WHY IS FOX NEWS CHANNEL UNDER ATTACK?

Because it's effective, that's why. I'm really enjoying this orchestrated Obama Administration attack on Fox News. It's the same old story line ... Fox News is biased. And it's the same old flawed story line. To prove bias these leftists continually invoke the name of Hannity, O'Reilly or Beck. These, in case you haven't figured it out, are opinion shows.

During the presidential campaign I challenged my listeners to come up with an example of biased reporting in any of the NEWS content on Fox News. They couldn't.

The left is so accustomed to controlling the media they just can't stand it when someone strays off the reservation.. and does it with such devastating effectiveness. Remember, Fox News has ratings way and above those of CNN. It's no wonder the left is upset.

  • WHY IS FOX NEWS CHANNEL UNDER ATTACK?
I just heard another vidtape which shows that ACORN lied about kicking those two film-makers out and calling the police were lieing was released today. Coincidenece?

I don't like to hear people argue, I like a debate. If I wanted to hear people argue I'd move back in with my parents (even the Fed couldn’t print enough money to have me do that)."

    LOL, that was funny!!!

Anyway, no an argument is not fun, but you ask like Fox is the only one doing that. Have you TRIED to follow a "discussion" anyone has with Olbie? He argues with his own people!!! Bill Maher has been yelling for years (but he's not news is he?) they ALL do it. Not just Fox!
  • foxnews
obama will talk to every badguy on the earth but foxnews think about it
  • MSNBC #1???
Looks more like number two to me.
  • MSNBC's Slogan
So, did anyone else notice that MSNBC's slogan is, "The place for politics."

That sounds like it would promote a certain point of view if ever I heard one. Heck, during the campaign and through the inauguration they practically declared themselves the Obama News station.
  • msnbc
when i become unsure of my conservative views, i go to msnbc for a good dose (5 min. max) of what i don't want. Obe always sends me back to the right. And yes Obe, you are being laughed at, alot.
  • @ Joyce
I don't like to hear people argue, I like a debate. If I wanted to hear people argue I'd move back in with my parents (even the Fed couldn’t print enough money to have me do that). I think that’s the thing... shouting over someone doesn’t make you more right, and I don't think it conjures up any more truth than making a sound, fact-backed debate. I have little respect for Hannity and O'reilly when they refuse to acknowledge that an opposing OPINION has the same merit as their own. Those guys have built their careers on waking up each morning, looking in the mirror and saying 'I love you, SOO much. You are my everything, and I am nothing without you.'

Touching, in a way, yet still thoroughly disturbing. Hannity is the worst... O'reilly is a blowhard and is in love with his voice, but he digs up some great facts from time to time. Hannity is right even when he is wrong and when anyone turns the tables and asks him a challenging question, he dodges. I saw his interview with Michael Moore, and while it was for the most part cordial, there was little substance that came of it because Hannity spent the whole time trying to take personal jabs at Moore instead of debating the merit in Moore's opinions. Hannity came off as a snide bully instead of a person interested in having a point by point exchange of ideas.

There has to be a realization that there is no such thing as 'real America' ...America is what we as a society make of it. If we elect representatives that decide to remake the flag with 50 crescents instead of stars, that is not "un-American" because it was Americans, through the conduits of their elected representatives, that decided to make that hypothetical change. What is un-American is what is unconstitutional. Nothing anyone says, be it Conservative, Liberal, Communist, Atheist, Marxist etc… is un-American in any way, and no one opinion is any more correct than another. Facts, on the other hand, are stubborn things, and the spinfotainers on the Fox prime-time line-up are masters of taking facts, developing an opinion based on that fact, and then making the opinion the new fact, rooted in their spin. The “death panels” discussion is a perfect example of this.

  • Fox News is the only one that. . .
Fox News is the only one that will discuss the fallacy of global warming . . uh sorry . . climate change. I believe in climate change too, it's called the four seasons. I guess this is news to CNN, MCNBC, ABC, CBS and NBC, but not to Fox News. So who is the legitimate news organization now?
  • Buttspeak...

I guess bowing is okay for the media to do.

