What others are saying

  • Stress / Soros
High Stress Jobs: Note that all of these jobs require huge amounts of social skills... always dealing with people.

Soros: He got his dough through the capitalist system, but now that he has his, he doesn't want you to have yours. He's not just a hypocrite, he's a very dangerous hypocrite: a hypocrite with money to burn.

  • Where's Neal?
Neal's not in the "Stop the Witch Hunt" artwork! He's been snubbed again!
Since when has Neal tried to portray himself as an "average Joe"?
And I guess Maoists loosing their government jobs is a bad thing.
  • OMG Robert Kelly!
I have tried and tried to explain what you did in that post, and never can seem to get the point across to our progressive "friends" on this board.

I think that post just might make things more clear to them--- what an awesome way of explaining the natural market cycle.

    Well done!

Re: Twistedsaint Thank you – I probably mixed a few of your ideas in there as well, hope you don't mind.
    Question is, will snarkybird respond.

Or will I have to post it elsewhere?

he's kinda quiet today, not must to post in response to since NEAL broke the system LOL!

Or will I have to post it elsewhere?

Thanks Joyce, I'll check it out.
  • Speaking of Soros...
He is one of the oligarch global elites I have talking about. You want to see what him and his Bilderberg cronies have in mind for America? Watch this video.

  • What happens when the money runs out for healthcare from p.25 of Health Scare Bill
"3 reducing benefits, increasing premiums, or establishing waiting lists." -- by C. Yankee

Refer to Indian Health Care. Right now, when the money dries up Indian Health Services shuts down. The doors get closed and you are SOL.

In plain English: bend over, grab your ankles, and kiss your....

But then, Snarkybird will just go to his back room, tap his friendly elf (Geitner?) on the shoulder and print more money.
  • Jubilation T Cornpone
    once you mentioned it.....

i don't know who the monster's gonna be. maybe everyone. but i know who the girl's gonna be. she is us!!!
  • @ACE
    Very good post, ACE. Well-said.

"Your ONE vote that can be easily overridden by votes from thousand to millions of other voters who can chose with their votes seize your property, your time and your efforts."

Very true, and why this country is in a lot of danger.

Snarkybird, what say you to this? What is your answer to the mob taking your property by government force?

That is exactly what they are doing with all the entitlement programs out there.
  • Various
Swine Flu - I had the shot in, I think, 1976. Anyway, Carter was in office and everyone panicked then, too. I wonder if I'm immune?

Akron and DNA - hummm...this will certainly hinder hiring faculty and staff. Then again, maybe not.

The Videos - I didn't watch them, as I saw one back in the early '90s. Have been vegetarian since then and I can enjoy my food. I am a political Conservative and a food conservative. I don't have a problem with people who eat meat or wear leather, as it is a choice to be made by the individual. While we're talking about "dirty" food, don't drink that California wine or grapes grown in this country...both are cesspools of over-pesticiding.

Badly paid, stressful work: I've only had five jobs in my career of nearly 50 years. Some were stressful due to the work; some of the jobs were easy, workwise, but the boss was "one of those....." and made it stressful.
  • Well ECC
You do your fair share of attacking, so let's put down our stones shall we?

Be sure and let me know your blog when you get it going. Mine is http://libertarianwoman.blogspot.com for now. I have my own website but it's on hold while researching how all this net neutrality is going to effect me.
  • Minsky's Financial Instability Hypothesis
Minsky's "Financial Instability Hypothesis," simply expresses the “natural process” of human nature with respect to Economics. Economics and free market capitalism have inherent rewards and risks and therefore in its “natural state” free market capitalism is as self regulating as every other natural process.

Take the example of a field populated with grass, rabbits, and foxes... lots of grass means lots of rabbit food means lots of rabbits eating lots of grass; more rabbits means more fox food means more foxes; as rabbits get eaten means less rabbits means less foxes but more grass; repeat...

The natural process is ebb and flow, gradual and constant, and so it is with Economics and free market capitalism.

If you begin with the primes that you can prevent the downturn of financial markets you will hopelessly and frantically engage in a never ending struggle to control something you cannot and thus only make everything worse while never achieving the goal. And while I understand the human spirit when it comes to overcoming challenges I also believe in Ernestine’s definition of insanity, doing the same thing over and over expecting a different outcome.

