What do all of these industries have in common? Farm and construction machinery, Tupperware, the railroads, Hershey sweets, Yum food brands and Yahoo?

"Public Plan," or "Government Plan?" Read and decide if you like the idea.

The Community Organizer must be jealous of Argentina's President Kirchner. This woman could give Obama some lessons on controlling the press. Who knows? Maybe she is?

Dick Morris explains how Barack "Houdini" Obama plans to reduce the cost of medical care by taxing it!

Are we spending enough on our domestic programs? Of course not! So ... let's boost domestic spending by another 12 percent! And that's just for one year!

Barack Obama has officially declared a war with Wall Street.

Obama is trying to convince voters that passing healthcare reform would be a boost for small businesses. Are you buying it?

Are voters in liberal states just as fed up as the rest of us when it comes to government spending? We will find out November 3rd when Maine and Washington vote on a Taxpayer Bill of Rights.

Forget a jobless recovery. The economy may be entering a recovery with job losses.

Well now this could be interesting ... Senate Democrats say they would consider an "opt-out" option for states when it comes to a government option on healthcare.

According to Orrin Hatch, some people think that Obama is delaying his decision on Afghanistan until after the gubernatorial elections in November.

Government health care just isn't doing all that well in the polls. Now why would that be?

And this is probably why Obama will wait ... polls show that the Democrats are losing independent voters. Quickly.

The Democrats in the Senate tout that their healthcare bill costs less than $1 trillion. Unfortunately, House Democrats can't say the same.

Princess Nancy insists that the House healthcare bill will include the government option.

What others are saying

  • Copenhagen Treaty
Doesn't this treaty need to be ratified by 2/3 of the Senate before we can be bound by it?
  • Conservative Competition
Personally I think the current climate of the right is benefitial. I think competition is a good thing and it looks to me like politicians, and people in general, are in competition to become more conservative. Think of all the RINO politicians that have been called out lately. If you looked at their voting record alone, you probably wouldn't know they were Republicans if not for the (R) in front of their name.

Now comes the next step; finding good candidates to replace these failures.
  • To 3mbw
You hope. The problem is 3mbw is that I have better information than you do. It is obvious in every single post you make that you come unprepared and you strike out every single time. I mean no offense, but you should probably lay off the Obama koolaid. I know things about these social engineers that would make your skin crawl. The scary thing is that they have adopted control mechanisms from the Third Reich. Think I am joking? Do your research. I have done mine and uhh...yeah...no tin foil hats needed at all. Most of my information is on public record. I just choose to search it out wheras many would just like to ignore it. If you met me in person I could tell you things about the world we live in that would amaze you and I can support it with evidence.
  • 12% in one year? Nice to see somebody’s growing.
Too bad they don’t produce any wealth.

That NYP editorial was doing great ‘til the end. Those CEO’s and upper level managers may have less to give, but they will, or hussein and the dp will just take it by fiat like they are. They’ll funnel it back to the party through their federally funded ‘community’ organizations. Don’t worry, the dp will get their cut. What a racket. If those businessmen “don’t know who they are dealing with,” yet, they soon will.

How could jacking the taxes on the guy that signs my paycheck do anything but help their employees like me and ‘boost’ (now there’s a word with two meanings) small businesses like ours? Around 70% of our business is with small print shops, they won’t be able to hit my boss up for much if we don’t turn a profit because our customers are short on money and can’t buy our parts.

The sfgate job shedding recovery article was amusing. When they say, “Many of those workers will never recover financially,” they can only mean they will be dependent on government to some extent for the rest of their lives (dp policies ARE ‘successful’…at creating government dependents). Economic growth while losing jobs sounds like the economy is cannibalizing itself, which isn’t sustainable.

The dp is considering an opt-out option they can later remove once their system is passed. How long does anyone think the other states will go along until the opt-out states are forced in?

I think hatch is probably right, it’s the dp MO, like the Iraq vote. They pitched such a fit over having to vote on it before the election that year. Weasils.

The dp can say what they want, but they’ll never be able to run 17% of the US economy for under a trillion bucks.

Perhaps the Secret Service is just experiencing more reports of threats.