Alabamastan I did not see the Tim Phillips interview so can't say. I have seen Rachel get outrageous so it is in her.

If any of you guys think ANY of the media can't get LOUD then you are very mistaken. And what is so wrong with it anyway? Like I said, that's when the truth sometimes comes out.

    Don't be so sensitive!
  • butt speak????
    hell........ who farted??????
  • Joyce and Forrest
Joyce, I happened to catch Rachel Maddow interview the leader of the health care rally organizers (Tim Phillips, president, Americans for Prosperity, I think). You could hardly call him liberal. It was a bare knuckle confrontation, but she was still civil in tone, if not in message. It's what forrest is talking about.
  • Butt Speak!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
HA! That's my laugh for the day.
  • We're taking our cues from the UN?

  • Fox News
    Honestly!
How can a remotely intelligent person not see this act of desperation & cowardice.
It is now and has been a 7 to 1 contest for Fox News for several years now.
ABC, CBS, NBC, CNN, HLN, CNBC, MSNBC Plus print media and the ever so relevant Entertainment industry.
7 to 1 and you think you have an issue to complain!
Cowardice and Jealousy is not the way to validate a position and a philosophy.
What we have developing here are clear and precise lines of being.
Between what can best be defined as
    Americans & Americant`s!

"john daily" is buttspeak for jon stewart on the daily show. it takes a little while to get used to buttspeak. it's kind of like cockney that way. but it eventually starts making sense. ;-)
  • FoxNews is under attack because they are currently the biggest single threat to dp power.
The GOP is no longer a worthy target, so they move down the priority list. Fox isn’t in lockstep with the dp like everybody else. They aren’t world citizens properly ashamed of their nation and in thrall of hussein and socialism.

Their news stands out simply because they don’t always accept the dp narrative unquestioningly, and they don’t always leave out the obvious stories and parts of stories the lockstep channels do. I see a lot of room for improvement, and think FoxNews’ dominance is more about how lame and biased the rest are.

Notice comrade axlerod is dp political advisor talking to former dp political advisor George S., who’s now working for a station that is getting creamed by FoxN in the ratings in all evening time slots. Notice also comrade axlerod doesn’t give one single example to back up his accusation, and George is considerate enough not to ask.

Lol, olbie is getting all happy because without Fox, he wouldn’t be third, behind O’Reilly and O’Reilly (because O’Reilly laps him, lol) Unlike O’Reilly, who knows what he is, olbie is a news commentator that thinks he’s a news anchor (he probably barks at his reflection). Notice he defers to the dp narrative, if the dp WH says it, it must be true.

It’s not like Fox ran a fake story with fake documentation on hussein just before the election. Where is the precedent for hussein to demean the Office he holds by engaging in a petty war (while he ignores a real one, and real threats to the USA), with a news channel and specific news commentators and radio talk show hosts?

Sure the ‘respectable’ msm news is independent, like that guy said in the NN RAs yesterday, they just happen to agree with the dp on every issue, parrot the views of America’s enemies, and kiss every commie dictator’s *ss that comes down the pike. Independently in lockstep? Which came first, the dp’s crack or the msm’s nose? Hard to tell, they say they just woke up that way. Snug fit though.

What these political and media hacks don’t understand is they can ‘independently’ gang up and attack, boycott, and officially shun FoxNews, but for now, the viewers still decide credibility and where they get their news. It ain’t FoxNews that’s hurtin’ so bad with the public they can’t even reach the ballpark of their competition. This campaign will backfire on the dp/msm by highlighting their bias and propagandizing. It’s so obvious even dp supporters and people who don’t know what an unattributed opinion (which even the wire services are full of these days) is can see it.
  • I haven't got the heart.....................
    sumbuddy clue Jeff in................
  • seriously?
The white house and the libs get all upset about fox being biased or having "perspective," when at the same time the All Barack Channel is having hour long infomercials about obamacare from the white house, and MSNBC is owned by GE(poised to make billions if certain legislation is passed--MSNBC has reported favorably for those issues) It's clear the left just cant handle having a station that doesn't want to suck up to them.
  • Forrest
That grits saying is funny huh! I had heard it all my young life in Kentucky, first time I heard it on "Alice" I yell to my Mom "Did you hear what she said!!!"

