our health care system over to the government.
This is the story of Congressman Jim Costo. He's a Democrat (big surprise there) from California (another big surprise). Costo decided that it could help the government seize control of our health care system, but there was a price. Some big bucks would have to be spent in his district. So ... here come the big dollars in the form of $120 million dollars for a medical school ... and there goes his vote in favor of PelosiCare.
Don't you love the way congress works? There are probably dozens of stories just like this one.
Last week we had a caller who cited U.S. infant mortality statistics as a reason for his support of a government takeover of health care. He believed, as many do, those absurd statistics which show that we are No. 47 ... or somewhere around there ... infant mortality.
I was uncharacteristically gentle with this caller. I told him to go do some research on the issue and call us back. Specifically, I suggested that he look at the ways that different countries define infant mortality. We never heard back from him .. and that's not surprising.
Here's a general overview for you. When you compare infant mortality statistics you need to look for the definitions. What, for instance, constitutes a live birth? In the United States any infant exhibiting any sign of life is considered to be alive. It doesn't matter how small, how premature or how much it weights. In countries like France, the Netherlands and Ireland they don't count the birth as a live birth unless the infant weighs more than 500 grams or the mother was ay least 22 months along in the pregnancy. Other countries won't count the birth as being a live birth unless the infant survives for s specified period of time.
Check your definitions, my friends, before you buy into these infant mortality statistics. All may not be what it seems.
After months of indecisiveness, Barack Obama finally has his strategy for Afghanistan. He is going to pretty-much honor General McChrystal's request and will send four combat brigades and thousands of support troops. Looks like the dithering is over ... for now. At least we finally have a decision from the President. I'm happy to say that leftist panties are already in a wad over this one.
Let's take Barney Frank. Slobbering Barney has already decided that he will oppose a troop increase in Afghanistan. He says that he opposes the troop increase because people in his voting district face greater threats than al Qaeda. Barney the Bombastic believes that the federal government should be spending more on domestic priorities rather than on wars. He says ... you'll love this ... crime and global warming pose a greater threat to voters in his district than does al Qaeda. He says, "There are cops in my districts who have been laid off. And there are people in my district who need more protection from criminals than they need from al Qaeda.
Thank you Barney. We're so glad to have you in the congress. Without great minds like yours we might have gone on thinking that the Taliban with a nuke might present more of a threat than global warming. Stupid us. Glad you're around to keep us straight (so to speak).
Thanks to a little Supreme Court decision we know as Kelo v. New London ... private property rights in America are basically nonexistent ... at least when it comes to government. Just like many freedoms and liberties we thought our government would never infringe upon, property rights got the proverbial guillotine chop in the Kelo decision. For those of you who are government educated, here's a quick reminder. Kelo v. New London essentially established that the government can seize private property and sell it to another private individual or corporation to develop. The reason? Increasing tax revenue. Simple as that.
Years later, the Kelo case is finally seeing some semblance of finality. The whole debacle started when Pfizer decided that it wanted to expand its facilities in New London. So the city of New London won the battle and was able to seize private homes and turn the property over to Pfizer. It was perhaps the worst Supreme Court decision we've ever seen. Years later, the condemned homes have been destroyed and the site is nothing but a bunch of weeds. That, it seems, is the way it will stay. Pfizer has decided that it is going to close up shop in New London and move elsewhere.
So there you go. The property that became the symbol of private property rights - the property that was seized by the government and turned over to a private entity for development - is now nothing but a pile of weeds with no plans for development
Don't you just love watching the power of government at work?
In 230 years the federal government of this country has NEVER required the American people to purchase any consumer item or service. Now, if PelosiCare passes, you can be jailed for five years for refusing to buy health insurance. There's more of that change you can believe in. Happy?

