HOW TO ARGUE WITH A GLOBAL WARMER

The answer is easy ... you don't. And we learn this lesson from none other than the grandfather of the global warming scam himself: OwlGore. He was at an event recently where, for some very unusual reason, he agreed to take questions from reporters. But ... uh oh ... somebody dared to challenge Gore. So what's the logical solution? Turn off the mic! Turn off the mic before Gore starts sputtering and his eyes roll back into his head. What's the matter with you people! You don't challenge the Great and Powerful Gore when it comes to global warming! Don't you realize he won the Nobel Peace Prize? Oh wait ... so did Obama. But never mind! Sometimes the prize actually means something! So pipe down with your questions and criticisms. Save them for anyone who opposes Gore, not for people who support him or the Great Gore himself

Betcha that will be the last time he takes questions. Maybe not for another four years.

What's really going on with Gore?

OK ... think about this. Al Gore was Bill Clinton's dog-washer for eight years. He hardly distinguished as vice president. His tenure started out with him at Mt. Vernon looking at a bust of Thomas Jefferson and asking a tour guide "Who is this guy?" Things went downhill from there. Now Gore has found his place in the world. He got on the phony global warming scam and made it his own. He made a movie and got an Academy Award. The Norwegian Moonbats gave him the prize. Global warming is Al Gore's life. It's his entire reason to exist. Every ounce of power, pride, respect and credibility Gore has is tied up in his endeavors surrounding global warming ... or, as we call it since the Earth started to cool down ... climate change. When someone picks up a microphone and starts to challenge The Great and Powerful Gore on his home turf that person has to be shut down --- or turned off. Gore knows that the whole global warming bit is a fraud, but he cannot turn it loose. To abandon the global warming cause is to erase himself from history. He ain't going there.

    Haha, you can't be serious!

A news source that bills itself as "The Right News" is clearly a partisan news outlet. Moreover, cursory research into Fred Singer reveals him to be clearly connected to, let's see, EVERY major corporation that has an interest in debunking man-made climate change, and has HIMSELF participated, admittedly, in multimillion dollar disinformation campaigns.
  • Just to point this out.
Gore didn't get on global warming after Clinton left office; if you trace global warming back to the first time it got major public attention, press, and funding, you will find a presentation to a Senate subcomittee headed by, you guessed it, Al Gore. I want to say that this was in 1988. Al Gore's entire career since then, going from some little Senator to VP, followed from the press he got over funding and championing global warming research.
  • I hate to to say it
But Gore is right and this guy is wrong. Whether the polar bear is endangered has to do with the number of bears in existence and the current state of ecological niche. Whether the number is increasing or decreasing is relevant to their *future* but not their *current* status (which is "vulnerable" not "endangered").
  • rejoyce
    your article claims CO2 isn't a pollutant.

OK, neither is water. Try breathing it. Or giving too much of it to a plant. Or drinking say, 10 gallons of it in a day.

Since it's just water, you should be fine.

Or, because even though not toxic, in excessive amounts, it can cause lots of problems.
  • @Commander Vime
lol! Well done...that is a perfect analogy of how these global warming hacks think.

  • Global Spinning
Last May 22 I was out at wunderground and noticed something really scary.

    ----
    May 22, 2009 Rise: Set:
Actual Time 5:50 AM EDT 8:20 PM EDT
Civil Twilight 5:19 AM EDT 8:51 PM EDT
Nautical Twilight 4:41 AM EDT 9:29 PM EDT
Astronomical Twilight 3:59 AM EDT 10:11 PM EDT
Moon 4:03 AM EDT 6:38 PM EDT
Length Of Visible Light: 15h 31m
    Length of Day
    14h 30m
Tomorrow will be 1m 30s longer.
    ----

Tomorrow will be 1.5 minutes longer!?!??!

Well, I quickly put together a computer model and discovered that before long,
if this trend continued, days could be weeks long.

I checked back the next day and sure enough the day was longer and the next
day was forecasted to be longer too. Oh my gosh. This was going to play heck with my flexible work schedule!

Well, I tracked it for several weeks then saw my predictions weren't matching
the outcome. Days were not becoming more than 24 hours long.

I saw my mistake. Nights were getting shorter in the same amount!

    So I modified my model.

And I discovered that before long there would be no night at all!

This was terrible. All nocturnal life would be threatened.

