"When plunder becomes a way of life for a group of men living together in society, they create for themselves in the course of time a legal system that authorizes it and a moral code that justifies it."

Frederic Bastiat

A Republican congresswoman has really managed to stir the puddin'. North Carolina Rep. Virginia Foxx made a speech on the House floor, and in that speech she said that people have more to fear from Democrat healthcare legislation than from terrorists. She says that it is the greatest threat to our freedom. Foxx said that she believes "we have more to fear from the potential of that bill passing than we do from any terrorist right now in any country."

Well durned if I didn't say pretty much the same thing my own self just last week! Smart gal, that Foxx lady.

The MUSLIM terrorists targeted people. They killed 3000. We fought back. The loss of the 3000 people will be mourned forever by friends and families and will be remembered by Americans. America, however, recovered. This country will survive the ISLAMIC terrorist attacks.

It may not be so for Obama-PelosiCare. A government takeover of our health care system will do more than the Islamic terrorists to cause permanent damage to our Republic. The amounts of money we will have to borrow from China and Europe to fund this takeover will be a burden on generations of Americans to come. You can't say that about the Islamic terrorist attacks. The terrorists didn't rob tens of millions of Americans of their sense of independence. ObamaCare will. The Islamic terrorist attacks did not permanently reduce the quality of health care in the United States. ObamaCare will. The Islamic terrorist attacks did not destroy health care innovation in the United States. ObamaCare will.

Virginia Foxx is right. The Islamic terrorists can only dream of harming America the way the Democrats takeover of health care will.

THE CONSTITUTION AND HEALTHCARE

When it comes to achieving the Democrats dreams and schemes, there is nothing that will stand in their way. Not even that pesky little thing called the Constitution. Republican Senator Orrin Hatch put it all in perspective recently. He does not believe that the Democrat plans for healthcare are justifiable. He says that if the federal government can force Americans to buy health insurance "then there is literally nothing the federal government can't force us to do."

Ain't that the truth?

First it is healthcare. Then what? What comes next for the Democrats to achieve their goal of making you more and more dependent on government? Orrin Hatch's point is that right now, the Constitution still remains a "barrier" for the Democrats. But if they get their way with healthcare, the levies will be broken. There will be nothing stopping them from trampling over what is left of our Constitution.

And the White House doesn't seem to have a problem with that. Robert Gibbs was asked just yesterday whether White House lawyers had reviewed the Constitutionality of Obamacare. Robert Gibbs' response was that the White House is not seriously concerned about this.

Not seriously concerned? What is there to be MORE concerned about than upholding the foundation of this country? Then upholding the Constitution. Didn't The Community Organizer take an oath to protect and defend our Constitution? And now he's "Not concerned"? And if you will remember, Nancy Pelosi had a similar response last week. When asked about the Constitutionality of her healthcare plan, she actually thought the reporter was joking. She chuckled, "Are you serious? Is that a serious question?" Yes, Nancy. Yes, Robert. Yes, Obama. We are serious. And it is about time you get serious too before you completely destroy what is left of this great country.

HARRY REID --- LIAR

Harry Reid has some gonads. He is accusing the Republicans of not having any healthcare plans, when he himself technically does not have a completed healthcare bill to show the world. Last week, he sent off pieces of healthcare legislation for a CBO cost analysis. So the Republicans said they wanted to see the bill that he sent to the CBO. Well the truth of the matter is that this bill hasn't even been written yet. He is waiting for the CBO analysis to come back in order to decide which direction he wants to take. Then he took a shot at the Republicans for daring to request to see this elusive bill he submitted to the CBO. Reid said that the GOP health care plan "remains a secret, unless perhaps it does not exist." He goes on to say, "I fully understand if your plan is still under development, and would not presume to suggest that you publicly share draft legislative text for even an individual element of your plan, let alone an entire bill, before it is finalized."

Unfortunately for Harry Reid, the Republicans do have healthcare bills. Three of them. And they have been on the table since May and June of this year. CNSNews has the list:

In May, Republicans in the House and the Senate formed a bicameral coalition to produce the130-page "Patients Choice Act of 2009."

