Been a while since Web Guy picked out a super-brilliant email for us to feature in the Nuze. Finally he found one. No surprise that it came from Austin, Texas. This guy is probably a 'sip.

Name: Steve
City: austin
Subject:VAT TAX

Gee Neil -

Why are you crying about the VAT Tax?

Who's going to pay for the couple trillion that BUSH, Cheney & the Gopers borrowed from the Commies in China for your IRAQ WAR?

Who's going to Pay for the Hundreds of Billions that Bush, Cheney and the Gopers gave to Halliburton, KBR and Blackwater?

How's going to Pay for the Trillions of added deficit spending from Bush, Cheney and the Gopers?

You are the definition of a political hack.

You would never dare to answer me or address that on your hair-brained radio show- so think about. Stop being a shallow nim-rod cry baby.

Gotta love it.

It's fruitless and a waste of time arguing with idiots. 35% of people in this country are on food stamps alone, 54% are on one form of welfare or another. I have no problem with the old folks who worked all their lives and where forced at gun point to put their money into the ponzi scheme known as social security, nor do I have a problem with disabled veterens or children. So, that means that 46 out of 100 Americans work for the remaining parasites in this country. With the communist in theif at the helm now, those numbers will get worst. The problem with socialism is that you run out of other peoples money. I for one will quit working, I've worked for 43 years now and they've taken just about everything I've made.
I know many others out here that are talking about doing the same thing. We've had it. If the youth in this country that voted for obamy want socialism in this country, they can have it, and they can slave the rest of their lives paying for it. Ropes and Chains. Dumnasses!!!!

  • @Snarkybird
    Snarkybird,

You say you’ve studied economics….then you should know that Keneysian theory is mostly without merit, and supply-side economics makes much more sense.

People believe that depressions are bad—and they certainly are no picnic—but they are a necessary component of a healthy economy, and really cannot be avoided, only delayed. Depressions (and recessions) weed out inefficient companies and allow the efficient ones to expand. This in turn lowers prices and increases the value of those companies. Once the economy turns back around, which is inevitable, investors will then have more money to invest, companies grow, people buy, and so forth, until eventually there is another recession/cleansing cycle.

At best, government spending will delay the inevitable, or if we are already in a depression, it will just stretch it out further buy prolonging the lives of companies that should have been weeded out long ago (GM, anyone?). In fact, it’s sort of like trying to cure a cancer patient by giving him ice cream—it might make him feel better for a while, but it does nothing to help the underlying problem.

I know you and many others will think this is preposterous—How can we just LET a depression happen!? Think about the children!!! Well, that is because of conditioning by politicians. A politician wants to feel needed, and wants to take credit for solving everyone’s problems, so over time you have been conditioned to believe that every one of your problems HAS to be solved by government. Well, it DOESN’T…..In fact 95% of the time all government intervention does is make things worse.

Take the stimulus bill. The clowns in charge knew this would do nothing. Again, common sense—most of the spending in it won’t take place for years to come, but they just HAD to rush it through immediately. Why? Because Obama and his team know what I just explained to you, and knew that recovery was just around the corner. By getting the bill through asap, they knew that they could then sit back and claim that they “saved the day” with it, even though in reality all it did was saddle us with more debt. The economic ignorant majority would then think the bill is what caused the turnaround.

If all of this seems like new information to you, then I strongly recommend you brush up some more on economics…which in reality is nothing more than common sense explained in a confusing manner.

Oh and by the way, Bush’s stimulus check and TARP program were terrible, too. And his whole, “I’m abandoning free-market principles to save the free market” thinking was horribly wrong. But the people always clamor for government action to solve all their problems, so he did stuff anyway.

    Steve,
I don't normally support abortion...but in your case I would have made an exception. I can only hope you don't breed. Please stay in Austin and away from the voting booth you ignorant JACKASS!
  • Mental Gymnastics of the Left
I find it a psychological curiosity that so many on the left think this is a logical argument. Since Bush spent $400 Billion, we can't criticize Obama spending $1.4 Trillion?

We will never persuade these looters, because logic has no meaning for them.

You typed: "cutting government spending now would be catastrophic"

You said ""and cutting govt spending now would be catastrophic."

    How so? "

govt spending is replacing demand not in the markets now.

true, they could stop. and we'd get through it.

the point is to get through it without another depression.

but, I suppose you could root for a depression - certainly your right.