I've tracked the data since then and, while the days have not progressed at
the rate I expected, I can only attribute this to random fluctuations in an
    extremely complex system.

At its core, I know my model is sound. After all, I run it on a super computer.

We must act NOW to prevent this catastrophe. I contend that this phenomenon
of global spinning is a product of people walking more forcefully when they go
westward than when they go eastward. I've commissioned a study and found that
many houses have doors facing westward and people leave their houses
energetically in the mornings and return more wilted in the evening.

I propose, nay demand, a moratorium on building any houses with west facing
doors. East is best. Or towards the equator, if east is really too hard, but
    you'll need a gov't waiver for that.

Won't you please join this effort?

    For the children...
  • @ Snarkybirdbrain
I really hope you are being sarcastic. "the polar bear has gone extinct several times over the course of the earth's history" "some decided to become polar bears again"

Please tell me that is sarcastic... if not, I will have lost all faith in humanity...

To Stan's #1 Fan: "the science is settled on this" ??? you need to get your head out of the sand and note that the science is NOT settled on this, unless you're allowed to cherry-pick the data you want, make your graphs, and then conveniently lose said data so that no one can check it.

You wackos make me ill. There is overwhelming data that we're not affecting the climate. There is overwhelming data that the sun IS affecting the climate.

The questions we need to ask now are who stands to make money off this scam and where are they getting the money to keep the scam alive?
  • ManBearPig
Did Gore ever stop ManBearPig? We all need for him to address that too.
  • can you hear me now??????????????
get your carbon credits right here.....

  • @Polar Bears
I love polar bears. You people didn't even read the link I posted on polar bears. Did you people know that the polar bear has gone extinct several times over the course of the earth's history? Every time the earth experienced a warming period in the pre-SUV days the fragile ecosystem couldn't sustain the polar bear. Some grew fins and evolved into whales and seals when the iceberg they were living on melted into the sea. Some chose to grow black fur and move to modern day Jellystone National Park to become our modern Grizzly Bears. The rest died. Eventually when the earth cooled and the artic once again froze, some decided to become polar bears again.

This cycle has happened numerous times in the past as our climate has heated and cooled because Polar Bears are fragile creatures that cannot tolerate any deviation in their preferred climate whatsoever. That's why the ones you see in zoos across the temperate parts of the world are either holograms or robots.

Even the rise of 1/10th of a degree will case environmental armageddon!
  • No big surprise
Typical leftist reaction - if someone disagrees with you, silence them. His wife, Tipper, lead the "fight" to promote censorship.
  • But wait, there's more...
I agree completely with your analysis, Neal. Add to this the fact that young Master Gore was raised and groomed to be President and he missed the mark, which was inconceivable and naturally fostered the accusations of election theft. What's more, he lost to someone that his party would deride for the next ten years as an idiot.

The establishment media keeps the Global Warming myth alive because they feel sorry for Gore since he lost to Bush and this is their way to make it up to him. They realize that it is Gore's only foray to the mainstream. They didn't do enough to help him steal the White House and this is their mea culpa.
  • Look...
Gore failed at selling global warming because it is bad science. That is obvious now. Cap and Trade is a scam. It is a scam meant to prop up the New World Order. The reason they stopped him from asking questions is because they are shills for the New World Order and Gore specifically. People, understand this...There is a REAL thing out there called the New World Order and it is crunch time for them. They are trying to destroy the US Dollar so that the American people will be FORCED to comply with whatever they suggest. This was PLANNED. ALL of this was planned. 9/11,the erosion of freedoms and liberties, the market collapse, and then the eventual adoption of a new reserve currency. I mean hell look at America now! The government is pretty much telling us that we are all terrorists and because of that our lives need to be monitored as closely as possible to ensure we do not commit acts of terrorism. We have been preempted. What could be next? ALL OUT TYRANNY. That is what is next. How can ANYONE refute this now? It is no longer just slapping you in the face it is kicking you in the face and yet there are some that still deny the truth. I am shocked.
  • polar bears
Are they the only guideline being used? Since hunting was regulated approx 1960, their numbers have doubled. There is some reduction in some areas, but with the increased numbers, some say they can "weather" this climate change. Again, how can humans do anything to help here? The scientists do NOT all agree on these issues.
  • 10 years ago Al Gore said we only had 10 years left
How's that working out for you?
  • Stan Fan
How in the world can you even guess that the earth will become inhospitable to life?? There is no evidence that CO2 causes temperatures to rise. The earth is no warmer now than it was in the 30s. The only thing you have are models that don't even match the atmospheric conditions that we find today. If the models can not accurately show what we have now, why would you believe that they can predict the future???
  • Mankind's Bid To "Save The Planet" Is Nothing But A Joke.
First of all, we are nothing more than temporary guests here on earth. Every species of creature, including man, has a beginning and ending point. Every 24 hours, another handful of species of creature goes extinct here on earth. Look up the charts, they're pretty cool. Every day in the Amazon, they are finding new, never-before-seen fish and other aquatic creatures.