Scared of kerry? Get that dork out front and center of the dp, he PO’s Americans without even trying.

If you can’t communicate with a police officer asking questions in English, what are you doing driving?
  • Is Rush the Boss?
ECC so by your logic, 100% of the 16% who listen to talk radio think that Rush is the head of the Republican party? And that 16% is going to infect all the rest of the voters out there?

Wow, you sure are giving a small group of people a lot of power. And I seriously doubt that 100% of talk show listeners think that Rush is boss.

Let's take a poll!!!! Anyone else here think Rush Limbaugh is the head of the Republican Party? Speak up.

Anyone here every even think of or hear him being discussed unless ECC and company bring him up????

--- insert here usual smart aleck retort "didn't think so" ---
  • ECC
I don't think you want to work together if you can't just let that go. What do you call a real conservative, maybe that is the problem. Ready to compromise at every issue? Not stand up for your beliefs?

What tactics do you think the 16% are using? Not allowing people like you and Voter to peghole us into Rushbots? I guess you have fallen for the ploy. And yes sometimes you do seem like you are fighting us more than trying to work together so what is your real agenda, one has to ask. There is no real conflict, all you have to do is go google "republicans listening to Rush" and every single item that comes up is a leftist site! DUH! Quit talking about it and it won't be pushed on people. Unless that is what you really want.

So let's find out what you consider a real conservative.

"Maybe it's time to stop wasting time on these forums and get to the real work we have ahead of us."

You're wasting a LOT of time with this crap. And you automatically assumed Voter was a "he", hmmmmm.
  • Ivan's theories
"If Obama does not sign the Copenhagen agreement all deals are off and the New World Order "could" fall apart. I predict that if he does not sign the agreement then we will see another 9/11 type of event in the US as a result to create the kind of crisis that would "require" us to create a one world government. What that could be I do not know."

This recycled conspiracy theory moment brought to you by Fred's Upholstery, makers of quality seat cushions for the NWO black helicopeters.

Seriously though, why do people buy into this garbage? Obama is not likely going to sign the treaty and even if he does it still would need to be ratified by the Senate, and even if it was it does not mean all the dire things that is being claimed.
  • Weeding out the RINO's
"I'm not guilty of anything other than trying to get RINO's out of office and replace them with real conservatives."

The problem is that 16% you mentioned and those like them have self appointed themselves the task of defining who a "real conservative" is. And this 16% uses all kinds of tactics that a real conservative never would. We're supposed to be winning people over to conservatism and the Republican Party, not act like a bunch of school snobs seeing who we can keep out because they're not good enough.

"It is a ploy to try to separate us into subgroups that will work against each other. Voters Remorse is one of them OR has fallen for their crap."

All one needs to do is to watch the news, read the news, or participate in discussions (online or in person) to see that the conflict is real. Last week someone posted that he was ostracized from the Republican Party for making one unfavorable comment about Rush. I want to end the conflict, yet no cooperation from the 16% is forthcoming.

"Now, how can we get anything done, if we don't weed out the very ones who are hurting the party."

So let's establish who is hurting the party. Those of us standing for conservative principles and making our positions with factual points of discussion; or that 16% and their followers that have to resort to wild accusations that are easily discredieted and make us look bad?

    "You haven't been viciously attacked,"

I've been falsey accused of being someone else, I've been called a liberal, RINO, troll, and every other name in the book. I know it says more about the namecallers than anything else but it does give weight to Remorse's obervation.
  • Opt Out (not really)
While I like the idea that a state may opt out of the federal plan, even having that option is not really enough.

Assume that a state decides to opt out. The citizens of that state are still paying for the plan with their federal taxes. True they will not be subject to the rules of that federal program, but at that point they are paying for something, and gaining nothing in return. So where is the incentive to opt out?

Health insurance is regulated by the states. With that said, should there not be a constitutional amendment required in order for the federal government to even be allowed to write any legislation regarding it? Would any legislation in this regard be vulnerable to judicial review and be annulled via the courts?