Talk about the Muslim shooting in Fort Hood continues. The latest big news to circulate is the fact that Nidal Malik Hasan claimed to be a devout Muslim. No drinking ... wanted a wife in a penguin suit ... the whole bit. But the media has now become outraged after discovering that Hasan frequented a strip club near the base. Well, this isn't all that unusual for Muslim men. They love to subjugate their women, but they're certainly not averse to the idea of a little lap dance once in a while. Women are mere objects to some of these men. We had similar behavior from some of the 9/11 Islamic murderers. If they think that their 72 virgins are going to look anything like those women at the strip club, they're going to be mighty disappointed. Who said they would be women?
Guess who is back at the government trough? Fannie Mae! After being seized by the government last year, Fannie Mae may have to ask the government taxpayers for more money. The company is unable to sell $5.2 billion in tax credits to Goldman Sachs. Last week, the treasury decided that Fannie Mae couldn't sell $2.6 billion in low-income housing tax credits because it would result in a loss of tax revenue. Overall, we have poured $60 billion into this sucker.
Now here's an idea! Since our federal government has done such a wonderful job of running something so simple as a mortgage company ... let's turn our health care over to these incompetent jerks!
The Beltway sniper, John Allen Muhammad - a Muslim - will be executed this evening. This Islamic goon killed 10 people .. shot them all with a sniper rifle. These were completely innocent people. One was simply filling up her car at a gas station. Another was mowing his lawn.
Hopefully he won't be saved at the last minute by some appeals court. He's earned his execution .. and it will be a cause for celebration. I do have a question, though. Why lethal injection? This guy drilled a hole in the trunk of his car so that he could stick the barrel of a rifle through and kill people in cold blood; and we're going to lay him down on a gurney and slip him a Mickey?
As usual, I have a better idea. Tie him to a post in the middle of a field. Tell him that he is going to be shot through the heart ... but don't tell him when. Let the agony build. Let him stand there for hours ... perhaps days. Every once in a while someone can fire a shot from a hidden location into the dirt at his feet. Then a voice can come out of the woods: "Oops! Missed! You hold on, John, while I go get another bullet. Be right back." Finally someone can fire a shot that shatters his knee. "Damn, John! I forgot to allow for windage! Hang in there pal, need another bullet. We'll be right back to finish you off." Then, about an hour later ... the coup de gras. We could put all of this on a pay-per-view channel. I'd pay.
Chris Dodd is going to unveil his financial regulation bill today.
Dick Morris says that the shooting in Fort Hood was an act of terrorism.
I love this .. thanks to Barack Obama and the Democrats running the show, it's beginning to look like the late 1970s all over again!
The foreign papers say that Obama did not attend the Berlin Wall ceremonies because they were not centered around him.
But Obama DID manage to send a video message to the Berlin wall celebrations.
This whole healthcare debate comes down to one thing: do you trust the government to determine what is best for your life? The answer should be obvious, folks.
British spies managed to foil a terrorist plot by a suspected al Qaeda operative to blow up the New York subway.
Thank you, Rush.
The White House has indicated that is won't rule out using budget reconciliation rules in order to pass healthcare reform.
Pelosicare will take our country one step closer to bankruptcy. All of this just so the Democrats can have more control of you, your life and your decisions.
This article pretty much sums is up: government force is at the heart of Obamacare.
Barack Obama campaigned on the idea of bringing America together, and it turns out that his administration has achieved quite the opposite so far.
The Supreme Court turned down last-minute appeals from the DC sniper mastermind John Allen Muhammad. Good riddance.
This story is certainly making the rounds. An Obama protester who was apparently beaten by union thugs.
As of right now, 58% of Americans believe that a Republican will be our next president.
Do you remember Louisiana Rep. William Jefferson, convicted on federal charges of bribery, fraud, money laundering? The feds want to lock him up for up to 33 years.
Republicans say that the Democrats are putting their agenda ahead of the country. Same could be said for the Republicans too.
Republican National Committee Chairman Michael Steele plays the race card.
I guess this is what they mean by free speech in Cuba.
Communist goods are making a comeback. That won't last long in a free market economy.
Somalia Muslim pirate goons are at it again. Where is that cruise line that was offering pirate hunting excursions?