  • @Snarky
"and cutting govt spending now would be catastrophic."

How so? That's the ONLY thing govt can do that would actually be helpful. Of course, they want the ignorant to THINK it would be catastrophic.....but the government is completely unbiased there, right?
  • VAT Tax
Since when has a tax added value to anything?
  • @Owen
Sorry, Owen, but you lost Steve at "shiny new car".....

  • I wonder what else we can blame Bush for...
At least he got the prerequisite name calling in there. No argument would be complete with out at least one reference to your tool being hurled.

I keep wondering when we are going to blame Bush for WWII, bell-bottom pants, and of course the Atari 2600. I wonder what else we can blame Bush for?
  • Steve in Austin
Is there a place where people like Steve can go and do whatever they do all day, smoke funny weed, sniff glue or count blades of grass?
I just listened to a radio interview of people waiting for free money from Obama's stimulus plan. They that think Obama has a stash of money and they love him for giving it to them.
I feel kinda helpless, these people can vote and reproduce.
  • look
    finger pointing never fixed anything.

but neither did blind allegiance. especially to ideas that have failed.

the debt that was incurred over the last 8 years only guaranteed higher taxes for future generations.

and cutting govt spending now would be catastrophic.

  • T-sip's
When are you people from Austin going to admit BHO is a mistake? I would guess about the same time you admit Ricky Williams is gay.
  • moron
You're right Neal. Steve is a classic t-sip. Makes you wonder why people pay to have their children "educated" at that God foresaken school in that God foresaken town. Gig'em Neal.
  • A pox on both houses
    All,

It would seem that Steve is quite the idiot, when in truth, check the mirror before casting aspersions. (Oh, and read this before proceeding, as it will set up where I am coming from...)
    http://boortz.com/liveweb/comments/abuse/3094922/

Then, please understand that there are no contradictions. Check your premises.

Most people's premises are the following:
My party is good, and they do mostly good things.
The other party is full of morons, who want to destroy America.

If that is your premise, then you are sadly mistaken.

In 1994-1997, the Federal Budgets were $1.46T, $1.52T, $1.56T, and $1.6T. It would seem that the "Republican Revolution" failed. For those of you new to the Constitution, The Congress makes the laws, and the President signs (or vetoes) and executes the laws.

So, if you want to elect a Republican Congress, just understand this is like putting a parachute made from a grocery bag (like I made when I was a kid for my plastic army men) on an Jetliner that is plunging towards the earth. Yes, it will slow it down, but not significantly.

Actually, let me correct myself. It will be like pulling back a millimeter on the throttle as it power dives towards the earth.

Here is what you need to do, if you truly belive in the Constitution, and you really want to put your premises and remove your contradictions:

    1. Demand that whatever politician you support not have anything in the budget that is not called out in the Constitution of the US, specifically Article 1, Section 8.
    2. Not whine and complain because they got rid of your pet project, such as studying the mating habits of gay beavers, or overfunding the yk-42 attack fighter that is over budget for the 29th year in a row.
    3. Pay the debt off.

If your candidate won't do these things, perhaps a different candidate needs to be chosen. Ask them one simple question: How many pieces of cat poop are in the brownies you are serving to me?

You may be able to have a different opinion from me, but before you attack me, state your premises, so we can have a rational debate.
  • Re Keith
    Keith,

You get all your news from the media don't you.

In 2001, the senate was set to be split 50-50 and the Republicans would have control by virtue of the Vice-President's vote. However, Jumpin Jim Jeffers decided that he couldn't stand being part of the majority and jumped ship, leaving the Democrats with control of the senate until the 2003 term at which time the Republicans gained a bare majority on paper. In practice the Democrats could count on the votes of Arlen Spector, Olympia Snowe and Susan Collins on just about anything they wanted, giving them effective control of the legislative process (i.e. most any amendment they put forward in markup got included). Thus the Democrats effectively controlled the senate for the entire Bush administration. Of course, the democrats and the media won't point that out.

Sorry to disabuse you of your cherished beliefs, but that is the way it was.
  • From a clinical point of view...
...Steve from Austin suffers from paranoia and delusional thoughts.