    But my point is this...

How can man ever stop nuclear war when the threat is growing rapidly by the day? Rogue countries and terror groups are gaining information, materials, and delivery systems.

How can man stop volcanoes, especially the Yellowstone volcano, from erupting and ending all human life on earth?

How can man stop meteors, asteroids, and comets from smashing into our earth and ending all human life on earth?

These are very serious questions that we have absolutely no solution to. When God wants us, he will take us. But make sure you recycle your bottles and cans.
  • Oxy Moron Morons
You can't be an "environmental journalist." These people are not objective, they're just environmentalists posing as journalists, thus the negative reaction from the crowd.

Do you notice that it's always a left-wing organization, speech, or gathering where "officials" stop you and try to intimidate you for asking a question? I would have told that old geezer to get the hell out of my face.
  • i think global warming is good
I agree, if Minnesota had rain forests I might consider moving there.
  • i think global warming is good
i think global warming is good for us. because the earth was a lot warmer in the past. way past.

At the start of the Eocene, (55 - 34 million years ago) the continents were close to where they are now, but the average annual temperature in arctic Canada and Siberia was a balmy 18° C (65° F). The dominant plants up there were palm trees and cycads. Fossil monitor lizards (sort of like alligators) dating back to this era have been found in Svalbard, an island north of Greenland that's now covered with ice all year. Antarctica was home to cool temperate forests, including beech trees and ferns. In particular, our Earth had no permanent polar ice caps!

    what's wrong with that?
  • Al Gore
"During January 17, 1993 pre-Inaugural tour of Monticello, Thomas Jefferson's home, shown live by C-SPAN, Al Gore asks of busts of George Washington, Benjamin Franklin and Marquis de Lafayette: "Who are these people?"

Hilarious. I had forgotten this one.
  • Causes and solutions
"Stop worrying about the cause of what is going on conservatives and worry about a solution." Jimmy Dolan

It seems to be that if you don't know the cause, your "solution" may make things worse. And destroy our economy in the process.
  • remallard
you really ought to view the link I posted. Esp the part about polar bears being endangered. To quote:

    "" Are polar bears endangered?

Scientists predict that, if current warming trends continue in the Arctic, two-thirds of the world's polar bears could disappear by 2050. At the most recent meeting of the IUCN Polar Bear Specialist Group (held in Copenhagen in 2009), the world's leading polar bear scientists reported that of the 19 subpopulations of polar bears, eight were declining, three were stable, one was increasing, and seven had insufficient data to make a determination. At their 2005 meeting in Seattle, the group reclassified the polar bear as vulnerable on the IUCN World Conservation Union's "Red List of Threatened Species," noting that the species could become extinct due to sea ice changes. Individual countries with polar bears have reclassified the species as well. Citing to concerns about shrinking sea ice habitat, the U.S. Department of the Interior announced on May 14, 2008, that it is listing the polar bear as a Threatened Species under the Endangered Species Act. Russia lists the polar bear as "a species of concern." The major threat to the polar bear is shrinking sea ice habitat due to climate change. Other threats include pollution, poaching, and industrial disturbances. Hunting could become a threat if populations are not well managed.""

So, was Gore wrong about the ruling on the movie?

just because you want to prattle on for days about things doesnt mean you get to - esp at a forum where others are waiting to ask questions.

    how rude.
  • Weather
You know I noticed that it was pretty warm (even hot) during the first week of Oct. here in good ole VA. It would almost make one think global warming IS happening...

But then I remembered that toward the end of May this same year the weather was cooler than it normally is around here.

Conclusion: climate shift. The temperature has gotten neither warmer nor cooler than normal, earth just decided to change WHEN it was going to do so.

You do all know that the axis the Earth spins on WOBBLES, right? What do you think happens when it wobbles a certain direction? Weather changes. And in another 100 years or so it will wobble itself back.

