Darn this guy is good. George Will explains how Obama has established the Social Security COLA as "the capstone to the architecture of the entitlement culture that is modern liberalism's crowning achievement."

The difference between Democrats and Republicans ... according to President Obama.

The White House says that the government's economic stimulus spending has already had its biggest impact and probably won't contribute to significant growth next year. Wait, this was it????

Where does the Constitution authorize Congress to require all Americans to carry health insurance? The Chairman of the Senate Judiciary Committee can't answer that.

How out of touch are Republicans? This out of touch.

Haven't I been saying this for a while, folks? Healthcare is not about your health, it is about control.

The latest Gallup polls show an alarming drop in President Obama's approval ratings ... the worst drop for any president in his first year in office.

Looks like more Americans are figuring out the truth about this global warming scam.

Our Social Security system is going to come crashing down soon. Will that lead to the end of entitlement culture?

Could we be looking at a Fairness Doctrine for the Internet?

Central Florida's incompetent Representative is in trouble for bringing a poster on the House floor that could be construed as promoting his re-election campaign. He also says that Fox News and the GOP are the enemies of "America, peace and education."

Victor Davis Hanson says that the real key to being a "popular" America seems to be to empathize with non-Western totalitarians. Hence Obama's popularity.

Our Health and Human Services Secretary says she will donate swine flu vaccinations to foreign countries before meeting US demand.

Want the latest on the ACORN video sting?

The government in Norway has decided to publish all tax returns online.

According to Webguy and Cristina, many of you were pleased with this DRT story.

I guess this is what they meant by the "peaceful" religion of Islam?

Nope, you don't know me from any other site. I always read all the posts here, (and at Lucianne.com), but usually just keep my mouth shut. You can see why... today I no sooner make up with Tshirt, and then Butt Neckid gets into my s**t for engaging in an apologetic lovefest with him. I just can't handle the virtual stress of everyone hating my cyber-self. (Those are facetious comments for the benefit of those with no sense of humor)
  • Social Security
If social Security goes belly-up you can bet your boots to bathwater that everyone who holds funds in this system will file a HUGE class-action suit to get their money back, adjusted for inflation and including interest and punitive damages. It will be tied up in the courts for years, but in the end the citizens will win and the US Government will have to declare bankruptcy in order to get out of paying the settlements, which will be in the Trillions...

    Bye-Bye United states of America.

  • BTW...
I almost forgot to mention this earlier. The Hate Crimes bill has passed the Senate and Obama will soon sign it into law. If you have anything negative to say about this administration and the New World Order you better say it now or FOREVER hold your peace. Now THAT is some change I can believe in.

you right, and i am sorry. i shouldn't have treated you like that.
  • X continues to disappoint
Don't be coy, you did infer the one channel scenario. What is wrong with you deciding which channel best suits your criteria? Do you read just one newspaper? Just one magazine? What is wrong with your idea is it's boring.

CNN started out with the approach you are talking about but they went off center. Headline news, used to be able to turn on at any time and get the low down on what was happening in the world in 30 minutes.

I don't think you get it. Your idea sucks. It's unrealistic and who would decide on the participants? If you try to reduce it to one that is. YOU? No thanks.
  • t-shirt doctor
Sorry. I made the assumption that you were smart enough to understand that the $399 figure was a hypothetical statement meant to elaborate my point. I'll spell it out for you next time. (By the way, you're probably also to dull to note that--unlike you-- I made my first point without being insulting or calling names. So, you certainly won't catch the irony in your statement referring to yourself as an "adult".

    You're funny.
  • damn it!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Joyce M/B.............tiny urls......for cryin' out loud sum of us have short term memor...................
  • Joyce disappoints again
"Sorry if I disappoint you, ummm no not really. Your idea is definitely anti-free market. Reducing it down to just one channel is un-American frankly. Use your channel selector."

Joyce, you don't get it do you. Where did I advocate that the other channels could not exist. If it did come down to a one channel situation, it would be because the people choose to watch the non-biased intlligent programming instead of the others. How do you get anti-free market out of that?