From a practical, realworlder point of view, he's a freakin' idiot that I just don't have time for.
  • to Jonas (and his brothers)
You have never read the Fair Tax book, have you?
Why is it fair to tax income? And at different rates?
Also. the rate is 23% INCLUSIVE. I did the math and if it were an EXCLUSIVE tax, the rate would be 28.6%
Just so you know, the Fair Tax changes EVERYTHING except the price the consumer pays. How is that unfair?
  • @Justin
Sorry, amigo, but you're wrong about the Dems congtrolling congress for most of W's term. They only controlled it for the last two years.

Not that it really mattered, considering how much W kept bending over backward to appease them. For example, Ted Kennedy wrote an education bill early in the Bush administration but it can just as well be called the Bush education bill. After all, Bush basically handed Ol' Crash & Splash a pen and paper and said "Here you go, Teddy. You write it and I'll push for it."

Until Obama came along Bush and a Republican congress broke all kinds of records for government spending. Anyone who didn't hear Neal decrying that doesn't listen to him.
  • e-mail writer
    What a dolt.
  • Ahh..Texas
Yeah, big state..pretty country! Few too many marrying relatives around Austin. Way to stick it to the man, Steve! You tell em buddy!
  • Goper: Defined
    Justin

A Goper is a liberal epithet conveying a meaning of extreme derision. Synonyms for it in the liberal lexicon are neanderthal, cro-magnum, stupid, greedy, ignorant.

To the rest of the world it refers to those of the Democrat-lite party also known as Republicans.
  • In defense of Austin
It's no secret that Austin Texas is swimming in left-wing nutbars. It's an embarrassing blue stain on an otherwise red shirt. Fortunately, not everyone in Austin is an "artist," musician, lawyer or government employee. The balance of Austin residents are highly-educated, capable and have (painfully) learned to spot libtards from a mile away. The tide is turning; We plan to send them back to California where they came from...
  • Steve (from) Austin, A Man Barely Alive
    But we can rebuild him.
    We have the technology.
We have the capability to build the world's first educated liberal.

  • Ignorance is Expensive
    Steve
    How ignorant can you get.
    VAT tax truths:

Say you want to buy that nice shiny new car that right now sells for $20,000. You currently will pay another 5-12% in state and local sales taxes depending on where you live (I don’t know Austin, Texas’ sales tax rate) for a walk out the door total of $21,000-$22,400. Now with a 5% VAT you would think that the price would be $22,000-$23,400, and you would be wrong. Let’s look at the whole supply chain on this. First, there is about 3000lbs of steel in that car more or less depending on model. The foundry needs to purchase that steel either from a scrap yard or from a smelter. In this example it is cheaper from a scrap yard so I will use that for now (there would be one more federal 5% from the smelter buying the ore). They will pay about $500 for a car’s worth of scrap steel, except now they will also pay another 5% or about $525 or a cost increase of $25. Now the properly mixed and prepared steel will go to the independent subsidiary of the automobile company that makes the motors. I don’t know what the costs for the foundry are, so I can’t even guess what the final price of the various grades of steel are, but they will charge the motor plant, body plant, etc., what they charge now plus the added cost of the taxes on the raw materials. Now I haven’t looked it up, but I imagine that it probably costs another $300 to ship that car’s worth of steel to the various subsidiaries now, but add the 5% and you get $315 or an additional $15. The company makes the motors and ships them to the assembly plant. The currently $2000 motor now costs an additional $40+ from imbedded taxes and the parts transaction is taxed bringing the $2000 motor up to $2142 (more actually since I can’t estimate the steel batch cost increase). Now repeat this process for the body, brakes, radio, seats, carpet, paint, instrument panel, sensors, lights, etc., and the imbedded taxes will add another 6-12% on each component. Finally all of the shipping transactions will have another 5% added, bringing the total additional costs for that car to the neighborhood of $2,000. So, now your $20,000 car is going to sell for at least $22,000, and then you get to add “the part of the tax that you pay” for a final cost of $24,000 - $25,740. So this little tax will pull $3,000 - $3400 out of your pocket on that car.
So, if I am in the car business, I move all my manufacturing supply and assembly chain overseas to avoid the VAT and just pay the import duty on the final product and sell you that $20,000 car for about what I sell it to you now, but a few thousand worthless UAW leeches will be out of a job.
  • this steve....
The VAT Tax sucks on top of all we pay now.
The Irag war...Dems had control past several years and could have stopped funding it whenever...
Again for KBR Black water and others...congress controls how we spend money...not the president...dems were in charge during most bush 2's years
Steve obviously does not understand how our government works.
Blame Bush all you want...and if u dont like boortz...dont listen...many others people to listen to...
  • Gopers
I'm in a fog, what the hell is a Goper
  • Steve The New Slave
Hey Steve, you stupid sonofabitch . . . why don't you just buy yourself a collar with a chain on it and just drive down to the closest government building you can find and tell them that THEY OWN YOU. No tax is too high or too often for ridiculous people like you. Just write Obama a check for your entire net worth and get it over with.