Anyway, Tom Ridge is technically what is called a socially liberal Republican, so that's about as close as Maddow would get to someone who is opposite her opinion. I would be impressed if she had Brit Hume or Jerome Corsi on THEN I would watch.

You are right about the results of dvring regular news LOL!!! It's the only way I can watch four or five of them cause with all the zapping, hey, I'm done in less than an hour LOL, that was funny!

I do enjoy the panels where there is always at least one dissenting guest on, and you are not going to get honest discussion I think unless there is a little shouting. Hence, finding out Ballentine is actually a racist with his "get back to the porch" comment he made to Juan Williams. Truth will out!
  • Who the heck is...

  • ReJoyce
That is exactly how we wound up with the current WH occupant. No vetting by the media. A Journalism major is the Education major of the 90's.
  • @ Joyce
Joyce, I love ya, really I do. And I enjoyed your 'kiss my grits' post yesterday :-)
Yes, I have a DVR - that’s how I manage to watch Beck. But DVR’ing the regular news is a waste of time and effort – it would yield 4 minutes of news and 56 minutes of Scooter Store, Bionic Hearing Aid and Goldline commercials.

You said in your last post...

"Maddow has someone of differing opinion on? That's news in itself. Of course she doesn't have to yell, she agrees with them all to some extent."

One of the great examples I was referring to is that of her interview with Bush administration official Tom Ridge. He most certainly has opinions differing from hers. She was courteous, pressing, and it was an overall great quality interview. She didn't shout over him, or cut him off, and he was a gracious guest. For your viewing:

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oykPN0bzu30

This is the style of commentary that I would like to see more of on Fox's commentary programming. Hannity and O’reilly shout over their guests and make the show entirely about how right the host is. It is narcissism on tap with those guys.

Greta doesn’t count as an opinion maker, she’s the Nancy Grace of Fox… “where’s Kaylee”, Natalie Holloway, Michael Jackson, Bristol Palin’s baby, cop shoots his wife, Paris Hilton and Britney Spears… TMZ stories… that’s what she does. She does the occasional good piece of investigative work, but those are sparrows in the hurricane of tabloid crap which she bases her career on.
  • You go Jared!
And when was the last time any of the alphabet brigade did any REAL investigative reporting? Amanpour is the only reporter on the other channels who has balls, a WOMAN going into the Middle East??? That takes guts.

Greta is back from a trip to North Korea! That's gutsy too.

I've just become tired of media not being the watch dog for Americans like they are supposed to be. Don't take things for face value, check it out and let us know what you find. Check the background of everyone in the White House and those with access to it. Take the bills coming out and go through them to let us know if they have any hidden goodies (they always do).

In other words, do their job!
  • Olberman logic
MSNBC is number one because FoxNews is "not news". That makes as much sense as anything else I have heard from that moron's mouth. It is backed up by quotes from the White House, so it must be true. Olberman can't possibly have an agenda if he is accusing Fox of the same.
  • Fox News
Fox is under attack because conservatives are tired of having the left wing agenda forced down our throats and Fox News is the only station we can readily stomach. Maybe if the news stations (Fox included) were to actually report in a non-biased way then we as conservatives might actually look at other stations other than the only one that doesnt't make bile jump to the top of our larynx. The left wing hates the idea of Fox not playing ball with them and their agenda and therefore does what they do best, attack the people's character to are on and who watch the station all in an effort to make them shut up. I for one am sick of being told I have to be tollerant when it comes to left wing crap and the progressive movement. These liberals who spew acceptance of things I personnaly don't agree with that then tell me I'm the one who's screwed up because I have an opinion can all go fornicate themselves. I will not be silenced any further.
  • Brian Fontana
Jimmy D has awakened in a new persona today, but he still uses the same old shtick - "cry baby".

And where is Shrillary screaming about the right to dissent.