And lets not forget recent sun activity...
  • @snarkytard
The man at the microphone was attempting to get Gore to address the issue of 9 separate incidents in the movie that the British government found to be in error, among them the question as to whether polar bears status of endangered (presumably from anthropogenic global warming) should be revised because their numbers are shown to be increasing, not decreasing.

When Gore deflected he attempted to get him to address at least one point before the willing accomplices amongst the audience censored him.

There that was simple...Im even a government school graduate and I could understand that one.
  • Conservatives cannot do anything
The environment is only keeping all of us alive, former VICE PRESIDENT is trying to help save it, and all conservatives can do is complain about it. Stop worrying about the cause of what is going on conservatives and worry about a solution.

My theory is that after conservatives saw Bush holding hands with an arab they want to remain on arab oil forever
  • global warming
paging dr. tshirt! paging dr. tshirt! where are you silly boy, you smoking hot studly man you? are you sweating back there because of all this global warming *tee hee hee hee hee!*

global warming is a serious issue folks and it's something we need to address right now. it's not because the earth's temp is rising. it is not. it's because the temp keeps getting warmer and warmer. the planet has a lot of water locked in ice at the poles and if it were to melt it will swallow up our coastlines. fortunately we don't really have much ice and it cannot do that even if it were all to melt. even though i disagree with algore's claims, we must still do everything we can to limit greenhouse gases because global warming is one of the biggest challenges facing us. cap and trade must be implemented and even though it will hurt the economy, the benefits to the environment will be unmeasurable. and, as an added bonus, the new "green industries" that the law will create are poised to restore our economy to make us the leaders of the world again! so even if you're one of those cavemen who disagrees with al gore, you should at least support this law just for the boom it will be to our economy!

read all about the 'docs thoughts on this here:
    www.dr-shirt.com/global-warming-is-a-scam-but-support-it-anyway-cause-we-all-gonna-die-from-sweating-too-much.html
  • Dont you love it when...
Some hack says, "the bottom line is...." and then goes on to spew bullsh!t for another 5 minutes....
  • It's sad.
When you think about it, Al Gore had not lived up to his Daddy's legacy as expected and after being a senator and VP who did nothing to help the environment, he has grasped at the only thing open that no one can really take away from him. I remember his press conference on the WH lawn with a stack of paper 8 feet high, claiming to solve the waste of the government by reinventing it. He failed at that like everything else and now seems to be failing at this too.
  • Gore may be wrong but...
... let's be honest - that guy in front of the mic was a jerk about it and that's probably the bigger reason he had his mic cut off. You can easily spin the argument and say that the reporter wouldn't answer Gore's questions either.

Also, as the organizer said, there were plenty of other people waiting to ask questions. Hate to use this word, but it's not "fair" for one person to hijack the entire session. Besides, it's their event they can run it how they want.

Bottom line here? Neither party really comes out smelling like roses.
  • LOL
So, the guy's example was a ruling for Gore's movie and he wants to debate polar bears ad nauseum and they tell him to sit down?

sounds like a mic hog got put in his place to me. I hate it when some jackass with a gripe hogs the mic and events like this. he just take time away from others.

    http://www.polarbearsinternational.org/faq/

esp when they're a moron like this guy...

they should have tazed him. :-)
  • School Curriculum
I can't believe this Gore's POC documentary is being shown in schools. The British court found 11 inaccuracies. It's pure propaganda and a way to make him even richer.
  • Tactic learned from Saul Alinsky
Notice how Gore blithely dismisses the question about the supposed endangered status of manbearpig with a joke?

Rule #1: reduce your enemy to a caricature status to negate their credibility and turn the public mind against them. When asked a serious question that you cant answer, poke fun at them and rely on your cheerleading sycophants in the press to laugh along.

When that fails, pay some union goons to shout them down. (or beat them up)
  • Al Gore
I agree with Stan. The problem here is not whether or not Al Gore had some heckler's microphone turned off. The reasl question here is how are we going to save a planet that becomes more inhospitable towards human life on a daily, if not hourly basis. From the looks of things we may have 15 to 20 years maximum on this planet before it heats up to the point that human life is impossible, but I'm supposed to be concerned about something as trivial as this? As we all know (though some are too racist to admit since the effects of Global Warmings are mainly limited to locations with persons of color for now) the science really is settled on this. Science has nothing to do with debate. That's a petty use of time. Science is about problem solving.