Again I ask you, what do you find wrong with a channel focused soley on news, intelligent commentary, and roundtable discussions that represent all view points instead of what we have now which are channels biased either right or left?
  • one channel period!!!!!!
all of you dumbasses lissen up.......

we will have only one channel.....the bugs bunny and road runner channel....they will have all of their friends on with them.......

if you think that whoever supplies gas to our troops will only make $1 off of it, then i will say, it's time for your nap. don't worry about adult things. go play.
  • Example of what I've been talking about in regards to the media not doing their job
On CNN ACORN's Bertha Lewis claimed that the Philadelphia office threw out Giles/O'Keefe. But did CNN follow up on that? No, they just took Lewis' word for it, along with the Philadelphia Inquirer, the Washington Post, NPR, and the New York Times. And now we have another video showing they did indeed have a lovely little discussion.

    http://www.bizzyblog.com/2009/10/21/god-bless-james-okeefe-and-hannah-giles-acorn-phillys-and-medias-related-follies-exposed/

If CNN was doing their job, they should have been all over this and at least contacted O'Keefe.
  • X
Sorry if I disappoint you, ummm no not really.

Your idea is definitely anti-free market. One channel would sound more like a government controlled entity, otherwise you wouldn't be able to keep it to just one now would you? Hence the BBC analogy. The other channels have the opportunity to fact check Fox if that is your worry and so far they haven't found anything of substance. But Fox has found plenty on the other channels that they get wrong. Or miss completely, in the interest of looking out for the people. Which is their job, that the MSM does very poorly.

I have noticed CNN getting away from the stridency of the left so maybe there is hope in the future for them.

Reducing it down to just one channel is un-American frankly. Use your channel selector.
  • Rep. Buyer's scholarship fund hasn't helped a single student
The biggest accomplishment so far of U.S. Rep. Steve Buyer's scholarship foundation has been to send the Indiana congressman to play golf with donors at luxury locales such as the Bahamas and Disney World.

  • $400 per gallon gas
$400 sounds like a lot, but that doesn't mean the "super rich" are profiting from it. I'm sure that $400 figure includes about $399 costs incurred in delivering that gas, in addition to the cost of the gas product. That gas has to be transported by truck, helicopter, etc. Truck convoys need security. Security personnel get shot/blown up/otherwise injured. Injured people require medical care, which is expensive. I'm sure there are a great many other associated costs, and they all add up. It's terrible if they add up to $400 per gallon, but people aren't necessarily getting rich from it.
  • Joyce diappoints me
Joyce, what do you find wrong with a channel focused soley on news, intelligent commentary, and roundtable discussions that represent all view points instead of what we have now which are channels biased either right or left? A channel selector does no good if there is nothing to tune into. And who mentioned a BBC? My suggestion is a news channel which would hold everyone accountable and get away from some of this nonsense and useless filler programing.
  • $400 for a gallon of gas
Pentagon officials have told the Defense Appropriations Subcommittee in the House that every gallon of gasoline delivered to US troops in Afghanistan costs American taxpayers $400.

“It is a number that we were not aware of and it is worrisome,” said Rep. John Murtha, chairman of the subcommittee.

According to reports, the US Marines in Afghanistan use 800,000 gallons of gasoline per day. At $400 per gallon, that comes to a $320,000,000 daily fuel bill for the Marines alone.

I saw on the news this morning that even your dog now has a "carbon paw print". The story said that an average sized dog had the equivalent carbon footprint of driving a land rover 6000 miles per year. What crap! As if anyone needed anymore indication that this global warming / climate change stuff is a load of BS.

They should just go ahead and add your pet's carbon footprint to the cap and trade bill and get it over with.
  • Self Defense
Alright Granny!! I know it would have been illegal, but I would have cheered even louder had she followed him into the parking lot and double tapped his butt, or even better, empty the magazine into him. Killed by a grandmother, I wonder if his worthless mother is proud?
  • X
Have you lost your mind!?! Let's just have a BBC while we're at it.

That was dumb. You have to do better than that.