And MSNBC uses the liberal playbook for success...take out the opposition in some underhanded way, then declare yourself morally superior.

    liberal = hypocrite
  • Rachel Maddow is cute????
    Are you Helen Keller??
  • Dosen't Prezbo...
have other things to be concerned about???...
I heard he was going back on the campaign trail with Balloon Boy!!
  • Helen Thomas stood up for Fox...
She told the administration that they could not kill the messenger.,, also K.Turner is right. Most school systems have a block on Neals Nuze, I found out from a teacher that tried to access it. I seriously doubt it was because of all of the pornographic material.
  • Please excuse a piggish comment...
And by the way, Rachel Maddow is about as cute as they come. I realize she bats for the other team, but she's better looking than the bubbleheads on the other channels.
  • Forrest
Maddow has someone of differing opinion on? That's news in itself. Of course she doesn't have to yell, she agrees with them all to some extent.

On the other channels around that same time you speak of we have Joy Behar, yeah THERE'S news.

I watch actual news shows from lots of sources. But what, I'm at work during those hours. Yeah, that's true. It's called DVR!!! Then I can watch it when I do get home. People work many different schedules these days so that excuse is silly. The only news at 6-7 is local for half an hour then so-called national for half an hour, till you get to the Obama love fest.

Mad Money sure. The Daily Show? Gag. Kudlow, eehhhh. Dobbs is ok. Nope, nothing there to inspire me. Still watch some just to get a laugh at what they consider news.
  • Hey Alabama
try checking the "sent mail" folder... I'm sure they're in there
  • Mark - shipping
Be sure to send some kleenex to Glenn Back.
  • holy smokin' flat fish...............................
what a gaggle of dumbass dimwits.......ABC,NBC,CBS,MSNBC,CNN and many more......THEY LIE!!!!!!

you all are so uninformed......if you want real news just take the time and watch John Daily.......he'll give you all the news you NEED!

or you could just pay attention to me....you decide......
  • Why They Call it "Fox"
I watch Fox News because of all of the hot babes that appear for commentary. Even Greta Van Sustern has them on from time to time.

Who whants to watch a close up of Rachael Maddow?! I would rather shave sensitive parts of my body.

BTW: If you don't like Fox, watch something else, or shoot your TV.

    Simple as that!
  • Terrorist Fist Bump - apology
E.D. Hill apologized for the 'terrorist fist bump' comment, and I understand her motive for the poorly-worded lead-in.

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Gj8oIy6Crrs

....But do I really need to see a full body shot in a short skirt to get the straight facts? ...not complaining, it just doesn't look all that serious and professional... no desk, no notes, no nothing. Just a teleprompter and a stool. Maybe that is carryover from her VHI vee-jay days. So, this begs the question... Who is writing and approving what she is reading?
  • Tea Party Protest
Remember when a Fox "news" representative was caught on tape whipping people up for the camera at the Tea Party protest, but then didn't cover the Gay March on Washington a few weeks later?