The problem with that idea is that you probably OWN NOTHING. You're just waiting for the government to provide your every requirement. Sadly, you are too stupid to know that you're being sold a bill of goods by the World's Biggest Empty Suit.
  • 100%
This guy collects checks from the government for his living. Either that or he's an artist or someone who has "0" marketable skills.

He probably fashions himself a trendy hipster who is quite worldy. But he doesn't pay his credit card statements, defaulted on his Junior College loans, and demands your tax money so he can buy microbrews.

Slime. 2010 and 2012 can't get here soon enough. We need to land a body blow to the entitlement crowd and I want people this this to be the first ones to feel the impact.
  • VAT TAX BABY YEAH!
Now we get to see the UNFAIR TAX go down in flames!!

NEAL... ITS A 33 PERCENT TAX. QUIT LYING TO US.

All you are trying to do is pay less taxes and make the working class pay more with your UNFair Tax.
  • Neal's webwench don't allow no HTML

  • My letter!
Neal posted my letter on his website! This is so cool! Of course he can't address the brilliance of it, nor will he dare challenge my point of view. He'll just make fun of it and pretend that he beat me with his intellectual. I think writing the name of Bush in all caps was what really scared him off!
  • Liberal Math
Obama's budget for public assistance in the next year is more than the entire war has cost. Too many 0000's for the effete elite to understand.
  • Now wait a minute...
Doesn't Neal bash Bush with phrases like, "A spending bill never crossed Bush's desk that he did not sign."

I remember Neal saying that. And Neal's right. Bush was a huge spender. So is Obama. I'm just not sure why folks are redirecting to Obama when the subject is BUSH'S spending problem.

In Bush's defense, it's expensive to fight a war and as that ramps down, god willing, watch Obama take credit for "cutting costs" much like Clinton enjoyed as the Cold War died under Reagan and military spending dropped significantly.
  • Oh yeah take that!
So many morons think two wrongs make a right!

Bush led by example in spending towards the end and Obama is taking that lesson and running with it.
  • What on earth has that guy been smoking?
Bush left a deficit of 400 billion. He also left 350 billion in TARP funds that Obama has spent. So most of the deficit left by Bush was spent by Obama. Since then Obama has spent about two trillion dollars. That more than the Iraq war. It is more than any president has ever spent and the first year isn't over yet. Just imagine how much this guy can spend given four years. He is well on track to spend more money than all the previous presidents combined. And this yahoo clearly cannot tell the difference between million and trillion
  • Steve From Austin
Steve, please, switch to the gold metallic. It kills cells much slower than whatever cheap color you're currently huffing.
I was all amped up to ridicule this poor kid (seriously, he can't be older than what...19?) but then I realized how redundant it would be--Steve is self-ridiculing.
  • It's GOTTA be Jimmy
    same style
  • show him this chart
It clearly shows that once Bush got marginal control of the Congress, the deficits went DOWN until the Copperheads got back in control for 2007. And that was in spite of the Clinton recession and fighting a necessary WOT that Clinton ducked.
  • Gotta love it
You've got to love empty-minded individuals such as the one that wrote this email. The VAT, which is an ADDITIONAL tax, is to cover the trillions that Obama & the sitting congress have managed to lay out spending for. Never mind that this spending, laid out in less than ONE year is already greater than the debt built up not just by Bush, but by every president in the history of the nation combined! It shouldn't be surprising that they need a massive tax increase, especially since they have so much MORE spending they would like to add on top of it. I've served my country proudly as a soldier, as have many in my family, rich or poor, and met the love of my life overseas. Ironically, she's my escape plan if everything goes south. Thankfully, it seems people are starting to WAKE UP!