In fact if you take Minsky to heart you would never try because any success in sustaining a boom market means a longer period of time throwing caution to the wind and a bigger market correction when the time inevitably comes.

In the case of the current financial crisis government interference created an artificial playing field and human nature took over. The risks associated with free market capitalism were transferred and deferred thus encouraging a longer period of speculative euphoria which, because of human nature, grew exponentially making the market correction of 2008 an avalanche.

The reality is while risks can be hidden, transferred, or deferred they are still there; no one can take away the risks, they are always there and they are necessary.

The scenarios that lead to market corrections are important to understand so that appropriate decisions and actions can be taken, not so we can eliminate them. We build houses according to the climate; we do not attempt to change the climate and build all houses the same.

If small market corrections are acceptable then let them occur naturally all the while planning for them to occur so you are protected. In other words, do no harm.
  • What happens when the money runs out for healthcare
Found this on page 25 of the latest health scare bill.

"INSUFFICIENT FUNDS.—If the Secretary estimates for any fiscal year that the aggregate amounts available for payment of expenses of the high-risk pool will be less than the amount of the expenses, the Secretary shall make such adjustments as are necessary to eliminate such deficit, including
3 reducing benefits, increasing premiums, or establishing waiting lists."
  • re: WhoIs info
What I think is more interesting is the DNS host: MAYFIRST.ORG

I'd also be curious whom else Praxis has ties to.... The tinfoil hat in me says there's more to this than just one group trying to get a POV out.
  • @Joyce, Smooth, and Club
I didn’t have a chance to check back and respond so following up this morning:

Joyce, I would love to share that platform idea with you. However, it is too large of a document to post as comment to this forum. It possible that a friend may post it to his blog as either a single or series of posts. However, before we make it public we want to check with the publisher since it is based on that book.

UnSmooth Operator and Club Liberal, I see you responded with your usual immature, childish outbursts, name-calling, false allegations, and other garbage. However, I do thank you for proving my point that the biggest threat to conservatism comes not from its political enemies but rather its alleged friends. How many people do you think you win over to conservatism every time you viciously attack a conservative?

Speaking of blogs, I’m thinking of starting one.
  • badly paid stressful work
The over whelming majority of people in the 15 thank-less jobs cited consists of dolts each avid to shoot himself in the foot through dis-economic government meddling such as central banking, fractional reserve banking, direct taxes, bureaucratic regulation, centralism & executivism that void the practic application of checks & balances, environmentalism enforced by the criminal law with a view to convicting on the basis of mere technical guilt absent any provable malign intent, communitarianism, gun control, stalinist child protective services, communist inspired special civil contrived rights normal people neither need nor want, coddling felons, smoking bans, foreign aid, internationalism, compulsory school attendance policies, a-phonic methods of teaching reading, artificially low speed limits, minimum wage-maximum hour statutes, mercantilism, court ordered anger management & thwarting viable official pursuits such as McCarthyism, police brutality, the populist movement for state rights, massive resistance to socialized medicine & isolationism.

Many of these people would do significantly better were their net & gross pay identical, an unrealizable scenario so long as their beloved income tax, rightly named by Frank Chodorov the root of all evil, obtains.

Have you read his last book? Full of drivel and blaming Bush for everything. How a man that has made hundreds of millons on the free market can be so anti-free market is beyond me.
    By Mike

He's already made his fortune so he doesn't have to be free market based any more! This way, he can eliminate competition. His buddies in Washington will make sure he is protected.

  • Dumbe question:
Where in tarnation did Georgie Sore-@ss get the 50 million in the first place - was it due to his hard work and effort or is he expecting his wholly-owned subsidiary (the Congress of the United States) to confiscate it from us to appropriate it to him?

  • Economics is subject to the one physical law ...
Under the most rigorously controlled test conditions, an organism will continue to do as it darn well pleases ...

And since the number of organisms in an economic system is continuously variable, any attempt to predict the outcome of said system is pretty much doomed to failure ...
  • Yesterday's discussion on Frau Botox's “Healthcare” bill
snarkybird Agreed with the statement that: we have a duty to turn over our private property to the government no matter how much they want.

snarkybird Doesn't see the obvious contradiction of the government having an unlimited right to your property and by extension your time and efforts, not matter how much property time and effort it needs.