I do, and there's your example of biased reporting, Neal. You're welcome.
  • oh so cute and snarky
well snarky you may not be bright but your sure make up for it in sass. Ok I'll break it down for you... and read this s-l-o-w. Yesterday I pointed out that Fox news cited the ORIGINAL source of the information, you know the ones who actually were responsible for the quotes. I guess you'd be more satisfied if they cited 'he' in the 'he said she said' situation... but hey read what you want to read.
  • LOL...
This is all political show people. This is literally the equivalent of American Idol politics. This is how they continue to keep us at each others throats while the real bad guys laugh at us for being stupid apes. Haven't you realized this yet? Jesus Christ people. This left vs right BS is an illusion. It is designed to deceive you. It is designed to control you. It is designed to ultimately ruin the American way of life. BTW to all you yuppies that think you are somehow immune to what is going on you aren't. The elites I speak of are pretty much untouchable. Your measily six figure salaries are NOTHING. The police and military that think they are just following orders will do just that until it is THEM who is on the other end of the barrel. These elites are basically making us hate each other. It is almost like dog fighting. The dogs don't really want to fight, but they have been trained to go for the throat. That is ALL this is. These people are social engineers. They know what makes us tick better than anyone. That is why they are so powerful and that is how they made it to where they are. They are professional human manipulators. That is why they must be stopped. Don't allow them to contiue this. We can end this. All we have to do is put our foot down. The tea parties are not enough. If we do nothing we will literally watch our country rott out from under us and we will be so destitute we will no longer have any way of fighting these globalist elites. They know this and that is why they are destroying the dollar. I am sure once they are done killing the dollar off they will make another gold grab just like what has been done before. You have to understand...Gold is the currency of the elites. They laugh at us morons out here in the real world that worry so much about the US Federal Reserve note that is backed by nothing. I mean they literally laugh and snicker at us for seeing value in ANY of the fiat currencies. This stuff is getting worse by the day and yet here we are "defending" poor ol Fox News. Rupert Murdock is loving all of this. It makes his ratings skyrocket. Pfft what a joke...
  • I, like most Americans, work during the day pt 1
I, like most Americans, work during the day. When I get home at 6-6:30 Central, there is no "news" on, only opinion shows. That is as close to news as I, and the majority of the self-informing public, are able to get, aside from internet browsing during downtime on the job. I think that is where the primary complaint is coming from - no one watches the supposed unbiased news during the day). If you're looking at the programming on Fox that people actually watch, which is what the WH is doing, it is blatantly biased, yet even these opinion programs boast that they are "fair and balanced" when they are anything but. Bringing a liberal point of view on the show, then shouting over them and not letting them talk doesn’t give balance.

When someone says that Fox as a whole has a conservative bias, try looking at it from an executive level – someone at the top is saying “I’m going to manage a network, but I need prime-time message carriers. I know, I’ll pick the most conservative guys possible, then SAY we’re fair and balanced, and the stupid public will believe it. They’ll say things that cause controversy, and people will get stirred up and tune in to see what they say next. Ratings will go through the roof and I’ll make a ton of money! And while I’m at it, I want to hire Karl Rove as a key contributor, and the former Bush press secretary Dana Perino, and give Dick Cheney all the air time he’d like. I can do this and still be fair and balanced because I hired Dick Morris, who was an advisor to Clinton, but SURPRISE! he’s not a liberal! Now, if only we could find a liberal advisor to the Bush administration…. Oh, Colin Powell? He’s fake Republican, we need to make sure everyone knows how big a fool he is. Oh, and don’t even get me started on Scott McClellan… Hannity, go out there and destroy him.”
  • I, like most Americans, work during the day pt2
None of the networks are fair and balanced. Only one of them claims to be, and I think that is where the real problem lies. If they came out and made a slogan like “Fox News: The Rock of Conservatism” I don’t think there would be any issue. No one whines about Rush being biased, because he doesn’t claim to be fair.

I think the WH has a legitimate gripe, put I think it is very bad form for them to even raise this issue. Though, I seem to remember Karl Rove and Tony Snow as Press Secretary(I actually liked him, he was a classy guy) harping on the New York Times, along with the opinion spin-masters on Fox.

In the interest of full disclosure, I watch Fox daily, and it is my primary source of spinfotainment. I watch Beck, O'reilly, and Hannity - until he goes off the deep end, then I flip over to Maddow. Speaking of Maddow - when you watch her interview someone of an opposing point of view, she is calm, measured, and lets them speak, and then she says her piece. No yelling over someone, no cutting off mic's, no insults. THAT (style) is what I'd like to see more of from the conservative mouthpieces on Fox.
  • Jeff and ACE
I sent an example of FOX bias whenever Neal would ask for one. This has been going on for years, so no, I'm sorry I don't specifically remember the content of an email sent 4 years ago, and since it was sent through the website, I don't have a record of it.

And Jeff, because I was able to find three examples while watching FOX only very sporadically, I can reason that it happens much more often than those three times. Logic - - see how that works?