Yes it is a known fact that the vaccine is more dangerous than the flu itself. It has been proven to cause all sorts of horrible neurological conditions. Furthermore it should be noted that special versions of the vaccine have been prepared that do not contain the adjuvants that cause these problems. It is a fact that vaccines that contain adjuvants such as thermerisol and squaline are soft kill shots. If it doesn't immediately hurt you then it will cause some sort of life threatening condition later down the road. The elites are social engineers and see nothing wrong with killing off portions of the population in the name of saving the environment from humanity. Just read Ecoscience by Holdren. It is all in there.

I'm not guilty of anything other than trying to get RINO's out of office and replace them with real conservatives.

Think about it. When you watch the news, not just FOX but any of them, who is it that is doing most of the complaining about Rush leading the party? The left. It is a ploy to try to separate us into subgroups that will work against each other. Voters Remorse is one of them OR has fallen for their crap. We need to call them on this so we DON'T get sidetracked. As an example, immediately 3 jumped on board with the "who is a real republican". Now, how can we get anything done, if we don't weed out the very ones who are hurting the party.

You haven't been viciously attacked, come on, I've had worse than you've had to endure here. Try arguing with snarky!!!

All the conservatives here can work together as long as we drop the crap about ANY news person being a source for thought. THAT is what is devisive. We all have something to contribute, including them sometimes. Are we going to agree on every point? No. We never have and if you pay attention, heck the Democrats are arguing like crazy amongst themselves!!! But the main points we can work on.

  • I find it hard to believe...
that Obama would not jump at the chance to sign away America's sovereignty in Copenhagen. I am sure that if it is true that he is second guessing this move he will see a fate similar to JFK. The international bankers that Obama represents will not allow him to miss his appointment with destiny. If Obama does not sign the Copenhagen agreement all deals are off and the New World Order "could" fall apart. I predict that if he does not sign the agreement then we will see another 9/11 type of event in the US as a result to create the kind of crisis that would "require" us to create a one world government. What that could be I do not know.

I call BS. I believe that they will still attend and Obama will still sign the Copenhagen Treaty. If Obama values his life he will sign that agreement.

Just so the record will show. I DO NOT condone ANY act of violence against our President. I am merely pointing out that there are forces out there that would consider this an option if Obama disobeys his masters. It happened to JFK and it can happen again.
  • @ Steve on thinking
"You seem to believe the solution is to think just like you and your easily manipulated core beliefs. No thanks."

HAHAHA! The conservatives just keep at it. Where did Voter's remorse say that the solution was to think like him? Or anything about his hardcore beliefs. From what I read, his message was simple, stop being children about who is a "real republican" and get to the business at hand.

BTW, let me agree with Joyce on one point. I think the idea presented last week abiout the news channel is a bad one. I'd prefer to keep the handful of networks that slant their coverage towards our side and the one that makes conservatives look wacky (FNC).
  • @Joyce and Voter's Remorse on conflict
Actually Joyce, you and I, along with too many others stand guilty as charged and you proved his point with the troll remark.

Remorse is right, we are spending too much time argueing about trivial things and it's time we stopped. He's also right about conservatives attacking each other as the vicious attacks I have endured by so-called conservatives here can attest to.

I'm as guilty as the rest. Maybe it's time to stop wasting time on these forums and get to the real work we have ahead of us.
  • Viewing Assignmentt:: CNN shows car chase ending "the right way."

  • OPT OUT
We already have an opt-out option! It's called the tenth amendment. It says, "The powers not delegated to the United States by the Constitution, nor prohibited by it to the states, are reserved to the states respectively, or to the people." Do democrats in CONgress not know this, or are they just ignoring it?
  • Voters Remorse
Again, another person claiming the right is arguing about Rush, etc. Funny thing is, I only hear lefties making the claim that Rush runs the party. And it's amazing how the trolls, opps excuse me I mean disappointed conservatives, only make this assertion on the Reading Assignments thread, ummmmm. Okay Voter, I can see how you could be sorry for voting for Obama. But seriously, there is not the "conflict" you claim. There are many Republicans in Washington that are NOT voting in a conservative manner. THOSE are RINO's and it will take awhile to rid Washington of them. That is what we need all conservatives to concentrate on, not some nonsense preached to us by the lefist media that Rush is somehow telling us how to think or how to vote. Remember, only 16% of America listens to talk radio anyway so really, how much can he be doing?