But no worries according to snarkybird, we still retain control of our property, our time and our efforts by the vestiges of our One Vote and the limitations placed on the government by the Constitution.

However, snarkybird forgot that part of yesterday's discussion was on the wonders of JUDICIAL ACTIVISM whereby a leftists judge can simply eviscerate rights set out in plain language and create New rights out of whole cloth.

Plain language rights such as Free speech the right of the people to keep and bear arms.

And creating the Right to healthcare and other claims on everyone's time and property.

Snarkybird failed to explain how we can keep control of our property in the face this chicanery by the government.

Again, according to snarkybird , your right to your property, your time and your efforts is protected by the vestiges of your ONE vote.

Examples were also provided of people who voted based on the plunder they would receive.

Your ONE vote that can be easily overridden by votes from thousand to millions of other voters who can chose with their votes seize your property, your time and your efforts.

Again, snarkybird doesn't see any danger to the Republic with people being able to vote themselves property from others and a political party that is all too willing to enable them to do so.

    Why is that?

  • Soros
I majored in Economics in College and one thing I remember clearly is that the economy of a nation does not occur in a vacuum. So Economic theorists can sit around a brainstorm all they want, and create all of their mathematical models about how the economy SHOULD work, blah, blah, blah, but the reality is that - for the most part - none of this can be applied in the real world. There is too much government meddling in the economy for ANY system to work the way it's supposed to. This is why the only system that EVER made sense to me was the free market - and since the government refuses to leave THAT alone, it can't work correctly either. So the lefties use that as an excuse to meddle even more. Wonder how many bazillion dollars Obama and his buddies will waste on this while our soldiers die in Afghanistan...
  • Soreos

  • Swine flu appeared in the seventies
I had a shot for it. Also, it never has been and never will be worse than avian flu or even seasonal flu.
It's a sham to make the Obama administration look like it is "handling" the situation. I said this at the beginning.
    Where has Janet Napoletano been?
  • Hate Crimes
I thought about this when the issue of the Hate Crimes legislation being included in the Defense bill came up, and I think I've come up with a solution. Anyone who murders an individual is clearly targeting people who are alive. Murderers only take the lives of those who have who to take. Living people represent a specific group of individuals, therefore any murder is a hate crime. Oh, wait. Isn't that how our system was already set up? Now I'm confused.
  • George Soros/free markets
There hasn't been a truly free market in
at least 60 years in this country. The left wants to booger-up the market with their vote-buying schemes, and when it blows up in our faces, blame the market.
  • its friday -- anything goes

  • Stressful Jobs
Did anyone else notice that nearly all of the jobs listed can be performed by individuals without advanced degrees? They are also jobs that, in my opinion, people feel "called to do" because they want to "give back". I always enjoy people who choose a certain field (my father is a minister) and then complain about it being stressful and not paying enough.
  • Witch Hunts
Hope the libs enjoy being on the receiving end of the witch hunts for a change. The kind of change they want we can do without. As far as hate crimes go it is only considered a hate crime for a privileged few. Other crimes that are the result of hate for the other side seem to go unnoticed and probably outnumber the pc crimes ten to one.
  • May/Dec
That's May 1st at 00:00:01 AM and Dec 31st at midnight!
  • High stress jobs
I KNEW teachers would be thrown in and figured every slot would be allocated to a teacher. One of the sacred cows of the left is their belief of the poor, underpaid teacher who is one paycheck away from eating from cans of dog food as they slave away 6 hours a day, 5 days a week, 32 weeks a year.

Oh wait, that's right! Teachers are busy all night grading papers...or not since they simply ask the class to hand work to the student behind the as they grade papers in class.

But teachers are busy creating lesson plans! That they can then shelve and reuse the next year and the next year and the year after that.

One of the things that *****es me off the most with teachers is how THEY seem to believe they are in the only profession that requires them to work outside the hours and confines of their employer. That single example of their collective arrogance shows how out of touch they are.

Anything that has to do with dealing with unruly children means nothing to me. These teachers are the same politically correct fools who excuse, permit, and therefore encourage the very bad behavior they whine about.

But I do give them some pity points for their workday starting so early in the morning.