By the way, I do think the reporting is biased, but I think it's WAY stupid for the administration to pick a fight with them over it.
  • Heir Odormann
When ever I see Keith Odormanns mug I think of the expression "that guy is not as dumb as he looks, yea no one could be that stupid."
  • Shipping
I'm going to Sams Club today. How much does it cost to send a bulk package of Kleenex to DC and the non-Fox type news outlets? Bunch of crybabies. Instead of crying mommy and flying around the country raising money, how about focusing on THE ECONOMY?
  • Only 3
Wow Alabamastan. THREE WHOLE examples in the entire history of Fox? The Alphabets do 3 bias reports in the first 10 minutes EVERY DAY
  • Olbermann's ratings
By Neal posting this link today it looks like Keith Olbermann might have actually received double-digit viewership.
  • Keith Olberman
    is a card-carrying moron.
  • By the WH own words!
    >>> calling the network "opinion journalism masquerading as news." The White House stopped providing guests to "Fox News Sunday" in August after host Chris Wallace fact-checked controversial assertions made by Tammy Duckworth <<<

By their own words it was FACTCHECKING Tammy Duckworth that got their panties in a bunch. How exactly is THAT opinion journalism? Bet you can't explain that without adding something else in, probably from BO's imagination.
  • BRIAN
The reason you think that the news stations you watch are not biased and that FOX News IS, is because you AGREE with the stations you watch. that's why you watch them!

I agree with others that this attack on Fox News is to set them up to be shut up (or down) when the Fairness Doctrine goes into effect. Next thing you know they'll be calling them, gasp! RACIST!!!

I have not noticed the NEWS portions of Fox News being biased - except for Shep Smith who is definitely a liberal - so I choose not to watch his show. I don't watch their morning show because I find it insipid.

But it's all about CHOICES, people, and Obama and this administration are determined to eliminate our CHOICES! Why? Because millions of people are watching and listening!
  • Mika Brzezinski is the goddess
She's horsefaced like Ingram and Coulter. I challenge you're definition of goddess.
  • Re: Alabamastan Let me get this straight, you sent three e-mails with specific examples and yet you can't remember what they were?
Doctor.. doctor! Alabamastan needs a credibility transfusion STAT!
  • That Glenn Beck spouting his crazy is fact, rather than opinion?
Here's the thing, Beck, Hannity, Boortz and so on are ALL commentators. They comment on the news. Period. If they bring up something that others aren't though, they're in a strange spot.

The question shouldn't be is it news or commentarty, but is it truthful?

It's hard to argue against them when they show 5 minutes of a speech by Dunn. You can't say it was edited out of context then. You have someone like Dunn saying she admires a man who killed 70 million people. That's a fact. The commentary is that Beck doesn't think she should be employed by our government. He's got a point. How smart can you be or how respectful of the people you are hired to serve can you be if you believe that there's not a problem with killing tens of millions of people until you get the public response you get.

How can you argue against that?

Is it news? No. If ABC reported that Beck ran a story on Dunn, that would be news.

Is it commentary? Yes, but only after Beck and his team investigated the facts and put together this story.

Is it a lie? If you think so, prove it.

If you believe just because Dunn and Wallace had kids at the same school that Fox is trying to use this tape to destroy the Prez, what does that have to do with the core of the story? Dunn believes that Mao was a good man who should be admired and emulated... despite killing 70 million people.

Can you honestly justify it? If the source of this video was Wallace, who cares? Seriously. At least you know that he was there and he was a witness to it. He didn't make it up. You have the tape. The tape was legally recorded and I'm sure sold to all of the families who attended the graduation. It didn't have to be Wallace who provided the tape to Fox.

Would you still be saying the same thing if Wallace was out of the picture and the tape still surfaced?

    Wallace is just the scapegoat.