In June, Sen. Jim DeMint (R-S.C.) introduced the "Health Care Freedom Plan," a 41-page proposal.

And in July, the Republican Study Committee, under the leadership of Rep. Tom Price (R-Ga.), unveiled the "Empowering Patients First Act," a 130-page plan.

Harry Reid is desperate. So are his Democrat friends. They know that they are losing this battle to get their healthcare plans passed. So now they are complaining that the other side doesn't even have a plan. Shouldn't we be thanking these Democrats! Oh we should be so thankful ... at least THEY have come up with plans to take over 18% of our economy!

KIDS ON FOOD STAMPS

An analysis was released this week by the Archives of Pediatrics and Adolescent Medicine. Sounds like a real snoozer, eh? But it found that nearly half of all children in the United States will be on food stamps at some point during their childhood. Considering the current recession, those numbers could be even higher. The study suggests that nearly every American knows a family that has received food stamps or will in the future. Broken down on racial lines, 90% of black children are expected to be on food stamps at some point during their childhood compared to 37% of white children. No other ethnic groups were included in the study.

Much of this is about expanding food stamp eligibility and thus teaching Americans how to become part of our culture of dependency. And ... to open this bag of worms again ... much of this is about adults having children that they know they cannot afford to raise. But who's watching, right?

Well ... here's your latest cost estimate on the PelosiCare bill from the house. It's $1.2 trillion. This is a small price for the looters when the aim is control over the people. It's a huge price, and likely to double, when the goal of the people is independence and liberty.

While the big battles are being fought in Washington, Democrats are quietly racking up smaller victories that have been on their wish lists for years. The Wall Street Journal has more.

Uh Oh. Now this is just not going to pass muster. It seems that ALL of the active ethics probes being carried on by the Democrat-chaired ethics committee are focused on black lawmakers. Bunch of racists, I way. We need a quota overhaul here.

Do you wonder why Al Gore refuses to debate the global warming nonsense? Could it possibly be because he has a huge financial stake in promoting this fraud?

Here's a hard luck story ... but the Texas Lottery Commission has this one right.

Just what the Republicans need ... a civil war.

Seems that the voters in Iowa are starting to figure out that they were conned by this hopey-changey thingy. It's not just in Iowa.

And if you're still signed-in to Obama's hopey-changey message, for goodness' sake don't read this. You don't want to find out that to The Community Organizer, it's all about money .. money flowing his way.

Jeremiah Wright is back in the news. This time over a video where he praises Marxism. Sounds about right.

Suspended for a half-game? Hell, this thug should be out for the season.

Ford, the only Big Three auto maker not to take a government bailout, recorded a billion dollar profit, thanks largely to restructuring and renegotiating union contracts.

And then we get this news ... Taxpayers are unlikely to recover their full investment in General Motors or Chrysler.

Has anyone read the Copenhagen agreement? What exactly are we about to get ourselves into.

Hillary Clinton is doing a slam-bang job of handling the Middle East peace process. Or not ...

Obama says he wants to get serious about creating jobs. Wait, wasn't that what his economic stimulus package was for?

According to Obama's chief dog washer, Valeria Jarrett, the GOP is becoming more and more extreme and marginalized.

Is this the future of the Republican Party?

A report from the Congressional Research Service shows that the United States has the largest energy reserves on Earth. But because of our government, we can't do a darn thing about it.

What does immigration enforcement have to do with national security? Here's something the Democrats (and some Republicans) don't want you to see.

An analysis found that 3 million registered voters are dead and 12 million are ineligible to vote.

Here in our home base of Georgia, $1.8 billion in stimulus money created/saved 16,000 government school jobs.

The media is warning that despite GOP victories today during elections around the country, the Republicans still have a long way to go for 2010.

The government of Venezuela is having to ration water, and the leftists blame this on ... capitalism??

A massive wind energy project off the coast of Massachusetts could be held up indefinitely because ... it could harm the rituals of a local Indian tribe?

"Dumbing down" ones resume has become common place in this economy.