    Think for yourself.
  • @Voter Remorse
While I appreciate your honesty, I respect your judgment less than a hardcore leftist. You seem to believe the solution is to think just like you and your easily manipulated core beliefs. No thanks.
  • Re: "Obama is trying to convince voters that passing healthcare reform would be a boost for small businesses. Are you buying it? “ - NO!!
    Costs will go UP

    Quality will go DOWN

Bureaucratic red tape will go UP

    Freedom will go DOWN

Wait time for healthcare will go UP

    Life expectancy will go DOWN
  • Re: Barack Obama has officially declared a war with Wall Street.
Why doesn't the Statist in Chief declare war on our real 'enemies', you know, the people who want to murder millions of Americans, the Islamofascists, remember them?
  • < $1 trillion &b college grads
What is the difference between spending $890 billion we don't have and $1 trillion we don't have?

    "Recent college grads lack professionalism"
This is news? Clearly, this has been the case since the year after I graduated.
  • States can opt-out
I love the idea of states being able to opt-out of the government healthcare plan however, unfortunately I can predict what will happen. All of the smart, self-sufficient people will move to the opt-out states and all of the idiots will move to the opt-in states, but when they actually need medical care, they will come to our states and use our resources to get it. Sort of like the way the English and Canadians come to the U.S. when they need good medical care.
  • that's not all the dallas pd is doing
Dallas is sure were i want to live. they have busted people for being drunk when they’re not drunk. and i quote: “It is a common complaint in Dallas that police sometimes arrest those people who aren’t even tipsy. It isn’t part of the current policy to give public intoxication suspects a breathalizer or field sobriety test.”

    see the video…………http://www.the33tv.com/news/kdaf-public-intoxication-dallas-story,0,6652987.story
  • Recent college grads...
I graduated just a few years ago, and let me tell you. I agree with this survey. I was short-tempered, hard-headed, and not open to other people's ideas in general. Several of my young colleges at the office were the same. Our problem was that our whole staff was basically fresh out of school, therefore the entire group just didn't operate. A couple of mentors outside the department told me flat out what I needed to work on, and they were 100% correct. I have since moved on and changed my style to what would be considered a more professional style. It has certainly opened doors that were previously shut!
  • Obama Losing Independents
"And this is probably why Obama will wait ... polls show that the Democrats are losing independent voters. Quickly. "

I would agree completly. I am a conservative leaning moderate in my late 40’s. I have voted primarily Republican since I was old enough to vote but in 2008 voted for Obama as I didn’t think the country could take another four years of George W. Bush, which I felt John McCain represented.

Now after nine months in office, what Obama has done, hasn’t done, and plans to do tells me that the country made a terrible mistake. Things are not that much better, only the slant of reporting the news has changed. Now that Obama is in, they concentrate on the good and ignore the bad. The stock market is its own beast and would have been at 10000 regardless of who won the election. I and many others are having buyer’s remorse.

However, where do we turn? Logically the Republicans, but I look at them and see a party in disarray. Their strongest candidate (in 08 and 12) cannot be nominated due to the Christian Right. Even among the rank and file, I see nothing but conflict. The mainstream condemns the right calling them extremists and the right responds by calling the mainstream RINO’s and phonies. There is too much time being spent talking about a radio talk show host (Limbaugh) with the mainstream saying he and his followers are hurting the party while the right is using loyalty to that host as a litmus test as to who’s a real Republican. Even in forums like here, I find conservatives sniping at each other when they should be working towards the future.

A house divined cannot stand. And if either of these sides totally wins the debate the Republicans end up with another unelectable candidate (Dole in 96, McCain in 08, and if the right has it’s way Palin in 12). There’s many people like me looking for a candidate to support and it’s time you guys stopped your squabbling and figured out who that is.

    We are waiting and watching.
  • Global Agreements
There are too many of these international treaties, agreements, etc., that are conflicting with our constitution and should NOT be signed without congressional approval.