Where is the integrity on the left when things like this come up? If you agree with what was said and thing there isn't a problem with it, why attack Fox? There isn't a point. If you know it's wrong, then why defend her by attacking the person who exposed her? Defend her by saying she's right. Can you do that?
  • Why are you so-called 'Liberals' against free speech?
If your agenda is so damfastic, why can't it stand up for itself in the marketplace of ideas?
  • So-called Moderate Man
Just because you don't like the style of Fox, is no reason to try and paint them as insane just like the administration is doing. Makes you look not so moderate. Maybe Lou Dobbs is more up your alley.
  • MSNBC
the fact that MSNBC is one of those channels you pay extra for doesn't seem to have any relation to its lack of ratings, does it?

i like all you people defending Fox news, i reminds me of the Church of Global Warning adherents when somebody talks back about their Pope, Al Gore.
  • Fox News bias
I have said on these forums many times that I do not personalyl care if fox news is biased or not. It is a provat ebusiness giving their audience what they want. It's a free country. All that said any notion that their bias does not permiate their "news" division is complete and utter BS. Neal wants examples...

Carl Cameron tells President Bush his family is campaigning all over the state for him. He also posts a blog questioning John Kerry's sexuality. He later says it wasn't meant to be published and that it was only somehting he did to send to other Fox staffers. Yea...sure thing Mr. Senior WHite House correspondent. No bias there.

Senior Correspondent Eric Shamn is hosting the news desk and has Liz Trotta on who jokes about assasinating Obama. Shawn's reply? Simple little chuckle and "Tell us how you really feel"

Republicans in trouble regularly identified as democrats.

Ensign affair sat on for weeks while they knew about it. The husband contacted them directly and still not a word until after everyoen else broke it and even then it was minimal.

Fox Producers whipping up the crowds for te party protests to shwo ont he news.

Terrorist fist jabs, madrassas, birth controversies, gay rumors, cocaine rumors all get reported as hard news.

Give it a rest Neal. Your double standard is always there but on this it is way out of whack. By the way when you and other conservatives speak of the liberal bias at other netowrks do you ever limit it to just the "hard news"? Sure thing.
  • Mika
Regarding the comment on Mika Brzezinski as "...far smarter, sexier, smarter, personable, and sophisticated than any of those airhead leggy ex-beauty queens on Fox." I've seen National Kennel Club winners with more personality, beauty and sophistication than Mika possesses!
  • Keith Olbermann
Why in God's name must you post a link to Olbermann of all people?!?! I was enjoying my first cup of coffee, scrolling through the Nuz and *WHAM* there's that moronic mug on my screen. If my keyboard's fried, I'm sending you the bill!
  • neal, your lies are showing
"During the presidential campaign I challenged my listeners to come up with an example of biased reporting in any of the NEWS content on Fox News. They couldn't."

Dammit Neal, this really frosts me.

I sent you at least three emails, each with an example of biased reporting (not on the opinion shows, in the news broadcasts) and each time I was ignored. And now you still lie and say no one could come up with examples. What's the use? You have control and can ignore the facts when they don't suit your adgenda.

And befor ethe rest of you say "why not post them here," I don't remember the specific examples, but I will again start a collection and let you know.
  • Fox News is Opinion Only
I think what is behind this attack from WH is more arcane than the administration just not liking what they report. Political "Opinion" is what The "Fairness" Doctrine is going to go after and they are trying to pain the whole Fox News Network as Opinion so THEY can regulate it. Just give them time to set the stage. They can then take down Rush, Hannity, Beck, Levin AND Fox News! (IMHO)
  • Where can I find intellectual conservatism on TV?
I have no problem with conservatives being on TV. I just wish there were more "intellectual conservatives" from the William F Buckley school . . . people like George Will or David Brooks . . . instead of these Palin-worshipping populist firebrands who are in many cases semi-insane.

I know George Will comes on the "This Week" roundtable on ABC for a few minutes once a week, but why can't he or someone like him get a one-hour show on cable news?
  • Brian you kill me
Brian, we're not crying we're laughing! I think it's funny that the White House is in such a tizzy over Fox having such high ratings. Similar to how funny I think it is when the libs start foaming at the mouth at the mention of Sarah Palin or Glenn Beck. Silly liberals! You think if you can scare conservatives away by calling them bad names like a bunch of fifth graders.
  • @brian
First, I don't watch Fox News. I *did* watch Fox Business News in the morning, until this month when they started airing Imus. Now I pretty much watch BloombergTV.