You have a channel selector, use it, and leave the rest of us alone to watch what we choose. Free speech, free choice.
  • @Frank
Newsflash: George W. Bush was never obsessed with reminding people of his stautus. Obamessiah,on the other hand, has an "I WON" mantra. He can insist all he wants, but his behavior and actions are certianly not that of a "Commander-in-Chief". Obama is now the "war president" and he's doing everything he can to lose it. Speaking of "sheep", 52% of voters and the MSM combined put this jackass into office in spite of his radical beliefs abd background. The MSM has it's head so far up Obama's ass, they can taste what he eats.
Let’s see…a 23.7 trillion dollar projected deficit, a socialist takeover of private industry and corporations, and foreign policy kowtowing that makes Jimmy Carter look competent....and a poll drop that reflects a lot of buyer's remorse.

How's that "change" working out for ya, Frankie?
  • Re: Haven't I been saying this for a while, folks? Healthcare is not about your health, it is about control.
It's not going to lower costs, it's going to INCREASE Them.

It's not going to Improve the quality of care, it will DECREASE it.

It's not going to give you more choices, it will ELIMINATE them.

Obviously we need to do a better job of educating foreign drivers regarding American driving best practices and standards.

All Americans should spend more time on routine vehicle maintenance to ensure their motor vehicles are operating in a safe and satisfactory condition.

  • Call this what it is...
This is the New World Order. I am glad people are discovering the truth about the NWO carbon taxation. They are basically taxing you for breathing. You understand this is part of the NWO eugenics program right? People will "realize" very quickly that it won't make sense from a taxes standpoint and will not have children. The gap between the rich and the poor will grow larger and then only rich people will able to have children and pass on their genes. Since the poor will still want to try to have children somehow they will spend almost everything they have just to be able to have children to take their place as slaves to their elites.
  • climate change
Yes, there is climate change. Anyone who does not see this does not look at geological history.
The earth warms up, the earth cools down. Its been doing that for hundreds of millions of years so why should now be any different?

I also noticed the Atlanta Urinal Constipation doesn't allow comments on their stories. Hmmmm

Good God! I wouldn't live in Norway, not if they paid me the salary of the highest guy on their list. Nor would I want to live with neighbors who elected politicians that actually believe that this is a good idea.
  • Bush, 22% and dropping when he left office!
That's an excellant rating rating see how divide the country is between The Party of No,Independents and The Democratic Parties!
The War-President,who reminded us daily that he was "THE" Commander-in-Chief, Gunga-Din Bush, left office with a 22% rating, now that's something to brag about isn't sheep?
  • Opinion Polls
When it comes to opinion polls, I guess I am like most other people. When they say what I agree with, I tend to accept and promote them. When they disagree I tend to dismiss them as inaccurate or rigged.

I think the drop for Obama could have been predicted. After all he's been in office nine months and the novelty has worn off. He has not been the miracle cure for our nations ills he was promoted to be and people are starting to realize the costs (finacially and otherwise) of his proposals.

Great story on the 70 year old woman who shot a robber. Be sure to read the comment section and look for the comment from one of the responding officers, he explains why they took her downtown for questioning and how cops really feel about crime victoms who fight back (hint: they love them).
  • A thought to end the week.
There has been a lot of talk about Fox News this week and I wanted to throw out a thought.

I don’t think that the major problem is either the liberal bias of CNN, MSNBC, etc or Fox News’ pandering to the extreme right of the Republican Party. Rather I believe the problem is that there are just too many news stations and not enough news to warrant it. Is there really enough going on for a half dozen cable channels to operate 24x7? We used to get along fine with a few 30-minute news segments a day and newspapers and I think in the end we were more informed.

So to fill all that extra time, the channels resort to filler programs and opinion shows. However, in the quest for ratings instead of intelligent shows like Crossfire, the McLaughlin Group, the Capitol Gang, and Hannity and Colmes where a variety of political perspectives participated; we get people like Glenn Beck who appeal to the fringe and Nancy Grace tracking the latest missing person case.

I think what we need to have one news channel whose priority is actual news, asks the tough questions to member of all parties and taking the side of neither, bring back political roundtables so all sides can be debated, eliminate opinion shows, and bring the entire spectrum of political viewpoint to the table for discussion. Then let’s go to radio and establish news stations with the same priorities. We all would be better off.