CNN (Cable NEWS Network) has their own opinion shows: Anderson Cooper, Lou Dobbs, Larry King, Wolf Blitzer, Campbell Brown.
  • Drink the Kool-Aid
Just because Fox refuses to carry Obama's water like the other cable news networks, the administration gets their collective boxers in a bunch.

Fox is a business, and they are providing programming that no other network seems willing to provide. What's wrong with that?

People who don't understand that Hannity and Beck are giving opinions and not straight news are too stupid to vote, just like people who can't figure out a butterfly ballot.

Again, I dare Obama and company to just take away their right to free speech. Watch what happens after they try a stunt like that.
  • Mika Brzezinski is the goddess
Mika Brzezinski (co-host of MSNBC's Morning Joe) is far smarter, sexier, smarter, personable, and sophisticated than any of those airhead leggy ex-beauty queens on Fox.
  • Ratings
The ratings, both on cable and radio, say it all. My guess is that those in White House are the same ones that were bullied their whole life and were always on a team that never won anything. Sadly, crybabies and liberals are of the same ilk.
  • huh?
No wonder MSNBC is in last place.....
  • Administration is a bunch of whiners
to borrow a phrase from jimmy dolan/brian fontana.

To target one media group, along with targeting protestors and businesses that don't toe THEIR line, is just un-American. And stupid, cause it WILL backfire.

And how many watch the other channels for Grace, Behar, etc? My skin crawls just hearing Nancy Grace's voice. Lou Dobbs is ok sometimes. Anderson Cooper used to be better but he's reading someone else's script these days.
  • MSNBC?
Does anybody know what MSNBC is? Isn't that a dial-up internet provider? I'm trying to put it on my Netscape but its not working!!
  • President attacking news channel.....
MSNBC #1? I've yet to know anyone that watches that. I only get videos and quotes from radio of that place. I guess Fox News didn't have enough commentators, ex-jock sniffers that got canned from ESPN, that didn't have a tingle down their bias legs.
  • News Media
Wait I'm lost, MSNBC told Keith and Chris to step down during the elections because they had one sided opinions. "I'm getting tingles down my leg" Remember the chants "NBC NBC NBC NBC".
  • Holy jihad going on?
Wow, way to compare Fox News to terrorists. That is perspective for ya!
  • Fox News probably IS biased
I understand Neal's idea that the actual news segments on FNC are not biased. That's true. But the fact that almost all the commentators are conservative, really DOES make Fox News a right-leaning channel. Honestly, if you are a full-blown liberal, would you watch FNC just for the news segments in between segments or commercials for O'Reilly, Hannity, etc.?

Not that I'm complaining. I like FNC and I happen to enjoy the commentators as well as the news segments. But I don't pretend that the overall vibe is anything other than conservative.
  • Opinion shows?
Oh my bad, I did not mean to say that the station was biased with these shows when the station is called Fox NEWS!!! Conservatives are crybabies. Wah, they made fun of the tv station I watch, I am offended. The funny thing I have seen no proof that other stations are biased liberally. All I hear is that they dont report certain stories. Well, crybabies, that doesnt mean that CNN is biased, it means they only have a certain amount of time to report important stories and they do it for the MONEY, not for politics. I know crybaby consrvatives want the government to control the news, but that is just tough. Conservatives need to get tough. Stop crying if the news story you want is not reported. Learn to change the channel. And stop crying and act like you are offended because someone made fun of a boring news station anyways.
  • Fox Noise
Ever think the problem might be that ignorant people consider Hannity, O'Reilly and Beck to be news programs? That Glenn Beck spouting his crazy is fact, rather than opinion?
  • Fox News
Sounds like Obama is nervous about Fox News! But the administration better be careful; the attacks could just backfire on them.
  • Fox News
Here is a good one. In Henry County GA, my son was trying to use the school supplied computers to do research for a current event. He tried to pull up the Fox News web page, no luck, the web site is blocked. You can only access CNN, ABC, CBS, NBS and MSNBC. By the way Boortz is blocked too.
  • Fox News is under attack because
when they dusted President Obama's butt for lip prints, they didn't find any from the commentators or reporters at Fox. Now there!
